This is a hidden gem at the U of M imo. This buffalo chicken salad was an absolute banger🔥🔥but there’s a lot more to love about this place than just the food. They have karaoke, pool, pinball, and more that make this place fun to hangout at and socialize. Oh yeah and most importantly they have good pricing for drinks.

This place is a total dive. I mean a real dive. And given options, it's the only place I'd go. Absolutely the best burgers in Minneapolis. The cooks are fry masters too. The chicken fingers, the hot chick sandwich, the fish. Didn't forget the Mac and cheese; your momma never made it like this.

16 year pro DJ and host. And everything was fine and fun. Just the part where new people came first. It's not how one keeps regulars or new singers from coming and staying. They go elsewhere. FYI.

Google
Awesome place to get some drinks, meet people, and have a good time. Great staff, good taps, etc. The food is good, but a bit pricy for me. Every time I come I find myself asking for a food menu to look and then end up not ordering anything but beer because of how pricy it is. The beer is reasonably priced! Just not the food IMO.

Google
Friendly neighborhood spot with a nice variety of tasty food (including a brunch menu on the weekend until 3pm), a pool table, and even a few games for the kiddos. Good music is almost always playing in this super casual dive, and the staff is great!

Google
Gotta love a place where you can have a whole room to yourself while you watch Wedding Crashers on TV and drink Hamm's tallboys on a dreary Sunday afternoon! Very friendly service from the bartender. Bathroom is very weirdly set up and very poorly maintained/stocked, however,

Como Tap is a gem gifted to humanity by the gods. An utter privilege to exist in the same reality as this profoundly fine dining (and drinking) establishment. There are not seven wonders of the world, there is one, and it is Como Tap.

Google
This is the premier bar of the minneapolis-como area. It's classy, it's tasteful, it's family friendly. It inspires you to live your best. Could not recommend more!

Yelp
Great burgers and fries! Good prices on drinks... Haven't been out to too many restaurants since the pandemic began however this place is a little gem! Just enough service even though the bartender was swamped kudos to you!

Justine B.

Yelp
Very cute bar. Friendly staff. Good bar food. The chicken tenders were so good! The cheese curds were so soft on the inside but crispy on the outside with a Parmesan garlic sauce. Onion rings were hot a crispy as well. Everything came out hot and fresh.

Yelp
said kitchen was open until 1:30 am... went into establishment.. kitchen closed at 12... waitress rude..

Yelp
Bartender freaked out at my friend because he asked for a drink and we waited in line for 15 minutes and they were serving people that came after us. I like this bar and its environment but the service is absolutely horrible

Kiki A.

Yelp
Bad attitudes from bartenders who throw out accusations of "having an attitude" and saying we can leave before anyone could actually talk about the situation at hand. The bouncer who walked in before us did not say anything or stop to check ids. Too worried about the pizza they had. Dude with the face tats is a punk.

Draevn E.

Yelp
I walked in this bar on Halloween night, no bouncer at the door. go to sit down get ready to play a game of pool when I'm asked for my ID, I presented a printed ID because my wallet just got stolen and that's what I had while waiting for my new ID to ship, I was quickly met with accusations of my id being fake, when I explainedy situation I was told that if i keep having a "shitty attitude I'm just gonna get kicked out." i had to leave at this point. I can't believe these bartenders can't recognize a ID, and then get super aggressive. wouldn't recommend coming here unless your looking for a bad time and overpriced rail drinks.

Kathleen K.

Yelp
Go for the chicken tenders or the hot chick. The bathrooms leave much to be desired, one holers. Amazing ambiance. The vibes are on. Good prices. College kids working usually, they do a great job.

Erica M.

Yelp
The crowd is awesome. The staff is even better. The fact that the server Anni is absolutely amazing. She heard my allergies and her and the rest of the staff made sure to cook on a clean grill and made my food to perfection. I'm highly allergic to soy and they helped me SO GRATE. I am beyond grateful.

Yelp
I went to Como Tap with a few friends on a Friday night. We took an Uber to Como Tap but it looked like there was some surrounding street parking. This place has an awesome atmosphere with lots to offer. When you first walk in there is a room with a billiard table and a few arcade games. As you move more into the restaurant there is a fun bar and as you keep going there is a restaurant area. They provide games to play at the table which I thought was a nice touch. My friends and I chose to sit at a table in the dining area and we ordered some food and drinks. Our server did a great job at giving us attention especially considering how busy the place was. I ordered a grilled cheese with fries and my friend ordered the tater tot Mac and cheese. I thought both were a bit bland but were good comfort food to go with drinking. They also offered a nice size list of beer and ciders along with a full bar. Overall this place has a really fun atmosphere and is great for groups. Definitely coming back to have fun with friends.

Yelp
Chia and Breanna are awesome! Came in for Karaoke and the bar service was awesome, even though it was packed! Breanna was so sweet and made us yummy shots!! Both bartenders gave great cocktail recommendations and served us quickly. We were all hungover the next morning but WORTH IT!!

Yelp
OVERALL: Definitely a campus bar. Pretty average all around. ATMOSPHERE: I only come here for trivia nights so it tends to be super busy. One big room packed with a bunch of others. It's bustling! FOOD: typical bar food, we tend to get burgers or chicken fingers. They have an ample amount of sauces to upgrade your meal! DRINKS: vodka sodas tend to be decently strong and are $5 for rail so no complaints. PRICE: average pricing. $10-$15 for entrees SERVICE: the service is always nice! Just can be a bit slower on busy nights

Yelp
Buyer Beware - great food but bill inflation. This would be a 5 star review. Service was good...food was great...if it hadn't been for sticker shock I'd have thought, wow...little hole in the wall makes food that good? Not a huge menu but interesting items. We ended up here because we went somewhere we thought was a bar and grill but turned out to be just a bar...so we were looking for food and it was after 8 which means our options in this area were mostly limited to bars that serve food...which is kind of what we'd set out for anyway. Table of 3....we ordered 2 appetizers, and each got a sandwich and soda. The waitress was friendly...a little busy so it took her some time to bring things we needed like plates for the apps. 2 problems with the apps and I could have complained but it was minor and with a busy waitress you might not even get a chance to complain until the food is there. Here were the minor issues. One app was mozzarella sticks. They were $8 without dipping sauce and $10 with. We decided we didn't really care..I kinda like sauce but I was only going to have 1 so I thought $2 just for sauce for my one stick....don't care that much. She never asked if we wanted sauce but she brought it and we were charged for it. Ultimately it was a dozen very good sticks...good value and since there were so many and sauce I actually got two. So fine...I still would be a 5 star review....seemed a happy accident. The other problem was the other app. Buffalo wings. They have boneless and bone in. I very clearly annunciated bone in...I just don't like the heavy salty batter on boneless. And she brought boneless. Sauce was great...I only had one though because of the batter...and it was a bit disappointing because I think the bone in wings would have been fantastic and I was the one who wanted wings. But again...I could have said something. She offered refills on our beverages...they came quickly enough. The soda was very good and Coke, not Pepsi which is a thing with a certain member of my family (typical evening = where you wanna go for dinner? Somewhere with Coke.). And not all fountain pop is created equal. Theirs was top of the line. The food came...my son had a burger with sweet potato fries which was a real fresh patty on a soft delicious bun ..nothing frozen or preformed.. My wife had a fish sandwich and it was real, fresh hand battered fish. I had a fried egg sandwich with bacon and cheese on multigrain toast. Everything was hot and fresh and delicious. Other than the issues with the apps which were nbd and taking A little time for the waitress to come to the table it was pretty great. I might go to 4.5 stars if that were an option but I was impressed. Until I got the bill. It was $92 something....with tip I walked out down $110. For 3 sandwiches and 2 apps. And everything we ordered on was between 10 and 15. I'm thinking menu price of what we ordered maybe 65 plus sodas. If you add 2 for the marinara we didn't order and 3 for each soda you're at $76. Well not only did they add for the sauce...they charged for every refill. So 3 pops were $25. 65 plus 25 plus 2 is 92. And that just makes me suspicious if the whole not asking about sauce thing was even an accident. Now if there's no free refills...which is not unheard of in a bar (but neither is free soda to encourage designated drivers...usually bar and grill with full service restaurant it's just assumed)...this is something that at minimum you tell a patron when they order a refill. You CERTAINLY don't offer them as if they're free without disclosing. So I get that running a restaurant is expensive and you charge what you have to charge. I get that wait staff may not always get to your table as quickly as you like. I get that mistakes can happen. And If I'm expecting to spend $90 on a meal out...$110 isn't going to break me. But sticker shock is not a good feeling. I think if they pulled this on a sober family...how bad are they going to stick it to all the young drunk people pouring into the place. I probably won't be back because of this...great food but a lot of places serve great food. And it was a fun atmosphere...I wish the place luck and it seems they were well attended...I just hope anyone who reads this knows to ask questions and be vigilant. Honestly I'd have probably had an $8 mixed drink before I'd have paid $8+ for 3 Cokes. It was less Coke than I'd get by buying a $1 large at McDonalds and I know the reason they give you free refills at restaurants is that fountain soda costs them pennies a glass and when they charge $3...no matter how many you drink it's over $2 in profit for the establishment. It comes down to honesty for me...and I feel intentionally misled. It wasn't a big enough deal to try to say anything. I just feel like if you're going to go here...I hope you know what you're getting and what to look out for. 5 star food 1 star practices...3 stars is fair.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I visited Como Tap on their opening day and the customer service was ROUGH. It was some of the worst I've ever had. They messed up some of the orders at our table, they completely forgot to bring out the drinks we had ordered, and the wait time for getting our meals out, paying, etc. was horrendous. With that being said, I am understanding of the fact that they had a ton of customers at dinner time on a Friday night, and they had just opened the establishment. It was a chaotic time for them, so the rationale for my 4-star review is purely on the food/the few positive aspects of the service that night. Como Tap was formerly Sporty's, and I have to say, I like this new food/drink menu a lot better than the old one. It's pretty much the same dive bar feel but I like to think of it as their revival, if you will. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it was so damn good. Not too much breading and it was beautifully golden. For my side, I chose to get a side salad and I LOVED how much they gave despite it being a supposed side salad (refer to my photo to see what I mean). The portion sizes here are massive! The prices are higher in comparison to when it was Sporty's, but the big helpings make it worth it. Being that our customer service (or lack there of) was so bad, they did end up comping our drinks which was a nice gesture. I appreciated the recognition of the fact that they had messed up on their part. I will be back in the future and I definitely support Como Tap as a new local business! I can't wait to try more of their great bar/American food options! For those who have never been, Como Tap only has free street parking in the neighborhood surrounding it. It's always easy to find a place to park here.

Yelp
I was craving a salad tonight so I ordered from here bcuz it's very close. This salad was so so good! Lots of chicken bacon and blue cheese. Extra ranch dressing and the bread was delish!

Lauren M.

Yelp
As a longtime fan of Sporty's I was skeptical trying out the new Como Tap. However, I was happily surprised to see that much has remained the same. Great food, friendly service and a good happy hour menu. A few improvements have been made: the bathrooms now have locks, some tables have been moved to make better use of the space and a few tweaks to the food/menu. Personally I love seeing all the vegetarian and vegan options! We had the PB + Bacon burger (with Garlic Parmesan fries), cheese curds and vegetarian chili tonight and all were delicious! We'll definitely continue to keep Como Tap in our regular rotation of bars!

Yelp
Chia is the best Why u no have cauliflower wings anymore??? Veggies still need to eat during a pandemic.

Yelp
I've been coming here with my friends for awhile and it's way too hot we can barely order anything. It smells because they don't have any air conditioning, I really wish they could fix this problem because I think it could be fun. It's too hard to have fun when you can barely handle the heat. And it stinks like musty underwear in here cause all the odors are wafting into the heat. Overall love the workers and the atmosphere is great, they all work super hard. The smell and heat is really all I can say would take me to another bar.

Alex S.

Yelp
I went to Como Tap with multiple of my coworkers and ordered a round of generic shots. I tipped 10% since there was minimal effort going into pouring the generic shots for my coworkers. When the bartender brought the shots to our table, he stated to me in front of all my coworkers that the 10% tip "was not a good amount" on a $50 tab. The shots were basic, and I was already paying $5 per shot for shots that would cost me a $1 per or less if I made them on my own. I've never experienced such a bad employee in my life, and I hope this review reaches the right person because their behavior was out right embarrassing to me and all of my coworker. We will definitely be choosing a different spot next time for our gathering.

Yelp
Como Tap has come a long way since Sporty's. There are Sporty's fans in the wake standing and wondering who the hell has the nerve to fill such shoes. I know that Sporty's had a strong reputation but Como Tap has done an incredible job in meeting those high standards. The gal who owns Como Tap was a long-time server of Sporty's from what I hear and she has done a lot to keep things very familiar for long-time fans. Food is delicious right away and they have a vast variety of drinks. They have karaoke multiple times per week and trivia on Thursday nights! I have had the chicken tenders and the quesadilla and both have been delicious! Definitely have been keeping them in my Usuals book!

Yelp
If you ever just need that place that exudes comfort, this is it Also, there is some magic on that grill as everything off of it tastes just a little extra delicious, always. Bartenders are friendly and attentive. Tap list is consistently refreshed, very often, which is a huge draw on top of everything else. Hard to recommend one single food item but I will say that their burgers are undersung in this town and I live right next to a place with a blue door that is supposed to be at the top, but Como Tap does it better! Also, great amount of space plus games and whatnot. I wish I lived nextdoor...

Kathy Q.

Yelp
I am obsessed with Como Tap -aka Sportys. It's my neighborhood hang and i just love it. I could LOVE if the cauliflower wings came back tho.... Chia, Alexis, Cat, Mandy and Rachel are my loves!! Xoxoxxo

Emily V.

Yelp
Terrible food and even worse service. I visited como tap 10-17-20 at 9pm. At first we were excited and thought we'd found a gem of a place because the atmosphere is fun and the menu looked promising. But our waitress... oh, boy. She's some blonde girl. Forgot her name, probably because she barely paid attention to us. I think there was one other couple eating and nobody at the bar so no reason to be so negligent. She didn't once ask how food was, offer a single refill, or check on us. Not once. We had to go up to her and ask for condiments which she haughtily gave us. She also forgot to put in our appetizer. When the wings we ordered finally came out after we'd finish our meal, my boyfriend bit into them and they were undercooked, limp, bloody. He bit into another and same thing. When we showed her she stood there and said "oh, ok." Didn't offer to comp them or offer any apologies, I would've been happy if she'd just offer to throw them in the oven for another 5 minutes. Really bad experience overall, the four of us won't be retuning or recommending.

Sofi T.

Yelp
I just had breakfast at Como tap and it was fantastic! I just got the basic breakfast and it blew me away! They did such a great job!

R B.

Yelp
Extremely rude and unprofessional employees. Called the bar with no answer, entered the building to a surprisingly very rude attitude from a blonde woman working that clearly doesn't care about any customers. She even gave me the bird in the alley way!

Ashley J.

Yelp
This place has really tasty burgers and tater tots. The inside is ratchet but hey, part of the ambiance.

Marni H.

Yelp
I was really excited to try out the new revamp of Sportys. I will NEVER be back again. The bartender I believe her name is Kinzy was the rudest bartender I have ever encountered. She almost made the server cry and was rude to all her customers. Someone needs a lesson on how not to be a bully. I hope the new owners will see what I'm saying and get rid of her. Until then I won't be back.
