Yelp
Commonwealth Tap is a beer drinkers' bar, a bourbon drinkers' bar and a wine drinkers' bar.
There is quite a selection of each at this Norton Commons watering hole that no matter your adult beverage of choice, you're bound to find something here that you like.
But I admit: I know beer much more than I know bourbon or wine. And on the night I visited, I particularly enjoyed an Ommegang Abbey Ale but was also impressed that they had Bell's Oberon and Country Boy Shotgun Wedding. (They also offer Budweiser and Miller, so beer elitists, Commonwealth Tap is not.)
But with 30 or more wines and 70+ bourbons available, I would hope that wine and bourbon enthusiasts would find something yummy to drink. And if you do not, you should perhaps go home to drink, with your snobbery to keep you company.
Just kidding.
Kind of.
Not really.
Commonwealth Tap is small, so seating could be a bit of a challenge on a busy night, but there are also sidewalk tables, which are positively delightful in the summertime, really taking advantage of the whole Norton Commons community feel.
The live music on Thursday nights was nice, though a little loud at times. And you can also buy bottles of these heavenly libations to take home with you.
If I lived in Norton Commons, I feel like I would be at this neighborhood spot a bit too much perhaps. And even though I don't live in the East End, I think I'll still make a trip to take in Commonwealth Tap on occasion.
