The 17 Best Restaurants & Bars In Breckenridge, Colorado

"A perfect day in downtown Breckenridge begins with coffee at Columbine Cafe and ends with video games and beer a few steps away at Eric’s. Columbine is a classic diner that’s walk-in only, so get here early and be prepared to wait a while on a busy Sunday morning. They do all the breakfast favorites right, like eggs benedicts and platter-sized pancakes. Their house-smoked chunky corned beef hash goes great in a scramble over hash browns, as well as inside their Hangover burrito stuffed with scrambled eggs and cheddar jack cheese." - anne cruz

Google
We had a delicious breakfast here. The house made corned beef hash is delicious. My husband had oatmeal. Coffee could have been better, it was just OK. A bit pricey, but worth it!

Google
This cafe was very good. The menu is vast and everything we tried was good! Nothing stood out as incredible, however. If you’re looking for an easy breakfast place in Breck, this might be the one for you!

Molly Aquino

Google
I ordered an omelete for breakfast and it was delicious, they have gluten free options and a great variety of dishes, the burrito was also good, I would come back again!

Bailey Martin

Google
Just an average diner. The green chili was good. The pancake wasn’t all it’s cracked up to be…

Jenni Overstreet

Google
Enjoyed breakfast twice during our short visit to Breckenridge! Great food and kind people!

Google
Best breakfast place in Breck! I was in heaven at this place. The food is delicious and coffee is even better. Our server took great care of us with us having a large group of nine people. We all loved our experience here. 10/10!

Google
Columbine Cafe has the interior charm of a great southern breakfast dinner, however it doesn’t have the pricing or flavor to match. That is no knock on there food, it was good. It just did not match the price. The coffee is a great surprise, I had the Americano was one of the best I have had in a while. Service was also exceptional. If you want a dinner feel I would highly recommend columbine cafe, however I think the pricing needs to be tweaked

Google
Yumm!! We had to wait a bit to be seated because it is so popular, but we really enjoyed our visit. The food was delicious and the portions sides are huge. Don’t miss out on the 12 inch pancake for less than 5 dollars!!

Yelp
It's pretty busy inside, tucked in the back of some buildings. The server was very nice. - Bloody Mary 2.3/5 It was ok a Bloody Mary. - Huevos Rancheros 4.6/5 Very light tasting huevos rancheros. Lots of shredded lettuce. It's tasty with the green chile. - Porky's Ham Steak Special 3.2/5 Thick cut ham steak. Hashbrowns are not crispy sadly. Eggs cooked well. Just a normal ham steak. - Side of Red Bean Chili 5/5 Super yummy red bean chili. Free parking in lot and on the sides. Check the signage.

Yelp
Outdoor, dog friendly with music created a nice ambiance, but no view of Main Street people-watching or the river (I'm being spoiled) Service from Brazilian waiter was superb. He definitely understood the bottomless coffee mug concept. Biscuits and Gravy are Not Great. In fact, worst in Breckenridge. Biscuits were good but gravy was bland, skimpy and without any sausage. Meh.

Yelp
My sister had been here for breakfast previously and enjoyed it, but what a disappointment. There was hardly anyone there (on a Wednesday around Noon) so the service was okay. The Hangover Burrito, sweet cream pancake and Greek Salad were good but most breakfast items were bland and flavorless. The hash browns were especially offensive; tasting like day-old reheated potatoes. I have literally never been to a restaurant where the hash browns did not taste fresh. I asked the server about it and she said they were "making them all day" so I asked for a new order and she came back within 30 seconds ... Clearly not freshly made. While a bit warmer, they had the same bland, cardboard consistency of the first order. My husband doused his in ketchup to make them tolerable but I didn't even waste the calories. The biscuit that came with my omelette was also terrible; it seemed almost dehydrated (clearly also not fresh). You have to leave the restaurant (go back out through the entry door and down two flights of stairs) to use the restroom, which is actually the restroom of the bar below. Overall an odd breakfast experience.

Yelp
Always a favorite for us when we're in town, we were a little underwhelmed today. Service was slower and less attentive than usual. We had to ask for coffee refills or else our cups sat empty throughout. Coffee is just as good as usual. None of our food was particularly hot. My hangover burrito was almost cool on one end but warmer on the other end. Also, while I usually love the burrito, this one didn't seem to have much hash or eggs and seemed to be predominantly beans. My wife did a build-your-own omelette with avocado, cheddar cheese, and bell peppers. Her food also wasn't hot, and the peppers were a little too crunchy, so she might skip those next time. We also split a giant pancake like we usually do, and while that also wasn't as hot as we would've liked, it was still delicious. I'm sure we'll be back next time around.

Yelp
The fact that this cafe offers a vegetarian pepper white gravy completely sold me as biscuits and gravy are one of my favorite indulgent food and it's so hard to find a spot that doesn't serve sausage gravy. I was so happy with my breakfast here and could have licked the plate if that wasn't generally frowned upon in public. The biscuits and gravy come with hashbrowns and I opted to add two scrambled eggs with cheese to make it a complete meal. I had to try the apple pie cider, which is a spiced apple cider with cinnamon syrup and caramel syrup topped with whipped cream and cinnamon. It was so good and the perfect cozy drink for a winter day.

Yelp
Hangover burrito and Mexican Scramble DELICIOUS. Food came out quickly and service was attentive. Cozy ambiance with some outside seating.

Yelp
Dined here after a friend recommended it during my time in Breckenridge. It was a Saturday around noon so they were quite busy but my husband and I were able to score 2 seats at the bar to be seated immediately. We had the corned beef benedict and hangover burrito. Both dishes were delicious. Their corned beef is cooked to perfection.

Yelp
Could not recommend this place more for breakfast! So much I came two days in a row! Service is incredible and the food portions are awesome! My wife got the basic breakfast which was very filling for $10; I got the columbine breakfest, our sons got the kids pancake! My second visit I got the burrito and wowwwww it was so good and the green chili was phenomenal! If you're looking for a breakfest place look no more further than Columbine Cafe! Especially most times there are no wait!

Yelp
What a delicious breakfast! The food was delicious! We were sat right away and had the nicest waitress! I could not believe how quickly our food was served. Definitely would return!

Yelp
Food: really good! Recommend the porky's ham steak, the corned beef hash, and my son lost his mind on the hangover burrito. Prices were very reasonable; you'd pay just as much in downtown Cowplop as you would here in a resort town. Definitely a local hangout. Son liked the spicy Bloody Mary, but be advised the garnish is a pickle. Unique. Plan on a wait for weekend breakfast. We waited about 40 minutes , but the place was slammed. Service was very good, and the food arrived promptly, and still hot( a real trick at this elevation), Small town, friendly vibe. It's the kind of place where you feel like a local after the second visit. All in all, you could spend more and get less.

Yelp
Decent breakfast and prices. Pretty good service too. My toad in a hole egg was was undercooked with a runny white. The grits literally had no flavor options like cheese or jalapeño. I tried to save them with butter and hot sauce. We were offered coffees to go ftw! There was a hella grumpy server there dragging down the morale of both the employees and customers. He couldn't stop complaining and verbally attacking his coworkers about everything. We heard his thoughts on what was wrong with the building to why he always has to be the one to change the receipt tape. He was so extra in not a good way. With all the other places on the area, I'd patronize another deserving business.

Yelp
Excellent food & service! The hangover burrito was outstanding & the Huevos Ranchero was great as well !! Ask for some salsa with it if you like spicy!

Yelp
Columbine Cafe has a ton of options for breakfast and lunch. They are open daily 7:30am to 1:30pm. The service isn't overly friendly but fast. They know it's always tourist season in Breckinridge and try to accommodate that. The cafe is behind (and left) of the gift shop and to the right of Eric's. The inside has very cool wall and mostly consists of booths. The bathroom is downstairs and actually are Eric's bathrooms. We were there in the summer and it was so hot. They need another ceiling fan. My friend didn't look well. I got the breakfast sandwich cause I wasn't that hungry. I appreciate them having a smaller cheaper option. The sandwich and others breakfasts were good. If it's not very hot out I'd go back.
google avatar

Ashley M.

Yelp
Decent breakfast and very reasonably priced! I got the breakfast sandwich with bacon on a croissant for only $7 with a side of hash browns. Quick service with a diner feel.

Yelp
Columbine Cafe is THE brunch place to go to in Breckenridge if you like no frills, fast service, and large portions. I got the Columbine benedict with bacon and a small cup of fresh fruit, while my husband got the Hangover Burrito. It was all delicious! We ate here fairly early in the morning, and the portions were large enough that we weren't hungry until dinner. I also love that they offered to let me take my coffee to-go once we were done; it felt like good service while helping turn tables quickly. Bonus points for being kid-friendly as well!
google avatar

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! Pancakes were fluffy and large! Huevos rancheros made me feel like I was eating it back in Texas. Service was great! No splitting checks fyi

Yelp
Feb 10, 2023 Came in for breakfast, there was a 15 minute wait for 3. They were busy. We got seated after 15 and got waited on quickly. Got our breakfast quick too. We got biscuits and gravy, sides of bacon, lots of coffee, OJ, bacon eggs and biscuit, Angus beef hash benedict over hash browns. It was all FANTASTIC! Everything was so tasty and fresh. I had the beef hash Benedict and OMGosh soo good, ate the whole thing! Highly recommend

Yelp
Service was great! Sat at the bar and the food and drinks were very satisfying. We hid from the crowd on July 4th for a break during parade.

Kay D.

Yelp
They served us very generous portions. The pasty melt was huge and very tasty with its mushrooms and translucent onions. The giant Cobb salad was loaded with all the goodies (ham bacon and eggs). The service was nice and attentive; we will definitely go back.
google avatar

Yelp
Warm and comforting food and ambiance! The decor is like a warm and cozy cabin. The hostess and wait staff were very sweet! Our server Grumpy Cat K was super friendly and quick with our order. The biscuits were nice and fluffy. Waffles and French Toast were delicious as well! Everyone around us ordered a pancake and it was huge!
google avatar

Unnagi M.

Yelp
We went to the this cafe because of the awesome reviews on Yelp, and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the steak&eggs and chicken&waffles...both dishes were delicious and the steak flavor was on point! Our server was attentive and provided wonderful service. Highly recommend this place!

Josh B.

Yelp
This place was very mediocre. We came here because it was the only place open at 7:30 so we wandered in. You are immediately greeted with disclaimers about not being seated without full party present and our host made a comment about how we were blocking the entryway. To me, this put off an uncomfortable vibe. I had an omelet with ghost pepper cheese and it was decent. Nothing extraordinary but not bad either. The food was very mediocre and did not blow us away for the premium prices paid for a local restaurant. In a bind, this place worked but probably will not return.

Yelp
Nice, traditional breakfast spot in the heart of Main St in Breckenridge. No frills, solid food. Lots of options regarding egg dishes, especially benedicts, and also lots of variety with omelettes, etc. Friendly staff. Didn't have to wait too long for a table on a holiday weekend, which was nice.
google avatar

Yelp
Best breakfast place in Breck. Everything is fresh . .fruits, proteins, eggs . . Great espresso choices . . Staff is relaxed & professional

Yelp
1.5 Stars. Came here a few years ago for the breakfast burritos and it was fairly 3 star good. Came back a few years later for lunch and it was pretty disappointing. Me and my son each had soup $5.25 each and split a Classic Club $9.95. My daughter had the Grilled Chicken Breast $10.50 and Sweet Potato Fries upgrade $2. The club was okay nothing to write home about, but the soups were terrible. Super thick and not very tasty. Lots of fries with these meals. Perhaps I'll stick to the burritos on our next visit.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute looking cafe inside. They even have the Columbine flowers! Those flowers makes me very happy! Good service. We came here with our friends from Texas. Everybody was hungry and excited. I ordered the Belgium Waffle-sprinkled with powdered sugar served with syrup. That's the basic. so I ordered the Extras: fresh strawberries, fresh blueberries, bananas, walnuts , granolas. Their waffles are the thick heavy kind. I was hoping for the light fluffy crunchy on the outside and chewy all the way kind of waffle. It was like eating cardboard. As you guys can see from my photos, the rest of the group ordered something savory. The main complain? Lacking in salt. I feel like we walked into a nursing home. Where the food is bland. I know I tried my friends food and Adam D's scrambled eggs. His was dry and tasteless. You can see just looking at it that no matter how you slice this eggs it'll be dry. Now that was disappointing. Our hunger couldn't even cover the fact that their dishes are tasteless!
google avatar

Michael E.

Yelp
We ate here for the first time on our latest visit to Breck. It's a small place so there's usually a wait if there's more than two of you. My daughter and I were seated right away. I ordered their Courtyard breakfast and would get it again. They had a variety of menu options and everyone seemed to enjoy their meals. This will be one of our regular stops whenever we're back in Breck.
google avatar

Kait S.

Yelp
Great selection of delicious food. I am gf and vegetarian and I usually get the veggie scramble, it's very good. The waitstaff are very attentive and good service!

Yelp
Stopped by early on a Sunday day at 930 and this was the time to go. We got a table right away. But when we left there were many waiters. Had the corned beef hash Benedict which was a flavorful deviation from the traditional Benedict. The gravy and biscuits didn't have sausage chunks which we were hoping for. But it tasted great and couldnt even finish it was too much. We like to come here when in breck but have to remember to get in early on the weekend. We were able to eat outside on the small patio area and enjoy the early morning fresh air.
google avatar

Christina V.

Yelp
Mother's Day weekend and apparently we picked a slow weekend to come up to Breck but that's ok because there are still places to eat. Columbine was pretty good with GIANT pancakes. Look at the size of these in the photo. Service was fantastic and something that is a huge winner for me. Booth was small for a family of 5 but it was a small joint to begin with. Even during slow times get there early because they fill up fast. Next time we will try and sit outside, it was perfect weather for outside dinning.
google avatar

Suzanne R.

Yelp
Had biscuits and gravy. They were okay nothing to get excited about. Server never came and gave us a refill of our 3.50 cup of coffee. Service not good.
google avatar

Lou S.

Yelp
Something has changed and it's not favorable. I used to love this place and the last two visits have been disappointing. The grits are watery and not creamy like before, the oatmeal is quaker instant oats (serious?) and the hash browns are not hash browns- they are fried instead of cooked on the grill. Service was good but not great (waited for quite a while before my coffee was refilled).
google avatar

Jonathan B.

Yelp
Tucked behind a popular bar this warm and woody place feels comforting. Exposed wood and wildlife paintings finish the ambiance. The menu is perfect for a pre ski or carbo load before mountain biking. Even given it's location, in the center of town, this is every bit the local stop and one you want to enjoy if you can get there early enough to get a seat. The food is fresh and delicious with care given to taste.
google avatar

Katie N.

Yelp
Stopped into Columbine for breakfast last Saturday AM. I ordered the corned beef hash - it was good, but I've had better! The wait was quite long but that's due to the popularity of this spot. The service was great, we were attended to and never had empty cups. Would definitely dine here again.
google avatar

James B.

Yelp
Great food! Great service! The salmon Benedict was amazing. Atmosphere was great! We appreciate the attentiveness of our server!

Yelp
In a town full of breakfast cafes Columbine stands out with fast friendly service and tasty food. Excellent pork green chili sauce on burritos and the perfect pancake with almost crispy edges surrounding tender inside. The best of both worlds. Good coffee.
google avatar

Colleen M.

Yelp
Had breakfast 2 mornings in a row here. Extremely friendly service and great food. My husband loved the pancakes! They are 12 inches big. Luckily the owner heard my husband order 2 and he warned him to start with one. He couldn't even finish that! All the servers were so friendly and food was great. I highly recommend.
google avatar

John M.

Yelp
Solid breakfast and lunch restaurant. I come here for breakfast. The food is not greasy and comes out fresh tasting. The corned beef is homemade and amazing, the best I have ever had. I had the corned beef scramble with rye toast. The breakfast food is a five star experience. The interior could stand a remodel. I have been coming here for 20 years and will continue coming for that corned beef.
google avatar

Casey R.

Yelp
What a great spot right on Main Street! Pancakes and cinnamon rolls were the favorite from our crowd!! If we come back we would order pancakes all around a a couple cinnamon rolls to split at the table. I have to eat gluten free so the bowl of grits was the perfect meal. I did have to season it but there is salt, pepper and Tabasco which helped immensely. We also ordered the biscuits and gravely as well as French toast which was just ok. It was a little pricy but that seems to be the norm for this area. I will say the portion sizes were worth the price! If you are looking for cheaper options go with the pancakes and cinnamon roll. You will thank me later!
google avatar

Yelp
Pick something from the menu you normal can't make at home. That's what I did on a weekend trip a couple weeks ago. The result was an amazing breakfast burrito smothered in green chili and even accompanied with a side of salsa for everything else on the plate. Service came promptly and even at the right time each time. A cheery warmly greeted us as we were seated, joked around and even made suggestions. Nothing says more than that homie feeling. The waiter suggested that we order a coffee as the main dishes were taking a bit longer in the kitchen and so we did. While enjoying the people watching the entire experience really felt like being in someone's home. From beginning to end breakfast was fantastic all the way around. Afterwards, head downstairs to Eric's for some arcade action!

Amy B.

Yelp
Such an amazing breakfast. I love the way they do their egg scrambles - loaded with the additions (I always hate getting an omelet where the eggs are just folded over the added ingredients). My husband loved the homemade corned beef hash.
google avatar

Tommy M.

Yelp
My family and I visited today for breakfast and were surprised to find that their POS system was down and they were turning customers away. The waiter mentioned that this has "never happened before" and it clearly seemed that there wasn't a "back-up" plan in place to continue to serve customers. We, along with the many customers that were turned away, made the comment that orders could be manually tracked and payments made in cash. I know that inventory and sales tracking is important, so implementing a plan to go "manual" would be adventitious of the owner of the Colombine Cafe... being that if they resort to being closed for the day it could result in a $30k sales hit. Maybe use the 2 hours to close and reopen to put a quick plan into place and reiterate the importance that all employees should always show a sense of urgency and empathy when encountering these situations. Otherwise, perception will be that they were non sympathetic and ready to have the day off as they communicated the issue with their patrons. Looking forward to coming back next year and hopes this is a one time instance.

Jakob H.

Yelp
Great place! Staff is very friendly. Food was quick and well priced. Enjoyed everything we ordered! Will be returning again
google avatar

Lauren H.

Yelp
I come here every time I am in town! I love this place! It was my first time trying a biscuit here with both butter and apple butter, and it was delicious! I ate the entire plate!

Rich G.

Yelp
Great little hometown favorite. Nothing fancy, just solid food and great service. Needs some freshening up of the facility, but still a good experience
google avatar

Lily A.

Yelp
Nice little spot hidden away. The food was good, it lacked a bit of flavor but tasty nonetheless. The pancakes were one of my favorites! They were the size of the plate and had a delicious flavor. Also, the apple pie drink was very good. Definitely recommend this spot for a nice cozy breakfast.

Ray B.

Yelp
food service is horrible. Friends will get served before you no matter how long you've been waiting. NO bathrooms in the restaurant. The staff talks at the bar loudly about in appropriate topics. I Just want to eat breakfast I don't care about your problems. Ive been living in Breckenridge for 15 years and this place just keeps getting worse and worse. The food is average. The Prices are absurd for breakfast. Daily Light DONUTS has way better food for a better price. Blue Moose also has much better breakfast with a friendlier staff. The decor is dirty. The Menus are falling apart and are dirty. The chairs and tables wobble and are dirty. This is a tourist trap at best, save your money.
google avatar

Jack S.

Yelp
Pretty good here. Waiter was amazing - super kind and made sure everything was right. Restaurant was super busy but food came out relatively fast. Disappointed that a bagel and 2 scrambled eggs with a 1/4 cup of fruit was over $10 with tax. In hindsight I would've opted for a different restaurant with higher prices for better food options. However, this place is the perfect diner feel to fit your needs.
