The 27 Best Restaurants in Huatulco, Oaxaca | Eater

"Just outside the International Airport of Huatulco sits this family-run restaurant specializing in typical specialties of the state of Guerrero and the Costa Chica, where the family Santos Quiroz have their roots. The green pozole here is the best in the area (available Sundays from 11 a.m. till it’s sold out), as are the ribs, which come in a variety of presentations including encacahuatadas, entomatadas, en mole, en adobo, en amarillo, en salsa verde, en salsa de chile de arbol, and en salsa de chile morita. These, plus seafood dishes like shrimp in salsa and caldo de pescado, are not to be missed. [$-$$]" - Tirza Bonifazi

This is hidden gem with great food, many vegetarian options and a fairly large selection of dishes. Their prices are very low, even by Mexican standards. They have mostly outdoor seating and a lively environment. The servers are very friendly and despite our obvious language and cultural differences we were able to communicate and get exactly what we needed. The restaurant is located in Santa María Huatulco in the southern Mexican state of Oaxaca. It’s known for sprawling pre-Hispanic ruins. Nearby on the Pacific coast is Huatulco National Park, with beaches, coral reefs and diverse wildlife.

Honestly the first meal we had in Oaxaca this time and one of the best. Just drive out the airport and it is right there. Friendly staff and great prices and the mixed meat platter is absolutely delicious as are the tlayudas!

Located right near the airport, we wanted something quick before boarding our afternoon flight. We were pleasantly surprised. Clean outdoor restaurant, good service, and excellent food. The food just really had good taste. The bathrooms were clean. You could the owners take pride in their property. They even created parking spots out in front. If you have the opportunity, be sure to check it out.

Absolutely delicious and wonderful service. We had chicken in a green sauce that was the special of the day, along with two drinks. The chile verde sauce they gave us with the meal was also sooo good. Also we came to eat here 2 hours before our international flight and it was plenty of time - we ate within 10 minutes of ordering and then walked to the airport, about 8 minutes walk away. If you’re in a rush, ask them what meals of the day are already prepared and you’ll eat quickly. I believe they also do takeaway

Wonderful place!! My food was absolutely delicious and came with super yummy handmade tortillas and salsas. The ambience was inviting and comfy - colorful, cool, shady with a breeze, and chipper fun music. The staff were all very kind and attentive. They welcomed us to stay and rest in their comfy chairs and hammocks while we waited for our delayed flight. 100% recommended!!

Best homemade food, you can’t go wrong with this location. The only thing wrong is that if you eat here first, you will not to be able to enjoy the food in any other location because you will be comparing the food to this spot. We had pork ribs in homemade chilly sauce ( not spicy ) and beef milanesa ( beef Milanese) both served with homemade corn tortillas and 2 cold cokes. (190 pesos ). You must stop by this location after leaving the airport.

It is always a bit annoying to realize that your flight is being delayed but today I am enjoying the extra time in Huatulco. We just randomly walked five minutes from the airport to this restaurant on the side of the road. The food was delicious!!! Truly! Freshly made tortillas by the abuela. We had a great dish with pork ribs, rice, yummy beans, a bit of local cheese, and incredible salsa. Being sitting in the shade and natural breeze was quite refreshing on this very hot day. We had a drink and a dish for half the price of a hotdog at the airport. I would totally recommend this place and almost wish my flight would be delayed again next time I am at Huatulco airport!
