Nice place. Very friendly staff and beautiful aesthetic. Spent 2 dollars for a concha and definitely going back to try more food. It’s very fresh and nice. Took down a star because the WiFi kicks you out after two hours so if you want to work make sure you budget your time. Other than that it’s a really great place and

A great coffee shop with amazing ambience. It has a Mexican twist to its flavor. We got white chocolate mocha and cold chocolate. The Mecca was good and a bit sweet to my taste and the chocolate drink has a good hint of cinnamon. Overall a great experience.

Breakfast was really good and worth the money. Presentation and the restaurant vibe was perfect. Coffee was excellent. Will definitely be back for more and try the different drinks they have.

Google
Very cute coffee shop, but it's just okay. The staff is super friendly, but the customer base is a little rude. Or maybe it's that there are too few tables and ONE bathroom for an establishment that serves food. Most people get and leave without picking up their trays, and the staff is busy, so it makes for even fewer tables.

Google
Con Azúcar Café is a hidden gem in San Jose! The drinks are delicious, the vibes are cozy, and the staff is super friendly. All their coffee drinks are a must-try, and the decor makes it a perfect spot to chill or work. Definitely coming back for more sweet moments!

Google
This local coffee shop is such a treat. I loved the speciality latte coffee with Frida on it. The food portions are generous and easy to share the avocado toast with someone. Add the egg. The staff is friendly and it’s a hidden gem in downtown. They also have some yummy concha’s. 10/10

Google
Excellent drinks! I got the pumpkin spice latte and it did not disappoint, worth a try before it’s taken off the menu since it is a seasonal drink. My friend got the horchata latte and she said it was super delicious as well! The inside was very gorgeous and aesthetically pleasing to the eye. There is a very cute swing with a leafy/flowery background next to the entrance for some good photo ops. Overall great drinks, gorgeous environment, and amazing experience!

Google
Luckily I came on a slower day. This IG hot spot serves refreshing drinks and small plates (sandwiches and pastries) in addition to coffees. There are half a dozen tables with outlets for plugs and USBs. As the weather warms up I believe they will set out a few tables outside. This is a fun spot. Get in when you can. Support a local business!

Yelp
By no means am I a Concha expert, so take this review from a person who's only have had it a few times in his life. We got the giant Concha with the big cup of coffee and it was great. For as big as the Concha was, the inside was fairly moist. You would think it would lose some of that with size but nope, it was delicious. As for the outer crust, it was nice and crunchy. It had a beautiful crackle to it. Staff were super nice and diligent. Space was clean but limited, probably four parties of four or five can fit within the indoor tables. I believe the bill came down to $85 for the giant concha and coffee? Which split between six people is about $15 each. Totally doable and totally affordable for the novelty. Would def come back here and grab a giant Concha for parties. Oh and yes they sell smaller Conchas too!

Yelp
You could probably go through the Starbucks drive through five times in the time it takes the staff here to make a regular black coffee. Probably have better service as well, and that's saying a lot. Staff here have one mode of operation, and it isn't fast and friendly. Food. Overpriced and unpleasant. I had avocado toast, my husband had the BLT. The toast had a weird vinegar taste to it. Almost like something was served past its prime, sour tasting. I only had a couple bites, I was done. The BLT wasn't bad, just really not worth the price tag. We both had refreshers for beverages and they both were good, albeit way overpriced. The kicker was my husband wanted a black coffee to go after we ate. It took over ten minutes to get that. Definitely don't recommend, and with all the issues, we won't be back.

Yelp
If you come here on a Saturday be prepared to wait over 40 minutes for a basic coffee Starbucks makes better. Unfortunately the ambiance is nice but the food and quality of drinks is not there. I'd like to see where they get the products from the brand Natures best is that the half and half milk is low quality!

Yelp
I visited this location for the first time yesterday and was left disappointed. One major issue was the lack of a phone number to contact the location, which could have saved me time and frustration. My wife had pre-ordered a Rosca de Reyes through social media, but when we arrived, we were met with several problems. The parking was nonexistent, the line was long, and the menu was limited. To make matters worse, they didn't have the Rosca de Reyes we had ordered and paid for. The staff informed us that they outsource their baking to a third-party vendor, and the delivery was running late. As someone who values authentic food and good service, I was disappointed by the experience. If you're looking for authentic baked goods made to order, you might want to consider an alternative. I'd recommend checking out Pink Elephant, which is just a 10-minute drive away. They offer instant service, a wider menu, and delicious Champurado. Overall, my experience at this location was disappointing, and I would caution others to be aware of the potential "issues."

Yelp
Well damn! This place needs to be on your "Things to do in San Jose" list. The drinks are the best "Mexican flavored" themed drinks I've ever had. I had their mazapan latte with oat milk. Wow! Best ever. The chai is made from real chai tea, not some syrupy concentrate. Their cafe de olla is slightly sweet and still has plenty of coffee flavor and their pepino con limon agua...dude. It's perfect! I hate to gush over everything but their service was also wonderful and the atmosphere of the place was just as great. Seriously. Come here. Buy everything and walk away happy. I'd drive 6hrs from LA just for mazapan latte.

Yelp
Drinks were delicious. Food was fresh and very tasty. Service was professional and friendly.

Yelp
We stopped by Con Azúcar while visiting family in San Jose, and it was such a great find! The staff were incredibly kind and welcoming! There was a line out the door when we arrived and the wait was totally worth it--both the food and coffee were absolutely delicious! The café itself is beautifully decorated, and you can really appreciate the artistry in both the food presentation and the decor. It has such a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfect for a cozy stop during our trip. I'll definitely be coming back next time we're in town! Highly recommend!

Yelp
Fresh Concha's and a warm Cafecito with our favorite Mexican Singer Chente!!!! They have outdoor and indoor seating, nice decor but bad customer service by the staff at the register.
google avatar

Ian V.

Yelp
My wife and sister dragged us from SF to check this IG place out. What you don't see on IG is that it's seriously lacking seating, which doesn't make sense because they do in fact serve giant concha's ($44) and a giant bowl of coffee ($40). This is a local HANG OUT spot, so the few tables available were taken by locals with laptops. We waited for a while and left frustrated. I suggested they set a time limit on weekends, as we were not the only ones standing around waiting. Over-hyped and over rated by social media for a photogenic gimmick.

Yelp
If you're looking for a cute and IG girly photo-op café in downtown San Jose, Con Azucar Cafe is a must-visit! The decor is adorable, with vibrant colored flowers, charming accents, and even a swing that makes for the perfect Instagram selfie. Seriously, I couldn't resist snapping a few pics of myself on the swing (sorry, I didn't upload it here lol)! We decided to check it out on a Sunday afternoon after hearing rave reviews about their HUGE Conchas and, more importantly for my sister, the HUGE cup of Abuelita Hot Chocolate--which is a whopping $50! When it arrived, we were amazed to see it served in a massive café mug that could practically TRIPLE as a soup bowl. It was rich, creamy, and just the right amount of sweet, pairing perfectly with the delicious Concha slices we ordered. Since we were taking the Concha home for our parents, we couldn't resist sneaking a little taste of it before handing it over. Honestly, it was hard to share! A downside was that the tables had not been cleaned properly, still bearing remnants of previous customers' trash and food mess, which we ended up tidying up ourselves. Service was overall good as they were friendly. Con Azucar Cafe is a decent spot if you're in the mood for larger-than-life drink portions and a cute atmosphere. Whether you're grabbing avocado toast, sandwiches, or pastries, you'll find something to satisfy your cravings.

Yelp
Ahhh, so much love for this place! I'll start by saying it's conveniently placed on a corner in downtown SJ with tons of street parking surrounding. When you enter the, the ambiance is vibrant and welcoming. So now down to the food and drinks. The drinks are phenomenal and pretty authentic too when it comes to their cafe de olla and horchata latte (favorite). The pan dulce is always yummy and I had a friend try their torta and had great things to say. The workers move quick to get all their orders out in a timely manner, but it does get pretty busy here so try and come during an off time!
google avatar

Shirin B.

Yelp
One of the best cafes in downtown!! Con Azucar not only has the gigantic cups of coffee and the delicious huge conchas, but you can get everything normal sized as well. I got the mazapan speciality latte and it came with a rim of dulce de leche and mazapan, and I also got a concha to go with it. The latte wasn't too sweet and the concha was perfect for dipping. The perfect breakfast! The vibes here are also very fun and they have a couple of photo opps in the cafe as well!

Yelp
Friendly staff, fast food prep, amazing flavors, huge portion sizes. Always a favorite spot!

Yelp
We have seen this on Instagram and have sent the stories back and forth. My daughter wanted to go here for the gigante coffee and concha! It is about a 15 minute walk from SAP to Con Azucar and decided to go for it. We walked right up to the counter, took a double take at the giant concha and realized the cute little bunny shaped one will do. We settled for the gigante coffee (made with leche and sugar). After getting the giant coffee, giggling at the size of the bowl and taking photos with it, we scooped it out and drank away. I'm not used to sugar in my coffee but it was good! I think it could feed 6-8 people comfortably. For us, we were determined to drink it, so it was equivalent to having 3 cups of coffee. The concha was truly memorable and one of the best I've had. The texture is soft and fresh, not dry. There was a family vibe to this place. We had a good time. The giant concha and coffee are great conversation starters with everyone next to us. The price was a little steep ($40) but worth the experience.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute spot! Unfortunately our drink was overly sweet...and the concha was not soft. Wouldn't be a place to visit again.

Yelp
Came to this location 2 hours after opening since I was running errands and needed a morning coffee. There is limited parking however you can park inside the gas station near the wall they have parking. As soon as I walked in with my fam we were greeted and since it was my first time here I wasn't sure on what to order! Thankfully there was a sign that recommends cold/hot drinks. I went with a latte and hot chocolate for my partner. We got a club sandwich and let me tell you it was delicious! I must say this is one of the cleanest breakfast spots I have seen in a while!
google avatar

Priscilla L.

Yelp
Drinks are very sugary, not real coffee. El cafe de olla is tasty but also sweet. The giant concha is extremely huge but the flavor it great. My party and I were about 6 people and couldn't even get half way just FYI. The concha is about $35 and the giant coffee is about $40! Get there early because the giant conchas sell out. Limited street parking.

Yelp
Came here tonight for a Galentines date with my besties for the first time. I ordered their "Be Mine Mocha" (special for Valentines with a cuernito. Both were super delicious! The cuernito was super soft but flakey & sugary. It was perfect. Usually some cuernito is bland but this had the perfect amount of sweetness to it. The mocha, at first I thought it was going to be super sweet because of the color & sprinkles, bit it had the perfect coffee/sweet ratio! The place is a little small, so you gotta scout out for seats, decor is nice though, a lot of places to take pictures. The girl at the register was also friendly, I told her it was my first time & she welcomed me & recommended me the drink. Overall this is a cute little spot! Will be back during different holiday events.

Andrea C.

Yelp
Shared the giant concha and giant cafe de olla with friends and I was expecting the concha to just be okay but I was surprised that the texture was soft and translated well. I also got a few of the regular sized conchas to go. Funny enough these tasted drier than the giant concha. So I ended up preferring the giant version in terms of taste and texture Service was okay but it was pretty empty when we ordered as we were between crowds. I did notice that they didn't call our name for the single pineapple drink we got but luckily we double checked. A decent amount of seating in the restaurant but I can see it filling up quickly on a busy day/busier time.
google avatar

Mike G.

Yelp
Driving through back to LA stopped by for cafe and it was good de la Hoya with soft concha's.
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious everything! Great service, loved the cafe de olla, torta de jamon, and pan dulce! Can't wait to go back with more friends!

Yelp
I love supporting Latinx businesses. So I've been here a few more times and am updating my review. Unfortunately, their service is no longer the same. The girls behind the counter are on their phone and forgetting some items. They didn't give me a straw so I went to ask for one. I had to wait for the girl because she was showing the other girl something on her phone. The ambiance is still the same except the lines are not as long as they used to be. There is now a lot more outdoor seating. Some people were saving tables before they even ordered. The tables are somewhat dirty which is understandable because some people don't clean up after themselves; however, after we went one of my relatives got super sick. I would suggest having someone clean the tables after customers leave. Honestly, the customer service has lost their heart and I don't think I would want to bring anyone here to experience that. The torta was still delicious so that hasn't changed :)

Yelp
I kept hearing about this cafe through the work grapevine and was told it was absolutely magical. I took a chance and ordered the Duvalin Latte because I'm a sucker for strawberries, and my goodness, it was magical. I will absolutely be returning when I get the chance!
google avatar

Lisette D.

Yelp
This place has been in my bookmarks for so long and I can't believe I haven't been here sooner! We ordered two of their speciality lattes. The horchata matcha drink tasted very sweet and all I could taste was the cinnamon. It barely tasted like matcha I wish it was a little more flavorful. The duvalin latte was so good! It was the perfect balance of coffee and sugar, I'd get it again. The atmosphere in here felt very welcoming and I loved the decor they had. Staff was nice and friendly! I will be back to try their food and more of their drinks :)
google avatar

Ellie L.

Yelp
Food was surprisingly good. Ambience was excellent! Service was perfect. In short clean with friendly staff, I definitely recommend it. My friend and I just happen to stop by. We were hungry and had a concert to go to had no plans for dinner. The ambience looked great from outside. We went in and were happily surprised by our choice.

Alondra C.

Yelp
Had high hopes for this place considering how many times it pops up on my social media. Food and drinks are way over priced for what you get! I'm here for support businesses that represent a little bit of our culture but this fell short for me. Service wasn't great and a bit confusing. my drinks were waiting at the other counter but never called me to grab them. The torta de jamon was a let down. Just over all a mediocre spot. I suggest taking your $50 dollars to a mom and pop shop. Extra point for the art on the wall!
google avatar

Cindy R.

Yelp
This is what Mexican dessert dreams are made of, but make it aesthetic. ;) I mean this cafe is on point. Such a cool and fun cafe with so many wonderful artworks and sayings. Plus not to mention all their menu options, literally everything sounds so good, I have yet to try all the stuff on their menu. But let me tell you everything I've tried has been bomb!! If you have a sweet tooth, this is the place for you! Plus to make it even more fun, you can customize your latte artwork! Love to visit this place. Always a good time. It's a bit packed at times but they have a good system and a great team. & the price is on point with what you get. A must visit!
google avatar

Jazmin S.

Yelp
Instagram got me good. I kept seeing this cute place pop up on my feed so I saved the location in hopes that one day I'd be able to go. Well sure enough work sent my boyfriend to the area and I got to go with. We were able to visit the downtown San Jose location. It's so lovely inside. The menu is clear and they are very friendly. We ordered a abuelita hot chocolate and a plain latte. They were both delicious. We ordered a few pastries, a concha, a cuernito and a cochinito. They were all soft and tasty. This place is known for the rather large concha's and coffee drinks and we got to see someone in the shop doing a lot of social media pics with those items. Would I make a point to come here again, yes! Would I eat there, yes...they have avocado toast that looked so good.
google avatar

Jediah M.

Yelp
My friend showed me an Instagram reel of this place and I knew we had to try it. The place itself has indoor and outdoor seating. There's also a swing right by the door which is perfect for those who like to take content. We ordered the giant coffee, giant concha, matcha latte, avocado toast, and crapese toast. The giant coffee and concha were the highlights and we were not disappointed. I'm usually picky with my coffee but this was perfect. The concha can feed more than 4 people and worth the price! Lastly, the service was great and I would come back again!
google avatar

Coco G.

Yelp
Comfortable seats, helpful staff, bright festive decor. Americano coffee was piping hot and generously poured to the brim. Music a bit loud for conversation or reading.
google avatar

Obdulio C.

Yelp
The hype is real, the line is always out the door for a reason!! Decided to give them a try, tried the Cafe de Olla and some Conchas and everything was delicious. Went on pretty busy day so I had to wait in line for a bit but it was worth it. Really nice place!
google avatar

Joaquina F.

Yelp
This is a cute smaller second location. Went right before lunch, just a few people there and the service was fast. Stayed through lunch working and it didn't not get super crowded like their first location. Definitely will be back. The caprese toast was amazing, the Mexican mocha was okay, will go back to my usual the horchata latte.

Yelp
The location that I visit was La Tropicana shopping center in San Jose. It was super. I do recommend this place because is not only fresh and beautiful but pan, torta and coffee are super. Maria help me out and she not only was nice but she explained the menu and recommended me the cafe de olla. Thank you Maria I give you a 10/10. I try the torta de jamón and it was delicious. Here they have some nice cups too. This is super

Dulce G.

Yelp
My sister found this gem while we were in town for the Aventura concert. What caught our eye was the cute decor and the drinks also sounded interesting so we decided to give it a try. I had the duvalin latte and my sister the dulce de leche latte. We both loved it. Not to mention they sell cute little bread packets and the bread is good. I loved how the bread was not a big piece of bread, it was a perfect size for coffee and bread. The service was good, very friendly and kind. Overall, great experience
google avatar

Philip W.

Yelp
Man, that is a giant sweetbread concha. I enjoyed some fantastic concha and coffee with friends in downtown San Jose. The Chiquito hot dulce de leche was terrific. The service was quick and friendly. They have a swing inside the cafe, which makes this place unique.
google avatar

Yru M.

Yelp
Love the atmosphere. I got the coffee with Frida on it. I ordered a ham and cheese sandwich it was delicious . But I didn't have enough people with me to buy the big cup of coffee and the concha. Price for both approximately about $100.
google avatar

Rachel R.

Yelp
Disclaimer: I am NOT a coffee person I stopped by with a friend to see what all the hype was about. I got the drink dulche de leche and it was really strong and I couldn't finish the drink. So if you lean towards sweeter drinks, this may not be the place for you. I personally would not come back, but if coffee is your thing you should definitely try it out once!
google avatar

Michelle L.

Yelp
No me preguntaron de que color quería mi concha !!!! El Mocha Mexicano está muy bueno!!

Marisol V.

Yelp
I went late a night around 8:15-8:20pm to buy a Rosca and I was just disappointed. Yes I did buy it for 50%off if you got there before 8:30 and just let me tell you that I was really looking forward to it with my hot chocolate. All I got was a stale Rosca that went to the trash.
google avatar

Estela B.

Yelp
Tik tok did it again. Social media hyped this place up too much. Decor is cute. While my drink (horchata late), cuerno, and conchas were good. And getting our drinks was also confusing. Like what's going on here. The employees make this place not good. The reviews about employees are correct. Super stuck up. Not friendly or smile at all. The 5 of us agreed this place was way too hyped.

Yelp
I was looking for a Monday morning coffee within walking distance when I remembered my previous positive experiences here. Everyone likes Voyager Craft but I'll admit it here first, I've never been their biggest fan. Con Azucar offers unique Mexican-inspired specialty lattes and a good variety of Mexican-style pastries at a reasonable price point, so my vote was instantly in favor for it. I got the small iced dulce de leche specialty latte and it came out fairly quickly. We ended up waiting almost twenty minutes for the second drink, a mangonada, which was just a little unfortunate. The lady that took our order didn't seem to speak much English, but luckily I've been working on my Spanish lately so that wasn't an issue. I ordered a small and my receipt on the drink said small but somehow I ended up with a large cup, but I'm certainly not complaining. Recently I've learned that I'm no fan of true high quality coffee, instead I'm very much a fan of sugar and fun flavors, so if you're anything like me I recommend the specialty lattes. The dulce de leche didn't have the strongest flavor but was also not overwhelmingly sweet, which I will take any day over the other way around. If you're in a rush on the weekday mornings, I'd recommend sticking with ordering coffee. The mangonada seemed to be the only non-coffee menu item that came out the entire time we waited, so I wouldn't recommend getting that if you're not prepared to wait at least fifteen minutes.

Yelp
I recently made the trek of over an hour to visit Cafe con Azucar and I'm delighted to share my experience. The service was warm and friendly, which made me feel right at home. They are dog friendly! The iced latte I ordered was simply delightful - perfectly balanced and expertly crafted. It was evident that the barista took care in every detail. The Concha pan dulce, though, was the star of the show. It was an explosion of flavors that made my taste buds dance with joy. The only minor disappointment was that, although this place is renowned for their gigantic conchas, they had unfortunately run out when I visited. Despite this small hiccup, I will definitely be making the journey back here. It's a gem well worth the drive, and I'm excited to try more of their delectable treats on my next visit. Keep up the great work!
google avatar

Jaimee Rose A.

Yelp
has the best horchata matcha ever. if there's one thing you have to try here it's that drink. my favorite drink here. my friend also recommends their agua de jamaica drink. the service is good and they also have some snacks and pastries. if you ever get the chance you should also order one of their many conchas. it's a pretty nice study spot as well if you don't mind the music and occasional noise from visitors. if you're not studying too hard, i really like the atmosphere. i highly recommend this place!
google avatar

Johana P.

Yelp
I was introduced to this place by a friend and came by on a Saturday morning. The place itself is very small, so seating was a bit challenging when we arrived. We ordered a torta de jamón, refresher de pepino and iced mocha Mexicano. Although this is a coffee shop/panaderia, their torta was surprisingly good. Everything is pricey on their menu in comparison to other spots where you can get a torta in SJ. Their drinks were good, but I still can't get over that torta!

Yelp
This is more of a 2.5 star review. It's comes done to how style here is more valued than substance. Came here with my son's father because he said the conchas were worth trying. Got here early and we got two conchas, a torta and I got the dulce de leche latte. Strange/unorganized set-up of how you get your food and drinks. I swear they called our order but because a flog of people standing by the register and the pick up area they put our order back and we just waited again. When we did get our torta and drinks soon after, it was pretty good. I liked the ham and the veggies were good. A little too much pickled jalapenos for my liking, but just picked them out. Liked and disliked the cutting board they use to serve the food. Since we shared made it messy to eat from. The drinks came with a cute stencil of a Bay Area team. Came with a lot of foam. The drink was not bad, but it definitely was not something to write home about. Then we had to go back to counter to request our conchas. Kinda annoying to me, but I guess they're trying to create an experience(??). It was severed on this cute miniature bike as if you were getting it from a street vendor. Conchas were probably on the better conchas I have tried. But again noting to write home about. Did not see other pan dulce options. They did have miniature assorted pan dulces in little bags. Also had the enormous ones, which to me is just ostentatious. Street parking, be cautious as there are a lot of homeless in the area. They have indoor and outdoor sitting. Probably should stay inside because when we left and walked around the area. There were a few homeless sitting or loitering around the tables outside. Decor inside are definitely traps for Tik Tockers to flock in. Fake foliage and lighted signs and a swing. I think the big drawl is the oversized concha and oversized drink which I am guessing is hot chocolate. Not really excited to recommend or go back. Pricing is on the higher side. Definitely better places to go.

Yelp
Was looking for a new coffee shop and remembered seeing this on IG. Finally got the chance to visit. Inside is beautifully decorated. They have a swing you can sit on to take cute pictures for social media. I thought the place would be roomy. It's a bit small with limited seating. Service was great. I ordered a hot mocha and it was okay. I also ordered the avocado toast. That was super delicious. I wouldn't mind coming back from time to time. Place gets busy so, I recommend coming really early.
google avatar

Elizabeth M.

Yelp
Ordered for pick up. I got the mexican mocha 3.5/5 it was super sweet. Horchata latte was really good 4/5 it tasted like horchata. However, both drinks were super sweet i had to keep on adding ice to it. Will be back and give it anlther try.
google avatar

Marllin G.

Yelp
The concha was 10/10! The bread is so good!! This can feed a family of 20...so much bread. Worth it! The drinks were ok...nothing spectacular but I will say that getting the digital design on them was great. Super cute idea. This cafecito spot is worth coming to and checking out. Be aware that parking is limited and the seating inside and outside is small. So have someone order and someone else look for a table.

Karla M.

Yelp
Coffee was not good. Customer service wasn't really there just the taking the order. The place is also very small and there was nowhere to sit for a lot of customers so it was mainly to go.
