We had a wonderful experience here hosting a baby shower. The staff was so accommodating and willing to work with us! Food was delicious (as usual!). We received so many compliments-highly recommend as an event space!

Google
The food is great. Very loud. Parking in that area as a whole isn't good. I'm definitely going back, though, for the food.

Google
My first choice always!! Food is amazing - the Brussel Sprout salad is my favorite - Heather and Noah make you feel at home and are wonderful... My go to for dinner - appetizers and drinks - hosting a party or any occasion!

This is a real nice place located in Fairport, New York. So this restaurant is really nice. Inside has a huge bar in the district of lots of things going on in Fairport staff was very friendly. The food was good.

We might have found our favorite restaurant in Rochester. The food and drinks were phenomenal, and outside seating were just a vibe! 10/10 would recommend.

Google
We had the best date we’ve had in a while starting the night off at this restaurant. The food was amazing!! Our waiter did a wonderful job as well. The wood fired oysters are a must try. Their octopus special was our favorite of the evening. Will be returning for sure!!

Google
Just hosted my daughter's bridal shower here and it was outstanding across the board! The food, the space and the service (Casey and staff) were top tier! HIGHLY recommend!!

Google
Food was fantastic, everything tasted great, but the service was very slow. Will definitely come back but just expect to be there for a while.

Yelp
Excellent meal! We love coming here. Parking can be tricky when there are events at other businesses so leave time to find a spot. The building is accessible for wheelchairs/walkers as are the 4 unisex bathrooms. There is a little dip in the floor when going from the dining spaces to the bathrooms, so have caution. The space is very open with high ceilings and a large bar that can get noisy and make it hard to have conversations, but also watch a little tv and unwind. The Hostess station is located just to the right inside the main door. We were early for our 6:45pm reservation on a Friday night and we were seated right away. I definitely recommend reservations. A lovely carafe of cucumber water was brought to the table right away. Noah came by shortly afterwards to take our drink order and explain the menu & specials. We each ordered a salad and a main dish. Hubby had a glass of Chianti, a Cesar salad, and the Veal Milanese. He loved it! Salt and pepper are not on the table but Noah brought hubby some on request. The wooden container swings open to reveal 3 cups, one each for salt, pepper and red pepper flakes with a little spoon to serve. Very cute! I ordered the house salad and the salmon. The salad was fresh with just the right amount of dressing. The salmon was outstanding. They grill it to a medium center and I loved the crispy edges and grilled lemon on the side. I was surprised at the edamame & chickpea risotto - it was sooo delicious and simple. The cucumber yogurt pulled everything together and I think this dish is my new favorite. Noah was efficient friendly and checked on us often without being intrusive. Neither of us had room for dessert. All desserts except the cheesecake are housemade so maybe next time we will save some room (even though we skipped an appetizer thinking we were saving room today, sigh). We will be back!

Yelp
We had the nicest evening at this restaurant. It's a hidden gem. Kristen out waitress was so helpful, funny, and great at her job. I had the scallops, incredible, my companion had veal parmesan, he loved it. The decor is so warm and inviting. We will be back!

Yelp
Great service, nice location. - nice bar area - great ambiance for hanging out or date night. - outdoor seating is ideal for when all the festivals are in town I really enjoyed all the dishes. It's a little pricey but they give generous portions. I felt the primi and secondi plates could be split between two people. - blue crab on toast was really good. Not fishy and very flavorful - the fried calamari was spot on perfection. I'd come back just for that again and again. - the gnocchi and pasta dishes were fantastic. You can tell it's all freshly made.

Yelp
My group and I have been here several times and were always happy with our food and service. I don't know what happened. Bread was pale, lifeless, no taste. Chicken parm was too thick, extremely tough, very overcooked, and dry. Pasta Bolognese was bland and dry, Brussels sprouts salad, which we always loved, was soggy and tasteless. Even the Bananas Foster was a huge disappointment. I have rarely left a dessert uneaten...this was a first. Overall, only 1 in 5 at our party had a decent meal (salmon). We all left disappointed, and will not be going back. Pros: fantastic waiter (Noah) Cons: nearly everything

Yelp
We order compane trattoria as a food option at preservation brewing. We have been there for dinner before and thought there pizzas would be great. The pizza came hot and had good flavor. The issues we had was for the price there was too much crust and not enough toppings. For the price, we were surprised to see they were a little light on topping and we had so much crust. I think next time, we will not get them to go.

Dennis E.

Yelp
Most everything was good, except this place charges $2.00 extra for the larger ice cube in drinks on the rocks! YOU MUST BE KIDDING ME!!!! The waitress never informed us on either round of the up charge. It is bad enough that they slap a 3% service charge for using credit cards, now charging for ICE!

B T.

Yelp
Pretty good food! Delicious arancini, and perfect table oil and vinegar. Mezzaluna had wonderfully strong lemon flavor, although water-logged. Wouldn't recommend for a date or more relaxing atmosphere. Ambiance wasn't great, brightly lit, and loud dated (but not retro-fun) music, and outdated decor. Service was certainly kind but not very attentive and not always professional. There's a fee for use of credit card, which is clearly stated on the menu to avoid any surprise.

Yelp
This place has some really delicious pastas. All the different sauces are so good and the noodles are fun! The bar area is really pretty too.
google avatar

Marissa M.

Yelp
The place itself is very nice and the owner is SO nice. Loved sitting outside, the owner was so friendly and checked in with us a couple times making sure everything was good! The food was good but nothing to write home about. I was not very impressed with the arancini which was so disappointing, I wish it came with red sauce instead. Vodka sauce pasta had a LOT of pancetta, it overwhelmed the whole dish. Also my friends ordered the chicken French and they were very surprised that it only had one chicken breast instead of 2 so they were disappointed with that one.
google avatar

Kayla B.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious meal from start to finish. Definitely a nice place for a special occasion, pricey but for good reason! Service was quick, food was incredible and location is awesome.

Yelp
Hands down best burger I have had in my life. Sat outside and the vibe was great. Service was good. Will be back again.

Yelp
Amazing food amazing service 5/5 definitely going again. I got 2 pizzas and the vodka pasta and it was mouth watering.

Yelp
We had a reservation & were seated promptly when we got there. Service was slow but they were friendly. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was to die for. I had the veal parmigiana & my husband the chicken. Portions were large but it was like warm. I was very disappointed by the apple crisp. It is cooked in the cast iron skillet in their pizza oven but there oats were chewy & uncooked. The flavor was strange & the best part was the homemade whipped cream. It is loud inside. We will go back but not on the top of my list

Yelp
I decided to check out Compané and I ordered bolognese with what I thought was Chicken, beef and pork, but I only saw two chunks of beef. When the lady came out and handed me the bag and it felt like a feather I knew I was going to be upset. You can not charge almost $30 for basically a weight watcher meal. If you are going to charge these prices "Fill it up" and put a piece of bread in there. I definitely won't be back and it's a shame because the food tasted good, but it was so little. And let's talk about the dessert menu $12-15 for a piece of cake? Since when? As soon as I felt my dinner I put the dessert menu right down. Do better than that people.

Yelp
We went to this place at their old location a couple years ago. I probably would have given it a 2 or 3 star. We had the pizza, and were not big fans of the crust. This was our first trip to the new location. We decided to try the pasta this time. The pasta was amazing. If I were to go back, I would definitely stick to pasta, although I am tempted to see if the quality of the pizza has changed. We went on a Tuesday night around 6:30 without reservations and they were able to seat us right away. From the bread (salty bread!!!) to the appetizer to the entrees it all exceeded our expectations, especially after our first visit. Staff was friendly. Which helped with the experience. It's close to two breweries and iron smoke distillery. So the location is very convenient for a night out.

Yelp
Great food and service! Order was taken care of when there was a miscommunication about menu item. Only problem was loudness that at times was deafening
google avatar

Alannah D.

Yelp
We had another great time at Compane for a date night. We ordered gluten free pasta and pizza, both were great! Our server Kristen knew the menu well and was helpful in finding gluten-free dishes. Excited to go back again!
google avatar

Jamie B.

Yelp
When here for a date night while in town. Very large inside seating area and there is even an outside patio where dogs are allowed. They have a creative cocktail list and we both tried the two each and they were very tasty. Dinner comes with complementary bread which was very good. For an appetizer we got the meatballs, they were amazing and we both said we could have had another 3 plates of them. For dinner my husband got the lobster Mac and cheese which he said was good just wished there was more lobster and I got the vodka pasta which was very flavorful. Service was good and everyone was friendly. I would definitely come back if in the area again. Perfect date night spot.
google avatar

Lauron T.

Yelp
We tried Compane for the first time and it did not disappoint! The customer service was impeccable and the food was delicious. We ordered two glasses of wine and the meatballs to start. We devoured the meatballs; they were tender and juicy and so flavorful. I ordered the bolognese and my boyfriend ordered the vodka pasta. For dessert, we shared the brownie and OH MY GOD it was unbelievably chocolately. It comes in a cast iron pan and it fresh out of the oven. It was so freaking delicious. Our only issue is that we couldn't finish it! We were so stuffed from our app and entrees that we left some of it behind. Atmosphere: vivacious - some live music going; outdoor seating which would be perfect in the summer Price: 4/5 Tastiness: 5/5 Service: 5/5 (we had Noah as our server, he was so funny and genuine)

Yelp
Read the reviews before eating here last Friday. Sounded good. People raved about the Arincini. Ordered them, no thank you; what happened to the crispy outer layer? Bland inner portion. Bread bought to the table, was underwhelming. We ordered 2 main pasta dishes. Both pastas needed at least 3 minutes to reach el denté. Waitress was sweet, but what happened to my salad with the dressing on the side? What was happening in the kitchen that evening? I try to not complain at restaurants; it puts a damper on the evening. Though after reading my own review, I see how disappointing our meal was. Not going back.
google avatar

Steven M.

Yelp
Bit on expensive side but everything was very good for our party of 3. I would wish for more complete meal, the salad was extra, large, and would have rather a small salad that was included with the meal.

Florine E.

Yelp
I would have given them 4 stars as the food and the service was good. But who charges for ICE these days!!We were charged $2.00 per "King Cube" in our drinks. Really?? Give me regular ice cubes or tell me ahead of time, you charge for "King Cubes" !!! And was charged for Anchovies on my Caesar Salad! Really??? In case you didn't know, a Caesar salad at Great Restaurant should include anchovies !! Ridiculous.....
google avatar

Rebecca L.

Yelp
The service was outstanding. I was blown away. Andrew was our server and honestly I won't be served by anyone else but him again. He is an asset to this company. Food was also amazing. I got the gnocchi and was cooked perfectly.
google avatar

Beth F.

Yelp
Went in solo...big mistake. Waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by the bartender, Rachel. Then had to flag down to try to ask questions about pizzas. Felt completely disregarded and not part of the process. Finally ordered...then had to wait 10 minutes to get a glass of wine.. I'm sad...we have Joe gatts and porterhouse where they are on their game with customer service..... Thank goodness! Walked out!

Yelp
What can I say? I was hesitant, at first. I had looked at the menu beforehand and nothing jumped out at me. I'm picky and don't like much outside of my burgers!! Well, there were 6 of us that night. By the time we said our hello's, had our first glass of wine, it was time to order. I picked the chicken parm, others were more adventurous. OMG, this was the best I've had in a very long time. The rest of us were also quite happy! This place isn't cheap, but we all thought it was worth it! As they say, serve great food and they will come. SO GO! (A little tip - if you're wine drinkers, buy a bottle - if they'll do that. A little expensive by the glass!)

B B.

Yelp
Everything was fantastic! The Bolognese and the Chicken Parm were amazing! Very nice outdoor seating. New waitress, but she was very nice and checked in regularly. Bread and dipping oil to start were great, too. It was a little pricey, but most places are these days. Thank you, Compane!
google avatar

Brenna L.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant! So delicious and the staff is so friendly! Can't go wrong with any pizza or house made pasta! Also, don't forget the chicken wings, my favorite! Can't recommend enough!
google avatar

Rachel S.

Yelp
The food lacks flavor. It tastes ok but it's all just missing something. I've had a a couple of their garlic oil based pizzas, and a red pizza. The flavors are there, but it's just lacking. For that reason I think it's overpriced.

Mark B.

Yelp
Food was incredible, everything fresh and made in house. The atmosphere was great, with a large bar area and outdoor seating. Service was good. Pizza oven is a nice touch. The fresh, homemade pasta was incredible, very few places do that nowadays. Overall, great experience.
google avatar

Richard K.

Yelp
Everything is homemade. The bread on the table, the pastas, pizzas, sauces, spreads and dips. The beer selection features many local brews on draft. The menu selection has something for everyone, and our dishes were attractive and delicious. The room is large and spacious, and if it gets loud there are rooms in the back that are quiet. The owner is on premises and his son is the chef in the kitchen. Everything is just a treat.

Yelp
It's Friday! Great night to relax & unwind & enjoy a fun dining experience. I made a 6 pm online reservation. On our arrival at 6 pm on a Friday evening, many booths/tables were vacant. The hostess seated us at an awkward table for two, with a booth bench & a regular chair, main traffic area. As the table was too low & very uncomfortable when sitting on the booth bench, I requested a different table. The hostess shared this was the only table for us. The a la carte menu was very limited. I enjoyed the house salad. My husband did not enjoy his Caesar salad - it was missing something for the tastebuds. I did not enjoy the very dry eggplant milanese. The 3 eggplant slices were not main entree size but rather appetizer size. My husband did not enjoy the pasta bolognese. The pasta did not taste homemade. If it was homemade, it was not fresh. The server was pleasant & provided average service. Before leaving, several tables continued to remain vacant. We shared our disappointment with our server and the owner's father when asked how everything was, after our dining experience. At that time, we were offered a complimentary dessert, to bring us something else to eat, and they apologized for this unfortunate dining experience. We gracefully declined the complimentary dessert or additional food. As we very much enjoyed dining at the original Compane, we arrived excited for a new dining experience at their new location. Unfortunately, this experience did not meet the positive dining experiences of the old location.

Yelp
The people were obnoxiously loud, I could not hear even my own voice. Food was amazing, staff was great.
google avatar

Bob A.

Yelp
We went for a small family outing yesterday at 5pm opening time and had great service and food. As other reviewers mention, don't turn on Parce Ave but go 2 driveways south to the large parking lot serving multiple businesses. It fills up fast on weekends. Lots of craft cocktails and beers got us off to a great start. Our 6 adults shared 3 apps: stuffed bread, calamari, and meatballs. All were generous and tasty. For mains we had bolognaise, gnocchi, grouper and more and I heard nothing but compliments. Service was not rushed and we finished a great meal in just under the two hour table window including desert. We had a well-napped and behaved 3 year old with us and staff was particularly accommodating with plenty of bread and butter, spaghetti with a butter sauce, and ice cream. Nicely welcomed c

Yelp
Not a bad place to stop for lunch or dinner. Think a slightly more upscale Ferrari's Pizza. This place serves typical Italian menu items - pizza, pasta, arancini, chicken parmesan, etc. They spice it up a bit with food items like duck confit and lobster. The service was great, very attentive and helpful. We ended up seated at their smallest table - a consequence of how busy they were. A few of the staff helped us level out table to make it more comfortable. Wine options were satisfactory - nothing special but enjoyable enough. The atmosphere was a bit cramped and loud, being such an open space filled to the brim as it was. We had their clam casino dip, spinach gemelli with duck confit, and lobster mezzalune. The clam casino dip was delicious! How has no one else thought of that?? I would recommend a visit just for that. The entrees could have benefited from a little more flavor. There wasn't a lot of sauce or spices in either it seemed. Perfectly enjoyable, just not what we anticipated with such high end ingredients. Overall, a worthwhile stop. But it seems the restaurant is still trying to figure out how to brand itself. The website makes it feel more upscale than it is, which led to some disappointment because it didn't live up to that expectation, but some brand clarity would fix that.

Jeff S.

Yelp
One of my wife's favorites. When we have out of town company compane is always our first choice. If it's the two of us we have a drink and eat at the bar. I highly recommend their food and the wine selection is way above standard wine lists.
google avatar

Brianna J.

Yelp
The Brussels sprouts here are to die for, great cocktails and classy vibes. Love it here !!
google avatar

Marissa N.

Yelp
The service was very good, quick, attentive and friendly. The parking stunk, but I hear they are moving across the street, that would be nice. I thought the pizzas were dry. I had sweet potato gnocchi which was good, even better with some parmesan and red pepper flakes.

Phillip F.

Yelp
Solid Italian in an upscale atmosphere. In my opinion the menu is too limited in entree items and the expensive individual pizzas are not what I'm looking for in this type of restaurant. Our whole party ended up ordering parmigiana veal chicken and eggplant all were solid served over fresh spaghetti. More variety would earn another star.
google avatar

Steph G.

Yelp
Compane quickly rose through the Rochester Italian food-ranks to nab the #1 spot in my heart and belly. Their hand-made pasta and sauces are the best I've had locally. Worth the trip to Fairport (plus, so many other fun spots to check out in the Cannery!).
google avatar

Karina E.

Yelp
So far the pizza from here has been the winner for us. On this particular date we also ordered the spaghetti. It's huge!!! It was also tasty. We shared this and also took some home. Definitely give them a try. We aren't wine people but we did notice several others going for their wine.
google avatar

Yelp
Went here on a Friday night and the place was packed. We'd been here once before and wasn't very impressed with the food, but that was a while ago and I wanted to give it another shot. The ambiance is very trendy/upscale. Our waitress was fabulous, so nice and checked in multiple times. The cocktail I ordered was scrumptious. However, the food was just "meh" for us. Sort of bland and much overpriced. I actually enjoyed Compane more before they changed locations--I just remember the food being tastier. We probably won't go back, at least not for a meal since the prices are too high for the food you're served. I would, however, go back to sit at the bar and enjoy a drink.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
My cousin and I stopped here on a whim before an appointment, trying to avoid greasy bar food, and to eat in a reasonable time frame on a Wednesday evening. We were able to sit outside, on their front patio. The server was aware of our time crunch (1 hour, 20 mins), and successfully moved dinner along so we had the perfect amount of time to enjoy our meal without rushing. The waitress brought me a glass of sauvignon blanc quickly, and bread accompanied with olive oil dipping sauce. We both ordered pizzas, and they arrived within 30 minutes. I had the Fiora drive pizza, a white base with mushrooms and ricotta, and he had the Fairport Music Festival, loaded with meat, shrimp and a red sauce. The Fiora drive was decent. It was tasty but didn't blow me away. The Fairport Music Festival was interesting, but I think because it has a lot of toppings, it needed to stay in the oven a little longer to prevent undercooking the bottom. In the future I would order a pasta dish to get a feel for some of their other menu items. I would also request to sit outside again, because the interior was very loud, even on a Wednesday night. My high rating was based on the service, and the food was mediocre. It served our needs at the time, and it was nice to enjoy the sunshine.

Yelp
This is the first time we've been here since they moved. The new place is incredible. Lots of space and very well laid out. The bar area is nice and is probably packed in the early evenings/weekends. We were greeted warmly when we entered. We didn't have reservations, but it was later in the evening and we were immediately seated. Our waitress was friendly, helpful and attentive. Our meals were good. My wife had the wedge salad and the arancini. There's not much you can say about a wedge salad - it was green, but the arancini was incredible! There red sauce is delicious and I'd highly recommend trying. My daughter had the lobster mezzaluna - I didn't try any but she said it was good. My son had the vodka sauce with the same feedback. I had the woodside drive pizza. It sounded unique and was really very good. The honey made it a bit too sweet for my taste, but worth a try. The issues I had with the visit. The menu is very small and the prices are high. The ravioli came with 6 small ravioli and cost $28. The other meals were also pricey. With no drinks - dinner for 4 was over $100. Now I don't mind paying high prices for good food with great service - especially when supporting local establishments - but the kick in the head on this one was on top of all that, they charged an extra $3.2% credit card fee! I don't know the reason for that, but I do know I won't be going back because of that. There are multiple other local places in the same parking lot that don't charge extra fees that we'll be giving our business to.
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
If you go by the hours listed on Yelp one might think the place is closed today. Never rely on that information as it's Sunday and they are open for Brunch. Also, if you use a maping system for directions, you may get routed to the backside of the restaurant. Take note, use the public parking lot on the other side of Parce Ave, where the front door of location is. This is my third visit to the new location and it should have been a charm.....*should have. After 8 minutes to have water brought to the table and 10 more minutes after that we had to go ask hostess what was acceptable wait for service? The place was not busy. 1st section just past bar had one 2-top occupied. The second front seating area had 2 occupied 4-tops with 2 people at each table. Yet, we got an excuse of, you were lost in the shuffle. The "shuffle"? Must be the great card game happening in the back of the house, cause the place was empty of customers otherwise. From serving consistency of food items, the sharable cinnamon & sugar knots have decreased in size and quantity. These are the things that stand out when you consider a return visit. Food is only one factor. How you are welcomed and served makes a huge difference when dining out.

Jake N.

Yelp
Hey Yelp, can we add an option for 0 stars? Who does compane think they are? 20 dollar deposits per person for reservations?? What is this a 5 star Michelin Restaurant? You serve average to above average Italian food in a small town in western New York? AND a 3% fee for paying with a credit card? What a disgrace to have this place in fairport. If you want to get Nickel and dimed for average food, head on over to compane!!
google avatar

Robert A.

Yelp
Had an awesome experience at Compane for my birthday dinner. The restaurant is beautiful and features high ceilings and plenty of open space. I would imagine this would be a great place to host an event. Our server Noah was fantastic. You could tell he has passion for delivering quality service and he did just that. He brought us incredible appetizers (Meatballs and aranchini), and then a chicken parm that was delicious and so filling. This plus a pint from other half brewing was plenty satisfying for a birthday dinner. Highly recommend

Yelp
This place just didn't do it for us... right off the bat, we had a super wobbly tiny table so we asked to be switched to another. Hostess said the other 2 open tables were being used for a reservation.. table was still empty when we left an hour later... anyways, calamari & pizza were good, pasta was super dry. Ended up taking most of the pasta home so we could add our own sauce later on- atmosphere is okay- loud & kind of a weird warehouse setting for an Italian place. Maybe I'm comparing it to the old location. Waitress was very sweet & our food came out quick... but we won't be back.
google avatar

Alah M.

Yelp
All I have to say is that vodka sauce they have there is life changing. The homemade noodles are amazing as well but the sauce is just on another level.
google avatar

Megan K.

Yelp
I've always visited places in the same area and have always wanted to try here for dinner. It was easy to make a reservation online and when I walked in, the atmosphere was modern and fresh yet cozy with a beautiful bar when you walk in. There is also plenty of outdoor seating. Our waiter was awesome, very friendly and knowledgeable, able to make many recommendations about the menu. My friend and I both ordered the vodka pasta which had pancetta which was salty and crispy. The sauce was creamy and the portion was large enough to have leftovers. We enjoyed the experience and the food was delicious.
