I have been to cocktail bars across the U.S. and many other countries, and Common Spirits is on par with World known places. If you are visiting the city, stop by and enjoy. They do not offer food anymore, but you can bring your own food! Great news: a few feet away, Venturi Pizza is available. They have more than pizza. Looked them up. If you come on a Monday, you may get the old fashioned or margaritas for $6! My favorite cocktail bar in Goshen by far, and maybe in the planet! (I've traveled a lot!) Make sure you ask for the special of the night. #ItsGoodHere

This place blew our mind! The food and drinks were perfect and delicious!!! Will be back! We had the Nashville chicken and CS fries! Wow 🤯 Also had the poke bowl. Great wait staff and cooks. Great experience!

Always a great time at Common! Staff and owners are always super nice and helpful! Craft cocktails that have been well thought out and delicious! Love the mug and glassware, too! Food is packed with flavor and fresh! Love the holiday cocktails, but they still make the best old fashions I've ever had!

Fantastic food, service, drinks and a really cool atmosphere in a very old and historic building. The wings are the best I have ever had. They were juicy and the sauce was absolutely delicious! (I think it was the Vietnamese sauce, but I can’t remember for sure). The Poke bowl was very fresh and my wife loved it. Tried several cocktails and all of them were fantastic. Would highly recommend this place for a date night or any occasion. I have been to many cocktail bars around the country and this is one of my favorites. Goshen is lucky to have such a great place.

Stopped for just cocktails and loved the nice, casual atmosphere. Drinks were average but service was great. Definitely look forward to come back and try some other options and food

Very trendy both in its atmosphere as well as their cocktail and menu choices. Staff is pleasant. The place is very small so I wouldn't count on having a seat at the bar if you show up on a weekend during dinner time. But other than that it's a cool place.

WARNING! Only come here if you want to support GREAT humans serving you GREAT drinks and GREAT bites in a GREAT space that serves as a social hub for a GREAT community. Did I mention this place is GREAT?! The Throttle Stuck is my favorite cocktail of ALL TIME. Even back when dinosaurs roamed the earth I still preferred it over some of the cocktails of that era. 6/5 stars. Go give Jami, Ryan, and Tiffany some of your big spirit energy and don’t forget to tip your service industry PROFESSIONALS!! 🤟☮️

Such an amazing little bar! The bartenders really know their craft. Part of the menu was a “bartenders choice” and made some of the best and most unique cocktails I’ve seen anywhere. Probably one of the best bars in northern Indiana for mixed drinks. The food was amazing as well, generous portions and it really hit the spot. Get the fries… any of them.

They stopped serving food a couple of months ago, but you can bring in food from the local restaurants nearby. Us locals were saddened by this decision, but maybe things will change in the future.

Super sweet and helpful staff. Fun options for drinks that we both thoroughly enjoyed. Unique interior and obviously a well-loved place by the locals because they were pretty busy. Great experience overall... heading back for one more visit before we leave Goshen.

The food here was INCREDIBLE! They have some really good Asian inspired pub food and have a fun little flare on every dish. There's something for everyone. The drinks were good too. I did the Bartender's Choice and was very pleasantly surprised that it was so fun and funky and delicious :) the only thing that gave this a four star review was that the service was a little slow. It took 15 minutes for the full table to get all our drinks. Otherwise, everything went well. The food came out in a reasonable time. The waitress very so friendly. Definitely a great recommendation we were given by the locals.

It's a small bar, not a lot of seating, but if you do get the chance to grab a bar stool or table you are in for a treat. Cocktails are creative, affordable and tasty! I ordered the Vietnamese chicken wings too and they were great!

Common spirits may be a small locale from the outside but the interior is always lively and wonderful. The staff are attentive and knowledgeable. They recognize their regulars and make all feel at home. The communal seating area also adds a unique feel to dining where you can get to know new people over drinks and fabulous food. The menu is limited but delicious and changes with holidays and seasons. The drinks also change with the menu. There are often specials and for a truly great experience go downstairs to sister bar Nice Try for a nice ending to your evening with free games and cheap drinks. Highly recommended and always a great experience.

Verdict: One of the nicer places for drinks in Goshen Atmosphere / decor - 4 Service - 4 Food - NA Location - 4 Value - 3.5 Overall 4 Common Spirits has a nice atmosphere. There are two little benches at the front where you can wait for a table if you wish. There are a few booths as well as bar area. In the back there are two small tables that can be pushed together. Behind that is a community table with benches. There's a patio but I've not seen it. Service seems to be consistently good. I've not had the food but it looks good. The cocktails are priced around $9. I saw some Indiana beers/spirits which is neat. They offer nightly drink specials which are unique cocktails (not at a discounted price). It's right off the Main Street of Goshen and is walkable to other bars. Overall it's a nice place to visit for some custom cocktails.

Common Spirits is one of my favorite weekend of after-party hangouts. I love the cool atmosphere and the drinks. They are fab. All the drinks are handmade, everything from the mixers to some of the liquors are made in-house. Each drink has 2 ounces of liquor in it, yet you will only pay $6-12 for a custom drink. One of my favorites here is the Whisky Slushie, it's no longer on the menu but you can request one! There are drink specials each night as well. The owner, Jamie, can always be found behind the bar mixing and serving up drinks. This place gets PACKED on a weekend night after 9pm, usually it is standing room only at that point. Since the venue is small but the place is popular, go expecting to stand but with a good chance of snagging a chair or booth as people leave. There is not much room for large crowds. It's definitely an intimate, cozy setting with good tunes, the best mixed drinks in town, and fun people. Food! Yes, the do serve this too. They have a great bibimbap bowl and a few other selections. If you just want some snacks, I highly suggest their hummus and pita plate or their chips and dip. Homemade and delicious!

Exactly what Goshen needed. When I visit family in Goshen, I always try to stop by Common Spirits. I usually order off of their menu (Garden Smash is amazing), but last time I was there I decided to order cocktails that weren't on the menu, and CS was able to make every one. Prices are incredibly reasonable (esp compared to the markets I'm used to in Chicago and Boston). Strongly recommend if you are looking for a place to grab a cocktail. Seating can fill up, so I recommend you arrive earlier to grab a seat. They have a larger bench table in the back that a group can sit at, booths, or bar seating.

I have to say, this is probably the best kept secret in Goshen. I didn't find this place until a year after working in Goshen and I'm so bummed I was missing out on this gem the whole time! My friend brought me there to try a tap beer from a local brewery but I walked in and saw the fresh basil and mint and knew I had to get whatever they were used in. The Garden Smash uses the fresh basil and o boy was it delicious! Yes it's on the pricier side, but it was so refreshing and unique! On my second visit here we also came across another neat secret -- the doughnut wall! Friday's mean all access to free doughnuts! What a cool concept. I just want to commend Common spirits because it's so cool such a small town has such a unique and fun bar right in the center of town!

I didn't hate my experiences here and I actually like the fact that it is small - if I can get in. There aren't many other places like this in Goshen, which is why it probably has a reputation as being a bit better than it really is. The exceedingly limited menu of both food and drinks is why I don't go more often. Common Spirits seems to have an identity crisis, trapped somewhere between a surprisingly good dive bar/hole in the wall and swanky, highfalutin cocktail lounge. (Not necessarily a bad thing). Nonetheless, the place is still worth checking out to see for yourself what you think. UPDATE: Thanks to Ryan H. for reaching out and setting me straight. I must admit, the staff here has always been great. Despite my gripes regarding the menu, the staff here goes above and beyond.

Owners Jami and Ryan are constantly coming up with creative ideas to host the community as able during 2020. This is a this quaint, clean, cozy bar with a great staff that goes out of their way to prioritize your safety during this pandemic. Wear a mask and feel free/safe to check them out!

This is a cool little place. I ordered the bartenders choice on the drink menu. She asked me some questions about my taste preference and mixed up an incredible drink that fit my taste. Elite fries were delicious. I highly recommend!

Stopped in with family and friends on New Year's Eve for some cocktails. This is, by far, the best place in Goshen for cocktails. They have all the classics, plus some interesting takes on the classics. Also, they will make you something based on what you like. This selection is on the menu and really helps to "break the ice" for people that don't often drink cocktails and want to try something new. Going to cocktail bars can be daunting to some so this is a really great way for people to try something new without being intimidated. They also have a good selection of domestic and craft beers. My only complaint is that the place was packed!

This place is a winner. If given a choice and out for the evening, this is always one of my favorite places to stop. The drink menu rotates with the seasons and they always have creative, tasty drink options with fresh, quality ingredients. The Garden Smash and Jean Jacket are some of my faves.

Quaint spot. About five tables, small bar top and a few window seats along with a cute little back alley-like patio that fit our small group of 6. We came on a Wednesday evening around 8:30 and it took us a bit and some shuffling around to get a spot together. I can imagine it gets packed on the weekends and it would be standing room only, stand and chat! Our drinks were fabulous, sat at the bar and admired the fresh squeezed juices, fresh mint and basil along with some infusions they had going. There were multiple people working but one sole bad-ass woman making every single cocktail for all the guests, perhaps the owner? Unsure, but she was killing it. I ended with the dessert drink called "Can't Stop Won't Stop" and it was absolute heaven, reminded me of butter-beer from harry potter world but SO MUCH BETTER. Small 4 item menu. I got the pita pressed sandwich and hummus. Sandwich was great, i'm not a big fan of potato chips but i enjoyed them with the spicy herb ranch dip they gave with. I ate my whole meal and never got any silverware or napkins though so I just ate with my hands, they were too busy to ask. I'll be back!

Always a fun place to go. I absolutely love the atmosphere. One tip is go always try the drink special! I do it every time and I love it! Tonight it was the Jean Jacket. It was a hot bourbon drink with cider in it. Yummm

Excellent decor and unexpectedly great views of Goshen through the large windows. Felt metropolitan in a comfortable small town way. Great cocktails and good service. Great destination. We will be back.

Another great addition to downtown Goshen! Really comfortable, cozy decor. There's a back patio, although with chairs arranged in a circle it's probably best for a larger group of friends. Drinks were on par with any fancy big-city cocktail bar -- but at about half the cost (it's like happy hour all the time, I guess!). I was a bit surprised to find the tuna tacos cooked through (I suppose fresh isn't the best bet so far from the ocean anyway), but they were delicious nonetheless.

I came to visit from L.A. We went there last night. Everything was perfect from the greeting to the final checks. We were greeted and seated immediately, even though it was packed. Two of us ordered Bartender choice drinks, requesting which alcohol we preferred. The rest was up to bartender. Our specialty drinks were amazing. The other two ordered tequila and a prosecco. Both delicious. We were served waters upon request. Very attentive server. Music was great and could be heard over the din of constant conversations. Prices very reasonable. My only complaint was that the front outside stairs were slippery from the rain and one stair need tightening.

Staff knows their liquor. Drinks are done well. Their drinks are different and unusual takes, not just a rum and soda. I tend to only come to drink, I know they have been expanding their food options. Have heard good things. I am sure if they put it on their small menu...it's good.

The drinks are amazing!! Good luck getting a spot here because it's usually at capacity but obviously because they are good at what they do!

My wife and I stopped in on our way to a small concert in town, we were so impressed we went back right after. The cocktails are unique and unbelievably good! Wonderful ambience, excellent service and some great bar food! Thank you, we will defiantly be back as soon as possible.
