Colombi Hotel

I visited the restaurant many times and was never disappointed. Excellent quality food and service. Attention to detail. I feel truly valued as a patron. Even going for tea or coffee and sweets is an experience to truly enjoy. A reservation is recommended during busy times.

An easy walk from the train station. It made me feel like I was in a movie in the best sort of way. Attentive staff, comfortable bed, clean room--everything you need. We enjoyed the bar and the breakfast spread. It was lovely, and they offer about any amenity you need. Beautiful and worth the price.

The hotel is ok for a quick stopover. Parking costs and breakfast costs almost doubled our original booking costs so beware. The rooms and lobby seem a little dated.Staff were friendly and breakfast was a little on the disappointing side which i am not used to in Germany .

Everything you would expect from a 5 star hotel. Service was impeccable from start to finish, a great Michelin star restaurant in the location, all the little touches down very well. The price of the room and stay was great value. The restaurant good value, and the location fantastic. If visiting the region again will definitely be back.

A very nice, top-notch hotel in the beautiful Black Forest province. Classic hospitality, beautiful rooms, excellent breakfast, first class service. The room is equipped with everything you need, even some good books. A bit old-fashioned - in a good sense - but extremely pleasant.

This hotel is amazing. It is old-fashioned in a modern way. The pool is fantastic, and the food is delicious. Hans, the bartender, was quite nice and made the stay ever better. The proximity to the old town is great as well. I highly recommend to all coming to Freiburg. It is truly worth the money. Just don’t come wearing a Bayern München jersey… we made that mistake.

Service was absolutely substandard for a hotel of this category. Shocking. Not sure if it’s the racism other viewers have identified. Among others, I got yelled at and called a liar by front desk staff when I (correctly) stated that I had in fact just been served in an area they claimed they couldn’t serve me in because it was closed (the bar people had just told my dad, my brother and I that it was open and we could sit there). When I demanded the respect a customer should be able to demand (ie not be called a liar) the front desk person became threatening and raised their voice to me - in the middle of the lobby. I have stayed here several times in my life but I will never be back. Verbally attacking customers should be deemed unacceptable behavior anywhere, let alone a Leading Hotel of the World. The hotel itself is nice, location in Freiburg unbeatable.

The location of the hotel is great, its facilities are in good condition, with an excellent restaurant and the staff of the hotel anticipated our needs at all times! We recommend the hotel wholeheartedly and it is ideal for a romantic weekend scape.

Intimate hotel with great attention to detail. Maybe one of my favorite bars in the world. Low lighting, rich paneled wood, bar tender in tuxedo, piano player and a real fire place l.

This is fabulous hotel. My husband and I stayed there for three weeks when I took a course at the Max Planck Institute (which is just up the road a bit) during the summer. When we arrived they had provided us with fresh fruit and bottled water, as well fresh flowers. Fresh flowers were put in the room regularly. I would get so hot walking back from class in the heatwave they had that summer, that my husband would turn the AC up in our room, which got to frigid levels. The hotel doesn't skimp on anything. Our room came with free morning breakfast (not all do), which was an incredible buffet the likes of which Las Vegas would be proud. The hotel staff was welcoming, the maids were perfection, and the room itself (a suite really) was both comfortable and beautiful. It has wonderful views and is right in the midst of town. It is very clean in the common areas and the pool area is immaculate. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.
