(Edit: I had a chance to speak with Alex Kaplan, Head of Product at Cometeer. He assured me that Cometeer would be taking steps to provide more transparency around subscriptions, send reminder emails for upcoming shipments, and continue to evaluate shipping partners to balance speed and quality. I'm cautiously optimistic and look forward to seeing these changes implemented).
After being a subscriber for over 3 years, I have unfortunately cancelled my subscription. As a local MA business with a great product, I have wanted to support Cometeer and see it grow. However, their abysmal website design and shady subscription practices have made this impossible.
As time has gone on, the quality of their delivery service has gone downhill. For two years, things were perfect. This past year, I have had packages misdelivered, arrive melted, and missing coffee.
Cometeer will not inform you of an impending delivery until it is too late to reschedule and their website is frustrating to navigate. Combine this with the James Hoffmann discovery box concealing a hidden $80 subscription, and it is the final straw.
I believe in Cometeer’s product. It is a shame they feel the need to skimp on bottom barrel delivery services and deceptive practices to squeeze more money out of their customer base.
