We came on friends’ recommendation, and deliberately chose to arrive unprepared, no menu scouting, no reviews, just an open palate and a willingness to be surprised.
The space immediately sets the tone: elegant, meticulously designed, and quietly confident. We were seated at a table facing the kitchen, which turned out to be one of the evening’s highlights. Watching the choreography of service and plating up close adds a layer of intimacy and theatre that few restaurants manage without feeling gimmicky.
The team was warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. Moments after we sat down, we were presented with five small amuse-bouches, each a precise hint of the flavors and intentions that would unfold throughout the night. At our request, they poured a local red wine, beautifully chosen, expressive, and a seamless match for the meal ahead.
We opted for the seven-course tasting menu, tailored thoughtfully to our culinary preferences. The pacing was impeccable, each course arriving with the kind of timing that suggests a kitchen in full control. Every dish came with a detailed explanation, except for one particularly playful plate that arrived without commentary, inviting us to guess its components. It was a clever interlude, and surprisingly effective at sharpening attention.
As with any ambitious tasting menu, not every dish landed equally. Some courses were absolutely outstanding, bold, balanced, and memorable. Others were less aligned with our personal taste, though never careless or dull. Taken as a whole, the experience remained deeply satisfying: polished, inventive, and clearly driven by a coherent point of view.
What makes this meal especially compelling is the restaurant’s interpretation of Sicilian cuisine, recognizable in spirit, but reframed through a modern lens. It is not a nostalgic tribute. It is something more interesting: Sicilian ideas reimagined with precision, restraint, and occasional mischief.
