Disclaimer: I visited Como Tap on their opening day and the customer service was ROUGH. It was some of the worst I've ever had. They messed up some of the orders at our table, they completely forgot to bring out the drinks we had ordered, and the wait time for getting our meals out, paying, etc. was horrendous. With that being said, I am understanding of the fact that they had a ton of customers at dinner time on a Friday night, and they had just opened the establishment. It was a chaotic time for them, so the rationale for my 4-star review is purely on the food/the few positive aspects of the service that night.
Como Tap was formerly Sporty's, and I have to say, I like this new food/drink menu a lot better than the old one. It's pretty much the same dive bar feel but I like to think of it as their revival, if you will. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was so damn good. Not too much breading and it was beautifully golden. For my side, I chose to get a side salad and I LOVED how much they gave despite it being a supposed side salad (refer to my photo to see what I mean). The portion sizes here are massive! The prices are higher in comparison to when it was Sporty's, but the big helpings make it worth it.
Being that our customer service (or lack there of) was so bad, they did end up comping our drinks which was a nice gesture. I appreciated the recognition of the fact that they had messed up on their part.
I will be back in the future and I definitely support Como Tap as a new local business! I can't wait to try more of their great bar/American food options!
For those who have never been, Como Tap only has free street parking in the neighborhood surrounding it. It's always easy to find a place to park here.
