"Simply put, this is my favourite bakery in Tokyo, where I go shopping for things to eat at home with my family; since everything here is absolutely delicious, I just choose from whatever is still available. Located just outside the exit of Kuhonbutsu Station on the Tokyu Oimachi Line, this local Setagaya spot has a stylish interior where you can look across the kitchen at skilled artisans kneading dough, and it showcases a diverse range from French standards like baguettes and noix raisin to Japanese favourites like cream pan and melon pan. I like their Danish pastries, the pain au chocolat is my son’s standard breakfast, and the campagne is delicious when cut thinly and topped with butter and plenty of jam; getting recommendations from the staff and searching for a new favourite is part of the fun." - Wakana Kubo

I had a cinnamon roll and a cream bread(I never saw such a bread before so I bought it). I liked both of them. First of all, they are not crazy sweet. And I can tell that they use good ingredients for the custard cream. It just tastes so good. What’s more interesting is that they put sweet potatoes in the cream bread, really creative! A bit expensive than normal bakeries, but it’s worth the money. Thank you for making good bread!

The bakery is located a bit far from the train station. There were many variety of breads which were good but not mind blowing. Worth a visit if you like bread but can skip as there are so many good cake shops in jiyugaoka

This little gluten free bakery was so cute with amazing friendly English speaking staff. Everything was gluten free and very high quality and SUPER tasty 🤤🤤🤤🤤 You can't eat inside because they are not having any tables but take away was also nice 🙂 I highly recommend this place for all! ☺️ The gluten free bakery is on the other side of the road of this bakery. They are having two bakeries, one for non gluten free and one for gluten free only, so no cross contamination ☺️ I included pictures from both of the bakeries.

Quite underwhelming, their Pain au Chocolat was burned, dried, and really bad. However, their Double Chocolat “ball” was quite good. Honestly, I find it really hit and miss there, and despite their look, bread is not something they seem to really understand, at least from a French citizen’s point of view like mine. There are way better bakeries around Jiyugaoka.

The croissant is crispy on the outside, buttery and fluffy on the inside. It tastes as good as it looks! I tried this bakery since it was nearby and the croissant reviews were good. There is no dining area so I ate at the park. Other customers were also doing the same. Bought baguette to bring home. I usually only buy croissants and bread at bakeries. Judging from the quality of the croissant, my expectations for the baguette is high. There are also different kinds of baguette, the staff will explain the difference in the kind of ingredients and texture. As I could see there is no English menu, but even if you can't speak Japanese, I hope you will try it cause it's really good! IC card, LINE pay 🆗

The bread is good, albeit expensive. I've had better bread at other bakeries before, though. So it's not THAT special. Pain au chocolat was mediocre. Croissant was great. Sandwiches were decent. The worst thing about the place is that generally, the atmosphere is excellent, BUT the staff keep SCREAMING ALL THE TIME.... it's supposed to be a nice, relaxed sort of space, but the staff just destroys that immersion. That's very sad. I hope they can improve on that.

I came across this bakery while walking in the not so famous Kohumbotsu neighborhood, which is around a couple of miles from Jiyugaoka station and relatively more popular. This a nice little bakery that seems to be very popular with the locals. Mostly I visited this over the weekends and found it to be always busy with the locals stopping by. This is a take away place with no place to sit inside. They have many options to choose from and I found their bread to be reasonably good. They also have a separate gluten free bakery across the road from the main one. Their staff is super nice and were helpful in explaining the ingredients as I have specific allergies. I would highly recommend to try this place.

A hip bakery in a high end neighborhood. Reportedly owned by a Japanese master who won a baking championship in France. Tried a few different kinds and loved them all . Wish I had more than one stomach.
