I recently attended a coffee appreciation workshop by Compound Coffee, and truly enjoyed the experience. The trainer was extremely knowledgeable and shared deep insights into the characteristics of different coffee beans, origins, and processing methods.
What I found particularly valuable was the opportunity to taste the same coffee beans brewed using different methods — French press, AeroPress, pour-over, espresso, and even white coffee. It was fascinating to experience how brewing techniques can completely transform flavour profile, body, and acidity.
We also had a hands-on cupping session, where we explored the different dimensions of fragrance (dry aroma) and aroma (wet aroma). Being guided through the sensory process really helped me understand how professionals evaluate coffee.
Overall, this workshop is highly recommended for anyone interested in specialty coffee, whether you are a beginner or already passionate about exploring flavour nuances. It deepened my appreciation for coffee and gave me a more structured way to think about tasting.
