Excellent specialty coffee shop. Well designed space. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Excellent offerings and bean selection. The two Colombian offerings pictured here were extremely aromatic with very forward fruity notes. I thoroughly enjoyed them. I highly recommend this establishment for single origin connoisseurs.

This is a hidden gem, off the main streets, but that give you options to oak which are scarce in long beach. Clean professional, roomy, and the smell of roasting coffee. Im so glad I found it. I avoid the bug chains because the treated me so badly during covid.

First off I bought a latte for there and then even bought one to go! That says alot. They recommended an off the menu pumpkin spice mocha and it was devine! Absolutely delicious, worth the $7. They really need a fall menu. Great service the baristas were so nice! Got the avocado toast also so good, fresh, haven't had anything like that before. Only thing comes with a side of like chili oil that was super salty and dry. Bathrooms nice and clean. Inside seating is kind of weird. Lots of outside seat and street parking.

Everything about this place is awesome, definitely worth the extra couple of dollars compared to other spots. The downside and reason I wont be returning is because they are cashless and I cant support a company that partakes in financial exclusion / digital discrimination. I get it that it may be easier and safer as a business to do so, but it excludes a portion of our population and simply does not offer the choice to others if they do not wish to leave a digital trail or have their transactional privacy limited. Again, baristas, atmosphere, and coffee are amazing and this spot has plenty of parking around. If cashless businesses do not bother you definitely check them out, but highly suggest you look into how this decision negatively impacts our community.

Super chill and relaxed atmosphere. The staff is very knowledgeable on their coffee and helped me with my indecisiveness. I got an Americano with cold foam and it was exactly what I wanted. Out of all the coffee shops in LB, I highly recommend this spot to visit if you're passionate about coffee. Even if you're not, it's still a great place to do some work or meet up.

Awesome coffee shop roasters. I get their pour overs and cortado. As for the interior, limited seating but outside there's tables around. They do monthly record events from the community. The staff are friendly and knows the beans!

Phenomenal kindness and patience by Ava, one of the baristas whom I encountered there today. I came in to buy coffee beans, since one of my favorite shops in Tustin uses Common Room Roasters coffee beans. Ava was busy making drinks, but she was incredibly helpful and patient when I had asked about recommendations for coffee beans. She was thorough and took time explaining the different blends and single origin beans the shop had. The shop is clean, airy, and filled with lots of natural lights and has plants! Parking was also easy to find. I also ordered a hot vanilla latte, which can be pricey, since the shop charges extra for alternative milk, and also for syrup. I thought the drink was only okay, but I feel it's because it's always tricky getting that perfected espresso down with the right amount of vanilla, since that is always my go-to. A perfect vanilla latte. The vanilla latte I had here had a slight acidic taste to it, which left a tart aftertaste for me. This was my first time here, so I would definitely come back to try the drinks again.

They serve one of the best Mochas, thats why I want to go there all the time. But their music is now far too loud for a cosy coffeeshop environment. And when sitting outside the last three times I had to leave because customers were sitting in their cars with the engine on, blowing the exhaust right at you. If one says something about the exhaust, they just start revving the engine more. So inside its too loud and outside its not pleasant either. But again their Mocha is the best, so I will keep going there.

The coffee here at common room was really good. The latte was well-made and delicious, super smooth. The avocado toast was also a decent portion size and had lots of veggies, and came with a little pile of salt/red pepper flakes for you to add your own. The cafe itself was really clean, and kinda gave art gallery vibes in the sense that it felt really empty with a few things on display? Overall, good coffee but not like a cozy Sunday morning brunch feeling.

I was a bit disappointed after seeing so many 5 star reviews. Just personal preference I guess but we got two iced lattes with cold foam and weren't extremely impressed. The cold foam was VERY thick which was unexpected. It also tasted salty? We even double checked they didn't accidentally give us the seasonal salted maple foam or whatever they had. The actual latte also wasn't spectacular but again, I guess personal preference. The girls at the front were nice though! And the inside of the shop is STUNNING. It's classy minimalist vibes.

The iced chai here tastes like a churro dipped in horchata, pure magic in a cup! You can really taste the cinnamon and chai, perfectly balanced. The vibe is cozy and inviting, and the location is super convenient. The restroom feels like a spa (yes, really!), and the plants inside the café are gorgeous, they seriously call your name. It's spacious, peaceful, and they even sell some cute merch. I'll definitely be back!

I love coming here. I'm usually here every 1st Saturday because of the Beans and Beats event that is put on by my friends... you can hear great music by awesome DJs and get some really great coffee or teas along with some yummy food. I'm a fan of their quiche and their Prana Chai tea latte DELISH!!! If your into vinyl records there is an opportunity to purchase 45s and full records. The service is great too they explain it may take time to make your beverage or to make your food which I appreciate. They call out your name so make sure you're listening

Common room is always solid! The ambience it amazing with plants all around, there's decent seating, and it's tucked in a neighborhood away from the main street. There is even parking since there is a park across the street. It's perfect for studying or meeting up with a friend. If you love coffee this is the place for you!

Right off the bat, the ladies who work here were so friendly!! I got the perfect drink recommendation to match what I was feeling today- the salted caramel latte! I had a really productive work sesh and was jamming out to the music they were playing too! Super good vibes and I'll definitely be back!

Common Room Roasters is a nice coffee shop located next to the park. I went on Saturday around 11 AM. There was plenty of street parking right across at the park. For the order, I got the iced vanilla latte with three shots of espresso. I thought the drink was decent. It was not too sweet. For seating, there was a lot of indoor seating and a few options outside. While there were lots of spots inside, the seating didn't felt that comfortable. Some of the table height was low and the chair didn't have back support. The seating outside had better support, but you'll be sitting right on the sidewalk. Overall, the coffee was good and the vibe was great. This is a great coffee spot if you're in the area.

This is my favorite place to get avocado toast and I've gotten it about 15 times and never once has it been consistent. Sometimes I'll get salad on the side sometimes I won't sometimes it'll be just oil sometimes it'll have lemon on it. It just is very inconsistent and the avocado toast is supposed to be mashed and sometimes it'll come cubed without the feta. I don't know if it's because people are just being lazy when they make it or if they haven't been trained correctly on how to make the avocado toast. hate writing a bad review on this coffee shop because I love it so much and I keep going back because I have hope that one day I'll get a good avocado toast like I used to . It seems like this is one of your guys's best sellers so consistency in a coffee shop is extremely important. Probably the most important thing to adhere to in a coffee shop. It also cost $15 so getting an avocado toast that I paid for but isn't what I got is frustrating and disappointing but like I said, especially if it's been over 10 times and 170$, I'm not the type of person to send it back every single time because it's not right or else that would be everytime i went to the shop. I have hope and I hope that you guys figure out some consistency. You guys are great, and I have a lot of hope for you I would take some advice from Good time coffee shop because their products are extremely consistent despite the fact that they have an enormous amount of employee employees.

Love coming here, and we ended up coming here by chance when one of my partners favorite coffee shops was way to crowded. Since think this has turned into one of our favorites because it's pretty low-key and It's a good all around coffee shop. The drinks are really good, pastries are tasty and the vibe is just right for relaxing with friends or working. They are also dog friendly if you want to bring your fur child with you. Would I come back here? Most definitely and you should check it out as well. It's not your basic cookie cutter Starbucks.

This is the best cappuccino I've ever had and I've had a lot of cappuccinos. They roast coffee right here onsite. Cute little park across the street. Plenty of parking. I tried doing some writing here but the bar stools are too short for the tables that they have so it's not a comfortable place to work work from.

I love this little coffee shop! First off there is parking! The inside is very cool- I love the vibe! I usually sit outside and love that it is a quiet street that overlooks the park! Last time I had an iced latte and it was yummy! The avocado toast was also delicious! The barista that served me made great suggestions and was from friendly!

Speciality coffee shops are hard to come by and I'm not even sure what that means but it reminds me of the Barcelona coffee speciality coffee shops. Light filled, lots of plants, glass cups, high tops tables for laptops or groups and small tables for chilling. They have a small fridge with juice and sparkling water as well. The priced aren't bad! Love the concept and right next door to a park! If you go to the restroom, you can see their roasting room in the back.

I've finally found some time to give this place a proper review and I'm happy to report this place provides a consistent, smooth, damn good cappuccino. I have been on the hunt for one near me, and this place provides. Sure, there is a popular chain and other LB coffee haunt across the street from me, but I will go out of my way for this one. 5/5 stars. PARKING: plenty in the park across the street and a green curb right outside their shop.

First time ordering coffee beans to be delivered from this place. Delivery was prompt. Had question about one of their coffees and got a quick response. I ordered 2 types of beans and am really enjoying the Ethiopian Ardi. Will be ordering more coffee from them.

Love their coffee and services. The area is nice too. There are many good Vietnamese and Cambodian foods around.

Cream top is lovely, folks behind the counter super nice. You'll see in other reviews the music is too loud and the chairs uncomfortable, and they're not wrong, so not hanging out necessarily but nice park to walk through right across the street. Perpendicular parking spaces too.

This place is so open. I love the coffee roasting smell in here. I love all the little pothos cutting and brown sugar container everywhere. There is 2 tiny wooden tables to sit at and 4 counter space to work at. There are 2 outlets. There is some tiny outdoor seating. There is street parking and the community parking. There is wifi here and great for taking work zoom calls. It is a little chilly so bring a jacket. The barista was super nice in recommendations drinks. I tried the prana chai latte which it was so cinnamonny and creamy. I would say this was one of my top chai lattes I have tried. I would recommend coming here. I just wish they didn't close so early

Finally got over to try this coffee shop. Coffee was excellent, servers were very friendly and shop is really cute. We ordered a couple of pastries from Nonna Mercato to go with our coffee. The only negative is only one size of coffee. I bought coffee from retail store and whole order was tipped on. My bad - but Merry Christmas to the girls who got a big tip today. : )

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cool neighborhood roastery and cafe. Came here to meet up with some friends and thought it was very nice. The barista was very nice, and I got a flat white, which was delicious, and reasonably priced for the quality. Their furniture inside is kind of ridiculously low and small, however. I'm not a big person and felt the chairs were really small. Their outdoor furniture was normal-sized, though. There was also a conference room-like place in the back, and apparently they do tours of their coffee roasting facilities. Would definitely hit them up again if I happen to be in the area.

Will be coming back for the quiche. 10/10. Prana chai latte was more watery/less sweet than what I am used to but it did have a good chai flavor still. Service was relatively fast. Inside was clean and had a nice industrial ambiance.

These are connoisseurs who love the process of intricate details of their craft of making coffee (something I didn't even know existed) It was cool to see the whole set up in the back (it looked like a brewery where you see the vats and how they make it) and I got a mocha...and heard where the bean came from...etc Wow Delicious Cool concept Premium

I've seen those little black bags of beans in many coffee shops and was glad to see that they have their own cafe in Long Beach. Took the drive to visit and so glad I did. There's street parking and park parking across the street and restrooms are available and are clean. Common Room Roasters' ambiance is very modern, chic and inviting. There's places to sit inside and outside and there's merch available. The barista who took my order was super friendly, had a nice conversation with her and she invited to give me a tour and I gladly accepted. It was such a treat and a great experience to see the process! Totally love the vibes of this place! The cookie they offer is so delicious, it hits on my top 10 on my cookie list!

This spot is kind of hidden away. Not on a main drag and very simple outside. Missed it when I parked across the street at a park I wanted to checkout(the park was not great) but on my way back to the car I saw this spot and it a hidden Gem got a Long Black which consist of two shots and water and man did it kick. I was juiced till 12:30am and it's been awhile since I had a coffee do that to me. Plus it was very tasty, no sugar or milk added by the way. Definitely going to try to hit up this spot again.

I already had my coffee today so I decided to try a golden latte. It is $5.50 and it's caffeine free. I purchased it hot with oat milk. It had a good amount of tumeric I was pleased. You really need to like tumeric for this tea it's strong. Rdawg ordered a cappuccino hot with regular milk. I had a sip and it's good coffee. Every-time we travel we look for coffee shops that use La Marzocco espresso machine. If you see this machine you will have a good cup of coffee! Trust me. I also paid $10 for a vegan mango dessert item. It was good. I bit too rich for me I'll try the spiralina one f I return.

Overall the coffee is really good if you actually enjoy the taste of coffee, but if you like the overly sweet coffee drinks then this may not be your place. Coffee: 9/10 I got the vanilla latte and it came out good! It was pretty earthy which I didn't mind, but isn't something I particularly enjoy when drinking coffee. I opted to pay extra for the macadamia nut milk since I've never tried it, so this may have provided the different flavor to the coffee I wasn't expecting. Overall I still enjoyed the coffee Service: 10/10 The gentleman working here today was very polite and patient, he didn't seem to mind helping me choose an item since I haven't been here before. My coffee was made fairly quickly and I didn't have to wait long at all. Ambiance: 10/10 Not a lot of seating, but enjoy for a small crowd. Some of the chairs are very low to the ground, so not good for people with bad knees. But they have three tall chairs and outside seating that would work for people. Very clean and quaint, they also have some coffee related goods for sale. The only thing that will keep me from coming back is the price. It's only one size of drinks and mine cost $6.50 and is pretty small. I hate to complain because I know small businesses don't have the luxury of lowering their prices. The quality of the coffee and service will make me consider coming back when I want a real cup of coffee over the overly-extra drinks at other establishments.

I like good coffee. I don't care about lattes or cappuccinos. I know a lot of people like these other kinds of drinks. But my interest is high quality coffee beans. I've ordered coffee beans from Hawaii. They're very expensive. I was hoping to find a good local coffee place. I tried several and was disappointed, I went to four places yesterday to see what else was available: i found this gem. This is a coffee bean roaster. They sell high quality, freshly roasted, coffee beans. They also sell coffee, coffee drinks, and some food. The guy behind the counter was very helpful. He clearly knew about coffee. He wanted to know how I made my coffee and gave me advice, based on my personal coffee preferences. I got a package of the coffee he recommended. He also gave me a cup of a freshly-brewed coffee. That freshly brewed coffee was outstanding. I couldn't wait for this morning to try the new beans. They were delicious. I can't wait to try other types. They have a full-on roasting facility on site. They moved to long beach from southern orange county to get a bigger roasting space. They had a smaller older coffee roaster in the corner and a huge industrial coffee roaster. This place is across from a park in a little commercial strip in a residential area. I can't wait to come back for great coffee.

I go out weekly for coffee with my cousin. We only go to independent shops, in the greater Long Beach area. This week we went to Common Room Roasters in the Zafaria neighborhood. Primarily, a coffee bean roasting business, they do have a barista service and seating area. We enjoyed a delicious cup of Joe here, along with friendly service. They offer the customary espresso brews, as well as tea. I did not see any food offerings. Seating is available indoors and outdoors. The space is decorated with lovely plants, giving it a clean, welcoming vibe. There is a small area with coffee related items for sale. Across the street, in what is a mixed light industrial and residential neighborhood, is a beautiful park. I really liked this place!! Great people, great vibe, great coffee! I'll definitely be back!

Tucked away in a neighborhood setting next to a park. We parked in the park parking lot across the way. Immaculate, very spacious, clean space, you are welcomed with a coffee smell that warms your heart. Quality coffee, friendly service with a big smile greets you. Croissant yummy :) Highly recommend this local gem.

Was hired to do some contract work here and ended up finding my new favorite roasters! They make it all there. I love supporting local businesses and these guys knocked it out of the park. Love the coffee and the vibes , highly recommend.

The women working on Labor Day were in really bad moods. If you can't leave your emotions at home then you shouldn't be working. Thought it was off putting and unprofessional. This place doesn't have good customer service it's also just how they've been every time I've visited. It's funny because Good Time was packed it's no wonder they have great customer service there. Take your business elsewhere!

The food was uniquely crafted, the coffee was great. I recommend the Ethiopian pour over. And the atmosphere is nice. Roomy and green, good lighting, music not too loud

first time to common room rosters today, it was between here and another place nearby. When I first saw it on yelp, I thought I had to visit it due to its industrial feel for the ambiance of it! To my surprise , it felt exactly that, the staff was super friendly and helpful for helping me narrow down a choice for cold brew at home. I also asked the suggestion of what the Chia misu was like! It's basically a Chia seed pudding that is flavored like a tiramisu with vegan flavors. That too also surprised me because I don't normally eat Chia seed pudding.

Wish the sgv had better coffee shops like Long Beach does! I came here after trying to decipher with photos which place to choose, they did not disappoint! How I gauge my satisfaction with a latte is the strength & smoothness but also robust flavor of the beans. Everything checks out here! Yummy. Great start to my day.

Their coffee is absolutely wonderful! Was served a cup of their Darkside Blend at the new Nick's in Newport Beach and thought it was fantastic. Next day, I drove all the way from Yorba Linda to LB to pick up a pound. And very nice people work there too. Met the Roaster as well. Nice staff.

Thank you, Everett for your knowledge and service. I've been in search of top fresh quality of coffee/espresso. As I finally step away from supporting Starbucks, I shared my concerns of the way their coffee made me feel, the acid reflux and endless vile. That burnt taste reminiscent wet rag scent, I can't do anymore. Everett was right on with fresh bean smooth taste. I'm only sorry we couldn't chat more this first time. I'll be back, the space is super dope, I like how you can see the wholesale process off to the side in the back. There's no hiding! Cheers to all the coffee connoisseurs and this one you don't want to skip!

Wow, what a hidden gem!!! This place is sooo cute and such a great find! The customer service is great (super friendly) and I love the high quality syrups they use. Love love love the working space and that you can see your coffee being roasted. There is also a park literally right across the parking lot, so it's also perfect if you're a parent who wants a fun treat while watching your child play (like me!). I highly recommend and will return. Support your small coffee shops!

One of the best coffee shops in Long Beach. Originally from Australia, Common Room is a small scale roaster and specialty cafe, with just one location. They are a transparent operation of sourcing, roasting, and brewing the highest quality single origin and blended coffees in the world. When my husband ordered a Macchiato and the barista asked, "this is a classic Macchiato, served with seltzer, is that okay?", we knew we were in a great place. Starbucks has taught people that a macchiato is a caramel drizzled latte, but it is actually just a shot of espresso, marked with a small amount of steamed milk on top. I got a Flat White, and a cup of brewed coffee as well, both of which were excellent. I did not catch the name of their pastry source, but the Almond Croissant was delicate, flaky perfection. 10/10.

What an absolute gem this place is. The coffee is the best around, and the staff both are very good at what they do, and are genuinely friendly people. I enjoy going here and try to do so often. A great space that invites you in and welcomes you to stay. Would not be out of place at all in Berlin or Lyon. As some have mentioned, sometimes (definitely not always) the music could be a bit lower. You know what would be really sweet? If they took that room across from the bathrooms (I think) and just played mellow jazz and had soft seats. And pillows! And a beanbag chair.

Common Room Roasters is our local coffee shop. These folks are as good as it gets. Coffee is premium. People are even better. Very chill vibe in a fun little funky part of Long Beach. Love going in here and can't recommend it higher.

Not only amazing coffee, but incredible industrial-type shop that is impeccably designed and decorated. I only gave it 4 stars because the largest drink option available is a 12 oz, and they don't have decaf.

Yum!!!!! That vanilla homemade syrup was so good! Had it in a hot latte and a cold latte and the taste was so distinct. In the hot it was creamy. In the old latte it was perfect vanilla taste on the initial mouth feel and then the lingering coffee taste. Highly recommend!!! The service was friendly and efficient. Cute cafe with plenty of seating.

Ambiance is modern and appealing to the eyes, It's nice they have the coffee rostary area open to the public viewing . Which is different. The seating isn't the most comfortable but it's cute . They have different options for seating low rise tables , height barstool, and outdoors . Located right across the street from the park we opted to have our coffee on their outdoors then moved to a bench at the park. Was very pleasant. Coffee is delish and averages priced. Had a lavender latte and finished it in almost one sip. Wasn't overly sweet so very good. Staff was super kind, friendly and welcoming explained to me what was in the Latisse I was unfamiliar with on their menu and then brought our coffee to our table. 10/10 recommend!
