I tried to apply and was finally accepted for the third term I applied to because their admin "never got my transcripts" that I had paid for multiple occasions to be sent over electronically and securely. I finally was able to attend for an 8 week course and took summer off. They put a hold on my account a couple of days after my spring classes had ended and need me to turn my official high school transcripts in AGAIN. I had been to the school multiple times to try and do everything in person. While I was there they stated that almost everything had to be done online and told me that I did not need to come in. While I did attempt to do things from home it would take forever to process or even set up an appointment with the counselors. I went IN PERSON so that I can make sure they absolutely received all my documents. I went to drop off my official transcript but they said they couldn't take it because it wasn't their department or if they did take it, it would have been through online. You just get pushed around to different people who don't know how to solve your problems. When applying for advising meetings they ask which department advisor you are trying to book for but when I was told to contact someone for what I needed they said they don't do departments anymore so it does not matter who I book my appointment with. It all sounds confusing trying to explain because no one knows what is going on. Better off choosing a different school because you barely get the support you need. Certain teachers are good at teaching and helping you with your classes but outside of that the teacher's can't anything about things like financial aid, administrative work, or advising.

I am immensely grateful for my experience at the College of Southern Nevada (CSN). Even though I have graduated from UNLV, I still consider CSN as my alma mater. CSN provided me with numerous opportunities and placed a strong emphasis on prioritizing students. I was privileged to join the Student Ambassador program within the Department of Recruitment & College Connections and had the utmost honor of serving as President for the Phi Theta Kappa Honor Society. These remarkable opportunities, coupled with navigating a change of major to business, truly inspired me to pursue a career in Human Resources (HR). Without the guidance of the wonderful professors, phenomenal advisors, and supportive coworkers at CSN, I am uncertain where I would be today. I appreciated the diverse age range of students at CSN, with the average student age being 27 during my attendance. Learning from such a varied group enriched my educational experience, fostering countless connections and cherished memories. Upon graduating with my Associate's in Business in 2021, I wished that CSN offered a Bachelor's in Human Resources so I could have continued my education there. However, after completing my Bachelor's at UNLV, I reflect on the profound impact CSN had on shaping my future for the better. I am grateful for choosing community college over directly enrolling at UNLV. Additionally, obtaining numerous scholarships at CSN significantly minimized my out-of-pocket expenses, allowing me to graduate without the burden of financial strain. The experience at CSN remains vivid in my mind even after completing my undergraduate degrees. I wish more people understood the excellence of this institution. Thank you, CSN, for everything.

Had to withdraw a few days after the semester started upon finding out my father had stage 4 cancer. I tried to appeal the fees and provided necessary documentation as proof but, my appeal was glazed over and denied (it was painfully obvious that nobody actually read my appeal). The almost $1000 I had to pay back for withdrawing just 3 days after the semester started would have helped my dying father immensely. This school does not care about its students, they just want your money.

I’ve been trying to graduate with my bachelor’s degree and I can’t take certain classes because I can’t technically enroll in the bachelor’s program. I’ve talked to the advising counselor, registrar, and the head of the department but no one has been any help. Really considering dropping out because I genuinely cannot finish my degree. Would not recommend that anyone go here.

Even from a community college standpoint this is a terrible school. Administration is completely hands off, every single thing is automated in their system. Which means if THEIR system makes an error they don’t even have the power to fix it. Financial aid office is completely unhelpful because, as I stated, they don’t have the power to help. Neither does the “help desk” which is completely useless, so much so, I’m not even sure why this college is staffed? “Everything is automated and we can’t do anything.” That’s the answer you’ll hear over and over again when trying to fix an issue. I couldn’t even get their payment system to work, so if you do get registered for classes, good luck keeping your standing in those classes if you can’t pay up immediately. They’ll drop you and then you won’t qualify for financial aid for that semester because you re-registered too late. No they can’t make an exception, everything is on an extremely buggy automated system.

The ADN bridge program is severely dysfunctional and disorganized, characterized by poor communication, chaos, and a lack of accountability. Instructors display bias, disrespect, and unprofessionalism toward students, allowing their personal issues and opinions to interfere with appropriate conduct. The director allows instructors to make false allegations again based on personal opinions, particularly towards those who ask questions due to the ongoing issues within the program and who do not tolerate disrespect. The corruption is evident because there will be no proper investigation conducted allowing students to defend themselves against false accusations. In addition, instructors are not held accountable for creating their own narratives. Unfortunately, instead of providing meaningful support, the environment sets students up for failure. If you aim to successfully complete your ADN, I would strongly advise against this program.

I started my journey in education focusing my core studies on computer science at the College of Southern Nevada over 20 years ago. Now, my son is starting his adventure at CSN for his two year in Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity network engineering, and then transferring over to UNLV. The Charleston Campus is our primary location that I used to go to, and now my son goes to. He recently had to take a multiple exams to get his Microsoft certification in Office applications. All exams were provided at the Charleston College of Southern Nevada. College of Southern Nevada operates multiple campuses including Charleston, Cheyenne, Henderson, and North Las Vegas. There are several learning centers as well. CSN offers a wide range of academics and career focused programs including associate degrees, certificates, and multi pathways for transfer to four year universities. Some of their studies include business, health sciences, information technology, engineering, education, and the arts. I really enjoyed my time at CSN! My son is as well. The teachers and the community are fantastic. There are flexible learning options including online and evening classes. If you're looking to start your educational journey, I'd highly recommend CSN as a place to go to if you're local in Las Vegas!

Where do I begin? From the process of enrolling to now being in the semester, this college has been the worst school I have ever attended. To even be admitted I had to call the enrollment office every week for FOUR weeks. This is after being told it is only a 10 day wait to be admitted upon filing out enrollment. The financial aid and cashiers office will tell you BLATANT LIES and completely false information to just get you off the phone. Figuring out the financial aid process and enrolling in Classes is an absolute goose chase. The faculty and administrators here do not care about their students, we are simply just a pawn in their route to receiving a paycheck. If you are a parent or student considering coming here versus attending a four year university straight away I would highly recommend attending a four year university instead of waisting your time here. The graduation rate is so low here because they DO NOT CARE ABOUT THEIR STUDENT! - Sincerely, a frustrated student of CSN.

College courses taught accurate material. Interested in studying and furthering education towards another diploma.

The nursing program has a massive problem with professionalism. A large percentage of the faculty do not care about their job at all, and openly disrespect the students and other staff. When I was a student and escalated this problem, it was completely ignored. Save your money or go to Nevada State University instead.

Academic Advisor Carmelita Gay was absolutely endearing and had the patience and demeanor of a child and family therapist! My daughter asked me to go into the appointment with her (I tried not to chime in) and Carmenita wasn't annoyed... at least she didn't show signs of being annoyed. ‍ I am grateful for the experience she provided to my daughter. If your child is a first year college student and need guidance you would be doing yourself a favor to ask for Carmelita. I'm sure all of the advisors are wonderful but Carmelita is exceptional!

I wasn't going to post this again because of sensory issues I think everybody needs to do their research of course deciding on going to school because this school very much crooked the professor do not care and do not like to admit when they do wrong they think the students are wrong and they did to be adults not all the professors were like this Because of them are good but the majority of them are make them bad so please do your best before you decide on going to school for education .

This is a corrupt school. When I attend I was apart of student government post COVID when I advocated for African American students I was ostracized, bullied and harassed by staff from all different levels of influence in the school. When I spoke about how funds were being allocated recklessly I was treated even worse. Despite my working and clocking in, they would not pay me until I reached out to the State Legislature and the Anti Slavery Coalition I noticed that the harassment followed me to UNLV and post graduation. I was targeted with fake fees, held to an impossible standard in classes where other students were clearly lacking an understanding of the concepts being taught but somehow they were doing fine in the class. I guess what I am saying is this is a bad school, the people who work here are bad people who bully, they mistreat and abuse their own employees, which is why students and members of the public are also treated poorly. They misuse the funds they are allotted.

The nursing program is a nightmare, save ur time and money and go where they actually care enough to help you pass such a difficult program. You're thrown to the sharks at csn

5 stars mainly for the library! Sitting in one place studying for hours makes me cold and my go to study place the computer lab is already freezing. A professor mentioned in should try the library and it was the best decision ever! The whole campus is cute and cozy but this is definitely my favorite college library! Cute little study places and lots of natural light and dim light.

If you attend CSN, beware of history professor Dr. Sondra Cosgrove and Academic Success Center Director Dr. Shellie Keller. I had taken two history classes with Dr. Cosgrove, earned an A in both of them, and thought we had a good rapport. I later asked her for a letter of recommendation for a certain opportunity, and she enthusiastically agreed and assured me that the letter would be strong. Well, I was denied the opportunity and later discovered that she defamed me in the letter. (Long story, but I actually saw the letter.) I've already sued her and CSN but wanted to warn others about her as well. In an unrelated experience, I was employed as a Writing Tutor at CSN's Writing Center, directed by Dr. Shellie Keller. Dr. Keller has no regard for students' or employees' lives, as she insisted that all tutors return to work in person during the pandemic--including those who had disability accommodations to work online. I filed multiple complaints against her to no avail and ultimately ended up suing CSN over this matter. While I cannot speak to the quality of every CSN professor or faculty member, I highly recommend avoiding these two. Also understand that if you have an issue with your education or employment at CSN, CSN will defend the wrongdoing and the tortfeasor(s) no matter how clearly in the wrong they are.

Worse community college!! Go to a trade school! I'm going through the process of admissions with CSN. This is the most stressful process ever, they give you the RUN AROUND. No one wants to help, they think you should automatically know where to go and who to speak to. If you're looking towards any health programs its hard to speak or make an appointment with a health program advisor. The system at CSN is created for you to fail! The only community college in Las Vegas .. horrible ! do not go here I regret paying out of pocket I would of took my money and ran to a trade school

I have attended CSN for over 2 years now and their course requirements page and setup along with their academic advisors are a complete joke. My first advisor set my second semester schedule up to have two classes that I don't need whatsoever for my degree; but I suppose that's my fault for trusting the one of the school's academic advisors on that information. Moving forward to now, the requirements for the core basic classes needed for my degree (Basic classes everyone has to take such as ART, BIO, ANTH, etc...) have been changed which means I have now taken even more classes that don't even count as an elective. (I am attending CSN online for an associates degree in Computer Science). I'm so happy I was instructed to take 3 ANTH courses that don't count anymore! (:

I had a great experience with Csn. I was chosen to get a deep cleaning. Hadn't had one in over 10 years. I was very ashamed of my smile and also had a great fear of going to the dentist. They made me feel very comfortable. Everyone was so gentle, caring and nice. Especially Dawn. It took me almost 6/7 months to get everything completed and it was well worth it. They even treated my gums and taught me about periodontal care. They are professional and most of all really nice people! If I could rate them a 10 I would. Thanks CSN & Dawn. My teeth look great.

I was almost done with the paralegal program and quit. I'm a retired RN and my hope was to work for an attorney who dealt in malpractice. I couldn't take it anymore though. How the professors even call themselves professors is shocking. They teach you nothing and then throw a paper back at you telling all the things you did wrong. Well I wonder why? No one taught me! I would be told to read pages a-z and then write a paper. If I had any questions, I would either not get an email back or a snotty response days after my assignment was due. No lectures, no pre recorded lectures, no pre recorded videos walking you through a task, nothing. Just a read this and do it and hope for a passing grade. They did not want me to succeed, they didn't care. I was just a number who submitted a paper they didn't want to grade. I'm now in a masters program (to become a biology teacher) and what a night and day experience. My professors answer me back within 24 hours and encourage me to book calls with them. They want me to succeed. If I do a task wrong, no biggie I just need to fix it and turn it back in. That's what learning is about. You make a mistake and you fix it. I would NEVER treat my students the way these instructors treated me, it was despicable and abhorrent. I am thankful for one thing, dropping out led me to a better career path.

Everyone is rude. They set you up for failure from day 1. No wonder Nevada ranks lowest in education in the country.

Great experience with RN Jill today. She assisted us with acquiring our IV certification. She was thorough and hands on with our training. Super helpful with vein locations and strategies. The Equipment was in EXCELLENT shape. Great IV supplies COMMON to many of the healthcare facilities in the surrounding area. I was able to sharpen my skills. I would recommend the course if you need your IV Cert.

CSN was a great school for me! So proud to have been a part of it! They offer online and in person classes. Most the professors also teach at UNLV.

This school is great if you're just looking for some quick school to be done with! My kid was in the CSN High School program and he loved it! He thought it was just the best. He transferred right after his senior year when he got his associates, and the credits transferred relatively well! The professors can be kind of strange, you just have to pick the right ones. It's not the same kind of college as other ones, as it used to be a Community College. So don't expect to get the same kind of social life as other colleges! As I said, it's great for some quick classes.

I transferred here two semesters ago and I regret it so much. This school has some of the worst and most naive professors I have ever encountered. Online classes have professors who don't even know how to use the internet let alone Canvas. I have submitted several complaints to which none have been addressed. Getting an appointment with an advisor in the vet center is borderline impossible because their scheduling system only goes a week out and it's always full. After sitting through 8 classes so far I genuinely don't know how this school is accredited, save yourself the heartache and go literally anywhere else. Thanks!

I've tried calling twice about going back to school for Medical Assisting, and both times I've been given the run around. I was told to just apply. I wanted information about the program, and how much it would have cost. If they are already giving me issues, I can only imagine how it would be later on. This school seems money hungry, and not useful. I'll look elsewhere. Disappointing.

Terrible school. Most classes are a joke with little to no teaching done by the professors. Instead, we have to complete McGraw Hill "assignments". McGraw Hill has online books where you just answer BS questions from an online textbook that's already highlighted. To top this off, they are the epitome of money-grubbing. If you drop an 8 week class on the very first day, they will still force you to pay for half the tuition. That's right, $250 for the privilege of logging on once, getting to actually see the syllabus(because you can't see that before the first day, oh no!) and seeing it's yet another McGraw Hill worksheet busywork class, and immediately dropping. Don't worry, you can appeal, but unless you have an immediate family member drop dead (and provide proof via death certificate!), they're holding onto half the tuition. Doesn't matter that it's a pandemic and the unemployment offices haven't paid anyone in months, doesn't matter if they have a waitlist and your spot (and tuition money) will be immediately covered. Disgusting. Wouldn't recommend this college to anyone. Transfer to a real school or pay $100 to McGraw Hill and you'll get the same amount of "learning".

I recently completed my second semester of online classes through CSN. It was difficult to get ahold of information about enrolling initially. The school seemed very understaffed last year during COVID-19. I probably would have started a semester earlier if I'd been able to receive more help. I have nothing but good things to say about my classes. I signed up for two classes that sounded like they might be fun, and one of them started me down a completely new life path. Hopefully I'll be finished with an associates degree after two more semesters. Things seem to be getting back to normal at the Charleston campus. The library is open and the library staff is very helpful in assisting with academic research. The campus is a relaxing and calming place to study. I recommend CSN, just be patient when initially enrolling and be prepared to go through several people to get information at times.

For someone trying to get his smarts on, I made the stupid move to register with only 3 weeks left to the start of the semester. Long lines, no open appointments, Blah, Blah blah, procrastinator, blah, lazy bum, what do I want to be, snooze, WAKE UP! Soooooo...Was not expecting the staff of CSN to mimic the grey weather we are having outside today. Hardly any smiles at all. Not only were they looking zombieish, (haha maybe exaggerating a bit), but they had the "I don't want to be here", or "hurry up" attitude. Lets just hope its the Monday blues, seeing as this will be my institution of higher learning for a couple of years before I transfer. Hate to be in this establishment to slowly turn into the walking dead. Ai Knee Ways! Wait times for student aid, placement tests and for counseling were pretty decent today. My adviser was probably one of the few that wanted to show her teeth. Well educated, resourceful, gave me some good pointers and direction, and then time ran out. One thing is, counselors are a stickler to being persistent, well at least mine was. If 10:30 to 11 is the appointment, that's all you get. So if you do happen to have an appointment and an abundance of questions, be ready. Know what you want to ask, or if your up in the air like me, make 2 consecutive appointments back to back. If you don't use the full hour, cool, at least there's no rush. Now back to the dreadful sad faces of the staff. Just kidding! The campus itself was pretty inviting and clean. Easy parking in both front and rear of the building. Not a very attractive neighborhood, but conveniently located in walking distance to Walmart, home depot, restaurants, banks, and bars. So if your looking for work while attending classes and do not have a car, you have choices. So far not too impressed, but it's something thats only going to be in my life for a short period of time, and then I will be a smarty pants, I mean, I will rule the world! HAHA.. I plan on updating the review as soon as I experience more, so don't touch that dial, for you young kids, do not exit tab.

I think out of all the campuses this one is by far the best. All the buildings look new and are very clean. I think I had a class in building A and it was a pretty old, run down building but now it's been renovated and looks amazing. There's plenty of parking everywhere and equipment (chairs, computers, etc) are not run down. The library is very accessible with late hours. There are a lot of models for all my Bio students! Anatomy was hard enough! The models helped me get through it. Most of the main buildings have a mini cafe in it so you Can order some caffeine or snacks to munch on. Overall great environment. I like CSN vs UNLV because of the class sizes. I am able to be heard and to be seen at CSN where as when I was at UNLV, I had a full bio class with about or over 100 students.

I applied and was able to waitlist classes the week before they started. 8/28, I log in and my waitlisted classes disappeared. No emails, no warnings, nothing. I call counseling on 8/29 and they say "you have to be enrolled in a class by a certain date or they drop you." I'm not sure that's the situation here, but whatever I'm not in a hurry. I waitlist the same course numbers but for the 8 week versions starting in Oct. I get an email this afternoon that I got in, so I need to go pay. I can't log in to my account. I couldn't even figure out why until I tried to manually log in to the school email (I got the waitlist email forwarded to my regular account). School email website says I'm locked and to contact the administrator. Who even is that??? I call the helpdesk and they say I have to contact the call center. I call the call center and they say I have to contact the registrar. It's 4:55 pm and today is Friday. I call the registrar and they say I have to go in with my ID because they want to know I'm a real person, thank you, goodbye. I have never heard of such a thing in my life! When I went to university a decade ago, they never asked for proof of my existence! When I got my doctorate, I just had to upload my ID. WHAT IS THIS?! Now I'm going to lose this waitlist spot too because someone conveniently placed this hold on my account yesterday afternoon and didn't send any emails or anything. What if I were a new high school grad who didn't know how to find out any information? They would just put my life on hold like this?

Terrible. Someone in the IT department needs to make it easier for students to enroll etc. I have been on hold and can't enroll because the system says I haven't taken the student orientation. I have taken it 2 times. Then when I try to setup an appointment for the testing center, I can't. This is terrible. I'm a disabled veteran and am going to take courses through study.com, straighter line, and sophia. This is terrible. Your school website makes it extremely discouraging for students.

Literally the worst experience I have ever had at a school. Worst campus in Nevada, staff is not helpful and they make attending the school unbearable. Classes aren't bad but the difficulty of getting into classes as is and just using my csn alone makes this school suck. If I had to go back and do it again, I wouldn't. I genuinely would rather not have a degree then waste my time again.

I mean...it's for sure one of the only options. If you've ever done dual enrollment, be on the lookout for financial aid holds on your account once you graduate high school. Your account may constantly revert to high school student level, meaning if you don't catch their glitch in time no FAFSA money for you! There are some amazing professors, but frankly not enough to make a difference. Student staff is overworked and underpaid, so they're often rude. No one has any incentive to actually assist students. Everything about this school is money grabbing. Even their clubs are fronts for begging college students for spare change...

I was in the international student office asking for them to help my friend that distance, and tell them to do something with it accounts. I didn't ask for the information of my friend at all, then they lying that they already sent the email about the hold on the account with is they are not sent yet until I leave the office them they just sent them email later about the hold. The guy name Kirby, he sent them the email explain thay I was agaist the policy while I didn't ask for the information. I ask them to do something with their account to let them register for classes. Really unprofessional, also, other lady work in international application/admission office is the worse.

Student Services/Registration process is chaotic, over automated, and with rude & unhelpful employees. Not given a single opportunity to ask a question or make an inquiry without being Interrupted, with a hand in my face. Extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience among staff. Not interested in what my question was/or what I needed- only wanted to project her authoritative & angry response. Two of us took time off of work and came in during the walk in times (11:30-6:30) only to be turned away (after waiting for 30 mins. To see a counselor) at 3:00 pm and told to come back mid day the next day. We did- again, taking time off work- our system wait time kept increasing as we continued to wait, not go down. The system & hours are chaotic and with no one capable of answering the simplest of questions (like if we can't wait all day due to work/medical appt., when is optimum time to come back in?" Or, can someone please confirm the increasing time issue- continued increasing 1/2 he after check in) ). That's all we wanted- no one could comprehend our simple question without belligerently slinging insults ("we would just have to come back a 3rd day, with her hand up in my face". ) Seriously? THIS is a public employee?? They are unfit to be in the presence of our young adults. How hard is it to first, seek to understand your customer/client first- before unleashing you personal anger in a tirade? People in this department should be kind, listening & serving. Our kids are watching. Nothing worse than over inflated public employees who lose sight of their job purpose- to aid & assist. Please clean house! Student Services Grade: F

Before you go into the office to ask for help of ANY kind, prepare yourself to be treated like a child who is inconveniencing a busy parent. I'm 30 years old, and I don't tolerate disrespect well anymore, especially not from a 20 year old girl with an attitude. We are students, not inconvenient children. Do better, CSN. You're a joke right now.

Visited CSN today. Boy what a shocker. These poor kids who have to go here must feel like they are being treated like small children quite often. Wondering where your tax dollars went? It went to a a fancy kiosk queue system (just like DMV they said). DMV sees thousands of people per day and have lines out the door the moment they open every morning. It's kind of laughable because this is the only school I've been to, and much larger schools at that, where a line in front of the window would suffice. So there's no one at the windows and no one at their queue when I show up. But I have to enter a queue before they can accept $2 from me. So there's no line at the cashiers desk or any desk for that matter. But you go up and they want you to go to the kiosk, enter your cell number and then wait for a text to go wait in a line of one. Then wait to be called by one of 3 people at the windows. Seriously, this is where you and my tax dollars are going to??? What school charges for an initial ID? No offense to the students or instructors here but boy is this place run by a bunch of yokels. They are lucky my bank isn't here or else I would pay with legal tender in copper Lincolns. Ever seen or of those skits where the yokel town has one person who wears many hats and make you go through the hoops only by putting on a different hat when you go to the same person? Yeah like that. Again, not saying they are all bad but they need to clean house where needed. This is a taxpayer institution not a private school.

Professors here don't seem to care for their student. However I didn't expect much since I graduated from a tier one university. I'm only attending csn due to a pre-req for the roseman pharmacy program. I do like how they offer free parking to students. The library needs more computers for their students since I can never find an available one.

CSN West Charleston have the most unreliable staff members, particularly those at the testing center. You would sense the negative energy as soon as you walk-in. They all looked miserable and offer no help. They simply sit at their workstations and gain weight.

I am completely over the application process for CSN as a guest student. They've provided NO help and I have been in contact with the help desk for over 2 months now. I have not been able to enroll in classes due to the fact that it's completely full AND because they haven't processed my enrollment correctly yet. I'm so upset because I know they have good professors but their enrollment process is a joke.

I would like to give a great review as I did graduate from the Medical Coding Program in May 2020. I obtained my CCS credential in the same month. I might have been one of the oldest students to graduate (61). I'm sorry to say, I felt somewhat abandoned after I left. I know it is my responsibility to acquire my own employment but a little direction would have been nice because my entire life has been spent in gaming (casino). I was fairly lost. Although it is illegal to age discriminate, I have a feeling that was a reason why I wasn't called for one interview, not one. Abandoned, after the thousands of dollars poured into CSN for the education and books.

Why is it impossible to get in contact with the administration for help concerning admissions? I understand it's a difficult time but I had sent my forms in months ago and they just responded saying I was denied in-state residency even though I've lived here for over a year and had the supporting documents to prove it. Now I have to put it off for another semester since I have to submit an appeal.

I would never recommend this school to anyone. You'll never get help admins are very rude they talk to you like you know whats going on specially first time student. Anybody on here thats ranking this school at 5 stars is flat out lying to you. Trust you're wasting time I tried to sign up for a program which was still open. When I emailed the main director of the program hits me back with a email starting it off with "first all" who starts any email with that. Then i tried to find higher ups to help me with these and they had each others backs. I was just concerned on how to get into the program it should 15 emails just find out that its closed. If the program was closed why is it still green on MyCSN. All i have to say is just don't waste your time on this school. I been quiet few schools this is the most unorganized and disrespectful school you'll get.

Run for the hills. I have never dealt with a more dysfunctional college in my life. The importance of attention to detail is extremely important. Let me share why. My name had changed with the school and I followed all steps to get that completed. My teacher so graciously put my grade as an F instead of an A. All because she believed my name was on her roster as a mistake. (I am sure there is some way that I could have been verified...ya know..student number, maybe.) This snowballed a mountain of problems. It started with financial aid. I was denied financial aid because the F that was added dropped my GPA terribly. I then had to run around (3-4 times to the schools) from the English dept to the financial aid office and so on. The financial aid office did me a favor and put a hold on my account so I wouldn't be dropped from classes due to an error of the school. A month later and I had finally gotten the grade fixed appropriately. Then last Friday at 5:30 pm I received a letter that I was dropped from my classes by the cashier's office. HOW??!! When there was a hold on my account. So, yet another negligent action by the school. Now because it was Friday and a three-day weekend (MLK) and 5:30 pm guess who I could get in contact with to fix THEIR issue, AGAIN? You guessed right folks....NOONE. Now here we are Tuesday and classes have begun and I have had to go to the financial aid office to try and get everything squared away. My ONLY blessing from this school has been Ms. Angelica in Financial Aid. This lady is hardworking and goes a million steps beyond what she needs to. She truly needs to go to a different school or receive a huge raise and be a trainer for that department. She is doing all she can to get me back into my classes that I was wrongfully dropped from. I am currently awaiting that decision. So folks, see how one person's actions have spiraled into another screwed up action and has now put the student ("victim") in the situation I am in. All I am saying is do your job right folks. If you're considering this college....good luck. This has been a terrible experience and isn't even the first time this school has messed up. I have also only been here for two semesters and it is a joke. P.S.- all while sitting and waiting there was an academic advisor talking to one of the ladies so rudely. Tall, skinny, African American male, with a super loud voice whose office is next to the financial aid computers. Completely degrading tone of voice and speaking to her like she was an idiot...which she wasn't because you could tell there was a bit of a language barrier. Then another lady, big, curly hair, African American woman came over to me and told me I could not sit there after being directed by the financial aid lady that I could. I told her this and as soon as the financial aid lady came up her tone changed quickly. Like, drop your attitude folks! I explained to you why I was sitting there ....talk to the financial aid office if you don't want people there! Your eye roll and attitude was unnecessary lady!

So after my last post about my test results.. I went back up there to change my address again, and get my results and another kid that doesn't know what they are doing is up front. I asked about changing my address and he points to the 6 computers lined up in the front. All in use by new students registering. So then I asked about finding out about my test results and he tells me that they don't take care of it anymore and I have to go to a website to find them. I take a deep breath and turn away for a second wondering why this was happening.. I ask him why when I talked to someone on the phone two weeks ago they told me the school was the only place to get them because they can't give information over the phone.. He says he doesn't know. Point blank. No asking for help. No making sure. No customer service what so ever. He could give a shit. I said a pretty big F bomb and walked out in such a fury. I couldn't believe this was happening.. AGAIN. No one at this school will help me!!!!! I sat outside in tears because I was so frustrated, angry, and confused... I called the number to the school while outside to speak to someone. I got a very nice lady by the name of Ariel on the phone. She helped.. Thank god, someone helped me. She told me she could look it up and she did. I didn't pass. Plain and simple, all I needed to know so I can take it again.. All this time, that's all the shit I needed to know.. Another weird part to this.. they only have my score from last year.. not this year when I took it in may? Where is my results going!? It's not in my paperwork.. and my old address was still on the top page.. I really was ready to take a marker and scratch it out. I hope she erases it.. please... I want to pass so I can never see this school again.. Only reason I have to take the test here is because I paid and they won't allow me to take it at any other unless I pay again. I want to throw up every time I walk in now... to much problems..

The counselors at CSN are a total joke. Each counselor I have dealt with has told me something different every single time about my degree advising me I was done with one and only needed a couple classes for the second. Then to finally tack on needing more credits then are actually needed and having me take classes that don't even count towards any of the degrees I was seeking. I was finally able to apply for graduation to now be told I am still missing credits when this is not what was told to me previously by the previous counselor. Also a counselor was supposed to reach out to me a couple of days later and send me a follow up email. To then never contact me and me having to email a complaint to them in order to be reached back out to, Two months later! Save your time and don't speak to the counselors as the last 4 of them I spoke to each told me something different and neither of them can explain why I was told something different each time.

My concern is more on teachers and counselors. Why is your appointment for counselors always down? Within two weeks I've tried to get an appointment and I even sent an email and no one has responded! DO YOUR JOB

Fine to do your prerequisites but stay far far away from the nursing program. The program is a complete poop show and the professors for the most part are completely unprofessional. Dr. Jones made inappropriate comments during clinicals and upon voluntary withdrawal from the program Dr. Martin kept telling me that my feelings were "untrue". I have a right to my opinions and even with my 4.0 I wouldn't spend one more dime or time at this joke of a program. Go to Chamberlain, UNLV, or Nevada State College.

Not my favorite place to be, but hey, gotta get my degree and start somewhere. The free parking is great, but can only make you like a school so much. The campus is small and the buildings are labeled alphabetically. The building with the financial aid and cashiers office or getting any help for that matter, expect a wait and a non reliable text message system. If you want to pay $2 to get a student ID, no you cannot just get in line, you have to sign in. When it comes to getting help in any building, less is really more, try not to have much expectations. For the classes, they are small class sizes which is great if you want to get the individual attention, but if you're the type to skip class, the professor will definitely notice. You have the wide range of professors from those who simply teach and do not really care for the class to those who expects you to call them Dr.___ and take a required class way too seriously. I'm just glad I'm done, if you're looking for a cheap option to get a degree, this is it!

The incompetence of their financial aid department and admission Department is utterly ridiculous! When a student gets funding and has proof of their funding their financial department decides they can pick and choose whether or not they're going to give that student their funding even when they pick the appropriate classes every single semester you will have to fight for your funding! My son and daughter were both born and raised in Las Vegas Nevada. They also completed all of their education in Las Vegas Nevada. When applying to CSN they turned in their High School diplomas, birth certificate when applying at CSN . And what do you think happened next?? They got denied school that semester because CSN said they did not prove residency now they graduated from a high school in Las Vegas Nevada they have a birth certificate from Las Vegas Nevada they were applying the semester after graduating high school. It wasn't the students that drop the ball it was the administration of CSN that dribbled and missed the hoops ! Why you must ask can such a thing happened???? Students should have the right to get an education ! Remember these young people are our future and without them we have no future. My daughter is a Nevada born and raised. She is a hard-working young lady she works full time and is putting herself through college . She is soon to be a single mother with her first child and with all this she is still enrolled still picked her classes to continue her education. But this financial department is taking away her right of Education! She is fully qualified for funding, but they are denying her right of Education! My question is why is there not an internal audit into this financial department at CSN? Why isn't this instatution being held Accountable? Because if she is getting funding and they are being funded in her name where is her funds being distributed to? When they run Media advertisements apply @ CSN.... The commercial conveniently leaves out critical fact about what hoops the students must jump through. Mean while understaffed , uneducated department supervisors are hiring people that CAN NOT actually get you through the process! I think a few things needs to be redone at csn... I went to the school needing assistant with a few questions and a guy at the d building, Charleston campus at the testing area kept saying "I don't know, over an over and over again..was so annoying, and just starred at me like he just didn't care. I finally ask what do you know? He said "Go to our website".... really!!!!!! Was so pissed, drove all the way there just to be told "I don't know" then there campus website, login, canvas, registration, password reset is a nightmare, you get the round around..but you get the since no one really cares to help the current students or new students..if they can redo there website and maybe replace a few LAZY employees this would be a better school.. I do have to note the teachers/professors that I had for the CNA program were awesome..but took me months to get in cause of lazy employees with there "I don't know/don't care" attitude sucks!

Csn is the only college I have ever attended so I don't have anything to compare it to. That being said I love csn. Sure, not every experience is the greatest but why would you expect it to be? I've had a couple of stand out professors who I love and am grateful for taking their class and a few professors who you could tell didn't care much about their job. But for the most part I enjoy coming to campus and getting the job done. If your looking for that "college experience" you proabbaly shouldn't have attended a community college to begin with. But if your looking to better your future and further your education csn can help you do that. I love the library. And shout out to Anne who works in testing for being an amazing person. She made my Christmas

This school literally sucks so bad i am saddened that is one of the few choices here in southern nevada. It has been the most complicated, difficult and frustrating time just signing up. Just looking for classes is stressful as you can't even search by class # you have to go one by one. Financial aid sucks Ive been trying to get through to someone for days. Everything about the support needed to get signed up to the costs of classes for non residents is ridiculous I owe 1557 for TWO classes. That is almost 800$ each course not including books or anything else. This is ridiculous and sad. And not even good quality teachers or courses. The worst schooling in the country is here in nevada. Its hard to get the degree you want with these kind of obstacles why would i pay so much for such low quality and support? Wtf am i paying for?!
