Loved our first time at Compa! The honey cinnamon latte was the best one I have had in San Diego county so far. A perfect blend of delicious coffee with a not-too-sweet twist. The dark moca was incredible, best moca flavour out there by far. There are many tables and the interior is cute and homey. Service was friendly and prompt with our drinks coming out within five minutes of ordering. Excited to come back and try out the food offerings!

Compa is one of my favorite cafes in San Diego. I’m always hesitant to try matcha at new cafes, but they do it really well. I’m a big fan of matcha tonics/sparkling water and often times cafes don’t offer it. But Compa staff are always happy to make it, and they make it really yummy! The staff are so sweet. I’ve run into pretty much all the staff and they’re so sweet. The owner is also very sweet and seems very passionate about the cafe and customers. I hope they expand, but will always love this location :) Parkings easy enough, maybe a bit busy during lunch but nothing crazy. WiFi is great, seating can be tough to get but they open up quickly.

Google
The line moved quickly. I enjoyed that despite all the staff being busy, they acknowledged every visitor with a quick greeting. The menu is well designed quickly and easily. Items ordered: P.A.A.T sandwich - DELICIOUS! avocado toast: The flavors mix well together. The avocado goes really well with the spicy mustard. You can tell they work with high-quality ingredients because I was able to taste the olive oil, the avocado, and the cheese with every bite. The grilled cheese- super crunchy and packed with flavor. The garlic bread was tasty. Loved every bite. Lavender Thyme latte- perfect temperature, flavorful enjoyed every sip. 1-1 shot- that shot was a slap to the face. It woke me up right away. Just what I needed after a long morning hike. I would visit this place again and recommend it to friends. The staff is nice, the food and drinks are well made and the atmosphere is calm and chill.

Google
I’m so glad I discovered Compa Coffee Roasters in Rancho Bernardo! I went in for a standard egg breakfast sandwich but decided to order the Jimmy Pesto Toast. It’s one of their Vegan options and WOW!! It was delicious! The sourdough bread was fresh topped with vegan spicy pesto sauce, creamy almond ricotta cheese and topped off with tasty blistered tomatoes. I had a lavender thyme hot latte! Both were delicious!! I can’t wait to go back and try another item off their menu! Definitely one of my favorite local coffee shop finds!

Google
I'm upset that I haven't been coming to this place sooner! This cafe has such a comfy and cozy atmosphere. Everyone who works here is really friendly and there's even an area outside to sit if you want to bring your fur babies. Along with their large selection of drinks, they also offer a great selection of hot food Incase you need something to eat.

Google
I had a great experience at Compa Coffee Roasters! It’s such a cute spot, always buzzing with people in the best way. They offer plenty of flexible options on the menu, and the service was quick and efficient. A perfect place to grab a coffee, get some work done, or just enjoy the lively atmosphere. Highly recommend!

Google
The best coffee roaster around and we try them all - and they have hot breakfast food. Over staffed and everyone is very friendly. The food is fantastic and the coffee tastes great. We go twice a week now.

Waleed S.

Google
Came by after going to morning Eid prayers and it was hard to find a seat inside, as usual, so we grabbed a couple tables outside on the patio. We ordered the lavender coffee again and it was delicious. We also ordered the pour-over coffee and a bagel, which were excellent as well. The order comes out quickly and the staff knows us now, which is nice.

Yelp
This place is incredible. My wife and I moved to the neighborhood a couple of months back and we are so grateful to have a specialty coffee shop right around the corner. All of the baristas are so sweet, every time I walk in here I feel at home. Massive shoutout to Jay, Hayden, Dylan, Taylor, Sophie, Sarah, Kevin, and anybody who else that I have missed. You all are appreciated. Thank you for making me feel like a valued and appreciated customer! The coffee is also great, the supertonic is great as is a simple drip. :)

Yelp
I consider myself a coffee connoisseur... especially espresso. I hail from Seattle where I've had a large share of stellar micro roast coffee, and there are many great roasters down here in San Diego as well. Barefoot Coffee Roasters and Zumbar are two great examples of stellar roasts. When the weather permits working outdoors (most of the time) I also roast at home. I've had some stellar hits as well as disappointing misses in that process, but that's to be expected by a novice like myself. However, when you go to a full established Coffee Roastery where you pay a premium for drinks and the beans, you expect near perfection on a fairly consistent basis. They should be experts at their craft. That being said, I would not consider this place a great nor expert roaster. Their coffee tastes like either they don't know how to roast, or they're still learning how to roast, and/or they are not selecting their coffee beans well... perhaps choosing cheaper beans to maximize profits. Hard to say. I just always come from here disappointed by both the drinks and the beans. The poster below me described it as "sour" which is a perfect description and it's been the same every time I come here.
google avatar

Antonius B.

Yelp
Writing this review off of a single cup of the Nitro Flash Brew. The coffee had great mouthfeel from the nitro pour and was creamy. The flavor however, wasn't great. Coffee was missing some roastiness and was borderline sour. I didn't even finish my cup. The staff was friendly and the place was clean, if I'm around, I would like to try another cup and potentially something else.

Yelp
The first time we tried to come here, the line was so long, we ended up going elsewhere. Happy to finally make it here and try the salted maple latte with almond milk. Very tasty.
google avatar

Yelp
Right when I walked in, I was greeted with friendly smiles! I ordered the PSL and it was delicious. Not too sweet. The espresso flavor still shines through. Latte art was beautiful. I also got the 9-5 breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, which I don't recommend swapping out. It was better on the biscuit it comes with. Absolutely enjoyed my experience here and can't wait to come back and try more! Coffe snobs, you'll love this place
google avatar

Lauren J.

Yelp
Such a rad place! Right when you walk in you're greeted & the place was super cozy & clean! It has a good variety of options to choose from. They offer seating inside but also have an outdoor patio which was awesome! The Honey Cinnamon Latte was amazing & the G.O.A.T. Toast was a great pair with it! The staff there is all super sweet & welcoming! I would definitely recommend & come back to try more on the menu!
google avatar

Yelp
Love Compa in RB! Coffee is great and so is the service! Everyone is so nice and accommodating. The salted maple latte is my go to. Lots of people always working inside. Only problem is parking in the plaza sometimes. It gets packed!
google avatar

Yelp
My favorite breakfast spot in rancho bernardo and one of my too choices in north county. Their flavors and choices are very clean and easy to eat. They have a great selection of toasts and bagels. The salmon lox, the pesto turkey, etc. the service is very welcoming and comfortable. The place is a bit small though so seating is limited.
google avatar

Viv N.

Yelp
One of my favorite coffee shops near me! Good coffee, bagels, and vibes :-) I usually get their best coast bagel or turkey melt which are both delish. Dare I say the best bagels in SD! Friendly staff, great service, and good for working if you can grab a table but definitely more of a 1-2 seater. I don't know who ungatekept this place but they're practically full on a weekday afternoon :') This plaza is busy too so expect to park a bit far and walk.
google avatar

Christi S.

Yelp
Absolutely love their matcha latte here. It's hard to go anywhere else after having Compa's. I love that you can customize the sweetness to your liking. I prefer just using simple or honey, but it pairs well with their vanilla or salted maple syrup too. I've had the Best Coast bagel (their lox bagel) and it's pretty amazing! They literally stuff it and it's delicious. Loooove that they put fresh dill in it, I literally inhale that stuff. Employees and service is pretty nice, they're super sweet and they make the orders reasonably quick. Sometimes their mobile ordering is unavailable, but I suspect they're busy and it's taken down for the meantime. Nonetheless, Compa's is a great place to get your fix!
google avatar

Ann V.

Yelp
I was in the area when I needed a lunchtime pick-me-up. I drove around The Mercado and found it. Its name Compa piqued my interest. Compa is short for compadre, or friend. With that name, I had a feeling this coffee shop would be welcoming and all about its customers. I stepped inside a really cuuute shop...digging the decor. The staff behind the counter acknowledged me with a quick warm greeting and the rest was history. The staff was nice, the food and drink were deliciously well made and the atmosphere was very chill. Overall, my experience was positive. Definitely now my favorite coffee shop in RB!
google avatar

Celeste J.

Yelp
I go here for the gluten free waffles and coffee :). Also a good place to just relax. Seating is limited though.
google avatar

Bernard D.

Yelp
Found this gem in the corner mall after shopping at Baron's. Had the iced coffee with lemonade--didn't think it would work but it did. I plan to return.
google avatar

Deanne L.

Yelp
First impression was great, I can see myself coming back frequently. The girl who took my order was super nice when I asked what she recommends. Ended up with a cinnamon honey iced latte which was great. Flavor was subtle but enough. I like how they give you real glass cups when you dine in. Got lucky and scored a table. Although plenty of tables inside and out, it's pretty full around lunch on a weekday. Productive place to get work done, with WiFi available.
google avatar

Louna N.

Yelp
Friendly and quick service. Ambiance is hipster with the minimalism and plant aesthetic. It took a few minutes for them to make the drink as soon as we ordered ! I decided to try the matcha latte iced with almond milk and I added vanilla and lavender syrup to give it more flavor. It cost 75 cents more for each. The drink alone was $5.25. If you order for here, they give in a tall glass cup. We enjoyed the drink ! It looks like they have free wifi as well so it would probably be a good spot to study at.

Yelp
What a great hidden gem tucked away in the corner of Rancho Bernardo! My daughter had gone with a friend and decided to take me there to grab some coffee. Compa is not just any regular coffee shop. They have a wide variety of beverages to keep yourself awake and caffeinated throughout the day (as well as non caffeinated options as well) and an extensive food menu as well. Everything from a charcuterie board to sandwiches, breakfast items, and baked goods. The food is very reasonably priced and quite tasty as well. The turkey club, charcuterie board and biscuit's were a few of our favorites. We also tried something different, half coffee/half lemonade. We were pleasantly surprised it was tasty and refreshing but not sure it would be my go to. Was glad we tried though. Compa also has a nice variety of beer and wine which is pretty cool. Plenty of indoor and outdoor door seating if you decide to grab a bite and drink and relax. The staff is always on point! Very friendly and welcoming and happy to help suggest something new and different for you or just happy to help if you are like me sometimes and just it sure what you want. Such great people and place!
google avatar

Katherine S.

Yelp
We were in the area and wanted to stop by a cafe for some coffee. We ended up at Compa Coffee and they DID NOT disappointment. I'm not the biggest fan of sweet coffee, so their coffee definitely hit the spot for me. You are able to customize the sweetness, which was awesome. We ordered the P.A.A.T Sandwich and Ham & Cheese Croissant w/ avocado and they were to die for. Super simple but still flavorful. They play chill music which would be great for a coffee date or even to study/get work done. The service was also great! They were very attentive and friendly. We live very far, so I wish we could go often. But if we are ever in the area, we will definitely go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Easy parking and easy to find! The inside is small but cozy- there are a few seats outside which is nice. I decided to try one of their seasonal drinks, the Newton, which is sweetened with fig. Surprisingly not extremely sweet which I loved and had a good balance of flavors. Overall a solid spot that I would visit again. The menu also had a wider variety of options and I believe I saw some alcoholic drink options too!
google avatar

Aurianna B.

Yelp
Been here multiple times and loved it every time. I enjoy the seasonal drinks. The food is also pretty tasty. This place is a bit out of the way so I don't stop in often but when I do, I enjoy it.

Yelp
Tried out **Compa Coffee Roasters** recently, and while there were some definite highlights, it was kind of a mixed bag overall. Let's start with the **good**: The **coffee** here is solid -- smooth, flavorful, and clearly crafted with care. I'd especially recommend trying one of the **B-Sides** options if you're into something a little different. They've got some creative drinks that stand out from the usual café fare. Also, **tons of parking** (a rare win!), and the **service was fast** and friendly. It's a **small café**, but they've managed to make good use of the space. There was enough seating even during the morning rush, which I appreciated. Now for the not-so-great... I ordered a **bagel sandwich**, and... they didn't actually make it. They just handed me a bagel with all the ingredients *separately*. Not toasted, not assembled -- just a pile of stuff and a bagel. I genuinely thought it was a mistake, but nope, that was it. And to be honest, the **bagel itself wasn't good** -- bland and kind of dry.
google avatar

Hope M.

Yelp
Stopped here for a quick caffeine hit! The coffee shop was so cute! It had lots of food to choose from and wine / beer! We ordered the lavender matcha and cappuccino. Both were absolutely delicious! The cappuccino was really smooth / creamy and the matcha was a bit on the sweeter side so I'd ask for half sugar next time. I snagged a banana bread slice to enjoy later in the day & it was so moist & had the best chocolate chunks.
google avatar

Christy J.

Yelp
Spontaneously came here because my testing site was nearby. Was very happy with the ambiance of the space. There was plenty of seating available around 3pm. I ordered in-house Matcha Latte with Oat milk and Lavender syrup, and the Ham&Cheese Croissant. I was pleasantly surprised with the Croissant! It was a good size sandwich, toasted, with the cheese spilling out *chefs kiss*. The Matcha Latte came out in a very tall glass which I found a value. They crew working there that day was very helpful and courteous on bringing my order directly to my table. Will definitely consider this place again when I'm in the area.
google avatar

Jemiah J.

Yelp
The staff here is super nice, efficient, and helpful. I loved the decor of this café. My friends and I enjoyed sitting outside while having brunch. I ordered an iced matcha latte made to perfection, a delicious 9-5 breakfast sandwich (the prosciutto was perfectly crispy, and the biscuit was heavenly), and a vegan fruit tart. Everything hit the spot! Parking was a breeze since it's located in a plaza with a designated lot.
google avatar

Thea M.

Yelp
I Love coming to Compa coffee after a morning hike! They offer a variety of options for breakfast, toasts and sandwiches, vegan treats, and great coffee! Service is always pleasant and quick. My favorite sandwich is the jimmy jr sandwich. Compa always has great speciality drinks on deck and fresh roasted beans to purchase. You can sit inside or outside, but you must stop by to try!
google avatar

Alyssa S.

Yelp
They're so nice here, and the atmosphere and patio are relaxing! The beans they used for their espresso drinks this time seemed different than the last time I came. They told me it was a blend of Ethiopia and Mexico, and I wonder if in the past it had just been central American beans, which I usually prefer. So I did not love my latte as much as the last two times. But it was made with care. And I loved the banana Chia pudding that I got for the first time. Very delicious, reasonable, and healthier than if I got one of their very delicious biscuits lol!
google avatar

Ashlee M.

Yelp
The coffee and matcha drinks were great. Although the place was busy it did not take long for them to bring the food and drinks out. The staff is very friendly and were so kind to my baby. They also have an outdoor play area for kids
google avatar

Steph L.

Yelp
Parking - lots of parking shared with other businesses. When you come off the freeway you have to make a left at the light and then a left into the center. Drive to the far corner near the Pizza Hut/pho shop. You can order ahead on their website. Check their instagram for monthly specialty drinks. Order at the register and take a number if eating in. They have inside and outside seating. Tried: 9-5 breakfast biscuit - the prosciutto was beyond crispy and into burnt level. It was really hard and chewy. Biscuit itself was good, although the bottom fell apart as it wasn't cut quite evenly in the middle leaving more bread on top than the bottom. Glen coco - the cold brew had a bad after taste that couldn't be saved by the coconut. Love potion - pretty sure this was supposed to have a whipped topping based on the description but it didn't. Taste was okay.
google avatar

Bryan C.

Yelp
I go to Compa coffee almost every day before I go to work nearby. They offer much better coffee than the national chains and their delicious savory breakfast items always hitting the spot. They are usually busy between 7-9 but their staff work quickly so I never had to wait. good place to recommend people who are in the Rancho Bernardo area.
google avatar

Leah B.

Yelp
We stopped in Compa on our drive up north and it was conveniently not too far off the freeway. I tried the Grinch, which is one of their seasonal drinks combining peppermint and matcha. IT WAS DELICIOUS. This was such a unique combo and it pairs so nicely! My partner got a Salted Maple latte quad shot and it was really good. Not overly sweet at all and good quality coffee. Service was quick and we were able to get back to our drive! We'll definitely pop back another time to try their food and check out the sunny patio.
google avatar

Bahareh B.

Yelp
yes to their coffee and great service. Nice outside sitting area. I will definitely go back
google avatar

Tammie W.

Yelp
Compa is conveniently located in RB off the 15 so you don't have to drive too far off the beaten path to grab a cup of coffee. We went on a Saturday morning and it was slammed. The two entrances led to confusion by many who entered the building, not knowing where the line ended or began. I ordered an iced dirty chai with almond while the hubby ordered an iced vanilla latte with almond milk. I didn't love or hate my drink but wish the chai were stronger and they wouldn't put cinnamon on top as a garnish of an iced drink, which made the taste off putting and bitter. My husband's latte was fine, though not very strong or coffee forward. The space is big, every table inside and out on the patio was filled which is always good to see that a business is thriving.
google avatar

Amanda J.

Yelp
I stopped by for breakfast with a friend and ordered a mocha and avocado toast. I enjoyed both. The avocado toast has dijon mustard which was a first for me. I was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. I tried my friend's vegan sandwich (Jimmy Pesto Toast) and that was even better than the avocado toast. I loved the flavor combination of the sandwich. We received really good service. Everyone was really friendly. They have both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a perfect spot to grab breakfast with a friend. I'll definitely be coming back for the sandwich and to try some more options on their menu.
google avatar

Rosa M.

Yelp
Came here on a quick lunch break and was glad to have found this gem. There was plenty of seating indoors and we were immediately greeted by friendly staff. They have a lot of options for coffee and food on the menu and they were super kind in not making us feel rushed in deciding what to order and even provided some recommendations. I went with the iced dark mocha which was delicious and very well balanced. I also got the brie jam toast and it was super delicious!! It wasn't too sweet and it was a perfect combination. Service was fast and I like that there is a water station.
google avatar

Beth B.

Yelp
Needed to add another review about this excellent coffee shop in Rancho Bernardo. The owner and staff truly care about good coffee with excellent customer service. Support small business.
google avatar

Nancy T.

Yelp
Stopped in for my morning brew while waiting for the bank to open nearby. I really loved how spacious it was from the door to the counter to order. It didn't leave you feeling crammed while waiting in line to order. There's a fresh ambiance with a blend of merch, indoor plants, and seating that makes it welcoming for anyone looking to spend more time than just a quick coffee run. I had tried the ice honey cinnamon latte with oat milk and their P.A.A.T Sandwich on sourdough. (IT WAS AMAZING!) I'm usually not a sandwich for breakfast kinda gal, but their twist on the BLT on sourdough definitely brightened my morning. It paired well with my drink and I was quite surprised by the nice flavor that the Dijon mustard gave. Also not a big fan of mustard but it wasn't overpowering. The seating was comfortable and I was able to get many emails answered when I was there. It's a nice place to try if you're in the area.
google avatar

Danica V.

Yelp
Good local coffee shop is RB. Open space to get work done or just catch up. No frizz. Solid iced americano
google avatar

Steven Binh N.

Yelp
Was looking for a quick coffee after getting some bagels. I was greeted at the front after a compliment of my spam shirt I had on. Menu had a lot of options and the was my first time here. So I tried the San Diego 1&1 which has two different espressos one hot and one iced. I sat down and my order was brought to home fairly quickly. I first took a sip of the hot one, typical tasting espressso shot, I sipped some water to cleanse the palate, then took a sip of the iced one, and oh my this tasted so great. Checked the menu it was an iced cubano and tasted fantastic. After the two great tasting espressos I didn't need anything to get my day going. Glad I found this little spot, and I'll be back for more. Also tables and seating inside are available and the overall feel, it gives comfy cafe vibes. I'll be back !
google avatar

siri g.

Yelp
Went there on a Sunday morning and it was very busy which wasn't surprising. My latte was good, service was also good. I ordered a bagel with cream cheese but I'd expected them to spread the cheese on the bagel but I had to do it myself
google avatar

Ivanna O.

Yelp
I've been here a couple times or just drinks but this time I decided to get some lunch as well because when I walked in the first thing I noticed was the aroma of good food cooking in the back. The girl on the counter was friendly and attentive, and my food was brought to my table by one of the cooks. The paat sandwich is a generous portion and so bomb. The crispy, prosciutto and tangy mustard hit the spot and they even add a little drizzle of olive oil on the sourdough. It's essentially a fancy BLT and I highly recommend. And of course, my drink was great. Not too sweet like I like it.
google avatar

Anna P.

Yelp
Such a cute aesthetic! Had a Valentines themed latte and was very content with the quality/flavor. Sometimes those specialty lattes can really suck and then leave you disappointed... not this one! The toasts were to die for! Also, everyone else's food looked so good I'm excited to come back and try more food options! Cute outdoor seating and free wifi so you can hang out and do some work. Staff was super friendly and I will definitely be coming back for more.
google avatar

Yasmeen E.

Yelp
What a lovely gem in Rancho Bernardo!! RB is so overdue for a nice local coffee shop. The turkey melt bagel was sooo good, I absolutely loved that the pesto was spicy. The pumpkin loaf wasn't my favorite but I think it may have been gluten free. We ordered a coffee, chai latte, matcha latte, and peppermint hot chocolate. All the drinks were really good; no complaints! Staff were great and kind. Such a cute space. I had no idea it existed and they opened 1.5 years ago!
google avatar

Mariecris H.

Yelp
Almost perfect! Wish the sizes were a little bigger on the coffee for dine in. The coffee was good besides being not enough. Service was fast and easy. Ambiance is simple. But i like simple things in life.
google avatar

Emma N.

Yelp
This has been a favorite spot for a long time now. My go to is their B-side. I've also tried their banana chia and the 9-5 biscuit sando. Both of which are soooo good. The prices are very reasonable too. Great customer service, my only complaint is that I wish they opened earlier!

Kailah B.

Yelp
Great spot to meet with friends or get work done! I had maple latte with almond milk and it was great! I got one of their biscuit breakfast dishes, it was yummy but it was on the heavier side I might try their avocado toasts next time!
google avatar

Carolyn C.

Yelp
Really good food and good coffee. I ordered the s'mores latte with oat milk. It wasn't too sweet but tasted soo good! I also got the 9-5 breakfast sandwhich and it was made so fresh and was so flavorful. I didn't have to wait longhorn items. Service was friendly and quick. And the interior was clean. I'd come back and recommend!
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
Solid coffee with great service. In a random area but glad we found it. Salted maple was good, not too sweet. Dirty chai was also very well done!
google avatar

Jennifer A.

Yelp
Love this neighborhood Coffee roaste, the place is so beautiful, the coffee and pastries so delicious and the staff is really friendly, I enjoyed my pour over and asked for a side of steamed oat milk.... Thanks for that oh ya, and the biscuit and jam is so fresh :)

Kira O.

Yelp
Delicious food and coffee, plenty of gluten free and vegan/vegetarian options. Service was wonderful & friendly & the atmosphere was welcoming. I recommend this place to everyone I know :)
google avatar

Dana R.

Yelp
Second time visiting. The first time they had just opened and the menu for food was limited. Today they had so many options I was interested in that it was hard to choose! Ultimately I settled on the fireside coffee which was an oat milk latte with hints of rosemary and brown sugar. Refreshing and interesting. I also chose the Brie toast. That was a huge piece of thick crusty bread with Brie melted on top and mango habanero jam. The heat from the jam was intense but the Brie played well with it. The ambience is fun, bright, cheerful. Everyone working seemed to enjoy going there and the place was full of patrons. This is in a busy location and parking might be an issue but you should check it out!
