Average Mexican food, average ambiance, and sub par service. The two servers were over worked, having no one to greet guests, no one to ring up orders, and no one to bus tables. A car show was going on, so the foot traffic was high. Definitely not able to handle the amount of people trying to grab breakfast.
Our hearts went out to the servers as they were incredibly busy. We got a cup of coffee, never to see anyone again for perhaps a refill. We were lucky to place the order. Couldn't get our bill paid, so went to the front only to hope that our server would be able to help us get out of there. We saw a Starbucks on the corner, so went there to get a second cup of coffee.
The food was decent. We had Beef Machaca and a Chile Relleno, both served with rice and beans. The Chile Relleno was smothered in a white cheesy cream sauce. Something different, it was tasty. The cooks were busy, constantly running to the back for more produce or whatever other things that they needed to get their work done. It felt stressful to be honest. I could feel the pressure on each person that worked there.
Our server was nice, tried to be efficient, but the cards were against her. Too much to handle for two servers in order to do their job well. Our bill was 30.00, my husband gave her 20.00 tip just because we could see how hard she was trying.
To the owner, you need to support your staff. They are working hard but truly need help in order to do their job well.
