27 Frozen Cocktails to Drink in Boston Summer 2019 - Eater Boston

"With the success of the frosé at Colette’s sister restaurant, Frenchie, the team at Colette — Porter Square’s new French bistro — knew it needed a signature frozen drink of its own. Beverage director Chris Keith chose the Negroni. His frozen take on the classic is made with Fords Gin, Carpano Antico vermouth, Campari, and orange juice." - Katie Faust Stryjewski

Colette French Restaurant Opens in Cambridge’s Porter Square - Eater Boston

"Colette debuts in Cambridge tomorrow, located in the Porter Square Hotel. Sibling to Frenchie across the river — and sharing one owner with Petit Robert as well — Colette will likewise specialize in French cuisine. The restaurant — self-described as a “neo bistro” — will be a casual dining experience defined by fresh ingredients, as co-owner Sandrine Rossi previously told Eater. “The neo-bistro movement, or bistronomy, reimagines approachable dining with a pared-back dining space, relaxed service, and an abiding focus on freshness,” Rossi said at the time." - Terrence Doyle

A fun French bistro in a charming setting. Particularly good charcuterie, French onion soup, and coconut panna cotta. $10 valet parking is a steal! Worth a return visit for sure. Updated - I came back for a second visit and the service was pretty rough. One order was messed up, no one bothered to clear the dishes that were mounting up, an allergy request was forgotten, the waiter broke the cork opening a young bottle of wine. The food was still good and the atmosphere charming, but too many problems with the service to keep 5 stars.

Google
The food was good, but even when we ordered the same dish the consistency was different. We had to wait even after an early reservation, the rest of the staff was friendly but one lady was making un polite faces while taking us to our seats. We experienced hostile behavior when we asked her about the dish which wasn’t fully cooked. We went there to celebrate my friend’s birthday and was extremely disheartened after the experience. Though the place was beautiful and some dishes were really good, I don’t think the experience was something friendly towards us.

Google
I really like both the indoor and outdoor decor at this bistro, very young, hip, and modern. Chicken was great: crispy on the outside, and tender and moist on the inside. My one complaint would be the poor soundproofing indoor, the place felt quite loud although not many tables were full.

Google
Food was prepped and cooked well, and flavors were good. However, food is only a fraction of the dining experience. The cocktails were terrible...either tasted too strongly of cheap liquor or not even remotely enough liquor. Service was something to be desired...not the warmest set of staff for such a good looking restaurant. Folks were inattentive, blasé, and just in general didn't seem like they cared too much for the patrons. Definitely expected more, which may have been my own mistake. I'd say do a take out and skip the dining in experience here.

Google
Average cocktails, nice food, wine bottles at acceptable prices, deserts were 👌🏼. Oysters 🦪 where pretty good. Good place to have dinner in Cambridge area. Hard to find parking nearby.

Google
Excellent! From the amazing decor to the absolutely delicious food to the prompt and friendly service, everything was great. We had Sunday brunch and really enjoyed the experience. Definitely worth a visit.

Love this place. It was the only restaurant that was openned on Christmas around my house. Foods were delicious. The interior was nice, and photogenic. This is a perfect meeting up Place. There is a nice bar here. Come check it out.

Google
I think this is a beautiful restaurant/bar that I would recommend for post dinner or a nice cocktail nice out but are very limited in the food aspect. Their burger and croissant egg benedict was good but seemed like the only option to eat. Their charcuterie board seemed overpriced but I guess that makes sense given the location.

Yelp
Even before stepping foot in the restaurant, I was already treated to their outstanding customer service. I had an issue with the gift card that was gifted me and they helped me over the phone. We came in on Sunday for an early dinner and were surprised to find we were the only patrons! It was lucky because we hadn't made a reservation. We were seated right away and I must say the dining room is really lovely and definitely "instagrammable", chandeliers, pink velvet sofas and plush chairs. Very reminiscent of restaurants we saw in Paris. Our waiter was friendly and accommodating. There was an issue with the steak frites we ordered for the kids (we asked for sauce on the side, the sauce came on the steak) and it was taken care of right away with apologies. The lemon sole was outstanding, rich, delicious sauce with the right amount of brightness. The beef bourguignon was well cooked and the wine sauce was rich. As expected the crème brûlée was delicious and so were the macarons. Absolutely recommend and am so glad we were gifted the gift card!

Yelp
I have been to Colette a few times and have never been disappointed. But last night going to enjoy their wine series was definitely one of my favorite times here. Colette the May was offering a wine tasting and food pairing event. I attended this event and it was fun and informative! We were seated at a beautiful table outside and were well taken care of. The food and wine pairs were incredible and the small plates were more than enough to be filling. If you haven't had a chance to attend this event definitely try to! Every time I go to Colette I am always impressed with their changing menu. It's always different when I go and I am never disappointed.

Yelp
Beautiful place for brunch with tons of natural lighting and holiday decor! There was some confusion where we didn't get exact items and styles we ordered but everything was great overall. It is also a bit noisy inside and hard to hear during conversation. The French onion soup is on the smaller side and a bit sweet but it has a good amount of cheese, bread, and onion. The eggs Benedict on a croissant is well balanced and tasty. The mushroom kale buckwheat crepe with duck is extremely filling and flavorful - the rolled crepe does make it less crispy than the typical square one though. The side items are also cooked well: the potatoes are seasoned and crispy, the salad has great textures and a bright dressing. The coffee drinks (lattes) are quite decent and come in very large mugs.

Yelp
When I walked in I thought my wallet was in for a beating cause the decor and vibe and aesthetic was beautiful, which means I might been paying for that with my benjamins but surprisingly I found the prices a pretty good deal relative to the amount of food. My Benedict tasted great and particularly the ham had a lot of flavor. We also had the crunch toast and really enjoyed the cream. Berries tasted fresh. Service was fast and our waiter was friendly. Would come back when feeling brunch and a little bougie.

Yelp
Terrible!!! 2 of the other 3 people enjoyed their meals so I gave it a 2. I had the halibut it was cold and overcooked. How can you operate what is supposed to be a high caliber restaurant where no one understands English! When asked how the meal was I told the server it was overcooked. They smiled. At the end of the meal they came and lifted both thumbs up. I told her to let the chef know the meal was terrible. She looked at me dumbfounded. I don't think she understood a word I said. The bus girl also did not speak English and when she asked if she could clear the appetizer plates and we asked her to leave the French fries she left everything and perhaps that's why they held the main meals and the food was cold. Try having better staff on a Saturday night. My reviews are never this bad so listen to me and learn

Yelp
Went there for brunch on a Saturday afternoon. Reservation was pretty easy to make. The place was bigger than I thought. Pretty seating and good ambiance. The waiter went over the brunch menu and gave recommendations as well. As for the food, the portion is definitely bigger than expected compared to regular brunch plates. I loved the crepe and all the fillings. The only thing to complain was that the crepe is a little thick overall; probably because it was buckwheat. My friend got the classic egg benedict and it was the standard. I like how it was the croissant instead of the regular muffins. Overall, a cute place with a good atmosphere. Would love to go back to try their dinner menu.

Yelp
Our server greeted us with Merry Christmas, while festive music played in the background. Our single cheese Semi Firm - Invierno was served with a generous portion of accoutrements and although there are no glamour shots, the French Onion Soup and Ricotta Gnudi special were delicious. The Beef Wellington was tender & flavorful, accompanied by smashed potatoes that were a hit! Some of the frites were crispy, but inconsistent. The Christmas Santagria had a nice balanced flavor. Overall it was tres magnifique!

Yelp
Ordered fries, mussels, Brussels, risotto, tagliatelle, potatoes gratin. In saying it, I feel like we needed more diversity from 2 potato and 2 pasta but I don't regret it. Everything was good, especially the risotto. We were all curious how it was going to come out (chunks of butternut? Butternut as the sauce?) and we're all surprised because we were all wrong -- tiny pieces of butternut. The gratin was a bit bland and the brussels could have had more of the sauce. We also got the profiterole and Nutella mousse, both of which were fantastic.

Yelp
I went to Colette Wine Bistro for brunch this Saturday located on 1924 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge, MA. For an appetizer we had the croissant basket which contained hazelnut, chocolate and plain croissants. I loved the variety offered here and such a great option for the table plus it was only $7! 7/10. For a cocktail I had a peach bellini. The Bellini's also come in strawberry, passion fruit etc. 8/10. For entrees we had the bananatella which had grilled brioche, banana, nutella, and chocolate sauce 7/10. If you are looking for a sweet brunch option then this is the one for you! We also had the white truffle croque monsieur with mushrooms 6/10. For desserts we had the Crème brûlée 8/10 and the assortment of macaroons 9/10. The desserts and cocktails definitely shined at this spot! Take your Mom here this mother's day or any other day of the week. Your mom will think your taste is not only classy but tasty. Food: 7/10 Affordability: 7/10 Ambiance: 8/10

Yelp
A decent spot for brunch, service was quick and attentive. We had a big party and they served us quickly! A very loud environment if you are okay with that. The food was decent but prepare your wallet!

Yelp
A favorite in Cambridge. This review is for their brunch. We went with several small plates and enjoyed outside seating. Smoked salmon plate is a favorite (and could be a meal by itself) : Smoked salmon is accompanied by cucumbers, egg, grilled bread and roe. Refreshing beet arugula salad, and granola with yogurt and fruit. And dog-friendly :)

Yelp
My friend and I sporadically decided to pop in prior to going to a nearby event. We were seated promptly and kindly as there were plenty of tables and seats at the bar on a Saturday around 4:30 pm. The eclectic chairs were something to admire as we were enjoying our drinks. The ambiance was casual and deserved the title of a lounge vibe. For drinks we tried their Golden Hour and Empress both of which we thoroughly enjoyed. Bartenders were clean and artisanal with putting them together. Overall, we had a fun time and would love to come again for a more long-term sitting.

Yelp
To begin, the atmosphere here is wonderful. The decor is wonderful and the setting is so comfortable. The service was perfectly timed and pleasant. The fool is PHENOMENAL. The French onion soup was so rich, the steak was so perfectly cooked, it melted like butter. The homemade Tagliatelle was incredible, I almost licked the plate clean. If we lived closer this would be my go to spot. If you are considering a visit, do not hesitate. Next time we are in Boston, we will take a trip to this spot.

Yelp
We came to Colette Wine Bistro for brunch and loved it! The decor and ambience is beautiful and fun. We started with the croissant basket which was surprisingly our favorite part with three different types of croissants. The eggs Benedict and cheeseburger were delicious. Would definitely visit for brunch again!

Yelp
Excellent food, attentive service, quirky ambiance, and some of the best chicken I've had in a long, long time. Definitely recommend Colette's wine bar to anyone in the davis Square area!

Yelp
Very happy to come here on a pre Valentine date night. Colette Bistro has some staple French foods like steak Frites we just to die for and chocolate mousse. Everything here is homemade and fries are phenomenal. The wine selection is certainly on the high end and I enjoyed a bottle of Snowden. It is a $95 bottle of Cabernet (Snowden from CA) and well worth it. If you are a wine afficionado drink this. I ate everything on my plate. What I like about it is typically the French are experts making sensible proportions and yet I was happily full. The chocolate mousse was light fluffy and not too sweet and had no problem devouring that. The ambience was very much vintage contemporary very charming with that beautiful colonial look to it. I would highly recommend coming here for a date night or a good group celebration. I certainly would love to come back here.

Yelp
We loved the atmosphere at Colette! The Negroni was a good start but didn't wow me, was hoping for some more unique flavors. Mushroom Voul au Vent had deliciously rich flavor, but just a smidge too salty, which luckily was balanced out by the squash and whipped burratta. I thought the flavors of the squash and burratta were good individually, but the dish wasn't stitched together as well as I'd hoped. Similar to the Voul au Vent the pork chop was just a bit salty, but had incredible flavor and the meat was perfectly cooked. The home made cavatelle was the star of the meal with a great assortment of vegetables and deliciously fresh pasta. Drink: 1. White Negroni (3/5) Appetizers 1. Mushroom Voul au Vent (4/5) 2. Squash with Whipped Burrata (3/5) Main 1. Pork Chop (4/5) 2. Home made Cavatelle (5/5)

Yelp
This is a comfortable place with a classy and cozy feel to have a nice glass of wine and chat with a friend or date for awhile, but I probably wouldn't have dinner here again - maybe just apps and definitely wine. The French onion soup didn't really have any broth and the short rib and chicken entrees were on the blander side especially for the price tag. I did like the duck confit and mushroom app, but wish there had been a touch more puff pastry. Food aside, service was good, ambiance was very nice, and most of the wine I tried was good. My partner and I were able to linger for quite awhile without ever feeling rushed, and the chairs were lovely to sit in for hours.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for a date night. We were seated and waited 30 minutes for someone to say hi to us or ask us if we wanted anything to eat or drink. No one came so we just left and they didn't care. We also came here pre-Covid and found the staff to be rude. We thought it'd change but it hasn't.

Yelp
Tres bien. J'adore! The place is tres chic! I love the pink bar. Chandeliers n beautiful wallpaper that matches the chairs. Apparently i have the same taste as Elizabeth Warren! We spotted her leaving w her entourage. I waved n she smiled n shook my hand!! What an honor! Definitely a place to treat yourself. I'm so glad I was able to get reservations the day I arrived in Boston. Food is great except for the French onion soup, it was good but I wish it had overflowing of cheese. We started w oysters, so fresh so good. At 6/$19 definitely a treat. Halibut excellent, fries great, then I had just enough room for macaroons for desert. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Boston. It's located at the Porter Square Hotel. It was my reason for booking the hotel bc the restaurant had great reviews.

Yelp
Kicked off the 4th weekend at Colette for brunch. It wasn't busy when I arrived and we got seated ASAP. We browsed the menu and it took awhile for the waitress to come and take our order and it looked like she was the only waitress on the floor. Anyways, we got our order in and started off with the salmon plate. It was a deconstructed lox and bagel. I enjoyed the dish, just wish they had a little more when it came to some of the portions. The salad lyonnaise was my least favorite dish. As much as I enjoyed the bacon lardons, I didn't like the endive or the bitterness of the frisse, which ruined the taste for me. The cheeseburger I ordered was medium rare but it came more on the rarer side. I only had a little bit and I didn't think it was anything outstanding or memorable. The best dish that I got was the White Truffle Croque Madame. It was cheesy, crispy and the runny egg was my favorite part. If you brunch here, this is the dish to get.

Yelp
It's definitely French! Located in the Porter Square Hotel, Colette is a swanky, easy to find wine bistro - definitely not an ultra bar but a casual, let's meet for wine kinda spot. Like most Boston restaurants, kitchen closes early so be sure to place your order by 9pm during the week. Wine list was adequate, pricey but enough to chose from. Food menu presented typical French cuisine from Onion Soup, Mussels, Chicken and Duck dishes. If you are looking for a meet up spot, this does the job and they also have a nice patio and very close to the Red Line stop. Bon Apetit!

Yelp
I came here on a weekday to celebrate my friend's birthday. We came right when they opened (4:30) and it wasn't crowded at all. The entrance is a little weird to find, but it's inside the Porter Square Hotel. First impression when I walked in was that it was very aesthetically pleasing and really well decorated! Loved the furniture and vibe of the place. They also had cute outdoor seating in both the front and back of the restaurant. For drinks we ordered the Tomorrow at Dawn and it was so delicious and sweet. I originally ordered the Alaska, but asked to change it because it was way too strong for me. However they were easily able to change it! For an appetizer we ordered the cheese board. It was really good but nothing to rave about. Pretty basic. The complimentary bread that came out was really warm and fresh, and was great to use for the cheese board. Now for entrees my friend ordered the duck and I ordered the steak frites. The steak frites were just ok. Maybe it was because I ordered them done medium well...but they were just really basic, and came with way too many fries! The duck however...that was delicious and I would highly recommend! It was very tender and flavorful. For dessert we ordered the Nutella chocolate mousse and it was so yummy!! Super sweet of course but a great way to cleanse the palette. Overall my experience here was good but nothing over the top. Service was decent but the entrees took WAY longer than they should have. The food overall was also just ok. Glad I tried this place thoigh and would maybe come back to try the brunch.

Yelp
The food was so average. The pictures of the restaurant makes it seem as though it is a French Boutique type restaurant. When I got there, I did not even recognize it was the same restaurant as the pictures. The salmon eggs Benedict was so salty it was not edible. We wont be back again.
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely beautiful ambiance! The food was really great too! Our waiter was very accommodating and I appreciated the effort he put into his customer service. I highly recommend coming here for date night! We came with the kids and it was a fun family dinner, however they do not have a kids menu so the vibe really is for date night. But was a great time & of course our kids were well behaved :) Only thing I would recommend to this place is they should play French music to really set the Parisian mood!!!

Patti S.

Yelp
Do not waste your time or money here. Our party waited at least 20 minutes simply to order our food. It was over 40 minutes until our food arrived, and then only because I hunted down our waiter in the dining room and requested that our food be served. Did the manager offer to comp part of the meal? No. He hastily put a plate of vegetables on the table as an apology--a dish which no one ate. In fact, three of our main courses were so bad that they were not eaten at all. All of this for hundreds of dollars. A complete waste. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. This place is an overpriced and badly managed with poorly cooked dishes served too late.

Yelp
We stopped into collette to have a drink before heading to dinner at a nearby restaurant. Very cool vibe and good drinks. We ordered a fall sangria and a golden hour. These were a perfect way to start our night! We will be back to try some food next time.

Yelp
Great little spot, fun, atmosphere and completely comfortable wing back chairs and some small tables. Food was very good. The drinks came out of the bar very quickly and it was a very pleasurable brunch experience in my old neighborhood.

Yelp
Colette is such a gem and it offers a trendy upscale vibe. They have a cute patio outside and beautiful decor inside. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and service was overall great. We came on a Sunday at 5pm for an early dinner and there was easy street parking right outside the restaurant. The food was pretty good as well. We started with the Baked Boucheron Goat Cheese- the honey perfectly balances the flavor of the cheese. The only thing is we would've liked a few extra toast slices since we still had quite a bit of cheese left after we finished the toast. For entrees, we ordered the Duck Magret and the Steak Frites. The duck was a bit on the fatty side (which duck usually is) but it was very tender and juicy. It's on the lighter side, flavor wise, but paired really well with the figs. The flavor of the Steak Frites was on the lighter side as well. Nothing too special but still tasty nonetheless. Lastly for dessert, we ordered the Lemon Tartlet. It was great in that it wasn't too sweet and the blood oranges paired so well with the light lemon flavor. Definitely recommend! I believe Colette is only open for dinner but I think their beautiful decor would make it a great weekend brunch spot. Would definitely return just for the vibes!

Yelp
Colette is one of my favorite spots in Cambridge. I was drawn in by the oysters (and by their lovely outdoor patio) but everything I've had here has been excellent. They have a wide selection of wines and cocktails, and the oysters, cheese and charcuterie make for a perfect happy hour snack. It's also great for dinner--they don't have a huge menu, which I liked because it was already so hard to choose from the options they had. We got a bunch of different things, so I don't remember them all, but the duck confitte was terrific, as was the french onion soup. The service is always excellent as well, everyone I've interacted with here has been friendly and helpful. I can't wait to go back!

Cailin C.

Yelp
Everything about Colette is so well thought out and unique, even down to the chairs! All of the little details of the decor are beautiful. Not only that, but the food and drinks we had were outstanding. We got the lemon sole, steak frites, and Brussels sprouts (best we've had), as well as the French spritz and margarita for drinks, and everything truly wowed us. To top it off, the service was wonderful - everyone was so kind and attentive. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Steve S.

Yelp
We have been to Colette's many times and it is always a great dining experience. Cheese selection, wine selection, excellent mixed drinks just lead into the excellent entrees. Chicken, fish and steak always prepared to keep us coming back.

Ben W.

Yelp
Great entrees (the half chicken is excellent, crispy but tender and flavorful). Is it Mistral? No. But your wallet won't mind. The cocktails were great as well. Friendly staff, and the waiters and chef were accommodating to those in the party with food allergies, they were very willing and able to hold the gluten and dairy. The ambiance is fun, eclectic and casual, though the room has poor acoustics and I found myself saying "what?" every couple minutes. Overall a great spot and have come back a couple times.

Yelp
AMBIENCE: 5 stars - This place truly embodies the "treat yourself" mentality like another review mentioned before. The shabby-chic interior design of the place with its hues of soft pinks, gold, red and deep grays/blues really takes you to the 18th century French culture with a girly twist. I absolutely love vintage French bistros and glistens with elegance ranging from the chandeliers up top to the abstract patterns on the each wall. The decor will certainly make this one of my top places to go for a Girl's Day Brunch but there's still some modern class to it that makes it just as suitable for a Date Night. - A small detail that I appreciate is that they use real candles at their tables during dinner time. I know it's a small thing to knit-pick but I truly feel the use of artificial candles vs real ones could sometimes be the thing that elevates a restaurant to a different caliber. - I was expected to sit at one of the cute booths in the back of the restaurant since one of the main reasons why I chose this place was because of how cute this place looked so I was slightly disappointed to be walked to a table in the middle surrounded by 4 other crowded tables with little space. But our hostess was so attentive and noticed and put us at one of the tables I was eyeing that had the pretty background with plenty of room. It was much appreciated! SERVICE: 5 stars - Out waiter was wonderful. He kept a respectable distance from the table and would always excuse himself whenever he happened to interrupt us in mid conversation to serve food or drinks, which is just extremely thoughtful. - The food did take quite awhile to arrive, even for the appetizer we had to wait a bit. We didn't mind much though since we weren't in a hurry and the restaurant was so pretty that I did not mind one bit spending extra time inside just admiring the decor. FOOD/DRINK (PRESENTATION/TASTE): 4.5 stars - Duck Confit & Mushroom Vol au Vent = wow. The duck was cooked to perfection, so soft that it almost just melts on your tongue. The mushroom just soaked up the incredible sauce. The vol au vent was flaky and buttery as full-puff pastries go. The only thing is I wish there was more of the duck since there was only a few bites but the mushrooms were plenty and delicious. We honestly asked for more bread just so we can literally lick the plate clean! - Handmade Tagliatelle = The tagliatelle was gorgeously done, great texture and perfect thickness and width. The butternut squash was sweet and cleansing and pumpkin cream sauce was also amazing. I added a dash of salt to it but besides that it was perfect. I only wish that the serving was a bit bigger since I was still hungry after - Monkfish = incredible. I am not a fan of monkfish and almost never orders it but my partner did and he let me try a bite. I could not help but ask for more! The sauce they have on there is just so amazing, the monkfish was not over cooked and the meat just flakes off gorgeously. I might just order this for myself next time! OVERVIEW: 4.5 stars total - Great for Girl's Day Brunch or Date Night - Amazing flavors in every bite - A bit on the pricy side for the serving size you get but that's typical of French dining and the flavors make it all worth it!

Yelp
Colette offers a nice atmosphere and friendly service, but overall nothing to get excited about. There are better options in the neighborhood both cheaper and more expensive. We had the roasted squash and raclette gratin appetizers. For entrees we had the hand made tagliatelle and the boneless half chicken dishes. We finished by sharing the Nutella chocolate mousse. The appetizers were the best and most unique part of the meal, and I would recommend both. The entrees were both small and nothing special, although the vegetarian tagliatelle dish was better than the chicken. The chicken entree was highly recommended by our waiter and was quite a let down, a bit over cooked, lacking in flavor, and overpriced for the portion size and quality. I personally would not order the chicken again. The dessert was fine but was quite small, about 3 bites each. I'd recommend getting separate desserts for couples in the mood for something sweet to finish their dining experience. If you are looking for French food and want a lighter meal with smaller portions, Colette is an option to consider in your search.

Yelp
When we arrived, I was disappointed to be notified by our server that they do not serve Steak Tartare and Escargot, as I was very looking forward to have them. The server told us that they reduced number of menus due to pandemic, which is understandable. However, the other dishes we ordered were delicious and it was great dinner overall. We started with Mushroom Vol au Vent and Charcuterie and/or Cheese Board. All the cheese were made in France and tasted like they should be. For Entree, we got Chicken Leg Coq au Vin and Pan Seared Salmon Filet. They were cooked just about right and tasted pretty good. Our choice of dessert was Local Strawberry Tart which was meh. The service was great, we liked the atmosphere of cozy and spacious outdoor seating they offer. I'd definitely come again to check out their Steak Tartare and Escargot after COVID!

Yelp
I made a reservation for brunch with my family. Such a cute restaurant! The inside was so pretty with all the wallpaper and marble tables. Try to get a table in the back patio space since it was nice and quiet compared to the front patio space, which is next to the main street. We ordered the Savory Duck Confit French Toast, Smoked Salmon Plate, French Toast, and French fries. I recommend the Savory Duck Confit French Toast and French fries. The duck was flavorful, and it was interesting to have a savory French toast. We enjoyed the balance between savory and a little bit of sweetness. We didn't realize that the Savory Duck Confit French Toast came with French fries, but we didn't regret our decision on getting a side of fries.

Yelp
I wish I had better things to say. I've been wanting to come here for a while now and we finally decided to celebrate a professional milestone. We started with water and then a waitress didn't come over to us for a good 15 minutes. When she did it was an awkward conversation as we tried to get our drink and appetizer order in. The drinks were ok. My raspberry beret was decent. But the Palma Rosa was bad. It tastes like rum with some lemon juice in it. Not at all what we thought it was going to be. After forcing that down, my brother went towards an aperol spritz which he stated "I make these better at home". Just not super impressed on the drinks. The appetizer was amazing. The duck and mushrooms paired beautifully with the puff pastry. Honestly, all of the food was good. It just wasn't worth the price at all. I got 3 scallops and some canned corn for $35. My brother went with the steak frites which he asked for medium rare and they appeared to our table well done. The steak was still delicious, just not what he asked for. The fries were good. After my 3 scallops and half appetizer, I was still hungry. It wasn't filling at all and cost us each much more than it should have. I know inflation and everything but I just wasn't overly impressed with Colette this weekend.

Yelp
The ambiance is very nice and the food was great. I ordered the steak and it was cooked very well, soft and taste good.

Yelp
Service and food was good, but the wine options were not fantastic. We tasted two different wines and they were not as advertised.

Yelp
Stopped for a nightcap after a full day around town. The attractive outdoor lighting and outdoor seating called to us as we walked by on our way to the Hotel 1868 where we were staying, a few blocks down. Charming inside with dreamy velour settees and romantic lighting. We enjoyed a pot of tea and some Pear Cognac on the patio and look forward to returning again. Friendly service, a very nice evening treat.

Yelp
This one star is given to the discriminative practice by the receptionist/hostess. The food was wonderful but we had a really bad experience with the receptionist/hostess. We (party of 4) arrived at about 6pm and we made a reservations without specifying sitting inside or outside. The hostess was not friendly at all when she met us at the front (and I even saw her rolling her eye ball). When we inquired whether we could sit outside as there were about 4-5 tables available outside, she informed us there were no seating available outside because "we are fully booked..." she said very arrogantly, and "maybe next time...". We understood. So we sit down and waited for our server. 30 minutes - we were served only water but nothing else. No one came to check on us except for a girl pouring our water who can barely speak English. During our wait, the same hostess brought 3 batches of guests in and sit around us, all of them left - you can guess why - where we sit was the back of the restaurant and nobody liked it. What's more, she brought all of them OUTSIDE! "Oh, Now you can follow me outside", she said to them delightfully and held the water bottle high as if she just won a gold medal. But we were just sitting behind those tables she brought out! Did she think we were dumb or we won't say anything only because we looked nice and quiet, and, Asian? Obviously none of those customers had reservations outside in the first place. We were very angry and complained to our server who finally showed up after 30 minutes when we asked for our server. Oh, I forgot to mention that hostess sent people outside with laughter and great manner, but when I called her and tried to asked for our server "excuse me, madam", she passed our table as if we never exist. Anyways our server was great and he helped to connect us with the manager. The manager was also very nice and moved us to outside seating immediately - and you can guess... yes, there were tables available outside even after she moved 3 party-of-two outside! During our 2 hours dinning outside, there were always table available (one or two). I cannot think of any reasons for the fuss she tried to make at the beginning except for discrimination. I would give 5 stars to the food, the manager, and our server. But I had really bad experience with this hostess and it disgusted me. I felt that we were singled out because we are not blond or white, whereas all people she had been friendly with are. NO CUSTOMERS SHOULD BE TREATED THIS WAY. THIS IS BOSTON, THIS IS MASSACHUSETTS. Although the manager and the server were fantastic, I decided to give it a one star because of this extremely unfair treatment we had. It truly ruined my night.

Yelp
Pretty solid brunch place! Came here on a Saturday afternoon around 1230ish? With two of my friends and we were seated within a 5-10 minute wait since they were just cleaning up the table. The decor of the restaurant is very beautiful and very authentic. I felt like all the waiters there were French due to their accents. It was very surprising since I was not expecting it but I guess that means its the real deal! Anyways, I got a bread basket to share among the table and the croissants were super flaky. The bread was also very moist and I enjoyed it a lot! I got the salmon eggs benedict, my friend got the duck waffles and my other friend got the steak and eggs. I had a piece of everyone's dish and it was all so good and delicious. The service and attentiveness of the staff was also refreshing. If you're in the area- stop by!

Yelp
With a five-star presentation, service, and ambiance, I'm dying to go back to Colette to try out their lunch and dinner menu's! We came to Colette for a Saturday brunch and let me tell you, photos don't lie! The food made me feel like I was sipping a coffee in a small cafe in Paris, and was a great escape from reality for an hour or so during these difficult times. We opted for the combination brunch where you can pick an app, a main, and a side and drink of choice. I got the yogurt parfait, egg with salmon croissant, and French fries. The food was SO GOOD, so fresh, and it was incredibly beautiful. I have zero complaints about our meal here. The yogurt was not too sweet, balanced out with the tartness of the fruit and the crunch of the granola. The croissant was warm and buttery stuffed with the savory richness of the egg and smokiness of the salmon. The fries were crispy and had the right amount of herbs to them. Tables were also spaced out perfectly during Covid, we felt like we were in our own little world. (Ps. I heard they're closed as of Dec 2020, but fingers crossed they reopen once cases get better in boston.) this place is truly a hidden gem and can't wait to try their legit French food one day!

Yelp
First time and likely last time. Pleasant but overpriced. Mediocre food- steak frites was B/B-, cod was ok, chicken was salty. French onion soup was quite good, Brussels sprouts app was good, mussels app was meh. Atmosphere was pretty good though. Well trained staff. Full bar. 10 beers on menu, and a good looking wine list. Maybe this is a place to have soup at the bar? Maybe meet for drinks and apps? For me the full overall experience was not aligned with the price.

Yelp
Dined here yesterday and was absolutely amazed and impressed at not only the food and drinks, but the five-star service as well. We racked up quite a bill, but it was well worth it for the total experience. I wouldn't have ordered so many drinks had we not felt so comfortable with the atmosphere. I wholeheartedly recommend the Butternut Squash Soup (daily special which I ordered hot, but comes cold as well), the Burrata & Heirloom Tomato Salad (daily special), the truffle fries, and the Nutella Chocolate Mousse. I also ordered two very good reds (one full-bodied, one Pinot), the Midnight in Paris, and an espresso martini, all of which I would recommend. Outdoors, we were seated about 20 feet away from other patrons because of the generous patio space. When we left we were the only ones on the patio. They have it beautifully lit-- great date space. Can't wait to go back for the atmosphere + the food + the drinks!

Yelp
The food was okay and so was the service. Fries were cold and not fresh and the steak was over cooked for the steam frites. The rest of the food was goodZ service could have been better as the servers were not super attentive and we had to call them over and over again for even getting some water. Ambience was nice. They have some cool decor. If we go back we'd probably only stick to the appetisers, drinks and desserts. The mains did not live up to the hype.
