Google
Every time we walk past it smells heavenly and its packed full of customers!!! Finally had the opportunity to get takeout and it didn't disappoint!!!! The taco Tuesday deals are incredible and the surf n turf burrito was absolutely massive, it fed me 3 times. The staff were friendly and the food was ready very quick. We can't wait to come back next week and the week after that!

Yuechen L.

Google
Very authentic Mexican food. We ordered the lengua tacos, the Colima burrito, and the chicken soup. Everything was delicious, the portions were larger than expected, and the prices were very reasonable. Would definitely come back.

Google
Social media said this is one of the spots to check out for Mexican food. It was pretty good I actually came here twice. First time around I got a Carnitas Burrito and a California Burrito (Carne Asada, Fries, Cheese, Guacamole, Pico de Gallo & Sour Cream). Loved the portion sizes and really liked the taste. Next time around I ordered the Caesar Burrito (Caesar Salad, Grilled Chicken, Avocado, Jack Cheese, Tartar Sauce on a Spinach Tortilla) and the Colima Burrito (Carne Asada, Breaded Fish, Guacamole, Salsa Mexicana, Cabbage & Tartar Sauce). Can't go wrong here and would totally recommend!

Google
Great $1.89 tacos on Taco Tuesday. Fast and accurate service. Tacos made with double corn tortillas and well complimented with fresh onion and cilantro. Limited parking and inside seating so plan accordingly. Enjoy 😉

Google
On my first night out in SD, was told the best tacos and Cal burritos are at Colimas. What a true statement. Was lucky to find a table inside and sit on location to enjoy the atmosphere and view all kinds of people coming in to enjoy Colimas food. Burritos was the best I have had. Good sauces and spicey onions!!! Service was quick and with a smile.

Google
If you’re looking for an authentic, no-frills Mexican spot with mind-blowing flavors, Colimo is the place to go! This hidden gem serves up some of the best Mexican food I’ve ever had. The Cali burrito was perfection—packed with flavorful carne asada, crispy fries, and just the right amount of creamy guac. The adobado taco was next-level delicious, with perfectly marinated meat and fresh toppings. And don’t even get me started on the salsa bar—absolute heaven! Every bite had the perfect kick of spice and freshness. If you’re in San Diego and love authentic Mexican food, this spot is a must-visit!

Google
Never had bad experience here. Been coming for decades. Always good food and 24/7 hours 😋 Can't speak to the seafood. Don't eat that but my friends have never complained and the homemade Cheladas. How could I forget them. Really good.

Rachel H.

Google
Cute and cozy restaurant serving delicious authentic Mexican food! Chips and guacamole are fantastic, loaded with cheese and pico de gallo upon request. San Diego burrito is filling and tasty. Lovely salsa bar. Small free parking lot with drive thru. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Happy Taco Tuesday!! Let me tell you, if you haven't been to Colima's for taco Tuesday you are so missing out. 1.89 per taco (with the exception of lengua (tongue) which is 2.89) less than 3 dollar beers sign me up. My friend invited me out to some tacos and they were amazing guys. Huge portions (food did not eat first. Will take a picture on the next one) and great tacos. Their salsa bar is wonderful. A wide variety of salsa's, grilled onions and chiles curtidos. This is my second taco Tuesday I've been to and I've made the decision that this place is good. You can't beat the price and quality of the food. Very busy all the time even when it's not Tuesday! Love the place overall, I will be back for another taco Tuesday and hopefully with some pictures for proof!

Yelp
Pretty decent food Good portion I tried the chicken burrito w/pollo adobo it doesn't really have the test of adobo but it was ok Good size though!! For $9.99 But if you go on a weekend get ready to get parking.... Other than that Good job!!! "Colimas" Órale!!!

Yelp
Usually I order inside for takeout and have to wait for a little while as they prepare my order but it comes out piping hot. Today I used the drive thru for the first time and was surprised that my order of California burrito and carne asada fries was ready in like 2 minutes (even with cars ahead of me). Unfortunately the food was COLD, it's obvious the food was not prepared after I ordered it, so that's disappointing.
google avatar

Anna L.

Yelp
This place offers a big portion for a decent price. They have a sauce station which is great. They also offer grilled jalapeño and onions (bonus!!)

Yelp
Our Uber driver recommended us this spot after a dodger vs padres game at petco park near our area we were staying in north park. We came a little after 10 pm and this is definitely a place to come after a game or late night of dancing! I ordered a California burrito - $11.49 (Carne Asada, Fries, Cheese, Guacamole, Pico De Gallo & Sour Cream). It was so good but since it was so late I only ate half of it. The hubby ordered the 2 Baja fish taco plate and he enjoyed his food. The place was busy and packed through the night before and after as we were leaving. Our food took about 15 minutes or so to come out. I will definitely be back!!

Yelp
You know, Yelpers, I never get tired of Colimas. We all know that there are literally thousands of great and wonderful Mexican restaurants here in San Diego, but this is the only one that has pre-COVID price points: 2 Cheese Enchiladas $8.95, steak fajitas $16.00, tacos $3.25, Chimijunca $9.95, get the idea? and still extremely delicious. Go see 4 ur self I promise you won't be sorry. And like I said, absolutely delicious, you can't go wrong. Great parking, friendly staff, drive-thru service, and a most friendly staff.

Yelp
Came and got the hashbrown breakfast burrito; it came with bacon, sausage, hashbrowns, egg, cheese and sour cream. I liked that it came with both sausage and bacon, the hashbrowns added a different texture than fries or breakfast potatoes, more crunchy than both options though I wish it was even more crunchy. There's a salsa bar with a good selection. You order as you enter at what looks kind of like a hostess stand. There are a handful seats inside but also a drive thru. They are located next to Olympic Cafe and share the same parking lot but be sure to check the stall as they are designated to each restaurant. They have a taco Tuesday special $2 each which I'll be back to try.
google avatar

Omar G.

Yelp
They have a lot of selection on different foods and different combinations Douglass enchiladas plates they have it all

Yelp
Been coming here since pandemic and then the great pause happened. Finally had a chance to try this again and this place does not disappoint! Food here is surprisingly good and the people that take your order are super helpful I recommending things and making sure you have everything you want or need. I'm a fan of the carne asada as this is the one dish I order at every Mexican inspired restaurant to gauge whether I want to try something else and I finished it completely in one session. Beef was perfect and not dried out, their tortilla reminds me of Pacos by LAZ. The quesadilla was a meal by itself, huge portions!!! 24 hours since before pandemic get your late night cravings! Shout out to Carlos for bringing patient and going through every item with me and being so friendly. Highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Yelp
3.5 stars. The hashbrown breakfast burrito is solid. It's not the best, most perfect flavor for a hashbrown burrito that I've ever had, but it's a good ratio of eggs and other ingredients, is fresh, and plenty to share. I find there are inconsistencies with its flavor because sometimes it's amazing and other times is just good. However the salsa is great every time! I love both the green and red equally and they totally make the breakfast burrito!
google avatar

Kathleen C.

Yelp
My neighborhood late night taco shop and breakfast burrito spot. For breakfast burrito usually will get the sausage or bacon breakfast burrito ADD hashbrowns! Keep ya full for a long time
google avatar

Jessica P.

Yelp
If this place was in North County, I would visit more often. I truly love their burritos here! The parking can get a bit tight but you can always go through drive-thru if you didn't want to park and dine-in. Drive-thru tends to be pretty packed on busy days so just be aware! The inside though is pretty spacious with some seating around. I came here once during the morning and there wasn't anyone around and I came here on a Thursday evening and it was somewhat packed but still lots of seating available. They have so many things on the menu like burritos, tacos, and more! I've came here for breakfast burrito or regular burrito and they've all been so good. They also got tons of sauces you can try out and some sides for free - definitely a bonus! If you're looking for some good burritos, I definitely recommend trying out this place if you're in the area, you won't be disappointed!

Yelp
Steak and potato breakfast burrito with very minimal steak and potatoes. It was 90% egg and cheese..... and it was lacking in flavor too
google avatar

Michael H.

Yelp
Went for taco Tuesday got a bunch of cheap tacos loaded up with meat, carne asada and adobada, pretty fire for the price. Loved the salsa bar too had grilled onions and very decent habanero salsa. 10/10 would recommend for their Taco Tuesday deal.

Yelp
Colimas is one of my favorite Mexican spots in San Diego. Located in North Park off University and Louisiana Street. Parking is extremely limited, but they do have a drive-thru. They have a vast array of Mexican dishes and each one that I've tried has not disappointed. Colimas is a staple North Park eatery.
google avatar

Sarah L.

Yelp
$1.89 for each taco on Taco Tuesday is the best deal ever! Good deals and good quality food! You can't beat it.

Yelp
Looking for a Fajita we end up here at Colima's Mexican food . The plan is to just order to-go since it looks like this area is hard to find parking. But while in line, parking exactly next to their entrance was available. The inside was very small but it seems the food was very good so my wife and I decided to stay . How it works was to order and pay first at the counter and wait for your food to be delivered to your table. Our food was big in servings size. We got Steak with rice and beans and the other one was the Mixed Fajitas. Both were pretty good. But next time we will just go to the Drive-thru .coz their parking spaces were tight and small here .

Yelp
A late-night 24 hour Mexican food restaurant with a huge menu, great prices and generous portions. For 12am take-out, we ordered the green chilaquiles plate, battered and grilled fish tacos, and horchata. The chilaquiles came with eggs and a generous amount of cheese topping, which I did not expect. It's hefty. Take-out conditions considered (I like slightly crunchy, which it kinda was), it was filling and I enjoyed the sour cream too. The battered fish tacos are huge with a proper amount of lettuce and pico de gallo, with a somewhat thicker batter. The winner was the grilled fish taco, it was actually deliciously seared/crisped, I recommend it. It's worth nothing that my friends did not exaggerate about how good the green salsa is. My favorite surprise was the horchata though- it's the best I've had. You can taste the rice, the cinnamon, and it's not overpowering in the slightest. We will likely come back to try more in the future. Parking is tough if you're not there at odd hours. Service is quite fast and the indoor dining area looks casual and welcoming even at night. Time (and more eating!) will tell if this becomes a five-star go-to restaurant for me.

Yelp
WANTED TO GATE KEEP THIS SMALL JOINT. I fear it's too good and underrated hole in the wall. Came in for taco Tuesday and can't wait to come back. You order at the register at the front, grab a number and find a table. BEWARE SMALL AF PARKING LOT (street parking too) and not a lot of tables. But this was so worth, fast service, delicious food! The carnitas and adobada and churro are must try
google avatar

April H.

Yelp
I've been coming here for 20+ years. The place and prices have changed a lot but the food is still delicious and hits every time. Service is great and they try to get people through the drive thru has fast as possible. Love the avocado salsa, pollo asado tacos, potato rolled tacos, and pollo asado fries!
google avatar

April M.

Yelp
not about the food!! the man taking and running orders let us sit at the window for 30 minutes while ignoring my questions asking where the order was. I wouldnt have minded the wait had literally every other car behind us not gotten their order. When I went inside to check on the order, the woman found it immediately like it had been sitting there. I hope the man at that position is replaced by someone more helpful and competent soon. He's the only thing wrong with this place.
google avatar

Yelp
I love the fact that colimas has hamburgers on their menu. I ordered the double cheeseburger and it was huge! It had some flavor, but was cooked well done so kind of dry, but I would order it again because it's massive! Definitely hangover food. I also ordered the torta special which had carne asada and ham and that was delicious! I've always loved Colimas because the service is nice and the food is cooked fast. They've definitely rearranged the inside where it looks more like a sit down restaurant than a grab and go. Highly recommend, it's always busy, call in your order. They also have a separate window/pick up for online orders. They have great salsas too!
google avatar

Yelp
This place is my new favorite Mexican restaurant. Not only are they open 24/7, but they serve delicious meals in large portions! The menu is huge and I'm excited to try more items next time. They are super affordable and I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and great attitudes even though it was the middle of the night. They aren't large by any means but do offer a few tables and chairs for dine in. My husband and I had the 2 tamales plate and (lengua) tongue burrito. We added rice and cheese into the tongue burrito. I am definitely coming back and will check out their taco Tuesday specials as well.

Robin B.

Yelp
I've been here more than a few times and the food is consistently good! Since SD has a million Mexican food places, it's hard to sort out the top tier. I think Colima's makes it! The great quality for a reasonable price is hard to beat, which is why they are my go-to for Mexican food in North Park. I mostly go through the drive thru, be aware that at some times it will have a long line. I got lucky this time (9pm Monday) and there was no wait Service has always been friendly. There is a wait for the food whereas some other drive throughs are really fast, but I think it is worth it since the quality doesn't miss. I can tell some other places rush their prep/cooking and it shows up in the food being inedible. I appreciate how the carne asada here is always well-chopped and there aren't any chewy tendon-y pieces. I really appreciate Colima's for being a reliable, great quality Mexican food stop. I've stopped going to competing restaurants because the lack of quality just isn't worth it, especially since they often charge more too. Thanks for keeping it real Colima's!

Yelp
Cool little drive thru in North Park area of San Diego. Stopped in for some breakfast burritos with a 15 passenger van - right before jumping on a flight. Service was friendly, helpful in answering questions, and food came out quick. Burritos were action and definitely hit the spot. Everyone enjoyed, kids and all. Packed leftovers. Good stuff. 10/10
google avatar

Mariness D.

Yelp
This is my go-to taco place, especially for Taco Tuesday. The pescado taco is my favorite. They also have a drive thru available, if you're in a rush. In the morning, their breakfast burritos can't be beat.
google avatar

Gordon D.

Yelp
The quality of the food is still good after a couple of years. The portion sizes are huge for these tacos. The service is pretty fast, and you can choose to do take out, drive through or order in person. Parking is pretty tough so you can park at the Pizza Hut lot and walk down.
google avatar

Fiona Y.

Yelp
This burrito spot came highly recommended and didn't disappoint! My friends ordered the surf and turf and trust me it's ginormous, about the length of an adult forearm. I had the Caesar wrap which was a bit smaller in size though still more than enough to fill me up. Drive through was quick and there was no wait. The caesar wrap comes with grilled chicken, avocado, and caesar (I skipped the jack cheese). The chicken was extra saucy and tender, although just a heads up it's not made with crispy fried tenders inside. I'll be sure to order a surf and turf next time it looked soo good!
google avatar

Sally B.

Yelp
This was our first time coming here. We live in Ventura County. Food was delicious. The tortillas are yummmmmmm. We liked the true Mexican style feel. We'd definitely came back again if the area again. Only thing that was a bummer was the darn fly flying around as the doors are wide open. Otherwise, Staff was nice and food was delicious.
google avatar

Brenda T.

Yelp
Came for Taco Tuesday and the tacos were better than I expected. Not sure how the rest of the food is, but for Taco Tuesday, it's a great deal. I would definitely come back for it.
google avatar

Yelp
The BEST CHILAQUILES! Colima's Mexican Food is the reason why I have a renewed obsession with chilaquiles haha. I ordered the red chilaquiles with pollo asado and was completely in love. The chicken was so fresh and juicy, the red sauce was spicy and perfect for a morning kick, and the portions were glorious. I ordered it with an over easy egg, it also came with beans and red rice. It was truly mouthwatering and great for especially hungry customers! Everything is authentic and made fresh, so expect to wait a little for your food to come out. Don't worry they're still pretty quick! Colima's is perfect for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. They have tons of options from combination plates, burritos, tacos, and of course Mexican breakfast! I chose to dine-in to get the full experience and I was totally happy I did. I relaxed, kept to myself and savored my food. The staff were quite friendly, the lady at the front register was welcoming. They gave me a number to locate me and brought the food to my table. Colima's has indoor and outdoor seating, the AC isn't the greatest here, so I recommend taking a step outside. Parking is very limited, I struggled to find a spot as this place as it's very popular. A drive-thru is available! I came here because of a recommendation, I'm glad I took the suggestion!

Yelp
I am sooooo happy we found this place on Yelp. The food was exactly what the end of this trip needed. We were staying at the mission valley Hilton and there was no Mexican food near by so we extended our search and found this beauty. We loved that it had a drive thru that late at night we did not want to get off. When we got there the place was dark and a little shady looking but we stuck with it. The menu was faded and hard to see but the drive thru attendant helped us pick the best food. The wet burrito: sauce and tortilla were amazing. My husband asked no onions but I think they cook the shredded beef in bell peppers and onions so he had to do a lot of picking out. He still loved all the flavors so we're not mad at it. Baja Shrimp taco: AMAZING! The shrimp were HUGE and the coleslaw was so well seasoned. I destroyed everything but the tortilla. It was good but too much for me. Surf and turf fries: I can't explain how good it all was. They put a queso fresco on top that was the cherry on the top. They loaded them up with shrimp, asada, guacamole, sour cream, cheese and fries. The salsas: they gave me 2 of each and they were amazing. Green salsa was super flavorful. The avocado one was good but I could do with or without. The RED SALSA was so spicy but a really good spicy. All and all it was the best food we had the whole trip and can't wait to visit again when in the area. Oh and BY THE WAY IT WAS ALL FOR $33. Where do you ever get this much food for $33???
google avatar

Yelp
The Bandido Burrito is SO good. Plenty of meat + a gooey chile relleno cannot be topped! Several salsas to choose from inside too. We got this and a California Burrito, and the Cali was good, but nothing extraordinarily special. Very easy to order and pickup here. We call on the phone and they have it ready very quickly. Staff is always professional and efficient. Love coming here!
google avatar

Erika T.

Yelp
Not mindblowing but not a bad spot. Can be tough to find parking but in the middle of the night it should be doable. I think it's a solid spot since drive thru is open 24/7 so perfect for late night munchies. Ordered the San Diego Burrito which was good but there wasn't as much protein as I would like (compared to The Taco Stand). The burritos came out super fast though. The salsa bar was clean and stocked and the inside was also decently clean. Would come again for late night meal but probably not on a normal day.
google avatar

Alicia T.

Yelp
I've been coming to Colimas for over 9 years and I had one of the worst experience. I literally drove 30 minutes to get food and the cashier was very rude. I just asked for green guac sauce because it wasn't in my to go order and the guy Frankie literally lied and said they ran out, shut the drive through door on my face. But then shortly after I asked another person and he gave me some sauce and told to ask the cashier, but the cashier wasn't helpful at all. I used to live on Texas street and would come once a week, customer service was great and always used to recommend this taco shop, but now it makes sense why you have a really bad reputation. I'll save my money and go somewhere else next time and stop recommending this taco shop. Last time I spend a dime on this taco shop, please train your employees to be nicer to people.
google avatar

Ms. Debbie R.

Yelp
Order two hard tacos, one chicken and one beef. Both tacos had spices and flavoring that were simply delicious. I was attended with a smile and the service was excellent. The atmosphere was nice. I enjoyed the food.
google avatar

Alex C.

Yelp
Colima's is always a hit! The food is fresh, flavorful, and comes out fast every time. The portions are generous, and everything tastes authentic and delicious. The staff is super friendly and the service is consistent. Definitely one of my go-to spots when I'm craving good Mexican food!
google avatar

Yelp
A gem in SD. I LOVE this place. I first discovered it when I was studying at a cafe across the street and was enticed by the number of reviews. My friends and I decided to try it and we were in love. One got the tacos, another ordered the asada plate, and I got the Colima's burrito. We were not disappointed! Every item was hot and flavorful. More importantly, the portions were giant. We had enough food for at least 2 meals. Even better, there's a salsa bar and the avocado salsa was my favorite. I've been back a few times and have not deviated from the Colima's burrito. I love it. Staff are always polite and efficient with food. There is indoor and outdoor seating as well. Check it out if you're hungry; it's open 24 hours, and it's the perfect place for a late-night bite.
google avatar

Jake B.

Yelp
Really enjoyable meal here. I ordered a breaded fish burrito, and a shrimp taco, both of which were high quality and delicious. It was a lot of food for one person, but I wanted to eat more. Would recommend!
google avatar

Ramiro H.

Yelp
It's 210 am and they're the only place open, and they're extremely tasty. Prices are reasonable and extremely great value. I Uber'd all the way from gas lamp to get here and it was well worth it. Staff was super friendly and accommodating. I'm bringing my entire generation to this venue when they're able. Solid AF!
google avatar

Alana F.

Yelp
This is my third time visiting Colima's in North Park and I have to say that this was probably my best order yet! I got the Bandido Burrito which was PACKED with carne asada, delicious rice and beans, but the chile reno in it is the real showstopper. The burrito was just under $11 which beats the price of other burritos and/or similar items. They have great salsa selections along with grilled and pickled onions to top your meal off. No matter when you visit, the drive thru is slammed but they're quick to take orders. I sat inside this time and there are some benches out back which was nice for enjoying the cool night breeze. The restaurant inside was also full of people which is always a good sign for any establishment. The service wasn't anything noteworthy, but they were friendly enough and super quick when it came to getting our food. I've also ordered the Carne Asada Fries and California Burrito -- both hefty portions with good flavor. I'll def be back and recommend it to anyone looking for a quick bite around North Park!
google avatar

William J.

Yelp
I had a grub hub order... not a fan of grub hub but do it sometimes.. chips were left out of my order.. I called the restaurant.. manager says... oh well... take it up with grub hub..what is Mexican food without chips? That I paid for and didn't get... food was outstanding but I won't be back.

Ciaran S.

Yelp
Hands down the worst Asada Fries I've ever had. Had about the same amount of meat as a street taco.
google avatar

Anna S.

Yelp
Ordered a carne asada burrito for breakfast this morning for delivery via grub hub. Food was delivered within 30-40 mins or so and was still warm. There wasn't an option to add hot salsa through the app however they still manage to put 1 red & 1 green salsa which I appreciated. I was pleasantly surprised at the size of the burrito as it was a big decent size compared to other places. The guac and Mexican salsa in the burrito tasted really fresh, and the carne asada meat was also really good! Burrito was not wet or oily at all which sometimes is the case for most places, but not this one. Overall, really good burrito! I probably wouldn't go out of my way to visit their location however I would def order from them via delivery again if I'm craving a burrito or Mexican food!

Yelp
First time at Culima's Mexican Food. I've heard a lot of good things about this place. Today I ordered their CALIFORNIA BURRITO. Overall I give this burrito 4 STARS. The burrito comes with pico de gallo, guacamole, sour cream and cheese. The tortilla was too big for my taste. The first couple bites are like 40% tortilla. Maybe order it cut in half and start from the middle. The carne was good but didn't have that true carne asada taste. The fries were a little too thick for my taste in a CALI BURRITO. Some bites had too much tortilla and fries. The guacamole and pico where on point. It's a solid burrito but not a 5 STAR in my book. The 2 of their SALSAS were a big help to this burrito. They have 4 salsas: SALSA ROJA: My favorite of the 4. It has a slightly thick texture but runny enough to pour smoothly. It's not chunky. It has a nice kick. Kinda spicy so test it out first. You can tell this salsa has been perfected over the years. SALSA VERDE: It wasn't bad. A little too sour for my taste. Like the tomatillos got a little sour or something. GUACAMOLE SALSA - my second favorite of the 4. This one has a nice sour kick in a good way. A hint of like gives you that little sour kick which I enjoyed. SALSA HABANERO - Great taste. Like most habanero salsas, it burned my taste buds like Khalisi did King's Landing. I didn't get to experience the ambiance. I didn't even check to see if they had any seating anywhere. Overall a good experience here. They have a very deep menu. I feel like their have other things on their menu that will be bomb. I just went with a basic order to feel them out. Not a bad start. I will come back here for sure

Yelp
Crazy long line for the drive thru when we were there but we found a parking spot and dined in and are so glad we listened to the referral from a local to try this out. It was fast and delicious and fresh! 10 out of 10 stars.

Yelp
Mind you we came at almost 2am and it was packed. We ordered food and it came out fairly quickly but it was cold. My roll tacos were cold with a huge cold piece of avocado. The cheese was not melted and the tomatoes look questionable. My friend's chicken quesadilla had huge chicken pieces and tasted weird. Maybe overly cooked from the reheating. Definitely not traditional Mexican food.

Yelp
Colima's is located only a few blocks from one of our favorite bars. So anytime we go there, we're definitely going to hit up Colima's. Late night here can be a little dicey so be aware of your surroundings, even if you're heavily buzzed. Smart drunk. Anyhoo, I usually order one thing and that's their hard shell potato taco. I mean, I don't just have the one taco, more like 4. Colima's shells are so crispy, potato filling moist all topped with lettuce and a sprinkling of cheese then I douse in their house green sauce. Just hits right! I've ordered a breakfast burrito once, it wasn't very good. The eggs tasted overcooked. Fortunately green sauce helped but ever since I just stick to potato tacos. Until next time.
