I'm really sad to have to write this review, but I have to say, I have never in my life seen a business fall as hard as Colombo's has in the last 20 years. This deli is a shell of its former self. There are no longer grocery items, Italian imports, or freshly made Italian specialties. There is no energy or excitement. Nothing. The deli is basically 90% empty and it is extremely dirty. It's creepy actually and very uncomfortable. Ohhh Colombo's what a sad state you are in my old friend.
Now to the Sandwiches. Wow, they were so bad I could only eat half of one before tossing the 2nd half to my dog. The bread was stale and literally breaking apart, as if it were made from one gigantic crouton. This bread was likely 4-5 days old, extremely dry, and falling apart b/c it was so brittle and stale. It was 100% not edible, and if I hadn't driven home 20 miles after purchasing it, I would have returned it. The portion size of the meat has come down by around 60-70% of what it used to be. These were large, robust subs for many, many years, and now they're skimpy and embarrassing looking sandwiches served on 5-day old bread that should more appropriately be used for making croutons. The meats are still passable, but the entire sandwich experience was so weak, there is literally no reason to ever return to this establishment. It's a shame b/c I am a multi-decade regular.
Also, I wouldn't even think about getting any of the salad items in the deli case, they all looked old, definitely not fresh, and very unsanitary.
COLOMBO'S - If you are going out of business, just close your doors and move. Don't raise prices and fleece your customers on the way out the door. That's lame.
