John Tesar Opens Knife Italian and Can’t Get Over His Past | Eater Dallas

"A now-defunct burger restaurant started by the chef that followed a turbulent period in his career; it is referenced as one of his less successful ventures amid personal and professional challenges." - Courtney E. Smith

(9/30/26 - Edited for spelling and grammatical errors) DAFB commissary serves a fairly large active and retired military community in both Delaware and nearby areas of Maryland, so it is generally well stocked. My one major complaint has to do with the produce section which is probably one of the poorest I have ever seen both in selection and quality. Even though places like Sam's Club, Walmart, Aldi, or Food Lion offer a wider variety and fairly competitive pricing on many products the savings on things like meat and cereals cannot be beat. The store is always spotlessly clean and everyone from the shelf stockers to the cashiers to the baggers is friendly, helpful and polite. All in all, for a small to medium commissary it's good; just need to work on that produce section!

For a military installation that makes Billions from contractors and has 20,000 workers come on and off post daily... this place is pitiful except for meat. They have been without milk now for 7 days and hardly ever have bread. Saying you switched distributors tells me somebody did not plan. Also the surcharge on goods "to keep the store nice" is way to much and just as expensive as anywhere of post. It is a struggle bus now.

The commissary is great! Very clean and loaded with everything you need. They have great meat deals in packages.

Excellent supply of all the Thanksgiving meal fixings. Fresh and frozen turkeys.lots of fresh vegetables and fruit. Prices are unbeatable. Store is organized ,clean. Check out has plenty of friendly staff so no waiting in line at the register.

Why are the shelves so bare at this commissary? The only good part of this commissary is the meat selection. Produce is insanely empty all the time.

I recently visited the APG Commissary after my last visit over 15 years ago. Not much has changed, not a large commissary but has the essentials. The produce is average with limited quantity. I have done shopping for many years and always like to get the best products for the best price. You can still get some good deals, but Aldi, Lidl, Walmart and Sam's Club can beat the commissary prices on some items. If you are selective, you can save some money. Commissary personnel were very helpful when I visited.

1st time going to the commissary in probably about 10 years. The selection is very nice and the prices are reasonable. The gentleman at the checkout was super accommodating and helped us very much. We will definitely come back on another day when we have more time to shop but so far what we've seen is very nice.

Better prices on most things than you can find around town. The workers are awesome! Produce quality is hit or miss, we end up going to Shop Rite for produce rather often. If you drink soda, it’s commonly cheaper at Walmart. Most everything else, we get at the commissary.
