Colombo Kitchen Putney - Hopper and Kottu Bar

Food overall was amazing! The highlight was the Blackened Fish. It’s a weekend special dish so if you’d like to try, come on Sat or Sun. Friendly Staff, especially Kesh - he was nice and gave the best recommendations. My boyfriend and I will definitely come back again! 😊

We were very excited to dine at Colombo Kitchen after having tried Kolamba and Hoppers earlier in the week, but unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Dinuka was extremely welcoming and the staff were all very nice, but unfortunately there were too many “misses” (coming from the perspective of a group of Sri Lankans). -Milk hoppers were not done right; excessive coconut cream that was added after the fact rather than ‘integrated’ into the hopper -Watalapan lacked cardamom -Biscuit pudding was overly sweet -Seafood Kothu portion was very small and lacked sufficient seafood -Black pork curry wasn’t dry and missing the “black” spices and felt more like a regular pork curry -significant delay between egg hoppers and milk hoppers, first batch of cocktails and second batch -my Colombo toddy cocktail felt overly sweet and lacking sufficient alcohol On the positive side: -fish cutlets were good -chicken curry was made spicy as per our request and had good flavour -egg hopper was done to perfection and came with black pepper -aubergine moju was a nice contrast to the other dishes because of its sweetness -lamprais meat was a little dried out but overall the dish was decent -fried okra was lightly battered and was a great appetizer Overall, I would recommend Colombo Kitchen for their warm hospitality and earnestness. And if you aren’t a Sri Lankan food connoisseur, you will probably be quite pleased with the food, especially since they will customize to your desired spice level.

We went for dinner here and it was great! The staff were really friendly from arrival and made our dining experience very welcoming. The dishes were packed with flavour and instantly took us back to our holiday to Sri Lanka. The staff were friendly and it was good to chat with them about our trip. We will definitely be returning!

We went to the Worcester park branch alot and when we found out that a local Putney branch was going to open we were excited. Finally we had the opportunity to go and all the excitement was worth it. The food was so delicious. The staff were so warm and welcoming as is typical with Colombo staff. The food impressed us yet again with its amazing quality and beautiful presentation. Even though that this is a branch from the main restaurant everything was prepared with precise consistency as if we were dining in the main branch. Bravo!

We were well impressed by this restaurant. I enjoyed the lumprice - it was excellent . One of the best I have had in London. Enjoyed the food with a smooth lion larger😊. Superb and friendly service from Kesh and Dinu. Highly recommended for authentic Sri Lankan food.

We had dinner at Colombo Kitchen yesterday and it was great. I've heard of the restaurant before but never made it there as we're not located closeby so went in while we were in London. The menu is vast with lots of Sri Lankan dishes. We went for regular and egg hoppers as it's a quick meal to have and it was brilliant. Would have preferred to have the crusts to be a bit more crunchy but the hoppers were thick so they were filling. The Kopi was on point and a must try and this is coming from a fellow Sri Lankan. Pricing was slightly higher end but that's aligned to other restaurants in the area. Highly recommended!

Excellent cuisine, service and atmosphere. We Egg Hopper, Shared Platter, Mutton Lampais, Paratha Roti , all cooked to perfection. Keshera was a great host. Will certainly be going back

Came with mu friends to colombo Kitchen and we had the best authentic srilankan food ever. The service was impeccable and the guy Dinuka looked after us the whole time with his smile made us feel at home. I highly recommend King Prawn curry and Kutti rotting. Thank you for the great food n service we definitely coming back
