"This cozy restaurant is owned by the renowned chef Edgar Núñez. Here, the premise is traditional cuisine that draws on his childhood memories. The dishes are simple, but tasty, with excellent technique and abundant portions--all at a reasonable price. The menu has a botaneria section, with dishes based on corn, and another section with molcajetes, or dishes made in this traditional mortar from Mesoamerica, accompanied by guacamole and handmade tortillas. Some of the outstanding items include tostada de callo de hacha, tacos de tuétano, and huachinango zarandeado. Flan de cajeta is the perfect dessert." - Michelin Inspector

We were commended by a tour guide but unfortunately the dishes were a hit or miss. The crab quesadillas were good. The spinach and sweet potato salad wayyy too salty. The bone marrow sopes were so bland we were shocked and only ate the bone marrow. The chicken mole (recommended by our waiter) was also very bland - we forgot that black mole has chocolate and this sweet flavor combination was just off putting for us***. We had to polish off all the salsa and ask for additional hot sauce to make the meal edible. Would rather go back to somewhere cheap and authentic like La casa de Toño or non-Mexican places 😅

Google
Wonderful restaurant full of locals and very few tourists. The food was fresh and traditional Mexican cuisine. The service was excellent. The space and interior is low key, not upscale, but the food makes up for it.

A delicious impromptu lunch after a stroll in Lincoln Park. The food was delicious and rich. We had octopus Molecajetes and Bone Marrow tacos with flan for dessert. Wow!

Google
Definitely a great place for lunch in Polanco. The food was very tasty and creative, especially the tacos with bone marrow. Please note that the portion of the bone marrow tacos is for a minimum of 4 to 5 people - we enjoyed one but no more

Google
Nice place with good vibe but food is just OK. We where very surprised by Michelin recommendation. Waiter tried to sell more food than we ordered. He also added extra 15% tip to the bill without asking first about the tip amount. There are plenty of better restaurants without Michelin recommendation to choose from in Mexico City. We would definitely not go there again.

Google
Okay so, not fantastic but not bad either. My tuna tostada was tasty but could have used a few more pieces of tuna. Clean restroom. Nice neighborhood. Would return if in the area.

Google
Such a delicious brunch! Highly recommend the mushroom omelette and chilaquiles.

Google
Honestly. The food was good though we didnt eat much at 11 am. We went to get mezcal after a terrible experience with our rental car. The staff was so lovely. They educated us about their special mezcals and served them perfectly. The kitchen was so clean and organized we did have a bite, 4 days later after so many meals I don’t remember. I just remember it was delicious and the staff was so kind to us! Will try to go back this trip but definitely put On the list for next time!

Yelp
We stumbled upon this restaurant on New Years Eve after seeing many restaurants closed or only open for set menus. We heard good things as the chef here heads Sud 777 as well. This turned out to be the right choice as everything we had was delicious and we came back for lunch the next day! The atmosphere is lovely while still being casual enough for a quick dinner. The menu is set up with appetizers, corn-based plates, molcajetes, and entrees and everything is great for sharing. I'd recommend ordering tapas-style so you can try a bit of everything. Highlights include: - Bone marrow dishes: both the full roasted bone marrow and bone marrow sopes are fantastic with the marrow adding a nice richness - Ribeye molcajetes: ribeye slices on top of guacomole, this is the perfect sharing app - Beef tongue for tacos: another great app for sharing, the beef tongue was perfectly tender served with tortillas - Turkey soup: surprisingly a hit! Perfect for a chilly night and the soup was rich and super comforting Definitely would recommend Comedor Jacinta! It's right in the heart of Polanco and a great spot in Mexico City!

Yelp
As a Mexican, I appreciated this place: its concept, its service, the variety of its food without losing the Mexican touch, its prices, and the fact that I didn't speak English and they didn't treat me differently. Bonus: they welcome you with a courtesy chicken broth, accompanied by tostadas, cream, and homemade sauce. For lunch, I had "Ensalada de camote y espinacas," Chile Relleno (de fide seco) en salsa de frijol -a big flavorful surprise! I asked for hot salsa, and they brought me a delicious roasted habanero chile sauce. I also enjoyed "Jarrito Loco" (tequila, pineapple juice, coconut cream, passion fruit, and grapefruit soda). I highly recommend it!

Yelp
My sister found this place browsing for dinner spots for my bachelorette and when I saw the culinary experience this would be, I said we have to go. We made reservations for 9 and they took us right away. The interior of the restaurant is so cute and beautiful and the servers were very attentive. We started off by ordering drinks and they brought us housemade tostadas with salsas de San Luis Potosí and I freaking love that. All of their food is so authentic and unique, they have dishes you wouldn't even imagine have been created. The table got an assorted spread so we kind of just shared a bunch of bites. I think we ordered a little too much, but so worth it. A few of the dishes we tried were the gorditas (amazing) quesadillas de jaiba (amazing), tostadas de atún, the molcajete with beef and guacamole (amazing) filete de atún con jicama, sopa de chicharron prensada(amazing), tlayuda, un pescado en arroz (bomb) I would definitely come back. It is also in a location close to many other restaurants and bars!

Yelp
Come here for the entrees: the beef tongue and the suckling pig are terrific. Melt-on-your-tongue meats, wow. Both are unmissable. The other dishes we had were just okay (the scallop tostada was great; the tuna tostada not so much - overly salty, with a predominant flavor of cilantro; we didn't care for the oxtail Gorditas either - there was a strange funk to the meat; it didn't seem spoiled, but it didn't taste delicious). Service is friendly and helpful. It's a nice neighborhood restaurant experience overall - the space is indoor/outdoor, with good people-watching opportunities, if that's your thing.

Rino C.

Yelp
Totally local, great local, great food and ambiance, super fresh. Not a lot of English

Angel D.

Yelp
Cute place in a nice area. Poor, very slow service. food is not good. Burnt chips with the guacamole. The woman was upset that I only left 5% tip and showed her frustration by banging stuff around our table. Avoid this place so that it won't ruin your trip.

Eric D.

Yelp
Everything needs improvement. The food was tasteless and uninspired. The cocktails had no alcohol (and were expensive). All the food we ordered looked the same.

Yelp
Literally just wandered into this place after an afternoon of wandering around the city. Initially we were only going to have a snack and a beer. A couple of hours later we were stuffed and well watered. We started off with a couple of beers and a tuna tostada on a handmade tostada. My tostada was slightly extra toasted at the edges which left a wonderful smoky taste to each bite. My partner ordered the bone marrow sopes topped with escarole (ant eggs) which was so yummy! Next up was the Fideo Secco which was very interesting. Kind of a pasta with ancho crema y queso fresca, beef reduction and mushrooms. Delicious but a milder dish than expected. Next was the Chile pastilla, a tamale with sweet corn and crema. Crave worthy! The final dish for my partner was tacos de tuetano which was a surprise of four big, split bones containing marrow, corn, salsa molcajeteada y quelites. Served with tortillas to be consumed as tacos, I did not think he'd be able to put it away but he did. We had two more craft beers, a shot of tequila blanco followed with a spicy tomato based chaser. Totally drool worthy and if that wasn't enough, they surprised us with a little after snack of fried grasshoppers served with limes and anchiote salt. Super tasty and perfect with the tequila. Service was impeccable with friendly and helpful wait staff. I would highly recommend this little gem in Polanquito! Will be back for one last meal before I leave!

Yelp
Food was average, small servings. Not good value for money. Ambience and service were fine.

Yelp
Service was impeccable and the food was pretty wonderful. My spouse had the molcajete chicharonne de rib eye and he enjoyed it, but it was pretty acidic and a lot of food. I had the shrimp burritos and the tacos rellanos with seafood. The burrito was just ok, but the taco was amazing. Spicy, acidic, and well balanced. My kids enjoyed the order of the butter cracked cheese quesadilla. The best thing on the menu: jalapeño margaritas.
google avatar

Catherine Durkin R.

Yelp
Started off the meal with a jalapeño margarita - perfect - a kick to it but not overwhelming. Enjoyed chicken enchiladas with cilantro, queso, and sour cream. Super relaxing atmosphere and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I was looking for a place that would have good food and a cool relaxing ambiance. Well this is not it. I ordered the beef tongue which was very good, the sauce is a must but I have to say the side dishes (rice and beans) were not fully cooked. The service was not good, the waiters were not attentive at all. I sat outside to enjoy the sun and fresh air but instead got bombarded with people attempting to sell stuff and beggars :( Oh yeah, almost forgot, Polanco must be the "bring your dog out on a date" because everywhere you attempt to go eat there's a dog right next to you, im looking at 3 sitting right next to me right now :(

Yelp
We came here for a birthday party and loved the restaurant. It was beautifully decorated and got a great table overlooking the chefs. The menu was a little confusing for us Americans. The service was great and food was tasty the portions were small. We did order the chili rellenos and they were NOT Chile rellenos they were noodles shaped like a chili w maybe some chili in it. Very fancy menu where items aren't what they seem.

Yelp
Comedor Jacinta was a recommendation from a good friend of mine from CDMX. Short version of the story is that in a period of a week visiting the city I went there 4 times and took there with me 3 different groups. Everyone absolutely loved it (including some locals that couldn't believe they didn't know it). You can eat inside or outside and it is located in one of the nicer areas of Polanco. It's really difficult to list the best because everything is simply amazing. With that said I absolutely must name a couple: - lechon rostizado (suckling pig) - tacos de tuetano (bone marrow tacos) - molcajetes de molengas fritas - flan for dessert is a must Drink? You MUST try their Mezcal!!! Enjoy!!!

Margaret G.

Yelp
We have been big fans of chef Edgar Nuñez (Sud 777) for many years, and we wanted to taste what happens when his creativity is applied to Mexican classic home cooking. It was, as we expected, a treat. The cocktails had us taking notes on items to add to the home bar: tamarind, mezcal, agave nectar. The avocado with shrimp was probably our favorite dish. Large, best to split. The bone-marrow tacos were jaw-dropping huge must-split items. The rich marrow is tempered by slices of raw turnip and esquites (corn). The tuna al pastor was marinated and lightly seared, lovely. You need to finish it all up with a flan with caramel sauce.

Mario G.

Yelp
The service here is great and the food is outstanding. I had the tuna tostada and beef tongue. Both were excellent!

Yelp
I'm surprised the reviews for this place are not higher because my breakfast/lunch experience was fabulous, and much better than surrounding restaurants. I read here to get the crab empanadas/quesadillas and it was seriously delicious. The green jugo was also fantastic. I sat with my chair facing the street outside on a lovely February day, and had a fabulous meal. The waitstaff was awesome -- they actually dissuaded me from what would've turned out to be over-ordering (which nobody else in mexico has done), and actually fully fluent in English which was helpful when my Spanish started to stumble.

Yelp
Excelente restaurant!!! This restaurant was amazing! Carlos Roman was our server and he was outstanding! We received incredible service and his recommendations were perfect. The food was so unique and delicious. I believe the chef that night was Andrea and she is incredibly talented, mixing Mexican flavors with her own unique flair. We highly recommend this restaurant for the food, amazing service by Carlos Roman, and the best margaritas and tequila! 10+++

Yelp
Al pastor tuna. That's it. You won't regret it. The juiciest, umami eat tuna I have ever eaten. My body was not ready. Friendly staff. Amazing food. Great atmosphere. It's just a short walk from the park!
google avatar

Ram N.

Yelp
This place was recommended by a friend who has lived in Mexico City for a few years and is a foodie, but my experience wasn't good. The tostadas and salsa for the table were tasty, but the same tostadas they used for the tostadas de atun were stale. The tuna topping itself was good but served on stale tostadas. My jalapeño margarita was extremely watery; they did make it better when requested. And the crab quesadillas were not memorable. Given the prices at this restaurant, I expected far better.

Yelp

Yelp
Comedor Jacinta was a wonderful dining experience. The staff are incredibly attentive and kind and the food is great!

Yelp
Stay away. Total tourist trap. Looks cute, but the food is inedible. Barf! They also try to push food and drinks on you, which is my #1 pet peeve. The red flag started with the complimentary chips they brought. Stale as a rock. Next red flag, guacamole. Worse than pre packed grocery store guac. Barf! Then we tried the fish and shrimp tacos. The shrimp tacos came and it was almost a joke. They were these miniature baby shrimp with the head and tail Uncleaned and without dressing, or toppings. Fish tacos were pure fried breading topped with a couple pieces of cabbage. Just pathetic. We couldn't eat the food. Left. Don't come

Jody W.

Yelp
Dinner started strong with appetizers but the chicken mole was dry. Very attentive service and great location.

Yelp
Loved this place! It's super cute and aesthetic! Located in one of the nicest parts of town. The food is amazing! The chile relano was one of the best i've had. Their mole enchilada was also very tasty and good! The fish tacos were amazing as well! Overall quick service and really good food for the price!
google avatar

Yelp
Really loved the vibe, food and drinks here. Get the Chocolate margarita (frozen/blended) as a yummy dessert drink! The chile relleno wasn't following the normal recipe (there was no whole Chile, it had some shredded vegetable instead) but it was delish and I wanted to order a second helping. The chicken mole was also amazing.

Yelp
We went to this restaurant for lunch after walking our dog in the park. From the moment we sat down, we were treated to watermelon agua fresca and a sample of bean soup - so gracious! Then we ordered tamarindo margsritas, palmito ceviche and the tlayuda to share and it was delicious, so rich in flavor. The staff was so helpful in describing dishes we were curious about and also helped us from over ordering. The patio is dog friendly and in a lively area with lots of foot traffic, perfect for people watching.
google avatar

Julie S.

Yelp
Two different friends recommended this to us, and I absolutely loved it. From the wonderfully low lighting, to the wall of succulents and candles, the ambience was perfect. The word I would use for the service is "doting", with several servers helping us throughout the night. They really spoiled us once my husband starting conversing with everyone in Spanish (see the beautiful, complimentary flan in my pictures). We ordered the seafood ceviche, the Oaxacan tamal black mole, and few other sides. We both really enjoyed the food and the wonderful drinks, but what really stood out was the service and hospitality. I would absolutely come back here next time I'm in town.

Yelp
4.5 stars! A creative, fancy, yet casual restaurant in the trendy district of Polanco, Comedor Jacinta offers some extremely unique takes on Mexican flavors and dishes, and I was a huge fan of the food! Coming in for dinner to this restaurant with a lovely setting, we were seated right away and perused the diverse menu. We started our meal off with the avocado stuffed with shrimp salad, and this was certainly one of the highlight dishes. The two hefty avocado halves were stuffed with perfectly marinated shrimp salad, and the combination of creamy and sweet/acidic flavors was simply to die for! The hearts of palm ceviche was an extremely unique dish containing only hearts of palm in a creamy marinade that was meant to replicate ceviche, but I found this only average and wouldn't order it again. We also had the pork fillet with mole verde, a thin, pounded slice of sweet and savory marinated pork, served with rice and beans. But my favorite dish of the night was definitely the cricket molcajetes. That's right--this was a mixture of guacamole, chile verde, and fried crickets in a stone pot, and you could scoop this mixture into corn tortillas to make the perfect tacos. The creaminess of the guacamole and the tang of the salsa complemented the crunch of the crickets so nicely, and the fried insects were reminiscent of soft shell crab! Finally, we had the "salsa verde" crab quesadillas, a unique quesadilla filled with shredded crab and cheese--the combination worked surprisingly well together, as the saltiness of the cheese complemented the sweetness of the crab so nicely! Overall, this was a fantastic place to come for unique dishes that are inspired by Mexican cooking. I'd definitely return to try out more of their unique, creative, diverse menu offerings at very reasonable prices!

Yelp
Pretty close to five stars! Very cute and quaint spot in Polanco. The service was quick and the staff was really great and helpful. We focused on eating several small dishes beginning with a botana that consisted of frijol with cecina on a tostada which was very tasty. We also ordered some shrimp in aguachile and red sauce. This wasn't my favorite but my partner really enjoyed the dish. Personally, two of the highlights were the heart of palms ceviche and the sopa de hongos. The heart of palm ceviche was so creamy and so refreshing - would definitely order again! The sopa de hongos was also amazing - the mushrooms were on point and the brocolini added a great taste and flavor to the mix. As for the desserts, these were not my favorite. We ordered the tarta de mamey and the passion fruit mousse which was a special of the day. While my partner definitely enjoyed the tarta de Mamey it ended up being a bit too heavy for me and the mousse didn't have the best consistency and it could have had more of a passion fruit taste. Overall, our experience was great and I'd definitely come back!

Yelp
We were visiting Mexico City and I had read about this restaurant. We came on this trip for a culinary experience and we both sadly enough eat out way too much and have become "foodies". For food we ordered the Octopus Carpaccio, tuna tostados, progreso ceviche and the bone marrow tacos. Hands down we were blown away with the ceviche and tacos. Service-wise this was the best place we had eaten at. The attentiveness of the staff was outstanding. If you go, ask for Christian or Rene. They were both our waiters Christian knows his way well around the food menu and Rene is your drink expert. We honestly had a blast and the staff and food was excellent!
google avatar

Sylvain K.

Yelp
We went there with my spouse and considering how much we've been told on how good is the food in Mexico City, we had high expectations. The place is nice and cozy, not too loud and we were promptly welcome by the staff. One of the waiters speaks English, that was a plus for us as we don't speak Spanish. The service was good and friendly all along. The big disappointment for us came from the food. It was just OK. We got 3 dishes. The smoked asparagus, the bone marrow enchiladas and the crickets guacamole. With 2 drinks. We ended up at $800. It was OK, would not go back.
google avatar

Charlie B.

Yelp
Very disappointed that they treated us like tourists pointing only to the most expensive things on the menu. The flan was really good and so was the passion fruit and ginger margarita. The food was bland and not particularly noteworthy. I'd recommend you go somewhere else if you are in Polanco and want a nice dinner.
google avatar

Brie S.

Yelp
The service is great. All the servers were so nice. We've gone twice during our stay in Polanco so far & will definitely go again.. The avocado stuffed with shrimp appetizer is so fresh and delicious. My husband got another shrimp appetizer that was amazing but on the rich creamy side. I enjoyed the chicken with mole and lamb with mole but the stuffed avocado was what made me want to return. And the service. My son loved the steak (we requested the mole on the side in case he didn't like it) and guacamole. I like that I can order steak or chicken with the sauces on the side and he can just make little tacos if he wants. So the place is pretty kid friendly. We also had an interesting tart for desert that was made with a native fruit (can't remember the name, but it looks like a papaya with an avocado texture. It was so delicious and not sweet at all which I prefer deserts that aren't overpowered by sugar.) Atmosphere: The restaurant has nice, cool, casual decor with great amber glass vintage looking sconces. We sat on the patio and people watched. Nice but not dressy. Went back and had the Hearts of Palm ceviche which was amazing!
google avatar

Farhan M.

Yelp
Had a wonderful meal of avocado stuffed with shrimp salad and an incredibly spicy sea scallops dish which was both delicious and painful. Finished the experience off with caramel flan.

Allison J.

Yelp
Incredible food and incredible service. The negative reviewers were clearly looking for some type of "americanized" Mexican food. This was authentic and on point. Loved the atmosphere as well.
google avatar

Joyce L.

Yelp
Thanks to the lead of Eater's current 38 essential restaurants in Mexico City and the high ratings in yelp. Service was excellent, reasonably priced and the food was very good....and we had a lot of food tonight. We tried their very tender lengua (appetizer), local mushroom soup cooked with huanzontle, tender beef steak with a flavorful pasilla sauce and cajetas flan covered with cojita cheese. Yum!!! Highly recommended!
google avatar

Dani D.

Yelp
I would probably be giving them 4 stars, if I had not eaten here between going to Pujol and Dulce Patria. But compared to those two restaurants the service just isn't as good. Food: 4 stars. The food is very good here, it's just not amazing. We had the pork loin in green mole, chicken in black mole, and the huachinango zarandeado (grilled fish with a bunch of spices). All of the dishes were good but I thought the fish was the best. Service: 3 stars. The service was attentive in the beginning of the dinner but then waned after our entrees were dropped off. After waiting for 20 minutes after our plates had been cleared, we had to ask for the dessert menu. I had mentioned in the reservations that it was my mother's birthday. But we had to remind them prior to our dessert order being placed to put a message on her dessert. Compared to the excellent birthday dinner service I got at Dulce Patria, it's just not up to par. For a regular weekend dinner, I think the service is fine, but for special occasions I'd go to one of the other restaurants.

Yelp
Beautiful space, great service, super tasty food, best margaritas. The mushroom soup and the fideo seco are a must!
google avatar

Dan Q.

Yelp
Great food, but slow service. Mushroom soup with quelite was great as well as the northern style molcajete. Wasn't a huge fan of the oxtail gorditas though
google avatar

T S.

Yelp
This was our second visit. The service was great and we liked the food. The ensalada de verdolaga was really fresh and the tlayuda was tasty. The ceviche was a bit too salty, but I enjoyed the flavor of soy sauce.

Yelp
I was scrambling to make reservations for lunch for 6 people after a glitch in the Open Table website left me hanging. I found Comedor Jacinta and after an amazing experience there, I find the glitch to be a blessing in disguise. The first impression of the restaurant is the openness and soothing cool colors. Everything was a mix of blue and green. We were immediately seated and had 2-3 waiters attend to us. Of course, with a bit of a language barrier and our indecisiveness at the menu, our knight in shining armor popped up - the chef and owner, Mr. Edgar Nunez. We had 3 vegetarians and 3 non-vegetarians and he beautifully explained his creations and recommendations. For the vegetarians, he recommended the roasted asparagus, chile pasilla and tamal black mole. Out of those dishes, I only tried the asparagus which was cooked perfectly with a nice cream sauce and Parmesan. Amongst all of us, we also shared the fried egg which was a fun dish. The fries had a sunny side egg and even after breaking the yolk, the fries maintained their crunchiness for awhile. They had tostadas for the table to munch on and it was different than most tostadas I've had. It has more of a thicker crunchy taste which was a huge hit amongst us. For the carnivores, we chose the salsa verde crab quesadilla, Acapulco seafood ceviche style, avocado stuffed with shrimp salad and sea scallops (as per Mr. Nunez' suggestion). Let me start out with saying that I am not a huge seafood fan but by the end of the meal, I was craving more. My favorite was the avocado stuffed with shrimp salad. The amount of freshness in both the produce as well as the seafood was unrivaled. I had scallops for the first time and I loved it! My friends who have had scallops before even said this was one of the bests. The drinks were also very refreshing. I got the Nolet Berry which was more like a tasty berry smoothie. Super refreshing, didn't leave you with a gross boozy taste. My friend got the cucumber margarita for one of her drinks and I had to give a special mention for this as I don't even like margaritas and it had me in a limbo to order as my 2nd drink. Overall, a fantastic restaurant where the freshness of local Mexican produce and meat is very apparent in every dish. I would definitely come back here again and would recommend it to everyone!
google avatar

Victor O.

Yelp
Decent food, bad service tonight. I feel like we just had bad luck with our server. He was gone for long periods of time, forgot our orders, and made it all sound like it was our fault. After we gave him a low tip we received a lot of passive aggressiveness. Too bad - would've been a good experience otherwise.
google avatar

Michaël S.

Yelp
The food was great and the service very good. Definitely recommend this place. I had the Ceviche mixto which I definitely recommend. I also ordered the Atún al pastor, which I liked very much. To end this great meal, I had the Flan al cajete, a perfect way to end my meal.

Yelp
really good food here! loved the bone marrow dish, very tasty! the soups here are great too, especially the mushroom one

Sebastien B.

Yelp
Located in Polanco, the very upscale part of Mexico City, this restaurant offers good quality food that will likely please your taste buds. We tried the tasting menu which comes with 3 dishes and a dessert. Everything was very good but it was too much food. I would recommend to just have one appetizer and one main dish with one dessert if you still have room for it.
google avatar

Aldo M.

Yelp
We went for dinner. Service is friendly and the location in Polanco excellent. We liked the tacos de pescado and tacos de camarones. But the tacos de lechón were absolutely impassable. The pork pieces had large chunks of slimy lard. We got 10 tacos and had to leave most of it untouched. This is the only time I can remember not being able to eat the food at a restaurant in Mexico City.

Yelp
Great place, great vibes, good food and drinks. The service is really good. Went there on a Friday evening had one of my favorite drinks ever. Tamarindo margarita. Is a must try drink there.

Yelp
This is by far a great place to eat. The food was delicious, and customer service was amazing. We had a great waiter. Ask for Christian as his recommendations were spot on. We'd come back in a heart beat!

Yelp
A huge surprise! We did not know what to expect in the Mole was some of the best ever. Highly recommended
