Portions and servings were great for the price. We ordered two different rice plates and a noodle soup. I don't eat pork, so the owner (or manager) offered me a beef soup instead. She said to keep hydrated. So thoughtful! Inside is a typical Vietnamese place with old school decor. But everyone is very nice.

Best Vietnamese restaurant. I highly recommend broken rice here.

Pretty good. Not cheap necessarily, but not overly expensive.

Extremely arrogant and terrible attitude 😅, deserved to have no customers during dinner time while other restaurants are full😂🤣

Huge portion. Decent quality. Cash only though.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOOD. I get take-out from here all the time for years now. They have the BEST Vietnamese rice combos. Get #25 or #26 with the sliced pork. It's sooo much food. That's enough food for 2-3 people. The prices have gone up due to inflation but the large portions have remained the same. I have never dined in but there is a lot of space. I have never seen it packed. They also have speedy service. Credit and cash accepted. There is a big parking lot.

Pho doesn't have a lot of noodles or meat and the quality of the meat is not very good. The com tam came with a dry pork chop. Bun bo hue broth is not good either.

Yelp
I've started coming here when it first opened up back in 2010 when I was a high school senior. Fast-forward 15 years later, and it's still as good as ever! I stopped coming between 2014 till now because I moved out from this town and have tried other places nearby. But today I was craving com tam and I remembered this place is still around so I came back here to eat it. My #58 dish dish was delicious. It has sausage, pork, and a side of sunny-side up egg. The rest of my party ordered bun bo hue, which is good and flavorful. Another one ordered the com tam bi cha suon and tasted great. There's plenty of parking here. Shared in a plaza with an acupuncture and dentist office, and other offices around. Service was quick and attentive. Typical of any Vietnamese restaurants.

Yelp
Growing up, I would always come here with my family. I loved how they had dishes with lots of side options. I remember back in the day, they would always complement the dish with a free glass of Nuoc Mat, which was artichoke ice tea, which they eventually stopped giving out. I remember as a kid that was my highlight of the place. The workers are super nice, it's ran by these aunties and uncles, which gave me a homey vibe. The place is very spacious so it can accommodate a big family if needed. I would always come here with a party of 12+ and they always made it work! Fast service and the food is delicious! I personally always get the 69, which is Com Tam Bi, Cha, Thit Suon Bo Dai han (broke rice with shredded pork skin, steamed egg, korean bbq ribs). I also would recommend tau hu ky (bean curd skin wrapped on shrimp), and the Chao tom (Vietnamese sugarcane shrimp) which is shrimp paste wrapped on a sugarcane and they grill it. It super sweet and savory. If you guys love those crispy shrimp balls THEN I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TRYING THOSE TWO SHRIMP SIDE DISHES with your Com Tam!

Yelp
This Vietnamese restaurant serves most of Vietnamese authentic foods. Especially, cơm tấm Gà Nướng, Chả. The lady owner is also friendly, nice. This time, I ordered Bun Cha Ha Noi. I love it! It so delicious and big portion for 1 people.

Yelp
Saturday January 13th 2024 7:30PM Parking: not a problem. Service: Nice people but they don't speak much English and it would definitely help to bring someone that speaks Vietnamese. Once you're inside you will be greeted and seated right away. The place is clean and music videos from the one tv in the back is very loud. There are forks, chopsticks, a napkin dispenser and spoons along side with condiments at the table. Our server did his best to understand what we wanted to order and brought it out quickly. Restrooms are in the back side near the tv. "Phõod" here is good and comes out piping hot! I like both hot of the hot sauces here[they aren't the best but pretty good]. The cost for phõ is about $15 plus tax. The whole menu seems a bit pricy but it's worth coming since you don't have to wait long for service and food & don't forget that the food comes out pleasantly hot. Definitely will come back since it's kind of hidden away from other spots that can get bus

Yelp
Compared to golden deli (which is popular for com tam) this place was so much better! Portions and serving was great for the price. We two difference rice plates and a noodle soup. I don't eat pork so the owner (or manager) offered me a beef soup instead, she said to keep hydrated. So thoughtful. Inside is a typical Vietnamese place with old school decor. Yelp
I ordered Bún Bò Huế Đặc Biệt Xe Lửa XL and Bánh Hỏi Đặc Biệt. The owner and staff are very professional and the food is delicious. I will come back again next time. Thank you.

Yelp
I wanted to try another Vietnamese restaurant in the San Gabriel area besides King Com Tam, so my friend recommended me his childhood spot: Com Tam Ninh Kieu. I ordered the special plate for 20.99, which gives your choice of meat: beef, ribs, or porkchop. I decided to choose the porkchop, and the food came out in less than 5 minutes :). The service was super attentive and excellent here, and they give complimentary hot ox tail soup as well. The portion sizes are huge and are enough to find 3-4 people solely, and their ingredients of the pork skin are flavorful and plentiful. The porkchop had a nice sauce to it, and the addition of fish sauce and chili oil really complimented the dish. My total came out to be about $24.00, which was very reasonable. Note: They don't accept Apple Pay, so make sure you have card or cash ready. Highly recommend for Vietnamese lovers in the area!

Yelp
Got the house special noodle soup and the egg rolls for takeout. The noodles broken so easily and the texture was weird. The egg rolls were big and tasted decent but the hot egg rolls did melt the styrofoam box a bit. So I probably ate some of that melted styrofoam. The total was $30.64. Service was fast.

Yelp
Fast service, delicious food with great value. One of my go tos for broken rice! I think it may be cash only so just make sure to have some handy :)

Yelp
Great food selection and price. The restaurant is spacy and staffs are friendly. Got bun thit nuong with chao tom, tasty

Yelp
I usually enjoy mom and pop Asian restaurants and tried this place for dinner. Was sorely disappointed with quality of both the pho and Vietnamese coffee. The Vietnamese coffee with condensed was just served in a styrofoam cup and not in the drip cup that is usually served and the restaurant had the audacity to charge $5 for that crap. Pho barely had any noodles and only 3 pieces of meat. I do not recommend this place at all.

Mandy L.

Yelp
Childhood favorite! Been eating here for almost 10 years, and I recommend their Com Tam Ninh Kieu special. Their special also comes with beef/pork broth. It's enough to feed more than two people, plus we always have leftovers! The people working here don't really speak English but you can just point at the item number/picture. The decor is just very old Vietnamese style but they recently just redecorated and got new furnitures. The parking situation here is super easy. This place is so much better than King Com Tam in price and portion size.

Yelp
Terrrible attitude, deserved to have no customer during dinner time while other restaurants are full, not far away from closing hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

Yelp
The best shrimp spring rolls ever, they should give more in 1 order 3 is not enough lol
google avatar

Yelp
Going strictly on memory, this is the type of restaurant I want to re-visit again and again. First of all not to worry the staff speaks enough english to make ordering and asking questions easy. We had pho, egg rolls and spring rolls and some com tam (broken rice dish) The restaurant was so clean and looks like it was recently remodeled. The menu also has so many options to chose from and the prices are actually very reasonable compared to some other places. The menu does say prices are 1 dollar more than what is printed on the menu.

Yelp
There's lots of competition in the 626 area for the best broken rice. I wouldn't say this is the best, but it's made fresh and hot. What do I mean by that? Well in the past, I've gone to a few Com Tam spots and a big turn off is when your food comes out at room temp. How hard is it to make hot food for your customers? Well Com Tam Ninh Kieu offer that beautiful balance of good flavors and every item is piping hot. Meat wasn't sitting under the hot lamp and the egg rolls are fresh off the fryer. I've never gotten a bad meal here. Also, if you want your coffee fix. Do try their strong iced coffee. Hopefully you can sleep after that drink.

Yelp
What in the world was I thinking? I've driven by this place many times the past two months since I've been down in the San Gabriel area visiting. I've noticed this place is often empty - No Customers! But there's plenty of parking spaces too, so it's not like the restaurant is hard to access. That alone should tell you there's something seriously wrong with the place. Anyway, I was invited by a family member to dine here for lunch. I couldn't refuse without being rude - well, I should have been rude. Came here around 2 PM today, got seated immediately as there's only one other customer. My mom, my aunt and me all ordered Banh Uot (Rice Rolls) with basically ham, fried shrimp bean curd and egg rolls. This was terrible! We waited almost 30 minutes for the dishes and we thought they were busy steaming the rice rolls. Nope! My mom caught them at the counter opening up one of those prepackaged rice rolls you buy at the store. And the Horror is that the lady at the counter used her bare hands to pick up and plate these rice rolls!! Where are the gloves or tongs? Absolutely Disgusting! Keep in mind, these rice rolls dishes took up two pages of their menu so they should have been prepared with ingredients to cook as well! SMH! People - Avoid this Place! They should be closed down! They don't actually make their food in house and they are so unclean!

Yelp
The place I used to go was closed, so gave this place a try. Some item from rice plate was too dry. Maybe was overcooked or from day before. My kid try the red rice with Cornish chicken, red rice look like it's burns and hard. Didn't dine in, was to go and saw people in kitchen just scoop soup in the togo container and microwave hot (maybe last week soup).

Yelp
I think the people are incredibly sweet. Personally not the best pho or broken rice place I've been to, but it's not bad. I would say it's pretty average. Pho 3/5: I would prefer a little more noodles, I took two big bites and it was basically all of it(we ordered a large). I don't think I would come here again for the pho (but, it's decent if you're here and craving it). Broken rice 4/5: I really enjoyed the broken rice and would come back for that. Give it a try if you're here, I think it may be the best on the menu. I would say it's average, maybe a bit better, but I'm bias, nostalgia plays a big factor for my favorites in the 626. I wouldn't say this is my go to Vietnamese resturant, but it's convenient.

Yelp
Broken rice venue -- This place has yummy broken rice plates and over 167 variations, combinations and permutations of broken rice, pho or salads. My take on Broken rice is basically white rice that is broken before cooking but it also implies it is served with some form of egg cake (quiche) or BBQ protein (pork chop, chicken, chinese sausage or meatballs). Pairing is some fresh shredded veggies, lettuce and shredded (cold deli) meat, including shrimp cake (meat loaf like). Add a fried egg for about $1 I've tried their spring rolls and they never disappoint. The place is huge and parking is plentiful. You get a complimentary small bowl of [bone] soup. Most items have green onions for garnishment or visual effect. If you're not into onions, ensure you ask ahead. I have not found a plate with a big boneless piece of BBQ meat like a big steak or chop, other than chicken. Most of the BBQ pieces are bite size for a good portion. With the BBQ taste a big Kansas Steak would be amazing. Maybe it"s me but sometimes the charbroiled is so intense I can almost taste the fuel. The service is efficient and the pricing is full of value ranging from $9.99 to $13.99 per dish. I ordered the $16.99 #167 and loved it! Here is my takeaway: If you're looking for broken rice in SGV this is the place~ Enjoy!

Yelp
Love the food even if the waiters don't speak English fluently. The menu has pictures to pick from. Visited twice and the food is consistently good. Has a cool atmosphere and nice feel to the restaurant. Ambiance definitely cool.

Yelp
It is a pricier vietnamese restaurant specializing in meat rice com tam dishes but well worth the quality. There is a minimum for card I believe as I had to use their indoor atm a few times (had to pay a transaction fee :( ) but the best way to describe their food is rich in quality and flavor. They do invest in their food ingredients and you can tell. However last i recall expect to spend 13- 16$ on average for a dish. Parking lot is pretty big im guessing 50-80 spots or more in their outlet mall parking but on busy afternoons it can get packed. Their is also street parking but it can take like maybe 5-7 cars. Night time you should have no problem finding a spot just during busy noon times especially on weekends. The restaurant has maybe 15-20 tables and small ~ 5 seater bar dining for solo eaters. The ambiance is slightly pleasant neon lighted glares with vietnamese music.

Yelp
This place is truly a hidden gem! For years I would come here especially for their nem nuong cuon (#23. Charbroiled meatball 4 rolls) and any broken rice dish. The rolls are THEE best, even now when I live an hour away I would drive here to get it! I recently came by and noticed they renovated a lot, the inside looks more modern (new tables, seating, and light fixtures), and their plates are fancier. I love when a small business invest in itself! I highly recommend coming here for authentic Vietnamese food.

Yelp
Oops finished my bun rieu and mien with soup bone. Food is authentic and mounds of flavor. These types of Vietnamese restaurants are a dying away to make way for Chinese food. Come try it before it's completely gone.

Yelp
My parents used to love coming here to get the broken rice with the 10 items. Cleanliness isn't the best here, but the food is decent. Not the best broken rice or pho I've ever had, but not a bad value and very local. I personally only get the com tam here to-go, and for the price, it's not a bad value. Flavor is decent and portion is good. Overall score: 3.5/5

Yelp
The spring rolls here are bomb. Big pieces of nem noung and the dipping sauce is good. My new favorite local spot for it

Yelp
Have never visited this restaurant pre-covid so our experience is based on take-out. The menu was very extensive so we went with the Banh Uot Dac Biet (House Special) and the Com Tam Ninh Kieu 7 Mon "A" so we were able to try all their meats and choices. I was happy that I went with that option because the portion was big! The food was enough for 3 people. I went with the pork option for the broken rice and was hoping for more thit nuong (charbroiled pork) style but it was more like grilled pork. Love their bean curd skin w/ shrimp and their baked egg. I would definitely come back and order their other dishes like Banh Hot and Banh Canh because those are some of my favorite dishes. Also, there was definitely no shortage on nuoc mam (fish sauce). They gave us 4-5 containers worth of it!

Yelp
This is not a fancy restaurant but food is very tasty. My mom actually recommended this place. She often brings us food from this restaurant when she visits and we enjoy it very much. And now we go there too. They have dine in but I think they have a much bigger togo business. That's what we usually do. The ladies that work there, probably one of them is the owner are very courteous. We usually get our food pretty quickly after we order. They have a big selection in their menu from noodles to rice and bun. We love their banh hoi! For those who may want to dine in, their set up is like a typical Vietnamese restaurant, very casual for small or bigger groups. One thing to note is there are several locations with the same name so they will always want to make sure you are calling the right one which is the one on Valley near Rosemead.

Yelp
I like their Ninh Kiều khai vị đặc biệt, special sauce eat with nem nướng, chè 3 màu, and bún bò huế. Enjoy every bite,

Yelp
I love the food here! Every time when my parents are craving for com tam, we always call this place for take-out. Their food for take-out is in bigger portions than in-door dining. But I am giving 2 out of 5 stars, and here's why... Recently, I came to this restaurant to pick up our take-outs. Let's just say, the staff at this restaurant did not live up to the CDC guidelines amid the pandemic. When I went to go pick up my orders, I saw two staffs (one preparing my bun bo hue order, and the other was at the front desk) NOT wearing their face mask. That's so disgusting and very disrespectful to customers. Anywho, I ordered some com tam and bun bo hue. The com tam was already packed when I got there but was still in the process of making the bun bo hue. There were two staffs making the bun bo hue. One of them wore a mask, the other didn't. The staff who DID NOT wear a mask was talking a lot while preparing the food. I cannot believe that she had the audacity to pack the food and hand it to me. I told my boyfriend, who was waiting in the car, that I do not want to take the bun bo hue home because the order is contaminated. I did what I believed was the right thing to do. I told the cashier lady that I want a re-make of this order because one of the staff who was preparing the order did not wear a mask. The cashier lady asked the staff if it was true and she said yes. The original staff who prepped my order and wore a mask re-make the bun bo hue for me. This staff and the cashier lady apologized to me about it. But because of this experience, I am pretty hesitant about eating out again.

Yelp
Good news is you get Some serious portions served here, but not so good news is I've had better. This locations is close to my aunts house so it's convenient but for the most part the taste and quality lacks here. This place is mostly known for their broken rice dishes with diff combinations of meat. But there are other items available if you don't want a rice dish. If you dont see what you want on the menu, you can always make you're own by telling them what you want. We almost always get the combination meats because it's a little bit of everything. But if I had to choose or to recommend a type of meat, you can't go wrong with the charbroiled pork or beef. Chinese sausages are a little dry. Egg cakes and fried tofu cake aren't bad but I've had better. Everything else isn't really worth mentioning. Services like any other typical Vietnamese place, it lacks and could use some work. Im pretty sure we'll be back cause it's convenient, but way better places and portions in OC.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend. He said the broken rice is good here. So I came with my family and gave it a try. The broken rice was very good! We ordered the largest combo, it had 7 different toppings & it was soooo yum! Everything on the plate was good! The rice texture was perfect! We also ordered the dry vermicelli, pho, & egg rolls. They were ok too. But the broken rice is the best. I would come back for the broken rice. :)

Yelp
Things are pretty good here I'm pretty satisfied but the prices have grown over the years so beware other than that everything's fine pretty good typical place for broken Rice

Yelp
I have been here many times and the food has always been good at satisfying my cravings. The Com Tam is affordable and they give generous portions. The egg rolls are also quite tasty as well. The service is just ok. I never really expected it to be that great. I feel like they assume you know what you want the moment you walk in as they have always immediately asked the moment we sit down what we want. Or they wait about 30 seconds before coming to our table asking if we knew what we want to order. After my most recent experience I have vowed to never come to this place when it's within 30 minutes of closing time. Once it hits close to closing time they really make you feel like you're in their way of going home and you should hurry up and leave. The began to close everything in their store within 10 minutes of closing time and then gave us the check and 10 minutes later asked if we wanted a box, when we weren't even done eating. I'm not too surprised with the treatment, but it was still not very pleasant to go through. When we were trying to pay the bill they said cash only. Then we said we only had card so they said they'd charge us an extra $1 for card(which I find totally ridiculous). The service isn't going to stray me from coming next time though. I do really enjoy their food a lot. I come for the food not the service. I will just make sure to bring cash and come with an appropriate time to eat or just order take out(which most people do anyways).

Yelp
This is my favorite restaurant for this delicious dish & I have been to several Vietnamese places where they serve this dish, but to me this is the best. The pork chops are actually grilled and coo1qked to perfection and very juicy. The baked egg is flavorful soft and spongy. I been coming here for over 7 years and have not found a place that does this dish better .

l h.

Yelp
I support small business but I called their B.S. and will no longer be their customer. I placed a phone order for nem nuong roll for my mom. Went to pick up my order. The lady at the front grabs the pre-wrapped one on the counter and gives it to me. I touched the outside plastic and asked her why she gave me the cold rolls. I told her every place I ordered from comes out warm, not cold. Her excuse was it would wilt the veggies. If it's fresh and eaten right away there would be no issues. Her facial expression implied to me as if I don't know what I am talking about. Lady, I had nem nuong from many other restaurants and in Vietnam. If you make it fresh it would at least be warm. You run a restaurant and don't understand that concept, then you shouldn't be in the restaurant business. Definitely will not be supporting this place.

Yelp
Came here with my food buddy last night Jennifer T. and all we did was eat last night. Tonight was her turn to choose and she picked this place that we haven't ate before, but I did remember vaguely that I ate here over 20 years ago. Perhaps it was named something else at one point. Isn't much parking for this place, but you can find street parking along valley blvd. Service was okay also, but there was this elderly worker that gave me some negatives vibes. He didn't even smile at all. Perhaps it was the language barrier. I did try my best to speak cantonese, but eh didn't work to my favor. Tonight we ordered two dishes 1) Combination com tam (broken rice) plate that had 10 different items. Some of the items were the shrimp paste, chicken, nem nuong, pickled vegetables, eggrolls, and the vietnamese steamed quiche. I thought the "Sample Platter" was amazing! Those are usually the things I eat when it comes to com tam. Can't forget the fish sauce (nuoc mam). 2) Egg rolls- Plate which included greens, pickled vegetables, and fish sauce! With this plate you would get the egg roll and roll it up with the pickled vegetables and dip it into the fish sauce! You would repeat throughtout the duration of the eating experience until most of the ingredients are done Happy eating folks!!

Yelp
Decent, average Vietnamese food. Food is good for big portions. They are known for their broken rice with meat combinations. They do serve dry noodles with meat, spring rolls, and pho, but broken rice is in their restaurant name. Pricing for rice is around 6 to 9. Dry noodles about 8. I have been here a couple of times and it's very spacious, humid as there is no air conditioning, and they have some flies and fruit flies just a heads up. Do not be discouraged, they have been around for a while. Service is okay.
google avatar

Yelp
This place is decent, and also cash only. Some of the specials on the wall is only written in Viet, but a quick Google search will give you a rough idea what they are. I really like the pork spring rolls they serve here as an appetizer. The pork is soft and juicy. The texture of the spring roll is nicely paired with a mini fried egg roll that gives a nice crunch with each bite. This is what I usually buy to go for a simple lunch. My husband ordered the pho tai fillet with beef on the side. The beef is more soft and tender when you add it in yourself instead of having it in the broth when served. I had the bun bo hue. I like the tingy and spicy soup flavor. This place actually served it with shredded banana flowers on the side. Most places serve it with purple shredded cabbage as a cheaper substitute.

Yelp
1 came here around 6pm on a friday, completely empty 2 asked to get comtam with sausage and korean bbq ribs but told us they cant customize plates. They have every other combo under the sun but that. They cant just add it on? 3 had hair in the food 4 hard to even get waiters attention for refill of water. Yelled out for him from across the room(lowkey felt good) Mediocre food, not bad. Probably do to go order but will not return for sit down dining

Yelp
Friends took me here because I wanted to try more Vietnamese cuisine. When we got there are maybe 7:30pm, it wasn't too busy. There were a decent number of tables, and we were seated at booths. - Service: Seems like a mom and pop shop; our server might have been one of the owners. He was attentive and got us started on the free drink (sweet chrysanthemum tea) right away and gave us time to order. He came back a couple of times since we were taking a while, but I didn't feel rushed. Later, he got one of my friend's orders wrong, but after double checking on the menu, gave it to her on the house and quickly put in the correct order. She happily stuffed egg rolls and shrimp paste into her woven noodle sheets! At the end of my meal, I asked for a box for my leftovers and they included a side of fish sauce to-go as well. My food: - Broken rice with chicken, shredded pork, and baked egg (cha trung). The piece of chicken was large and juicy and tasted like it was basted with teriyaki sauce(?)--sweet and soy might have been used. I'm not sure what the shredded pork was seasoned with; the texture of seasoning was grainy and sort of reminded me of peanut powder. It was also mixed with thin vermicelli and there were crunchy pickled carrot and daikon(?) on the side. Not a bad flavor, just not what I am used to. My favorite element was the baked egg! Vietnamese baked egg reminds me of steamed egg which my mom makes with ground pork, but it has more ingredients like (I'm guessing by sight) thin vermicelli, shiitaki mushrooms, and carrots. It's like Asian meatloaf. SO GOOD! - All of us ordered different things (spring rolls appetizer, broken rice, woven rice noodle sheets, etc.), but received a complimentary side of fish sauce and a small bowl of soup. Carrots and daikon (?) are in the sauce. The soup is a light broth and included some kind of meat (looked like spare ribs), not too oily and topped with onions. - The portions are large and great for the price. My friends also enjoyed their meal.

Yelp
Location: Good, it was in a plaza that's easy to spot Parking: Medium sized private parking lot for customer's convenience Food: Less than average. Pho-Their pho was straight up bad. The broth tasted very oily and weird- they definitely over did it on the MSG. The pieces of meat in the pho were filled with fat and they had a small ratio of noodles compared to the bowl size. Bun Ryieu?- It was noodles in tomato soup with rolled up shrimp, tomatoes and tofu. This was delicious. The noodle was a bit tough but everything else was spot on. Service: Way below average. The server spoke very little English, which was fine, my mom knew Vietnamese. Even though he communicated to her, the server wasn't patience with our order and lots of the things we tried ordering, they were out of. At the end, we wanted the table cleaned up so we can cut cake for my sister and I's birthday but they ignored our request. I understand, it was getting late, they were about to close and they wanted us out- but it was a bit rude to ignore us repeatedly. Worst thing? My dad got food poisoning from this place. He ordered the fish cake soup. He mentioned that he didn't like his meal at the end and felt sluggish. We thought it was due to the overdose of MSG. He fell asleep really early that night. The next day, he just couldn't keep anything down his stomach. Everything he consumed, along with liquids, ended up being projectile vomit through his mouth. This was the very last thing he ate before he was ill and now we're tending to his needs. He's 91 years old, so it might be that his immune system is weak, but this is his first time getting food poisoning in 10+ years. Maybe we were unlucky, went on a night where things weren't cooked as accurately? I just want to warn you- if it tastes funny, stop eating it!

Yelp
debated giving them 2 stars, because they're not terrible, but i think anything that affects a person healthwise merits an automatic complete fail. i would come here often for a few months now, they had the best value for their bun rieu, pricier than other locations but there were more crab meatballs and sausage slices than other places. the soups are always piping hot, but not necessarily better in quality, and it's as though they make it so boiling hot so that you can't really notice that. the last time i came here, i got bun rieu, and i feel like something tasted kind of off about it. like the taste was 90% there, something was just missing. i had a painful stomach for about a week, i monitor what i eat and i'm pretty sure it was from this place. i didn't try it again until yesterday, with some friends. wanted to give them another chance, maybe it was a one-off. they ordered the #1, i got bun bo hue this time. today, i'm having stomach cramps again. it also didn't taste right. my friends were fine, i guess you can't go wrong with #1 at a pho restaurant, how do you mess up basic beef pho? the bun bo hue, and bun rieu soups though, idk if they were using old, crappy meat that was about to go bad. this place is nearly always empty day and night, the prices are pretty high despite not offering quality, and now i feel like theyre cutting corners on their food quality to the point where customers are getting diarrhea. i'm not going back a third time

Yelp
4.24.26: Will never return again. We sat and the lady there just ignored us for awhile. She came finally and the first things she said is are you ready? Hello we are freaking thirsty. We came at an odd time with about only two other tables in the restaurant. So why she being that way? Bad day I guess. Anyhow we order and the food came out super duper quick. I order the rice dish with charbroiled pork, my mom ordered noodle soup dish, and finance ordered rice dish as well. We took one bite and all of us was like wth? The rice was alot of it but hard. Old rice maybe? I ate everything else, but it was super bland the meatloaf egg cake thing which is usually my favorite it wasn't good at all here. My mom's soup was missing flavor. She didn't really care for it but of course ate it anyways. The place was pretty terrible. Unfortunately because there are other places I can't say I'll come back here. Too much competition to say I'll come back, but yeah maybe one day because all restaurants have bad days? We will see.

Yelp
Cash only, despite no signs specifying such. But it's a classic small Asian restaurant in the 626, so you shouldn't be too surprised. Service: the place is large and usually empty, so service is reasonably fast about seating, taking orders, and getting the check. We came on a weekend afternoon and found it fine. Food: they're famous for their broken rice (com tam), and their portions are HUGE for the price. For $9, you can easily have 2 meals if you pace yourself. I also recommend the charboiled pork or beef, which are equally delicious. The fish sauce it comes with is quite generous. Not sure what a previous Yelper was talking about; it's only small if you plan on drinking it like soup.

Yelp
This is one of our to go for Vietnamese rice plate. The kids always order the same dish #26. My usual bowl of bun bo hue, spicy beef noodle, will be replaced soon, as my kids always asked me to try a different one. Anyhow, today it is not spicy at all, kind of disappointed.
