Celebrated my birthday with friends at this great little place in Anaheim! They only have small bites, but everything was delicious. The staff was very friendly, helpful and attentive. The three of us all got a different type of wine and we're all very pleased. Love supporting small businesses like this, who seem to truly care about their customers! 💙

Incredible local wine bar. Very friendly staff. The steak frites were delicious. Wines by the glass (and half glass) showcased a lot of the central coast and Paso Robles. Wonderful experience overall.

This has become my favorite place to relax. The wine flight is really good. They have a very good selection of beer. And their food is so delicious. They have food pairings for pretty much all of their wines and beers. On the weekends they have someone playing live music and it fits just right with the romantic atmosphere.

You can't go wrong. Everything here is great. Great wine, great food, great staff. I've been going here for nearly ten years and I've thoroughly enjoyed every visit. They have a great selection of wines and a few food items for service. Their charcuterie plates are a must! I also love the salt and pepper pistachios. They have a small match section with bottles they serve and a curated selection of gourmet food items like crackers, chocolates and jams. I haven't had an item I didn't love. Highly recommend.

I held my bridal shower here and I don’t have enough nice worlds. Sonya was awesome through out the whole process of booking and was so helpful on the day of. I came to visit before hosting my event and everything the spectacular then as well. I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Thank you Sonya for a wonderful day!

It was my first time at this location and I love it. The employees there are really friendly. The atmosphere is perfect to get you in the mood to enjoy a lovely wine of your choice. I would definitely come back to enjoy a glass of wine. My fiancé and I order the humus for appetizer and it is delicious. I would recommend this for the people with a taste in spices since is has a little kick.

Love this local wine bar. It is my favorite. The owners, Mike and Sonja, are great people and the staff are always welcoming. They have a perfect outdoor patio, tasty wine flights, cold beer and yummy small bites and charcuterie to accompany the beverage of your choice. Sonja can answer your wine questions and guide you to the perfect wine to enjoy. Mike is also a killer guitarist and entertains some nights. Just a nice local place to meet with friends…

Talk about hidden cool places... Or maybe it's because I'm not in the area much. In Downtown Anaheim, a few steps from the library and Muzeo, is Colony Wine Merchant, a cute, intimate wine bar where you can munch a little while sipping and talking on some good wines. I came here with a friend and they enjoyed it also since it was somewhere nice where we could just talk and catch up. You can get wine by the glass or bottle here, or you could do one of their featured wine flights. The staff is welcoming and will gladly suggest a wine to match your tastes if you can't decide. There is parking along the streets, but if that is full you can park in the structure to the left of Colony's doors (looks like it's for an apartment structure). They will validate you there for a couple of hours. The mood inside the wine bar is on the quieter side but casually classy. There are no TV screens, no screaming kids (though there were a couple of kids when I was there). I would definitely come back when I'm in the area!

This is a absolute neighborhood gem! I love the ambiance and how cozy this place is. Not only do they have premium wine selections with different weekly wine flights that are curated to perfection, the food options have been upgraded that are chef's kiss. I'm so happy especially about the food menu, they added steak frites and a salmon dish....but in all honesty they have the hands down best fries I've tasted in a very long time. Service is warm and feels like you're visiting your neighbor for a quick drink and good time not to mention the music selection is top tier. Bonus!!: they have live music Thursdays -owner Mike is very talented and plays his guitar like an angel. This place has stolen my heart in Anaheim.

I had been here a number of times for various events, but never for a date night, but I am so happy my husband and I came! We parked in the structure non-residential structure and made the very short walk over. We were treated promptly and were told we couldn't anywhere, so we chose the comfy chairs by the window. We started the evening with wine and the charcuterie board, which was chefs choice, and very good! Highly recommend. We had a couple more glasses of wine and the meatballs, which were so delicious. I highly recommend them! They have a Mediterranean flavor and were definitely something I would order again. We finished the evening with panna cotta and the white port and they were both the perfect ending to an amazing evening together. I would highly recommend you come visit and spend some time here enjoying the food, wine and the company you choose!

Amazing experience here! Started off with some moscato, we are not really wine people so we just ordered something sweet. My friend got the wine flight which was all red wine. We ordered the fries and also meatballs. Both were so good! Also got a charcuterie board which was really good and love that you get to choose which items you want to be a part of it. The inside ambience is so nice. All the workers were very lovely! I will definitely be back!

This wine bar is an Anaheim gem! They offer indoor and outdoor seating. The decor inside is beautiful, and we usually like sitting in there to enjoy it. You can't go wrong with any of their wines, and they are great with suggestions based on your palette. The service is amazing as well. Their food is great too! We love to do a charcuterie plate. The drunken goat cheese is a must! If they happen to have the bread and butter on the menu, you are in for a treat. Warm locally baked cheesy focaccia bread with a homemade chili oil butter. It is one of the best things I have eaten in a long time! And don't forget dessert! Their chocolate chip cookies are to die for and their new flourless chocolate cake (dairy and gluten free) is outstanding. I have also hosted a private event here before, and they were incredibly helpful and accommodating with the planning process. Our guests loved it! I cannot recommend this place enough.

Buyer beware--They close for private parties. This is a good little wine bar with good wine. The few times we've been there they've had good wine and great service. You can imagine my surprise after driving 26 minutes to get there to find out they were closed for a private party. I had checked their website to confirm their hours and saw nothing of a private party closure. The nice lady that came to the door explained that they notify their folks on their social media. Since I and my guests are from areas all over the state, we don't follow them on social media. I suggest you call ahead to be sure they can accommodate you. Luckily we went to our other Standby, The FIFTH rooftop restaurant and caught some Disney magic. Make sure you call. Loony ahead of time because parking is also a challenge and it would suck to park, walk, and then find out they were closed for a private event.

What a cute little gem! Absolutely loved meeting my girlfriends for some wine and charcuterie last night at Colony Wine Merchant. The atmosphere is very delightful and inviting. I loved the decor of the place, it is perfect for a quiet date night, or girls night out. Our server was so nice and very good with helping us choose great wines. I love that they have such a unique selection of wines for great prices! We ordered two different bottles and loved each (I can't remember the names unfortunately). I also loved their charcuterie board, you get to choose between 3 or 5- and also if you would like just cheese or meat. Overall, I genuinely loved spending my evening here and will definitely be returning. Thanks, Colony Merchant, for a great evening!

Not sure how I haven't already written a review for one of my favorite places, but here we are? If you're looking for your neighborhood "cheers" bar, but want wine, this is your place! I love that there are always rotating wine flights that are carefully curated. I appreciate that the wineries are family owned and that they have a good mix of varietals to try. The team here is knowledgeable about everything they offer on the menu, and they are always happy to answer any questions you may have. Food wise- I would say everything is gourmet. I love how they rotate the food menu and have seasonal items. They also have some specials every now and then including desserts. Not a wine person? There's always craft beer on tap, as well as bottles/cans. The ambience is cozy and inviting. They do live music each week as well which is always a good time. Additionally, they host other events and wine tastings throughout the year. To sum it up: Go here. You won't regret it, your heart will be happy.

A fabulous reprieve from the insanity that is Disney mania in Anaheim! Tucked away off the main street, they have gorgeous indoor and outdoor dining options. I wandered into Colony Wine Merchant after walking 2 miles north during my recent trip out West for a concert. The staff there welcomed me with open arms and explained their concept. Colony Wine Merchant is a wine retailer, restaurant, and wine school. I settled in at the bar and watched regular after regular waltz in on a Friday night, escaping the unexpected drizzle that evening. Without a doubt, they were offered the flight of the week, or their usual wine as they reviewed the menu or waited for friends and family to join. I had a glass of white wine and ordered the marinated olives and the citrus & fennel salmon. Both were highly recommended by the staff. As I read my book and leisurely ate my dinner, I couldn't help but feel so at peace. The dimly lit dining area, beautiful artwork and free-flowing conversations felt like a cozy dream! I sat for hours and never felt any pressure to leave or order more. When it was time to check out, they dropped the most delicious piece of chocolate on my receipt and I happily went back to my room to sleep. I would HIGHLY recommend this restaurant for friends to catch up, a nice dinner date with a partner, or a cozy solo dinner! This was the perfect definition of a "girl dinner"!

Update: We absolutely love Colony but were very sad to find out you can't bring a baby in there. I haven't looked at their website in years, so I didn't know. We showed up with our in laws and our 15 month old, on their last day with us while they were visiting, and had to go somewhere else. I don't want to give 1 star, but I don't understand how Pali Wine down the street can have kids in their establishment, but Colony can't. We'd have to get a babysitter just to go, and usually with date nights (which are more few and far between now), we often go down near the beach, or somewhere else with more to do. So sadly we won't be back for quite awhile. :-(

This place is awesome. I absolutely love going here to relax. Wines and food are so good here. I call this my happy place. Highly recommend. Staff and the environment are friendly. This place is great to unwind and feel invigorated.

The ambiance was spot on, with just the right selection of wines. The flight was selected with perfection! And we couldnt be any happier. Our servers were tentative and very helpful with every visit. We will definitely come back soon! Give this place a try.

First time visit. Had a great evening visiting with friends in a comfortable environment, with great service and good wine and food. The four of us shared a cheese and charcuterie plate, Moroccan meat balls, focaccia w/sundried tomato butter and salt and pepper pistachios. All tasted great. Easy validated parking right next door. Will definitely be back.

Finally - a beautiful wine and charcuterie joint with a great selection and NO ICE! I have a lifelong fear of frozen liquids, and the staff walked me through their entire drink chilling process. Yes it's cold, BUT ITS NOT FROZEN! Thanks for making a safe space for us!

The staff was very welcoming and attentive. The wines were fantastic. We did a Brit, Pinot Grigio, rose and a red blend. Liked all of them very much. The food was delicious. Seasonal salad was fresh, light but full of flavor.

What a cute wine bar! I loved their wine selection and the decor inside! The staff is super knowledgable and will help you select the best wine for you. There's street parking available along with validation in the parking lot behind them. I also loved their eats! For the price point, I would say it's pretty worth it!

Colony Wine is always a warm, friendly environment. I've been coming to Colony Wine for almost a year now. Since my time at Colony Wine, Sonya, Mike and the team make a point to make everyone feel welcomed. I appreciate that Sonya takes the time to know her customers. It is like you are with your closest friends and family. The ambiance is always so warm and upbeat. Mike does a great job playing acoustic guitar. The setting, both inside and outside is quaint. Sonya and crew demonstrate a vast knowledge of the wine and beer sold here. Through Sonya and Mike's personal experiences with numerous wineries, I've now shared that experience, tasting wine that I have not seen anywhere else. I can't forget the kitchen. The food that comes out of the kitchen is delicious and compliments the wine so well. Charcuterie boards, salt and pepper pistachios, seasonal salad, fries. You cannot go wrong. I am excited to be part of the wine club, and always look forward to the upcoming shipment.

Long overdue review! We have been enjoying Colony Wine Merchant since moving to the area 6 years ago. It quickly became one of our favorite spots to enjoy date night. The wine flights change constantly so there is always something new to try and the food offerings are always perfect to go with the wine (particularly the charcuterie). The staff are all amazing and we enjoy sitting at the bar to catch up with everyone. There are always neighbors popping in which makes it so much more enjoyable. We love being able to come in on Thursdays when Mike plays as well. If you love wine and haven't been here yet you are missing out! Also their wine club is great as there are always amazing selections!

These folks do everything right. The staff and owners are lovely. The wine and beer selection is fantastic. The food is terrific. I always thoroughly enjoy my visits.

A very friendly and inviting wine bar. The selection here is quite good, with a lot of California wines on the menu (as you'd expect). Overall this is kind of a hidden gem since at least from the times I've walked by, there doesn't seem to be a wait. The location is interesting: in the sort of trendy downtown Anaheim area on the ground level of the apartment complex here. It doesn't really face the main streets here, so it may be tough to find if you aren't looking for it. Overall, the servers were very friendly, offering good recommendations. I sometimes get carried away asking questions about wine, and one of the servers was knowledgeable and also honest when she didn't know the answers to some of my queries. The bites here are quite good. We got the pate and the cheese plate and both were quite tasty and paired well with the wines. The ambiance was also very nice and intimate. Prices are sort of what you would expect.

We have been members of the wine club since we moved to the area about two years ago. Always a great time and the wines are always on point. We enjoy the Thursday with Mike on the Mic and anytime we've travelled to either Mexico or Northern California, Sonya has been great help with recommendations and suggestions of places to visit. Solid 5/5!

We have been coming here for almost 2 years now and absolutely love every moment we've had here. Mike and Sonya are amazing hosts and will ensure you have a wonderful time at the shop. Their expertise in wine is certain to blow you away, not to mention their great selections of cheese and appetizers. If my wife and I could have dinner every night here we totally would! I could not recommend this place more, and be sure to check out their wine membership. It's totally affordable and unlocks some great perks. Love this place so much.

Wow! I can clearly see why this place has a solid rating! After wandering in here after work this place has knocked my socks off. Incredible hospitality and none of that fake corporate back and forth "would you like to hear about our specials" vibe. The fact that this place was not on a waiting list is beyond me! Totally recommend. Coming from the Napa valley area this place is quite impressive and feels like home. I first walked up to the door just to check out the menu and was instantly greeted and welcomed inside with a warm heart and open arms. Definitely will be back and hope to see this place get just big enough to feel still like home but not to big that I have to make a reservation a month out for a glass of champagne after a hard days work. Beautiful wine shop, great wine selection, and warm staff.

Stopped by while walking around the neighborhood waiting for our reservation at a nearby restaurant. So glad we did! We met one of the owners (Mike) who gave us a truly personable welcome. His daughter has some great culinary skills and we paired our beers (stout and a lager) with the absolute best olives we've had. No brine, a lemon zest and so gourmet. These are not your typical store bought olives. The artichoke heart appetizer was also delish! Thanks to Mike and his family for a wonder moment in downtown Anaheim that felt like we were sitting in a movie set in NYC. Wonderful.

A solid reason Colony has over 150 reviews and the average is 5 stars you ask? Listen up, vino tenderfoot: this is the real deal. Not your typical wine bar, not your typical restaurant, not your typical anything. This is deadly good grape juice selected with care and knowledge, served reasonably priced (my opinion) with a menu that will knock your proverbial socks off in a space that is small, intimate and instantly comfortable. We came early, around 5:15 with intention of having a glass then moving on to a very highly rated Italian restaurant. Uh, no... that didn't work out, because after a few sips from the tasting flight, a few bites into their olive sampler we looked at each other and said, "cancel the reservation." 4+ hours later we walked out down a couple of bills with tip, giddy beyond belief, sated, stuffed and then some. Bliss. Sublime. Pricey? Yes, but worth every penny. When food and service is this good, it matters not. We followed up the olives with a smoked duck salad and a cheese and charcuterie board to die for. Then a melted cheese sandwich with bits of short rib. Food porn. Our wine flight was a California Chardonnay, a Pinot and then a Cabernet Franc that melted our souls. The latter, "encore, s'il vous plait," I uttered with my finest Western Kansas French accent. And again. Great company with the staff, little pretense, an atmosphere that is a welcome relief from all things Disney in the area. I asked, they didn't think I was serious but if I could have made a reservation for 365 days out when I'll be in this area again I would have taken it. Since I can't, you should. Soon. This is a rare gem, a meal I won't forget for a long time and intend to repeat the experience January 2020.

What a awesome find. We have been looking for a cozy new wine bar since our favorite closed (the barrel room in Santa Ana) and this place is incredible. What a wonderful staff - owners were on site and the selection of wines were fantastic. We enjoyed a beautiful charcuterie board with the absolute best Stilton Blue Cheese and the creamiest Brie, home made bread, a beautiful and delicious Pear and Duck salad, and a amazing short rib grilled Cheese. What a incredible place. - an absolute Favorite. This will Be our new place to take friends and family. Thank You for a great evening. The wines are fantastic and the food is incredible.

This review is a little late; based on a visit about 6 months ago. I came here with some of my gf's for a nice evening in DT Anaheim and Colony was highly recommended. The service was great, the wine and beer selection were as well. I loved the vibe of this place. The owners do a great job of setting the tone as a friendly neighborhood gathering place. The wines were high quality, but there was no pretentiousness that is often associated with wine bars or wineries.

Cute and comfy little spot with a great selection of wine. They also have beer for the non wine drinkers. Didn't get to order a board but will defiantly go back for one.

This is my go to spot for a relaxing sip and delicious small bites and a place to hang with friends. You feel like you're sitting in your own living room. The place is not too big, intimate, and just perfect.

My partner and I came in this evening (Sunday night), we were the only guest there, but it was great that it was so intimate! They have a great $5 champagne deal and flights that are fairly priced! It was really nice. The bartender/server was on top of everything from every empty glass to any needs we had. We had the steak tartare! They have gluten free crackers! Omg amazing!!! That is awesome. It's great they cater to all dietary needs! Also before I forget the owner plays live music! And it's soooo good!

Great service, great atmosphere (very chill) and great wine and charcuterie. I haven't been back as often bc of work/lack of occasion haha but this was basically my go to spot for about 2 years when I was getting charcuterie and wines for birthdays, dates, or office parties. Take out orders are very easy and that's usually what I do. They're very communicative and will email or call you if they're out of something and will usually comp or swap something else in which is super nice. Definitely worth checking out!

Lot's of street parking in the area! We came in on Friday night around 8:15pm and there was seating at the communal table or an individual table. This place is SO cute I was surprised it wasn't packed. The vibes are more intimate since it's a smaller place and the service was amazing. We had questions about which cheeses to order and were constantly checked up on after we ordered. We got a wine flight and cheese board and everything was delicious and affordable. We chose the 3 cheese 2 meat board and you get a little bit of fruit, honey, and bread, and it was the perfect amount. 10/10 recommend !!

Hands down, one of my favorite places for an intimate night out. My favorite bites include the Prosciutto Bruschetta and the Baked Camembert, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Not only is the food and wine delicious, the team here makes you feel like family. Tip: If you're visiting the Packing House, you can use FRAN (Downtown Anaheim's free ride-sharing system) to get here. Use the Center Street Stop for the closest drop-off location.

First and foremost, colony wine merchant is inviting. The decor, seating, and ambience makes you want to go there, whether by yourself for you time, on a date, with a friend... groups of friends... doesn't matter. Indoor and outdoor seating so if you have a fur baby, outside is the place for you. The space is clean and the staff are friendly. The menu changes periodically so it can feature seasonal food items. The wine selection also changes periodically and tends to follow seasons and occasions. If you're celebrating, they can make gift baskets and even help you pick out wine for your special person. You can book special events and pretty much do anything with this full service establishment, including ship to most states. If you're a wine club member, there are extra benefits and discounts, and the club price is beyond reasonable. There are wine tastings, dinner events, wine education classes, I mean seriously I love wine and nobody has all the stuff that Sonya offers! I highly recommend it for those who love wine, are new to wine, or just want something to do.

For a few months I heard great things about this place, and with the very few times I've visited it, I understand the praise it's received. Everything curated on the menu is obviously made with the passion for wine and great food. The wine list is carefully selected with the intention of creating an amazing atmosphere. The cheese selection is phenomenal and anything ordered on the menu will make you smile internally AND externally. I do recommend the honey! The service is also wonderful and I so so so appreciate the hard work and care of the staff. Would recommend to anyone who wants happiness.

I've yet to find anything else quite like Colony Wine Merchant. It's where my husband and I spent some of our first dates, so I'm a little bias, but there's truly something special about the place. From the unique, hand-picked selection of wines that Sonya picks out, to the eats that always pair perfectly, to Mike's live tunes, this has always been our go-to date night spot. We would even drive 45 min to an hour for it after we moved! If you love supporting family businesses, pick this family as one of them. They put love and care and passion into everything they do. It's the one wine club we kept when we moved out of state, and a must on our to-do list whenever we're in Cali. Love you guys!

I go here when I work down here, which is frequently. Great service. They had a great selection of Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez and Paso R. region wines that are hard to find like the Sea Smoke, Gainey, etc. Didn't try their appetizers, but the atmosphere was nice, the clientele was educated and polite, and the owner, a sommelier---but more of a business maverick (I like)---is a gal that took time to talk to me, Wino Dude, and tell me a bit about themselves. Definitely a must and a great location.

What a gem in the Anaheim Colony Historic District. It's pretty well hidden, so if you're looking for it, it's right next to Flame Broiler. 90-minute street parking for free, or pay per hour at a parking structure. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted by Mike and Sonya. The ambiance is so intimate and elegant, really great spot for date night. They offer half off wine flights on Wednesdays which we took full advantage of. My friend and I both got the Savor Sauvignon Blanc flight which had a cheese pairing for an additional $8. I've never had a cheese pairing, either have I had a wine flight, so it was amazing how they complimented each other so well. For food, we shared the Charcuterie plate which featured 4 different kinds of meat. We also got Mike's Cheeseburger, which was a lot bigger than we though. The quality of both dishes was amazing and worked perfectly with the drinks. I ended the night with a beer and my friend got another wine flight, which she wasn't able to finish. Service was amazing, they were checking up on us throughout the night to make sure we were accommodated for. They have a great beer selection that I'd love to take advantage of next time. Will definitely be back!

My favorite place to go any day of the week. I discovered Colony a couple weeks back and have been obsessed ever since, becoming a regular. The wines are fabulous, food and cheese selection delicious, and great vibes. The staff is very welcoming and I live that depending on where you sit the atmosphere is accommodating to any date or get together. Big fan and will be coming back again and again.

Wine, cheese, meats and bread. Need I say more?? I enjoy a nice glass of wine every now and then, but my best friend is the one who LOVES places like this and I'm so glad she got me into it! Truthfully, I'm more of a whiskey and scotch drinker, but I appreciate a nice wine and cheese pairing too. I don't even know where to start... The cheeses: WOW. They way they melt in your mouth it's just indescribable. I unfortunately did not get to try the bleu cheese because my best friend isn't a fan so I'll have to try it next time. Get the 5 cheese option if you love cheese like I do. Just do it... 5/5 The meats: I probably could have done without the chorizo but it was a nice palate cleanser I guess. 4/5 The bread: BOTTOMLESS BREAD! I swear we asked for more bread way too many times xD 5/5 Don't forget to dip everything in the honey too!! :p Service: AMAZING. The girls who were helping us were so helpful and had great advice when we couldn't make up our minds 5/5 Wine: I mean I literally have no complaints here. Been here many times since the opening and spent a lot of time talking with Sonya and Mike, what a great couple! The wine bar is fabulous, the beers are all delicious! The seats are all very comfortable. The bathrooms are clean and private. Mike jams the guitar and music several times a month. There are a couple group spaces that always look fun when people are hanging out. There is a happy hour that will treat you to some discounted treats. Open every day except Monday.

Everything about this place is great! Wonderful home-like setting, delicious wines and beers, great food, service, and ambiance! Love stopping by especially for happy hour.
