I had low expectations when I visited this restaurant, but I left pleasantly surprised and satisfied. Our group opted for the la table d’hote, and I must say I wasn't disappointed. To start, I ordered the du chaudron and went for the bisque d’homard, even though I'm not a big seafood fan. To my surprise, it was amazing. The choice of entrées was delightful; I had the Fondants de fromage de l'abbaye St-Benoit. While the plate presentation wasn't impressive, the flavors were surprisingly good, especially the salad with its delicious sweet sauce.
For my main course, I chose the Bavette de bœuf grillée with sauce au bleu. I loved the sauce, and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the beef. This place definitely knows how to cook meat. I rounded off my meal with the pouding chômeur, which brought back childhood memories and was equally delightful.
The only downside was the service. Our glasses remained empty, and no one checked on our basic needs. Nevertheless, I wholeheartedly recommend this restaurant based on the delicious food and byob.
