Google
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I had an incredible experience with Colorado Wilderness Rides and Guides! My guide, Cory, was absolutely amazing — he planned a fantastic two-day hiking adventure in Rocky Mountain National Park that was perfectly tailored to what I was looking for. Everything was well-organized, safe, and fun from start to finish. I highly recommend their services and will definitely be booking with them again!

Google
Five stars is not high enough for my mountain bike experience today with Cindy and Sarah as our guides. They are super kind, friendly, prepared, flexible and fun!!! There were ten in our group, several folks brand new. Sarah and Cindy exhibited patience filled with care and kindness. There were many moments where pivoting was necessary and they rolled with each change, able to accommodate everyone’s needs.

Yana, Joe were great guides and helped our team complete the 6mi trail. Great at giving all the instructions. It was the first time mountain biking for many of us and truly enjoyed it.

I joined the Switzerland Descent Trail as a company outing. I am not a seasoned biker so I felt intimidated, but our guide Jill made me feel more at ease, now there's 2 of us woman in the group! The view was totally worth it. The guides were very attentive to all our needs, accommodating our different skill levels, I being the least experienced. I fell (my own fault, being distracted by the view) but they have first aid. The bikes are lightweight and of high quality. They also provided water bottles for us. I highly recommend them!

Google
Gave them a call when my wife and I expressed some interest in heading up the Cables Route on Longs Peak. We worked with Gabby at the office and then had Will as our guide. The experience was fantastic. We are experienced hikers but are new to rock climbing. The Cables Route was just the challenge we were looking for and Will made us feel safe and comfortable during the whole technical part of the day. Super knowledgeable and professional. Would totally recommend this experience to our friends. Will…you were great bud, thank you so much.

We had such a good time on our Father’s Day raft trip. Our group age ranged from 8 to 69 and everyone loved the day. Got some unique experiences and challenges along the way, like hiking a very cool narrow path high along the river and a 30ft jump into the river. Our guide Joe had some great history on the area and was super friendly, supportive, and kept everyone safe without being overbearing. What a great day!

My wife and I took a hiking trip in June with Joe, one of the experienced guides. It was an amazing experience start to finish. The guide picked us up from our hotel and took us to a trail that fit our particular needs. Joe was very attentive, fun, and knowledgable. The management for the company was just as polite and professional. If you want a guided hike in or around Boulder, use this company.

Yelp
This was truly an amazing experience! Dickie was our guide and made it such a great time! He was extremely knowledgeable and gave us great instructions while keeping it fun! There was a huge traffic jam that potentially would make it difficult for us to get picked up and dickie swiftly found a solution that enhanced our experience! I have only good things to say about dickie and this company! This was our first time and we will be back

Yelp
Josh and Joe exceeded every one of my expectations in the AIARE Level 1. It was a game changing experience.

Yelp
More than the name sugests, Boulder Wilderness Shuttle offer some fabulous sightseeing tours (http://boulderwildernessshuttle.com/services_sightseeing.html). I did the day tour of Rocky Mountain National Park highlights and couldn't have been happier. According to many, I was going at the wrong time. I did this tour in the off season (Nov 09). The weather was cold and part of the high road closed; however, in my honest opinion, I couldn't have asked for more. The park was bare of tourists. I got to experience the wilderness without battling the crowds. PERFECT! Mother nature truly puts on a show in the Rockies and thanks to Nick (tour guide for the day) we saw some of America's great scenery. Despite spending the day in the national park I am acutely aware of how little we saw in the grand scheme of things; however, thanks to BWS we couldn't have gotten a better taste of the glory that is the Rocky Mountain National Park (RMNP) If you go in the later months of the year be sure to pack a coat, and (of course!) your camera. We saw natures beauty at it's best from the high snowy peaks to the frozen lakes and grassy plains. The animals came out on show as well; both elk and coyote! Joshua is the man on the ground when it comes to liaising with Boulder Wilderness Shuttle. He kept in touch from the first time I made contact to the days I spent in Boulder. Offering more than just a tour he had great advice on local activites and accommodation. He makes it his business to ensure safety for his clients while providing activities to remember. Boulder Wilderness Shuttle offers an exceptional service and sets a high standard for its competitors. I'll be back!

Yelp
I took an AIARE I class with CWRAG and had a great experience. The instructors made the class interesting. The curriculum is set by AIARE but Josh, Jill and Chris clearly have tons of experience in the backcountry and were more than qualified to teach the class. Last year I took a class with a guide company in Estes Park and thought it was a waste of money. The instructors there were aloof and you really had to press them for the information they were supposedly going to teach you. I was much happier with this team.

Yelp
I made a reservation in March for a private hike in July on the Alpine Lakes and Wildflowers tour. On the day of the hike, the guide picked us up at our hotel and drove us to the trail-head in the Rocky Mountains. On the way there, she said that because we needed to be back at a certain time (we had a dinner reservation) that we would not have time to do the original hike we had selected. She asked if we wanted to do a different hike but since I am from Michigan and had done no research on other hiking options (because I had hired a guide 3 months in advance), I was not prepared to answer this question. I really did not want to miss our dinner reservation because we had pre-paid for it. I also did not want to miss out on the hike, which we paid over $500.00 for. After a bit of discussion, (we had an hour drive to the trail-head) we decided on a new hike. The new hike was very public and involved a shuttle bus to and from the new trail. The shuttle line was very long as it was very crowded. We spent quite a bit of time getting on and off the shuttle. We were the only ones with a guide, as where we ended up was on the more accessible trails where a visitor would not need a guide as they are very clearly labeled and organize with a map and by the many park rangers and the things we saw where directly along the park's shuttle bus route. We ended up hiking on a few easy trails and seeing 2 Alpine Lakes and a waterfall; both were beautiful. It was nice to hike with a guide as it makes the trip more interesting. This is not the first time we have hiked with a guide on a private trip. We also did this in Yosemite and it was amazing and fun. I am not giving this company a stellar rating because I e-mailed them to let them know a month in advance that I had made a dinner reservation. They wrote back and said that they had checked with the guide and the reservation would not impact the hike I selected. I spoke to the guide the day before the trip and let her know what time we needed to be back to the hotel. I was again assured that our hike would not be impacted. It was not until she picked us up at the hotel, on the morning of the hike, did she say that she was worried we would not be back in time. Had I known this in advance, maybe we could have picked a new hike or gotten up earlier in the morning to start the hike to make sure we were back in time. I appreciated that she let us know her concerns. I wish they had been expressed more timely. We were made to feel like an after-thought. I was looking for a more catered and private hiking experience. I thought we paid enough money to deserve a better planned trip. The guide that the company sent to pick us up for the trip was a bit late. She also had an injured ankle. Could this be why she chose a different, shorter, more public hike on a well maintained, common path? Maybe it was because her parents were in from out-of-town, hiking on the same path she chose for us, and she wanted to meet up with them? She let me know that she would be interested in doing that, if I was okay with it. It was really awkward, since this is not what I signed up for. I don't want to take away from someone's family time, but I had paid quite a bit of money for the hike I booked with her. She spent time, in between consulting her map for our hike, on the shuttle texting her parents trying to find out where they were on the tail. We never actually met up with them though. We ended up arriving back at the hotel an hour and a half early so we drove over to the foot of the flat iron mountains and looked at them. That was very nice but since our hotel had a view of the flat irons, I felt that this was not time well spent. I was planning on calling the company to speak to a manager the next day but since I was on vacation, I didn't get around to it. Also, they cannot fix what happened. The hike is over, my time could have been better spent, and so could my money. They e-mailed a survey to me a week ago (more then a month after my hike). I tried to fill it out but the link did not work. I would not recommend this company.

Yelp
My wife and I had a week-long stay in Denver last week. We scheduled 4 different outings through Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides (horseback riding, rafting, rock climbing, and mountain biking), and all of them went without a hitch. The office staff was very responsive and had all of our outings scheduled within a day. They provided a detailed itinerary for us, and direct contact information to our guide for each outing. There are a lot of services around Colorado that can help you experience the outdoors, but it was the quality of the guides at Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides that we appreciated most. If you can, request Alex P. as a guide for rock climbing, biking, fishing, etc. Not only was he very knowledgeable in each sport, but he was also very well versed in local history, geology, wildlife, etc. On two of our outings, we had an additional guide come join us just to observe a more senior guide in action, for their own professional development. CWR&G really does care about the quality of the experience, especially if you are trying a new activity for the first time, and they are completely supportive in whatever you're goals are in experiencing the outdoors. You will not be disappointed, and I would definitely recommend Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides. Very organized and attentive, great equipment, and fantastic guides.

Yelp
Amazing experience. You'll be placed out of your comfort zone and as a result learn about team work and trust. Highly recommend working with these folks.

Yelp
We spent the weekend in Boulder and wanted to get our fix on nature without having to do a lot of planning. With Colorado Wilderness Rides & Guides, we spent the first day hiking/biking and the second day rock climbing. We could have done some of it ourselves, but they were extremely easy and made everything simple. Great people, good communication, and flexible to do everything specific to our asks. I would definitely use them again.

Yelp
We initially contacted Front Range Ride Guides and the guide cancelled on us at the last minute, so we were fortunate to find CWRAG. CWRAG provided a customized half day mountain biking trip for our family of four in early August. I told Cindy that my 16 year old son was more experienced and I was a more cautious rider. Door to door service: she picked us up at 8 am sharp at Chautauqua Park, provided bikes of course, snacks, water, cold beverages at the end, and brought us back at 1 p.m. After a riding briefing and short practice session we spent 3 glorious hours mountain biking in Marshall Mesa and the community ditch. She brought along her colleague, Tom, to take our son on more challenging trails. She provided technical tips and was good company. We would definitely hire her again. I appreciated her reliability and good communication. They went the extra mile, knowing that my daughter (12) was shorter, they borrowed an employee's son's bike. During our practice riding I ended up switching bikes with my daughter and loved the big tires and suspension. To the son who lent his bike: thanks for sharing your bike!

Yelp
My friends and I had originally intended to do a full day road bike tour, but instead ended up taking the half-day mountain bike tour of the Marshall Mesa Trail Head. It was the first time on mountain bikes for us, but with the excellent guidance of our guide Cindy, we enjoyed some of the most beautiful scenery and got some great exercise in the process. Your guide makes all the difference, and if you can ask for Cindy by name, you'll be rewarded with a great day.

Yelp
We did 2 custom tours with CWRAG while we were in the Boulder/RMNP area this past weekend for a girls trip. First day we did repelling with Bennett and Cindy. Day 2 with Cindy was a trip to RMNP for biking on Trailridge Road and a hike to Cub Lake. Everything was easy to set up. Josh answered all of our questions and was very knowledgable. Our guides were awesome. We had a great time. I would highly recommend CWRAG for outdoor adventures that turn into memories that will last a lifetime.
