The 23 Essential Vietnamese Restaurants in Little Saigon, Orange County

"A bright yellow and blue sign decorated with peach illustrations for Com Tam Dao Vien is visible from Westminster Boulevard. The menu lists 18 dry vermicelli bowls and two soups. Try the dry vermicelli with shrimp and bean curd. The bun bo la lot features peppery piper leaf beef rolls served with dry vermicelli noodles. The leaves are popular wrapping papers for grilled meats in Vietnam and Laos." - Jenn Tanaka

Best Com Tam I've had by a long shot, with the thit nuong being my biggest favourite here. The thit nuong tastes like it’s actually grilled over flames and not just on a griddle/braised, with sides all around the complement. This is my biggest point of contention with other com tam places, since the meat almost never comes close to what you’d get at night markets, but this is pretty damn up there. The rest of the accoutrements don’t slack either, with the pickles being done just right to have a nice sour yet sweet crunch and the shredded pork and egg cake being perfectly spongey and not tough. Surprisingly, the banh hoi and bo la lot are incredible as well here and now have me torn between which dish to order. Another plus is that service is rather quick, and with a large parking lot, it’s a great option for a walk in dinner.

We ordered 2 orders of rice with bi (shredded pork) and 2 orders of vermicelli over the phone. They told us they’d be ready in about 30 minutes. Cool, our drive is 15 minutes, so a 15 minute wait isn’t too bad. We get there, pay, and sit to wait for the food. 25 minutes pass and nothing. We waited another 10 minutes and I went to the counter to check on the order. Turns out the order had been done for 20 minutes, and the meal was now cold. Despite us sitting there, no one checked on us, asked us if we needed anything, aside from taking our money, no one took initiative to provide any kind of customer service. We get home to check on the food and half of the fish sauce had spilled due to poorly placed lids. The rice portions were also missing part of the order. I was hungry and food didn’t taste delicious. That’s when you know it’s bad. Overall, no customer service provided (not even bad, it didn’t even exist) and food was missing. Thay vì đặc tên “Đạo Viện” nên đổi tên lắm “Đạo Lỗ” tai vi tiệm làm việc như cứt.

Great food and fantastic prices. We ordered the combo for 2 in the back of the menu: sweet and sour shrimp soup (I thought it was a small bowl of app and it came in a big metal pot on a burner 🤣🤣 it’s packed full of veggies (okra, so good!) and shrimp), caramelized cat fish clay pot, and garlic water Spinach. Also got the 5 rice combo from their regular menu and 2 Thai teas. The bill was $50 including an 18% tip. Highly recommend

Google
I order their rice dish and have them pack it to go and they literally can't includes a spoon/fork or any form of utensils at all and it for a TO GO ORDER THAT THEY PACK IN A BAG AND EVERYTHING. Please if you're reading this includes utensils in your customers TO GO ORDERS. Every restaurant that i ordered to go always have utensils. And it very inconvenient when you order it to go to take it on a trip for a long car ride and there nothing to eat it with. Not everyone order it to go home and eat. Please includes spoons and fork!🥲🥲🥲

For broken rice dishes, this is my go-to restaurant! I always order the same thing..and I always enjoy it. I do alternate the drinks….

Google
Broken rice evokes a sense of nostalgia for me. Soaked in nuoc mam with a mix of hot protein and pickled cabbage, com tam reminds me of my childhood and growing up in Garden Grove. I deeply craved com tam for lunch while driving my grandma around. We usually go to Thanh on Bolsa but my grandma wanted to try someplace new. You might think 3 stars, not a great review. But it's pretty average. My dish was $9.99 which is comparatively pricy and plus, it only came with one shrimp and no cucumbers. Strange to not have cucumbers. We ended up chopping our own as we had taken it to-go. Taste-wise, it hit the spot for me. There was more rice so I felt like my bites didn't have enough variety. My grandma wasn't a fan of her short ribs and gave her half to me for leftovers. We took advantage of the BOGO offer but they only had thai tea at the time. My grandma preferred it to be sweeter: you can taste mostly the tea. To each their own. It's highly unlikely I'll come back to this place as it's out of my way. But if I happen to be in the area and have a crave, I may return here or Google another place to try.

Yelp
One of my favorite broken rice places in the OC. This place is way less greasy than most of the other broken rice places and more of the items you see in my photos are morw fresh made. I especially love that they have banh hoi (rice vermicelli bundles) and hot pot here. I love getting the rice 5 colors (com tam 5 mau), it has everything I like, sometimes I add a sunny side up egg depending how hungry I am. The meats here are so tasty and easy to chew! (I have braces). Servers are quick to take your order upon arrival and very attentive. Also great for big groups! Recommend!!

Yelp
Large portions They take credit card and open late compared to other com tam places Overall taste was ok - i got the com tam 5 mau Was suppose to get thit nuong, suon nuong, bi, tau hu ky, and cha but got a double portion of the thit nuong didnt get to try the suon nuong. Wasnt a fan of the thit nuong it was thin and too fatty. They didnt turn on the ac even though it was hella hot I would only come back if my favorite place for com tam was closed or soemthing

Yelp
As a disclaimer, each person will have a unique experience at these restaurants, and not one interaction is ever the same. Note that none of these businesses expected me, nor do they commission any of my reviews. Thanks again for your time! [The Story] Since my recent trip to Vietnam, I've been craving and searching for the different Vietnamese Dishes I had an opportunity to try. One of these would be Com Tam, and since my GO TO place was closed @ 8:00 PM on a weekday, I needed to find a substitute restaurant to get my Com Tam Fix. So I chose a local fan favorite Com Tam Dao Vien. **** [What did I Order] I ordered: 1x Com Tam 5 Mon, Tem Nem Nuong (Broken Rice 5 Items, with an extra portion of Grilled Pork Sausage) Totaling: $22.00 USD no Tip ---- The Food: 3/5 The Com Tam dish I had ordered came with the following items: -Thit Nuong (Grilled Pork) -Bo Nuong (Grilled Beef) -Bi (Shredded Pork Skin) -Tom Tau Hu Ky (Minched Shrimp wrapped in Tofu Skin then Fried) -Cha (Steamed Egg with a Mix of items) This is why the Dish I ordered was dubbed "Com Tam 5 Mon" I then added an additional meat: -Nem Nuong (Grilled Pork Sausage) At 8:45 PM on a weekday, one can only expect so much from a restaurant closing their doors @9:00 PM. The meats were a bit on the drier side, being tough to chew while also lacking that signature smokiness that makes Com Tam meat so unique. The extra portion of Nem Nuong was dry as well while also being a bit on the colder side- seemed as if they threw in any extras they had left over. The Bi and Cha were lackluster- being they didn't really stand out as they should of. On the bright side, the Tau Hu Ky was flaky and full- meaning they had deep-fried it to a point where you still had the texture and bite of the Shrimp Paste while also giving the Tofu Skin that crunch when you bitten into it. It was probably the best thing on the dish. When paired with the Garlic, Cilantro filled Soup and Fish Sauce the dish really comes together. ---- The Service: 4/5 When I had called in to place my order the time was 8:20 PM and I was informed at the very beginning to arrive before 9:00 PM due to them closing as well as allowing enough time for her staff to clean and close out the day properly. Though my interaction was brief- I felt as if the women that had assisted me had a sense of urgency as well as understanding. I tend to always double check to-go orders due to having so many terrible experiences where my food was missing or a mismatched order. When I had done this, the Woman asked if everything was accounted for, and if it was not, she would go to the kitchen to requests the dish be remade properly. It's this detail that made me feel appreciated and generally cared for. **** Overall : 3/5 This place is named "Com Tam Dao Vien" so it's nice that they offer a menu item that allows you to taste so many different meats. Maybe it was the time I had placed my order but the meats and various items seemed to lack flavor, excluding the fish sauce they usually give you. This place is a little more pricey than my usual Com Tam spot for the amount of things they serve you. The Recommendation: Give this place a try at the very least because they do offer other dishes that are hard to come by even if you are a Westminster Native. I always advise going to Com Tam places in the morning because the likely hood for you to be served cold/dry meats are lower since many things will be prepped in the mornings. ---- Check out my latest review at Fogo De Chao, Huntington Beach!

Yelp
Rating 3.5/5 - Decent broken rice spot. -Rice: large portion which I really liked, perfectly broken -Pickled veggie: very good -Grilled pork: decent, tasted alright. I've had better versions of this at other com tam spots. -Egg cake: pretty good -Tofu skin wrapped shrimp: decent, the tofu skin was crunchy and yummy, the shrimp mixture inside was alright, felt like it could've been a little saltier/flavorful -Side soup: sooo good, full of garlic Overall it wasn't bad, but felt like the meats were not the star of the dish. Worth a try. Parking: was able to find parking easily Service: decent

Yelp
This com tam place is still my fav! The portions are perfect with protein/meat and rice ratio. Flavors are perfect! Even the pickled veggies on the side were good and crunchy. Service was okay.

Yelp
Don't let the appearance fool you. This is a good restaurant with delicious food. I love the cơm tấm/broken rice, especially with pork! (The BBQ rib pork or pork chop would both be good.) The wait to get a table on a weekend afternoon is a tad on the LONG side. To pass the time, take the kids to 7-Eleven next door for a frozen drink. Once you're inside, order as quick as possible. The food is gonna take a while but it's worth it! It's an exercise in patience and delayed gratification.

Yelp
This place has adequate parking and their prices are decent. I'd say their service is a bit wishy washy since sometimes they were a bit slow with things. Com Suon Cha, Tau hu ky, bi (pork chop, egg quiche, shrimp cake, and shredded pork) - the pork chop was pretty dry without alot of fat (i prefer the fatty parts). The egg quiche and the shrimp cake were amazing. The shredded pork combined with the rice is great. Their nuoc mam with a little dash of chili paste (it's super spicy, don't use alot. More spicy than red rooster). They give a complimentary soup which tastes a lot better than most com tam places. Although com tam is such a classic, this place is just okay. It's not mind blowing and the pork chop could use work. If it was juicier, this place would really be my go to spot.

Yelp
This is my go to com tam place. I usually order #30 bean curd shrimp, egg and grilled pork on rice. ($14) The grilled pork is divine. You can taste smokiness and the meat isn't too sweet. Although the dish is mostly rice, the amount of meat is enough. The bean curd shrimp is fried but not greasy. Love the pickled cabbage too. The amount of food given can serve 2.

Yelp
I've passed this place so many times before and finally got a chance to try it out! I got the Com Tam Tau Hu Ky + Suon Nuong which came with a side of Soup. The meal was great and comparable with other great Com Tam places, but the amount in the drinks were less than what we would usually get at other places. The meat was savory and smokey and the portions were enough to have leftovers. Still really delicious. My boyfriends family got here before we did and were able to order first, but the food didn't come out for another 7 mins once we got there. Service isn't super great, but the food made up for it.
google avatar

Tammy T.

Yelp
One of the better com tam places in OC! The service is fast, and the plates are huge! Meat is so tender and flavorful! I always opt for the suon nuong + tau hu ky.
google avatar

Natalie T.

Yelp
The food was good. I really enjoyed the shrimp that came with my order. Very flavorful. However I couldn't help it but to think the restaurant was a bit dirty. We had to ask for new empty dishes since the ones they brought us looked stained.
google avatar

Tonny V.

Yelp
The restaurant is located in a small plaza. Parking isn't hard. When you walk in, there are waiters ready to help you and seat you down if table available. Com Tam is good, my family members said they also like the sauce. To me, the sauce is a little bit sweet, but the dish is still good overall. I will come back for com tam here.

Yelp
This place is an authentic restaurant with some of the best vietnamese food in Westminster. It may not look like much on the outside, but this hole in the wall is a hidden gem. The dishes are packed with flavor and also have a pretty large serving size, enough for leftovers! Service is friendly and on top of it. Would highly suggest if your are looking for authentic vietnamese, this is the place to go!

Yelp
Best cơm tấm or Vietnamse broken rice in town!! Service couldn't get any better:) Also serve family meal or cơm phần!! Better than SGV for sure.. for my taste at least but you can trust my palate. That's all happy Cinco de Mayo!!

Yelp
After all these years, Com Tam Dao Vien is still my favorite com tam place. My go to order is the com tam 5 mau, it comes with 5 different type of meats such thit nuong/bbq pork, bo nuong/bbq beef, ta hu ky , bi, and cha. The com tam 5 mau is HUGEEEE, you can order extra bowl of rice and it can easily feed 2 people or you can eat 2x yourself. Sometimes I would sub out the bo nuong/bbq beef for suong nuong/pork chop. Trust me, order the com tam 5 mau, it is absolutely delicious.
google avatar

Judy D.

Yelp
The portion is big here, it would probably be enough for two people to share and they give you lots of meat. I like the shrimp paste wrapped here because they used more shrimp than tasting all flour inside. But the grilled pork could be a little better would give it a 7/10. The bi has good meat to skin ratio. Service was kind of confused today they kept on coming to confirm our orders but do come here on an empty stomach.

Yelp
So tasty and delicious Services was nice and big smiles greeting clients The restaurant was neat and clean We enjoyed and came back after 3 days in the week when I visited Orange County

Yelp
So far the only good com tam place in town that my family is going to. Highly recommended.

Gabriel L.

Yelp
My friends and I frequent this place and while they might have one of the best Bò lá lốt (BLL)in town but their service attitude sucks. They have 4-5 guys that need to have an attitude adjustment when it comes to the service industry. When you order the BLL on its own , you have to pay $2 extra if you want rice papers. It came with rice noodles , and we told them we would exchange that out for the rice papers instead. They can't do it. It is not a big deal but that again is customer service over a $2 deal. One of the most disturbing event that I saw was when their waiter who also served as their bus boy clean up the tables, the plastic cups that they use to serve you drinks that was "sealed" , if you leave these plastic cups behind , they would tear off the plastic sealers and save the cups for reuse to serve the next customers. They threw the sealer in the trash and then save the cups on the cart. See attached photo. If there is a City Foods Inspector that would come and observe their practice , it would FAIL. So disgusting , saving 50 cents on plastic cups over the safety of foods hygiene. This is how germs are spread . I'm sure they will probably rinse those cups in the back and reuse it without any thought about spreading germs from customers to customers . They also have no concept that you are not supposed to broom and clean the floor while you have people still eating in the restaurants . There are device to do that in order not to kick up dirts and debris while your customers are still eating. A foods inspector need to pay this place a visit .

Yelp
Oooooo this is my new favorite place for com tam! I've been here 2x already. My favorite is the banh hoi specials! I like the ga nuong & cha gio. Sooooo good! I love that you get to roll the spring rolls with the com tam items & load up with the fresh greens! I'll be back again & again. This is my new com tam place. Com tan Thuan kieu has fallen off the deep end with quality & flavor. Goodbye childhood!

Yelp
A group of us came on a weekday afternoon and it got busy by the time we left. I ordered the #32 Com tam hu kỳ + cha + sườn and it was good. The meat was well marinated and they gave a decent portion. The fish sauce was ok. The table felt sticky though. Service was decent. The parking lot can get busy out front.
google avatar

Yei Ling M.

Yelp
A no-frills spot with delicious food. This was the first spot we ate at after landing in SoCal. We were tired, hungry, and feeling so out of our element, but the food here brought us back to life. I believe I ordered #46, which was a broken-rice (com tam) dish with a wide assortment of toppings (bean-curd shrimp, fried egg, sausage, etc.). I was soo close to ordering a noodle soup dish (bun Bo hue), but you don't go to a com tam spot to not get com tam, right? I had NEVER had a com tam dish with the bean-curd shrimp before, and let me tell you, it's GAME-CHANGER. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Just the perfect contrast of texture and the flavors were on point. It's a simple topping, but I wish the restaurants near me had that. We really wanted to swing by and eat it again before we left, but we were so busy towards the end of our trip and we ran out of time. It's alright though, we'll be back next time!

Yelp
Need work on the fish sauce (nước mắm) not that good, the portion of meal ok, soup had too much garlic.

Tom N.

Yelp
Lần đầu tiên cũng như Lần cuối, nhân viên phục vụ một cách bất cần, order quên trước quên sau, kêu nước cũng không thấy đưa ra . Một sao cũng còn quá nhiều. See you no more. Worse restaurant.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside but I'm glad to say that Com Tam Dao Vien is one of the best spots for Com Tam (Broken Rice) in Orange County. It's located in a plaza next to Autozone on Westminster and Newland. The restaurant is a bit small and it is your typical Vietnamese restaurant and parking is limited as well. They also accept card payments and tap as well, along with cash of course. There is a wide selection of items on their menu, including Vermicelli Noodles and a wide selection of Com Tam dishes. I ordered #29 which included Tau Hu Ky, Ga Nuong, an egg, Nem, and some pickled vegetables. It's a great and filling meal that comes quick and is decently priced as well. Prices have risen because of inflation and your average dish will range from $10-15. Service is good, but this is your local Viet restaurant; don't expect them to treat you like a king. Come here if you want some great Com Tam in Westminster!
google avatar

Charles N.

Yelp
I drove around to find a quick place for lunch. Everywhere there was a wait so I came here. I have to say, the meat was better today than last time. The bi was so good. And the best part, I didn't have to wait. The restaurant was packed but the food comes out right away so the turnover is high. The broth wasn't that good though but everything else was delicious.

Jennifer L.

Yelp
Growing up, I've always been indifferent about com tam/broken rice. I never went out of my way to eat it. I recently tried a few places locally to see if any could change my mind, and none did until this one. Seriously, this place has the best com tam I've tasted. The thit nuong/grilled pork isn't dry or flatly seasoned, it's juicy!! Everything just goes so well together here particularly. The portion size is great as well and sometimes I will randomly crave it at night when it's beyond business hours lol. I later mentioned it to my mom and she says it's actually known as a great com tam place in the Viet community as well. Also the servers and staff are extremely friendly!
google avatar

Vivian C.

Yelp
Food was so yummy and for a great price. The portions were insane. Like I might not be able to eat anything else for the day. You can easily share a plate with someone else and both be full. Service was a little negligent so that's why I am taking off a star. It took a while to get our order taken after trying to catch their attention a few times. Also our drinks were brought out close to when we were almost finished eating. The restaurant is clean and spacious. It's a good place to eat with your family and friends. I would come back!
google avatar

Amanda N.

Yelp
Located in a strip mall. Service was ok. Food came out fast. Good portion. The most surprising and first time, you are chage for a cup of water to drink. Mind you it's not a bottle water or sparkling water, plain old tap water. Seriously who charges for water

David L.

Yelp
Menu prices are increased even cold water for 1 dollar a cup not recommended come here to eat there are a lots cơm tấm restaurants in Westminster little saigo.

Yelp
If I could give this place a zero star, I'm totally would. This place is such a RIB OFF and the service here is getting worst and worst. I was here back in Nov 2022 and got two orders of the grilled pork only. The total came out to be $10 and some change which is acceptable. Usually, whenever I ordered the grilled pork, they always gave me the fish sauce and the hot chili on a side ( free) no charge. Fast forward to today 01/08/23, I ordered two orders of the grilled pork like usual. The total came out to be $15.22. That was such a rib off!!! They increased the price within two months. UNACCEPTABLE! But what UPSET me the most is that, they charged me $1 for this tiny plastic cup of the red chili. I told the waiter " I've been coming here and you guys never charge for the red chili." Her response " Well, we don't give out free chili anymore, give me $1 if you want it." WTF ??? What kind of service is this ? For anyone that looking to try to this place, PLEAS DON'T !!! There are better com tam place around OC that you guys can try. This place is such a rib off, and the food is not even phenomenal.

Elsie N.

Yelp
This place has one of the best cơm tấm (broken rice) in the Bolsa areas. They have so many options so enjoy choosing what you want..!! Fast service if you eat inside restaurant. For to go, recommend order to pick up beca they can get very busy and the wait might be long. Highly recommend if you want to eat cơm tấm.

Yelp
Food was served quickly, no frills, and was delicious! My Vietnamese friend recommended this place and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was my first time having Tau Hu Ky, which is Vietnamese shrimp wrapped in bean curd. Like many Vietnamese dishes, it can be wrapped in rice paper and vegetables like a spring roll. The skin was flaky with plenty of shrimp. We also got Broken Rice with Tau Hu Ky, beef, and pork, which was flavorful. Yelp
really tasty Vietnamese food. Would visit next time. The number 35 com tam with grilled pork, bi, and cha is good

Yelp
My mom ordered Com Tám Thịt Nướng for pick up. When we arrived to pick up our food. Our total was $15.22. My mom paid 50 dollars for the food. But the cashier returned my mom's money to just $4.78. My mom was not happy about the cash exchange and it was suppose to be $34.74 at the estimate. But the cashier only rip my mom of with only 20 dollars in return, leaving 10 dollars missing. As a result, They created two mistakes today. If the restaurant cannot fix it's fair treatment towards its valued customers, how can we be sure to trust this restaurant in the future? If they do this again, we would have no choice but to search for other com tam restaurant establishments in the near future.

Yelp
Years ago, Com Tam Dao Vien would have unquestionably earned a six-star review from me, if such a rating existed. I was a devoted patron, cherishing every visit and savoring each bite of their exquisite Com Tam. It was more than just a dining place for me, it was an institution that defined a significant part of my culinary world. Back in the day, I was cautious about awarding any restaurant a full five-star review. Why? Because, knowing the influence my reviews carry, I was wary of creating a surge in customer traffic that might disrupt the cherished sanctity of my favorite eateries. Ironically, it seems Com Tam Dao Vien has faltered on its own. I am a veteran patron of this place, one who was there from the day the doors first opened. In its initial days, Com Tam Dao Vien exhibited an immaculate blend of service and food quality, deserving of an A+ rating. The experience was personal, almost intimate, defined by careful attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to providing a top-tier dining experience. However, the current state of affairs is far from the original grandeur. A particular incident stands out, symptomatic of the gradual degradation of the restaurant's standards. There is a middle-aged server who has been working there for some time now. Once a familiar and welcome presence, she's now taken on an air of proprietorial disdain, almost as if she's under the impression that she's the owner. Her face wears a permanent scowl, her demeanor is gruff, and she treats customers as if they owe her a favor. This level of arrogance is not only unprofessional, but it also mars the overall dining experience. It's always a frustrating encounter when employees forget their roles and presume they are the bosses. The Com Tam Dao Vien that I knew and loved is now just a fading memory. With its declining service standards and employees assuming proprietorship, the charm and appeal of the place have diminished significantly. It's a heartfelt loss, one that has left a bitter taste in my mouth. In the final analysis, it's a cautionary tale of what happens when success isn't managed with humility and an unwavering commitment to quality. Com Tam Dao Vien has shown us that the fall from grace can be sudden and drastic when complacency supersedes dedication to customer satisfaction. It's a sad reality that such a once-beloved restaurant has slipped from its pedestal. But the lesson here is clear: to maintain excellence, you must consistently strive to improve and never rest on your laurels.

Yelp
Com Tam Dao Vien has been my go-to spot for Com Tam the last few years. For the price point and the portion you get, I think it is fair. I love their com tam suong bo, it is my fave there. It is served with a side of veggies and nuoc mam for dipping. Honorable Mentions: -Plenty of parking -To-Go is available (call ahead)

Yelp
Decent broken rice in a pinch. A lot of dependable evening dining options have been shortening their hours during The Pandemic and Orange County is no exception. While Little Saigon used to have numerous late night restaurants to choose from, a lot of places have been closing earlier. So what to do if you're looking to get your cơm tấm fix? For a solution to broken rice cravings past 8 pm, Cơm Tấm Đào Viên aka Peach Garden Restaurant is decent. Ranging from $10 to $15, their rice plates serve up the typical barbecue pork, pork chop, shrimp, shredded pork skin, and fried bean curd wrapped shrimp paste options you'd expect at a cơm tấm place. Each plate comes with a small bowl of soup and pickled vegetables, served in decent portions... but honestly, the food itself here is just ok. There isn't any particular flavors that distinguish themselves from other broken rice restaurants and I've gotten the same dishes for cheaper at other places. However, if you want cơm tấm at 8:30 pm, this is not a bad spot to get it. I won't be swearing any Peach Garden Oaths here but I'm also a sucker for bánh hỏi and I noticed that's another thing they specialize in... I plan to be back for that.

Yelp
This cơm tấm place is interesting. While they offer the typical cơm tấm entrees, they also have an entire section of their menu dedicated to bánh hỏi variations of this same dish - it's like they subbed out the rice for bánh hỏi. My sister decided to venture in that direction and ordered the bánh hỏi, bò lá lốt + tàu hủ ky ($12.99). This roughly translates to thin vermicelli bundles with betel leaf beef rolls and a shrimp cake wrapped and deep fried in bean curd. None of these belong together, mind you, however, this happens to be a unicorn of my sister's favorite individual foods...together in one plate. Was it good? Not quite. The betel leaf beef roll was rather dry and so was her tàu hủ ky. My mom usually orders a cơm tấm medley that involves a grilled shrimp skewer. Here, she ordered the cơm tấm tàu hủ ky + cha + tôm khô ($10.99). Rather than a skewer, her dish came with a giant prawn the size of her fist. It was a definitely a first. If you're looking for a standard cơm tấm dish, I would suggest you order #46 which is the cơm tấm tàu hủ ky + bi + chả + opla + nem ($10.50). Broken rice with the deep fried shrimp cake, pork skin, steamed egg, fried egg and sausage - do this. My tàu hủ ky fared better than my sister's and all of the components worked together. What Com Tam Dao Vien does different is offer you different carb vessels - rice, noodles, the noodle bundles - with your favorite cơm tấm toppings. Looking for something different, but the same? This might be it.

Yelp
One of my boyfriends' and I favorite ComTam places. This place is delicious. It can get pretty busy here but it's worth the wait. Lots of options to choose from so choose wisely or better yet order different options and share with your good company. We got the special with shredded pork, steamed egg, pork, beef, and fried shrimp cake. Everything was so flavorful and this meal definitely filled us up. We both ordered the same thing. Boyfriend finished his whole meal feeling that food coma after, I attempted to finish but to no avail. I had left overs for the next day . The rice plate came with soup which was flavorful but nothing to rave about. The hot sauce though, that was packing heat, so a little goes a long way. Parking: plenty of Parking there is a parking lot, so no issues there. Happy eating!

Yelp
5 stars for service, prices and taste! I came here on a Saturday with my Mom. Located off Westminster Ave with limited parking. Restaurant is rather large and was half way full. The staff is extremely friendly, helpful and they hustle. Taking orders, delivery orders, cleaning tables, prepping. No one is standing around. We both ordered com tam with Korean short ribs, steamed eggs, shredded pork and pickled cabbage. My Mom's dish included the fried shrimp cake. You first get a small bowl of fish sauce (perfectly mixed - definitely add red chili sauce so you can get a little kick and extra flavor) and a larger small bowl of broth with chopped green onions and crispy onion bits. So good and comes hot! The plates are huge! Definitely 2 meals- the rice is perfectly cooked. The meats are perfectly marinated and grilled. Loved the steamed egg and fried shrimp cake. The pickled cabbage - everything was fresh, well seasoned and again, the portion is huge! Definitely a new favorite spot. Their menu is so extensive that I can't wait to try something else.

Yelp
I want to like the place but their fish sauce is too spicy for me. Wish they have seperate red pepper instead of mixing so much in their fish sauce so everyone could enjoy the nước mắm.

Yelp
Short lady working had the audacity to yell at us while we were trying to wait for a table. It's unfortunate because this was my favorite com tam spot but I'll never step foot in this business again.

Yelp
Food might be good, but services and paste. Horrible. Need to retrain servers. Be more prepared on holidays. Waiting 45 minutes for a plate, a plate that they should specialized and shouldn't take over 15 minutes.

Yelp
It's really good and price is not that bad, I usually get grilled pork vermicelli and fresh orange juice,

Yelp
I came here when my other com tam place was closed and decided to try this place out. This place is good but it's low key so expensive, had gotten 2 kbbq plates with egg and fried shrimp tofu along with a banh hoi and the total came out to 54 dollars. They do give you quite a lot for portions, I'll give them that. I don't rlly like their fried shrimp tofu, it taste a bit weird to me and I'm pretty picky with fried shrimp tofu from certain places, if it don't taste right I won't eat it.

Yelp
I'm very disappointed on how this restaurant operate. We ordered the Banh Hoi La Lot dish, the taste of the La Lot was good but the lettuce & herbs that they brought out for us to "roll" the food was very lacking. There was 3 leaves of the mint, there were tons of coriander leaf and I'm talking tons. We asked if we can get some mints to wrap the foods with, or give us some Shiso leaves , they said it would be $3 more. Are you freaking serious?? We also order the Com Tam Bi , Thit nuong , Eggs, & Tau Hu Ky. The "bi" was no where to be found on my plate . Mostly are pork skin and that was it. Again a total disappointment.
