Delicious cơm tấm(broken rice)! I got #51 on the menu and I really like that they cut the meat up for you. There are a lot of tables to eat at. This is a great spot to enjoy cơm tấm and have a conversation with friends. The prices are a bit higher than I'm used to. The service is standard. This place is always busy on the weekend so definitely be ready to flag down the waiters when you need service.

I got a combo broken rice plate with pork and their meat cake. Over all the food was good service was quick but the prices I feel compared to other places were a little high. It is going to run you about 20 bucks per rice dish.

My wife and I came here to eat, the restaurant did not greet us at the door, when we were waiting, they keep serving other customers first, we waited about 20 minutes before we were served and it was EMPTY when we were waiting, then they serve the family that came after us. And when the food came out, it was incredibly disappointing, 20 dollars with tax for a small dish or rice, with barely anything on it. Not worth the visit at all

One of the best com tam in Sacramento. Lots of options and combinations for your com tam (rice dishes). They are served with a side bowl of soup. Portions are quite large. It’s worth ordering different dishes and share. Clean restaurant with quick and friendly service.

The cơm tấm is pretty good, recommend. Pho has a lot of stuff, pretty generous compared to some other restaurants. Not sure why there are some reviews complaining about the service; I've been here several times and the server is pretty nice.

The food was delicious and service was great! I ordered the hainan chicken rice. It comes with a cup of soup, a sweet sour dipping sauce, flavorful rice and chicken that was tender. The meal is simple yet filling. We are definitely going back again to try more dishes.

Best place to eat rice. I love BBQ pork chop. Service is always excellent even when they have a full house. The bill was fair for the quality of the food.

Com Tam Thien Huong holds a soft spot in my heart! I've been going to their locations in San Jose ever since I was a kid, and this spot definitely didn't disappoint either. I actually think the food at this one tastes better than the food from the SJ locations! I alternate between getting #70 and #71, both taste great and are pretty much the same dish. The soup that they serve with the com tam is also great, and is my favorite part of the dish. This spot is great for a quick, casual meal. Just a heads up that I believe they're cash only!

This is a sister business to the four places in San Jose and of equal quality. The place is very clean, and I've enjoyed every com tam dish I've had there. The owners are also nice.

Broken rice plate is the name. The only down side is that a little pricy for the portions 3.5/5 Plate was loaded with goodies shrimp cake, lemongrass pork and pork skin. Overall great flavors marinated meat the shrimp cake was crispy n tasted fresh. Definitely recommend.

Heck yaaaa! So happy they have a Com Tham Thien Huong here in Central Valley. The only one I have been to is the one in the Bay Area. And in my opinion that's where you can really find the best Asian food. So I'm celebrating that there is a Com Tham Thien Huong here. It's a little bit of a drive for me, but not as far as going to the Bay Area, and it's totally worth it. This place specialty is the broken rice. A lot of the Vietnamese restaurants in this area that I have found either don't have broken rice on the menu, or lack of certain ingredients that makes the dish delicious and authentic. They offer the sugar cane wrapped shrimp, fried shrimp cake, egg meat pie, shredded pork skin. My favorite broken rice plates are from their Special Combination section, numbers 70-73..delicious! 5 stars and this is my new go to!

They say cơm tấm used to be for the poor, because it was made out of left over crops. Now other restaurants would make cơm sườn more than cơm tấm, because it's more easier to prepare. Since broken rice turned into a delicacy, most of the time the kitchen would have to recreate it from whole grains. When people think of cơm tấm, they think of thịt nướng. I want to keep it halal as possible. I don't eat pork. So I always go for the sườn bò Đại Hàn or Korean beef ribs. How you know it's really good is from the nước mắm pha or fish sauce mix. Nước mắm pha isn't the same term as just nước mắm or nước chấm. They have a good broken rice plate. I got to get it with a trứng ốp la or sunny side up egg.

I had an early lunch with a friend here. We were actually going to eat next door but there was a line, and no wait here so we decided to try it out. Their specialty is the broken rice plate. Decor is a very sleek, almost sterile diner vibe, which is unusual for a Vietnamese restaurant in this part of town. Parking for this strip mall can be tricky because it's popular. My friend got a broken rice plate with pork chop and pork skin. I tried the Hainan chicken and rice, choosing the thigh for my meat. The pork chop had good flavor, as did my rice, but I felt like both plates were a bit pricey for the portions and quality. Particularly my chicken thigh. I also prefer the Thai style peanut sauce for my chicken, and they offered a sweet chili sauce instead. I would probably skip this place next time I'm in the area based on this experience. There are tons of equally delicious options nearby, some with better prices.

Decent food but bad and rude customer service. The waiter forgot one of our order then blame us for not ordering it. Please train the staffs to be more respectful towards customers and write all orders down on th3 note pads instead of trying to remember everyone's order in their head.

This. Place. Is. The. Best!!! A must eat on my list, every time I am in Sacramento. I am addicted to their bbq beef broken rice combo: it comes with shrimp cake, ground pork Pattie, sugarcane stick fish cake and others. Huge portion, usually lasts me for two meals and the amazing kiss of charcoal grill flavor on the bbq meat (sooo good, drooling just writing about it). Go try it, you won't be disappointed.

We usually dine in and don't have a problem with the portions. The customer service is mediocre. Nothing stands out at this place except the overpriced entrees. My SIL had ordered to go for me the combination pork chop plate that was $20. The pork chop I received was the size of my 3 year old toddlers hands. It was absolutely ridiculous.

Used to come here often and never finish my plate.. but today I left hungry and angry! I asked if this was normal for the $17 plate as I didn't get the special since I don't care for the sugarcane shrimp. Was told it would be $5 for another piece of pork. Never going back. Plenty of other places that are cheaper and better quality.

I think there are better pho options you could go to on Stockton Blvd. Their prices for the bowls are a bit more expensive (total came out to be $30 something for a regular and large). The bowls here are also different as well. Instead of those standard round ones you usually see them in, these ones are narrower at the bottom and bigger at the top. They had just enough soup base to cover the ingredients so by the time I added the bean sprouts, the soup turned warmish.

When we are craving for grilled pork with rice, Thien Huong is always our #1 choice. Their meat quality is always consistent. Their fish sauce (pair with rice) is always the best in Sacramento. We always order sunny side up eggs to make the best combination with grilled pork and rice. Their service is friendly.

It's an ok restaurant, I didn't know this was a restaurant. The pho bowl was small and didn't have a motif meat and lacks flavor.

Awful attitude. Bad service. Prices are higher than the other Com Tam on Fruitridge. We will be going there from now on.

Not sure if anyone have the same experiences as me and my family. When Cơm tấm thiên hương just came to sacramento and started the business, i came and the foods was worth the price. It was a big meal with large amount of meat (sường nướng) plus other. I came back i even recommended friends, relatives to come, but then it started to change from large amount to smaller amount. Then i stopped coming often. Long story short, I just came 2 weeks ago because it was late and here is the place that is close by. I order the same Thing and it was still little like before, it had 2 pieces of grill porks (2 sường nướng) and other, but more disappointing is i came today because my brother and his wife wanted to eat rice and thought other places have closed already. Me and my bro Ordered and surprisingly the 2 grill meats turned to 1 grill meat even smaller (despite that i cut a Lil already)... and found out i forgot to take a picture so my bad...both (me and my bro) were asking wheres the other meat? Lmfao.... (SMH) anywayz the price went up and the foods are getting smaller its a ripoff

I have noticed Com Tien has egg rolls 2 for $6. Thought it was a bit expensive. Then walked next door nearby to Thanh Huong Ko Ba Sandwich. There egg rolls 1 for 0.60cents. Let me repeat that. 2 for 6 dollars versus 2 for $1.20! Du me! As a cheap Vietnamese Conor sewer. If it's cheaper, it's already taste better.

My go to rice plate spot! I love the combination plates with thit nuong and the fried shrimp in tofu skin. Another favorite is the com ga. Price point is higher than most spots but the quality is worth it.

I'm not cheap. However just didn't think the price for the food was worth it .We had 2 orders small combination beef pho and 2 rice plates #71 and #72 which is the charbroiled pork chop and charbroiled shredded pork. Total of $73+ Beef Pho combination was very bland. If you don't believe me try it for yourself. They also do not have hot oil or pickled jalepenos The Rice plates i will say its eatable however I will not say it's good, ok, or I'll be back for more. I also asked the waiter for hot oil and pickled jalepenos, idk if he forgot or just did not want to be up front and say they don't have it. I for sure won't be back. In all I won't be back overly priced and the food was bland, no pickled jalepenos or hot oil.

Saigon Oi was packed so I came here because I don't ever wait in line to pay for food! That's just ignorant to me! We ordered the egg roll for appetizer which was rolled in lumpia roll instead of rice paper! It's a no no in my book! We both ordered the pork chop dish #71 which was $18 but the pork chop was a joke. It was so small and thin tasted like a jerky. The rest of the items were mediocre but I wanted a pork chop which is very cheap!!!! I recommend the chef learns his food cost and price items satisfactory for their guest. The menu is way too big with all the same items! This must be new ownership because I don't remember it being so bad!

My friend recommended this place to us and it has now become one of my favorite places for the rice plates! The plate is definitely filling and flavorful. I highly recommend getting the fried shrimp cake with some sort of meat. I personally like #38 with the beef short ribs but you can opt to get pork as well or any other protein. I love how they give you a side of salad and cucumbers as well as a bowl of soup. Definitely helps to cleanse the palate.

Portion size is still the same... flavor taste okay, but I did not expect to see the waiter to be picking his nose. I wanted to give this place another chance but not anymore.

Instead of 4 stars I only gave 2 because my family and i went to this restaurant, we ordered the food to eat dine in ,and we also ordered to take out as well,but the food look different when we get home and found out.the meat they gave was less and very small 1 little piece, instead 2 pieces like the one we eat inside I think the owner is a greedy person and cheated on customers order take out, so I recommend everyone should check your order before leaving the place.BEWARE!!!

Welp, $20 for com tam. But definitely worth it! Wow, everything and I mean everything was delicious! Ordered two number 70. Took mom and she's very picky because she loves com tam and complains that most restaurants these days skimp on their plates and isn't authentic. (She's a 72 Vietnamese born woman so she's an expert) She was so pleased with this place because the only one that she likes is a place in Southern California. Now when she visits, I can take her here to enjoy a perfect plate of com tam! Service was very quick and the place was spacious. Noticed a lot of to go orders and I bet this place gets busy on the weekends. We're from out of town and in our towns, we can't find decent Vietnamese food, so we're very pleased to have discovered and try this place. Will definitely be back and highly recommend.

If I could, I gave them -5. Not only is the price high, the service is suck, but they also commit to cheating customers. They are very unethical. I never go back to this place again, and let them cheat on my hard-working money. When I ordered, I asked for an additional fish sauce for my rice. They did not tell me there was an extra charge of $2 For a little cup of sauce. It is ridiculously overcharged. When I paid, the crumpy guy did not give me the receipt. I had to ask for it and found out the charge. This place is very dishonest. also, they charged me 3% cc fee without telling me until I asked for the receipt. I don't like the business cheating on Customers. Everyone should be informed when they want to charge you outrageous fees. I urged customers to check the detailed receipt with this place. Don't let them cheat on your hard working money. For me, I never stop by again doesn't matter how good is the food. dishonest business should not have Business at least from me.

Ordered to go here in Sac and as a long time customer of their locations down in San Jose, this location doesn't quite compare however is still good if you're craving Com Tam! The parking lot at this general area is pretty easy going and has plenty of spaces as it's located in a plaza with many other restaurants and stores. I ordered my regular which is the Com Tam Suon Nuong. Taste-wise, it's similar as expected to its chains in San Jose. Plenty of good flavors from the pork well complimented with the rice, fish sauce, and sides. I would've however appreciated more meat or a larger serving; I noticed this is where the two locations seem to differ. I didn't have too much of a significant experience here regarding customer service since I ordered to go, but it does seem to be a hit or miss reading past reviews. I'd definitely say it'd still be worth a shot to visit (hopefully on a good day)!

The food is good however the people are very rude to the point that they have a poor customer service. In a restaurant, no matter how great the food is but if the service is bad then it will lose customers as they don't want to have a negative experience.

I am giving this restaurant a 3 because food was great but service not so great. I went in super excited because I'm new to the sac area and was craving Asian food. My husband and i walked into the restaurant and the first thing they did was look at my husband different like he wasn't welcomed. My husband is not Asian , he is black. Immediately as i was standing there to order , one of the guys was standing right over my husband like he was doing something wrong. He was just looking down at his phone the whole time. After i paid, told them I'll be back later to get it. Came back in their whole energy shift but this time my husband wasn't there. So it's obvious that they weren't welcoming to my husband. Food was great though just service they could definitely do better.

Okay, now I see why people come here! Every time I dined in at Saigon Oi next door, I wondered why so many people were always walking in to this restaurant. I get it now! Parking in this plaza in general is a hit or miss. There's too many businesses so you will have to gamble your chances of getting a parking spot. We usually park in the area behind Bambu since there's always parking available there. The ambience inside is like every typical Asian restaurant you see. We came right before the rush and were seated right away. Our order came our fast as well so it wasn't a bad wait. As far as the food, we ordered their rice plates (beef rib and bbq pork). Compared to other rice plates that we've had, this place isn't as overly seasoned. Their egg patty and shrimp cake are bomb! I love that it's lightly seasoned so you can dip or spread the vinaigrette on it without it being salty. The beef ribs and bbq pork were also seasoned very well - not super saucy. I like the charred taste which really brings out the bbq-ness. The shrimp on the sugar cane was good, but I wasn't a fan of the sugarcane. I thought it had a bamboo taste to it, which is weird. The juice inside was sweet though, but I couldn't bite the rest of the sugarcane since. Oh, the side of broth was super good! We haven't had a side broth that tasted this good!!! Sometimes, you get a broth that tastes like pho or chicken stock, but this broth had a wonton taste to it. I'm definitely trying their pho next time we come. I would definitely recommend coming here for if you're craving rice plates.

Been going to this restaurant for 6 years our favorite spot to go for lunch once a week for pho and rice plate is the best in town . Especially the pho broth has no MSG and lots of sodium . And plate dish is amazing too . Service is amazing and fast , restaurant always clean . I would highly recommend this restaurant , I wish they open up a second one in Elk Grove area

This is our go to spot when we want a broken rice Vietnamese plate. The portions are generous (in comparison to other places we've been to before). Though there is not as much meat as I'd like, the variety sure makes up for the lack thereof. Each rice plate comes with multiple items (see picture provided). Though the customer service isn't great, the food speaks for itself. Everything comes out hot and quickly. The rice is fluffy and warm. This was not our first time here and won't be our last. (No COVID restrictions, but the food is too good to quit).

They wipe down the tables with an old rancid rag that leaves a putrid odor lingering. plates have old dried up food and glasses are stained. Employees are rude and are always rushing the customers. Would not recommend

Wow overrated and over priced for portion size. Is there such a over charge if you pay with credit and different with cash?? Really . I won't ever be back i don't like their business practice just pay your taxes.

Their food is always delicious and great. However I noticed their prices are starting to climb. I'm sure it costs them more to source their food nowadays. I only gave them 4 stars due to price but their food and service gets 5 stars.

Too Legit to quit! This place is definitely a hitter for Com Tam. I love the food here and consistent. Ultimately, there's not much places that does this type of dish around. Our order arrived warm, but wished it was a bit hotter. I was not really happy with the portions I received, but given the market price for beef has heightened since COVID, I can understand why it's priced around $18. I don't usually go to this place, but when I do, I've always been content with their quality of food in the past. But not this time.

A friend recommended this place before the pandemic. Finally decided to check it out with two friends. We got two orders of the crispy pork spring rolls and as you can see, plenty to share. The regular pho was a big bowl full of hot broth, delicious aromas and flavorful beef and noodles. It was close to what I get with the street shops I've enjoyed in my travels to Vietnam. The service was fine and the place was clean. Definitely will be coming back.

I usually don't write reviews but this one needs to be addressed. I gave this place a 2 for the food, if I could I would make it a 2.5 star. Besides the food, the customer service lacked or was non existent. They spoke Vietnamese to my wife in telling us don't let our kids play with those sauce plates without saying please. So we kindly removed them from the table and place it on a different table. So we already touched the sauce plates and he left them there without taking them to the back to get washed in hence of germs or Covid. They didn't offer us a high chair for our little one who is 18months. When we did ask for the high chair, the gentleman decided to give a weird expression to my wife in which made my wife made but who still said thank you to him.

I would rate this place 3.5 really. The food is good quality and the fried shrimp cake (cha) is pretty dam good. The pricing is a little too high for Sacramento compared to SJ, but that's what I consider in my review. Service isn't the best either, you will have to ask for things sometimes get up yourself but nonetheless the food may be over priced (you can easily hit 15-18$ for a special rice plate with the extra add ons) but it is good quality food. Pho here was decent also, not any to die-for broth or I got to have it again tomorrow mindset. Go next door to bon mua for their rice plates.

Used to be my go to places for pho, bun thit nuong, & grilled shrimp/ Korean bbq. Quality & quantity went from 4 stars to 2. Too bad. No longer my go to.

New Vietnamese Rice Plate restaurant on Stockton blvd. I was curious and excited... there was a crowd of people waiting outside so it made me more curious on the HYPE. Inside was pretty modern... nice set up with booths on the side and tables in the middle area. It is not the largest restaurant but still good for groups. On the wall, it had the cool L.E.D. lights that change color! I ordered a Vietnamese iced coffee and it was average... not the best, but not the worst. I ordered the rice plate that had the fried chicken and I ordered a fried egg on the side. The Rice was excellent... was crispy and had crispy onions on the top. The Chicken had a great flavor but was SMALL.. the salad on the side was good... but I was still hungry afterwards and that is not a good thing. My lady had the rice plate that included pork, rice noodle, shrimp, salad, and an egg roll. It was good, but the portions were not as big as we big as other places we ate at. The prices are higher than other places... Would we come back..... NOT SURE... this place needs to step it up...

Service is the same as any other Asian place. But their food is good. It's more on the lighter side so you don't feel so full and nasty when you're done eating.

Finally, a Vietnamese restaurant in Little Saigon that delivers on all fronts! My wife and I came by for lunch and expectations were admittedly a little high after hearing great things from several Vietnamese friends. We opted for the nem nuong (one of the few places that serves it in Sacramento and isn't DIY) to start and a couple variations of pho using fresh noodles (on request). One spoonful was enough to tell me that the beef broth here is on point - flavorful enough to stand on its own yet balanced in weight and saltiness. My various cuts of rare steak, tendon and meatballs were all notable in terms of freshness and there was certainly no shortage of brotein...more than enough to accompany every bite from start to finish! As for that nem nuong, the rolls were derricious and the signature dipping sauce was just as good - very reminiscent of Brodard in Orange County. As expected, service was no frills, but I appreciated the efficiency and timeliness. Overall, the caliber here is easily comparable to that of San Jose's best and while the prices are higher on the whole...the food is still worth every penny. Can't wait to explore more of the menu next time!

I love anything rice! These rice plates are bomb dot com! I love the broken rice with meat and served with soup on the side (the way it should be). Most places don't do this anymore

Broken rice.. yumm.. I always get the combo plate with the spare ribs, shrimp patty wrapped in tofu skin, sugarcane, egg foo young, and shredded pork. I wish I had pictures to post, but I always eat it before I give taking a photo a second thought. This has become my go-to spot when I'm in the mood for a hearty rice plate.

They specialize in rice as noted by their name. Pretty new establishment and they did a nice job decorating. There are a lot of little booths which I think is a nice touch. I was the only one who ordered the pho. The highlight was their fresh noodles and their broth was pretty light. I ordered a regular and it was not that much food. I was hungry a couple hours later. Also I felt really thirsty. I can't really comment on their rice dishes but my friends enjoyed it. Comes with a small bowl of soup. They don't spilt the bill into individual orders as other Vietnamese places in the area. They can only split up to three credit cards.
