My wife being a history fanatic I knew the only way we could truly enjoy the Key West, FL area was to get a professional tour. We had the pleasure of riding train number 97, who has the BEST tour guide on the planet. As we weaved our way in/out of the streets of Key West we learned SO much about the city, culture and the roosters. Cannot say how enlightened we all were after this tour. The tour itself lasted about 1.2 hours, and we could have enjoy another hour with our guide. If we had any burning questions of things to do or see or places to eat, our guide filled in all of the questions.

Google
This should be every single tourist first excursion as you get a needed introduction to key West. You would never know the island had such rich history and everything has a story behind it from the fossil stoned buildings to the trees. It gives you plenty ideas of what to do around the island and the guides are all pretty friendly. Thanks for the tour!

We used the Conch Tour Train to take our wedding guests from Old Town Manor to Fort Zachary Taylor Beach—and it was one of the highlights of the night! Our guests had an absolute blast riding through Key West, honking the horn, and dancing along to the music on the way to the ceremony. Sarah, our driver, was fantastic—friendly, fun, and even took music requests on the ride back. It added such a unique and memorable touch to our wedding day. We’re so glad we splurged on this!

Google
The train ride was a lot of fun and well organised. The driver was also really friendly and experienced. You see all the interesting spots on this tour. Unfortunately, when we did this tour in August there was one stop missing because it was under construction. Also, the ticket price is kind of high. It is almost 45 $. You do get some coupons for other attractions and you also have free admission for the sails to Rails museum but it is still a bit expensive.

Eva G.

Google
It was an okay tour. I would recommend take the ghost tour, it was better in narration, ride, information too. The price was too high for this ticket.

Google
We did this as our first activity on our trip to Key West and I was so glad we did, we got to learn about the ample and interesting history of the island as well as see many potential places to check out after our tour. A great way to help you figure out how to make the most of your time in Key West, all while resting your feet! The tour is fun and informative, we appreciated the ten minute break so it did not feel overwhelming. Our guide, James, did a fabulous job and was happy to answer any and all questions.

***Christmas Lights Train Review*** We went on the 6 pm train and this was perfect for our kids. You need to arrive 15 mins prior at the Key West High School parking lot. This was perfect as there was plenty of parking, but no restrooms were available as the school was closed up. The train had a great music mix and we drove around mostly residential neighborhoods, a little of upper Duval, to City Hall and then back to the high school. Wonderful lights displays and a few fun small surprises. Exceeded my expectations. A bit pricey, but absolutely worth it.

Google
We had the good fortune to tour Key West on Easter Sunday with Kenny as our guide. This was, by far, the single best tour we have ever taken anywhere. Kenny is engaging, clear, very well informed, and truly funny. My wife and I learned an enormous amount about the island and from someone who grew up on Key West — from the history of major storms to fascinating details about the local flora and fauna. Kenny is exceptionally well read and knows how to weave a good story. He’s meticulous about fact and detail and knows how to command and direct the attention of his listeners. Thank you and bravo!

Yelp
Our guide Chris was great. The tour was very informative and entertaining. I have been to Key West many times and I saw a lot of new things I hadn't seen before. Definitely recommend it.

Yelp
When in Key West, make sure to check out the Conch Tour Train! We booked this tour through the GoCity pass. By the end of the ride, I learned the history of the city, the booming times of the city until..., and some personal recommendations by our guide, Chris. He made the experience even better with his humor and in-depth knowledge. One of my favorite tidbits was the story behind the Conch Republic's tongue-in-cheek motto: "We seceded where others failed." In a playful protest, Key West once jokingly declared war on the United States and then immediately surrendered, turning the whole thing into a symbol of its independent spirit and humor. The train took us all around the island, passing by famous landmarks like President Truman's House, Ernest Hemingway's Home, Duval Street, and several museums. Overall, I'd highly recommend this tour for anyone looking for a fun, relaxing way to explore while staying cool in the Key West heat.

Yelp
Arrived at the ticket booth 5 minutes before the train was to depart. Very nice gentleman directed us down the street to get on the train and advised against stopping to get a water to make sure we made it on time . The lady at the train was not having it and insisted we wait for the next one. But, although we were off to a rocky start, it all ended so much better than I could have expected. Our tour guide, Skipper, was so informative and fun. We learned so much on this tour, even though I've been to the island 10+ times. We spent about 15 minutes after the tour talking and it was a highlight of the trip. It's a great way to spend an hour on the island, and make sure you get with Skipper!

Yelp
Conch train was awesome. Franks was our driver and guide. Great sense of humor with some amusing anecdotes along the way. Easy pace with a history lesson and you get eyes on the old part of town. This is helpful to inform your own walking around, so take notes on what you want to visit later. Great way to spend about 70 minutes. Next time I'll probably do the hop on and hop off.

Yelp
We took the Conch Train as part of a combination tour aboard the Norwegian Pearl. Of the 3 parts of the tour this was the highlight of the package. The driver of the tram ride around Key West "Todd" talked almost nonstop (in an excellant way) about the highlights and history of this great place. We were shown the many points of interests like Hemingway's home, Truman's "Little White House", and many others. This is "THE BEST" introduction to Key West or if you've been to Key West a few times you may discover a place you havn't visited yet. The Conch Tour is 100% a Key West must do! Well worth the cost!!!

Yelp
It's the conch train... it's basically a requirement when visiting key west. Probably about an hour and a half with a short break. My driver was Kenny... Kenny lives here... the tour goes by Kenny's house and Kenny's favorite trees...Kenny is very passionate about key west. Kenny aside it's a great tour with a solid base in key west history. Equipment was clean and well maintained

Yelp
The CONCH TRAIN TOUR ride is always a must when we visit Key West. We come down here every 2 years or so and enjoy this Train tour and ride around the Island. One thing we miss is that it used to be a hop on hop off, but now it's a full tour which only starts and stops at Mallory Square. We purchased our tickets from Chrissy and she was amazing and went above and beyond! Fun trip around the Island and worth it! I would recommend either doing the Conch Train tour or the Trolley Hop on Hop off ride. No need to do both as they are very similar tours.

Yelp
The Conch Tour Train is probably the most touristy thing you could do in Key West. In fact, it might be the most touristy thing you could do anywhere. It was a semi-stormy, rainy day and our previous plans, which were glorious, were ruined by the weather. So we rode the little tourist train. And it was fun. Your driver will give you a live, narrated tour throughout the ride, except for when you go through a few quiet zones. You will learn history, some architecture, and just generally stuff about Key West. Our driver was quite a character--in a good way. You can hop on and off the train at their handful of stations, if you want to explore the area on foot and then re-board the train later. We wanted to give our feet a break so we just stayed on the train throughout. Yes, it is incredibly touristy and riding a train is no substitute whatsoever for hitting the pavement with your feet and checking out the surroundings on your own pace and in person. Honestly, but for the weather seriously messing with our plans, we would never have ridden the little train. But it was a fun ride, I can't deny it.

Yelp
Fun tour around key west and really loved the history behind the homes and the key. Ian was insightful and fun, light jokes and made the kids even perk up. A good daytime activity if you are into history and architecture!
google avatar

Yelp
This experience was so amazing! Our tour guide was Chris and he was so helpful. He was very well at explaining everything about Key West and giving helpful tips and tricks to making your way around. For this being my first time in Key West I felt very informed after riding the Conch Train. The only thing that was not the best, which was nothing they could control, was that the seats were very tiny and were uncomfortable considering that you had to be on there for about 70 minutes. Other than that, I would recommend the Conch Train to anybody who is visiting Key West as it allows you to explore the amazing city!

Yelp
Conch Train Tour Key West 5-1-25 We grabbed this train on Thursday morning about 9:30am. Train was not full so we could sit wherever we wanted. It was easy to hear the conductor Ian over the loudspeaker. He knew his Key West History and even cracked a couple jokes during the tour. We always wanted to take this tour and we are not sorry we did. You will see and learn so much as this train goes all over Key West. I could not believe Key West was that big with lots going on. If your time is limited, this is perfect for you to see most of Key West. If you would rather hop on and hop off, get the tram. This train, you stay on for the entire time until the tour is over. We bought tickets right at the 303 Front Street Depot as it was early in the day. I will tell you we saw the train later that day and it was packed no empty seats. So, if you're not going early you might want to book online for later tours. The train ends up behind Front Steet at Mallory Square. The tour is usually 1 hour long but at times it can run longer. I give this Conch Train Tour 5 out of 5 stars because of Ian the tour guide and all the sites we saw plus all the history we learned from this ride. Yelp
Pretty good way to get a lay of the land and see some important historic points and get good background. It's a little expensive for what it is though; and they added on a $5 historic book that we didn't ask for! It's still a good option for a first time visitor to the area.
google avatar

Yelp
Had a wonderful experience aboard the Conch Tour Train with local Conch Native, Ian as the conductor. He gave a lot of wonderful insight about Key West while also making it fun and engaging along with a few laughs along the way! Thank you Ian for a wonderful tour!! We will be back again!

Yelp
Hopped on at 3:30 on a Thursday, train wasn't nearly full. Our conductor was very knowledgeable and lively. She was very nice and taught us a lot about key west and its history. The pricing isn't bad, $45/adult and the tour is a little over an hour long. Definitely worth it to see a lot of the history of the island.

Yelp
we went on the Key West conch train tour 7/19/25 our name was Frank Coyle. We have been coming to kill us for 17 years and I learned more on that almost 2 hour tour then I have in the 17 years we've been coming down here. He was so knowledgeable, a good sense of humor, and just a great guide for this attraction. We enjoyed it so much that the next time we come down, we will take this tour again and specifically ask for Frank. There is so much deep history with other countries and and with our government that I learned on that tour. Five stars plus for Frank!

Yelp
Great way to start our Key West vacation. Saw a lot of interesting sites in Old Town area and Ian was a very good guide.
google avatar

Yelp
First thing we did was come to the train station to upon arriving in Key West. This was our first time here so thought we'd start with a historical tour to get familiar with the town. Tickets were around $43 per person for a full access day which also gets you into a museum. The tour lasts around an hour and a half if you didn't get off any of the stops. Very informative live tour as we were driving around. Loved hearing about the history, landmarks, and architecture of Key West. I was noting some places we wanted to go back to after our tour - such as Higgs Beach and the Southernmost Point. One thing I wish the train offered is a hop on-hop off option for major landmarks and picture opportunities but it would slow down the tour experience so I understand why they don't. Overall great way to spend a little time getting to know Key West!
google avatar

Katie L.

Yelp
Our guide Jay was absolutely wonderful! So many great insights into Key west then and now as well as sharing a few local favorite places to eat (Big Cheez's pizza was GREAT). Could have stayed on after the 75-minute ride to learn more. Loved the option to hop on and off.
google avatar

Yelp
My husband and I went to Key West on a recent cruise. We wanted to explore and have been before so decided to do the quick tour around with the train. The staff were awesome and pointed out great items and a plus was that we did get to see some areas we had not seen before. Overall, the experience was great. My only suggestion is to have a little more accommodations for those that are tall. The seats are very close the rails which led to not as comfortable of an hour as it should have been.
google avatar

Heather T.

Yelp
We absolutely love this little tram!!! Great history and a fun ride. Only complaint is that we come to Key West every year and we wish they did sort of a hop on hop off for people who aren't necessarily going to stay on just for one ride, one day. We come in the low season and they are always riding around with two people. I think it's a missed opportunity not to offer a hop on hop off option for people who have already done the tram in the past.
google avatar

JoAnn S.

Yelp
We did this tour on our second day which I recommend. We stayed on the train for the entire tour so we could see all the stops then decide which ones we wanted to get off at. Our Captain was Skipper and she was very knowledgeable and friendly. We went to the Truman Little White House Tour at one of the stops which we recommend. Make sure to bring your ticket if you go there cuz they will give you a discount. Great shopping in the area as well
google avatar

Hugh H.

Yelp
Worth while if you have limited time. Hits the main stops plus if you're at one of the hotels on the stops, you won't need to drive in.

Ed D.

Yelp
Sarah gave a very nice tour learned a lot of things we did not know before about Key West. I've been coming here for over 30 years. First time I ever did. The conch tour definitely learned a lot and it was awesome.
google avatar

Rene D.

Yelp
We wanted to do this last time here but my dog was with.. no dogs on the train! Bummer. But this time was good! We were 4 and had a great time riding around. I did have to translate. It really is a pretty nice train ride. When u get off and on like we did you get a different driver. They have a bit of different versions of the stories. But fun none the less. I bought on Groupon and it allowed us into the Rail museum ( Flagler) and the trolley all day as well. On and off! So did the conch first then the trolley went ALL the way around the island! That was kewl! Doing that is allowed us to see allllll the outskirts that U don't see normally. Including the beaches etc and regular shopping areas.

Back U.

Yelp
Very nice way to see the old town and hear of its history. Driver made it a very enjoyable ride with stories about Key West's early settlers.
google avatar

Roma M.

Yelp
If it was sunny, I'd give this a solid four, but I wouldn't advise getting on this before/during a rainstorm. Most people know this, but I didn't. The tour train gave us white plastic ponchos but it simply wasn't enough protection. We got a lot of laughs in though. Especially funny was that the tour operator didn't even mention the pouring rain, the pelting water, the flooded streets. Instead he just keep going with the history lesson. An upside is that people on the street watching us pass by on "the train" were laughing at how ridiculous we looked, which made me laugh too.
google avatar

Paul K.

Yelp
The first thing anyone should do when they first visit Key West is take the Conch Train Tour. The tour gives you an overview of the sights of Key West. It takes about 70 mins with three stops. You are welcome to step off and explore but the trains does not wait for you. You can catch another one to get back to the starting place. This is not the first time I rode the train way back in the mid 80's my mom took me my kids and wife on our first tour. 35 years later it still delivers that great overview.
google avatar

Sara D.

Yelp
We took The Conch Tour Train and saw the important areas and interesting points and a bit of history of Key West since we were short of time. For an hour and 30 mins enjoyed the All Aboard tour. The two or three stops to hop off and on along the way strategically located near main points of interests. Hemingway House, Butterfly House, Train Museum, Mallory Square. They provide us Rain Ponchos , but were not necessary. The Sun came out and the rain clouds moved away. Lot of architectural tidbits and nice houses were seen that on an overnight stay otherwise would be missed. It's fun to ride the Conch Train
google avatar

Ben S.

Yelp
We were staying in Key West and knew we needed more of an activity than just hitting the touristy shops and restaurants. A hop on hop off tour was perfect to give us a feel of the island learn more about it. It was nice because as we were driving around afterwards we got to see stuff we'd already seen and were familiar with. We purchased tickets online which I believe saved a bunch of money. Trip as a whole takes a little over an hour. We got stuck in one of the rear facing seats which wasn't something I'd want to do again, but the train was packed and we had no choice unless we wanted to sit separately.

Levent B.

Yelp
A bit overpriced, 45 dollars per person, however this is tourism and the tour was great. Took about 45 minutes to 1 hour and 10 minutes, they tour you through the western part of Key West, showing you the Southernmost Point of the Continental USA, to the northern part. 4 stops are there. Cool driver, very informative and friendly. Overall, it was a great tour.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
Hum this was a tough one to rate a three or four star. Not cheap but the knowledge and stories the guide had. Very insightful and I learned a lot! However one of the selling points was hop on hop off at various points. Well that never happend. I recommend doing the full tour at one time, then hop off. The town was so busy (July) not sure how packed is is other months. Once off the train good luck getting on another!
google avatar

Keith R.

Yelp
This is absolutely the best way to learn Key West, if you haven't ever been. It is a hop on, hop off excursion. We were hosted by Donilo, our guide , train #107, who gave a great historical presentation of some of the sights. I highly recommend this tour. PS, buy your tickets online or at the stop near Mallory Square. The other stop, on Duval at Truman, had a lady with a nasty attitude.
google avatar

Harold H.

Yelp
Train ride was fun and very informative. We saw lots of places that we didn't even know about so it was well worth it.
google avatar

Sherry M.

Yelp
We had such a beautiful day in Key West !! Sunshine and and awesome tour of such a historical beautiful island. The Conch Tour Train is a MUST experience in Key West and worth every penny and then some. The sights and history is fascinating! The professional service and knowledge of the drivers and guides are priceless. Highly recommended!!

Dudley H.

Yelp
Not a good way to just get around. They have a free bus for that. We bought on the ferry as they said it was good for that. Haven't took the tour yet.
google avatar

Elva V.

Yelp
I wish I could say this tour was a pleasant experience however it was not. The lady who sold us the tickets was nice and friendly. I had a knee walker and was told we could get on and they would hold the folded knee Walker up in the front. Kenny was our tour guide and it was hard to hear and understand him. The times we did hear him and understand what he was saying, he was mostly talking about his life in key west. His wife, his brother the house he grew up in. While he did share information on the historic parts most of the tour had information about him which is not what I was interested in. To make matters worse, the train stops but it is not clear for how long but people get off and Kenny also got off. My boyfriend got out to get a pamphlet on jet ski rentals that was only a few feet away from the train when suddenly Kenny announced he was taking off. The worker lady who Came over to put the strings close tried to tell Kenny to stop. As I was unable to get off due to my sprained ankle. My boyfriend tried telling Kenny we were not ready but Kenny insisted that he was going to take off. The lady who worked there told my boyfriend to get on the train and when he proceeded to get on, Kenny yelled at him through his speaker to not get on. We explained the lady told him to get on. Then at our next stop he comes over and proceeds to tell us how he is going to make sure the lady who told my boyfriend to get on will 'get it'. So as we sat there feeling uncomfortable and disappointed, I notice that Kenny gave my knee walker to another male and he was carrying it away. At that point I told my bf he had my walker. So we had to tell Kenny that was our walker and he had his staff place it up front. Had I not seen it, I would have been missing my knee walker. Besides our tour guide ruining this tour, the ride Itself was ok. There's a lot of bumpy roads so be prepared. Take water with you. Hopefully you get a pleasant tour guide who Doesn't give his personal opinions, yells at his riders and provides a tour of his personal life.
google avatar

Charlotte C.

Yelp
If we could give it a 0 star we would. We travel a lot and take these tours in every city. We just arrived in Key West and without any research on this tour paid our 80+ dollars for 2 and hopped on Conch Tour Train near our hotel. We are accustomed to these rides making a full circle and bringing you back to where you get on. We were dumped out at Shipwreck museum and it did not look like our stop. We asked our guide Mike and he pointed us to Duval street where our hotel is. We started walking and 1.1 mile later finally made it back. We are seniors, it was a bloody hot walk in the sun and our guides lack of communication was ridiculous. There are better ways to see Key West than getting a sun stroke!
google avatar

John R.

Yelp
The original guy that took us to the tour was great. We thought you could get on and off where you like no, only at 3 stops. You could hardly understand the tour guide. I was falling asleep. Not worth the money.
google avatar

Ellen M.

Yelp
Sweeney was our guide driver and he was both knowledgeable and humorous! A great way to get around downtown and see Key West. There are 4 stops where you can get off and look around. Your ticket price includes entry into the Hemingway museum and rides on the train all day.
google avatar

Donut D.

Yelp
I recommend taking this tour train. It has 4 stops but you don't need to get off if you just like cruise the island. We got off at Stop B where the famous southernmost sign and Hemingway Hse are. At this stop, we decided to catch lunch at a street side cafe, visit the butterfly house before catching the next train. The your is very informative and you will learn about everything about the island.
google avatar

Erik P.

Yelp
Came on the tour during my cruise as it was a way to see key west on a short time. Tour - Kinda boring as it wasn't as interesting, the person narrating the tour was not fun at it to keep you interested on the tour. They do have a lot of trains that keep it flowing fast. Ride - The ride on the train is fine an all but can get rough due to city streets. Cost - Very reasonably priced. Stops - Some of the stops are a bit far from the historic sites, but gets you walking around to experience some of the local streets. Overall its a quick way to cover Key West on a short time.
google avatar

Eileen P.

Yelp
This is a great way to get an overview of key west. Like most train tours, you can hop on/off. We've done this on more than one visit to key west and I'm sure we'll do it again! My recommendation is to buy your tickets online because it is less expensive. We had to go down to the ticket booth to get our tickets since we purchased for a group of 8 and we needed separate tickets in case we did not stay together. The lady at the ticket booth was very nice and helpful.

Deborah M.

Yelp
This was terrible. Uncomfortable seating, boring tour guide and out of the way stops no where near what you want to get off at to see an attraction. Drove right past the Hemmingway house and the lands end marker and stopped smack off road between the 2 leaving you with a minimum of a 15-20 minute walk in either direction to get to the sight you want to see. There is a better option and walking is the best of all.

Susan S.

Yelp
Absolutely worth the time & money. A long tour, very very informative. Would not have ever been able to see all the sites on our own. Wish I could remember our gal, she was awesome and so funny! Kept us informed and entertained at all times!! January 19th I think, 2024.
google avatar

Lucy R.

Yelp
Run the other way....this is an overpriced, cruise ship guest trap. Get a map and walk or scooter the same route. Key West is tiny.
google avatar

Mark K.

Yelp
I've been to Key West. Few times but usually wander on my own, but I had a few hours before an event and decided to check out the Conch Train Tour. I arrived just as the train was leaving and the next train was leaving in about 20 minutes. I wandered the market and then returned to the office as the next train was arriving, apparently, the train was running late and they quickly boarded starting the safety message as we were departing. The young lady collecting tickets and getting everyone settled was very friendly and got everyone counted and accounted for with the driver Todd. The train itself was quite comfortable, surprisingly at 6'1" I still had leg room. The open-air cars were really nice in the cooler January weather. The tour itself was really informative, Todd shared a lot about the history of the neighborhoods and many of the buildings. The tour took us through a great mix of neighborhoods with a variety of architecture and history. The only comment would be that Todd needs to learn his left from his right as a number of times he pointed out buildings but directed us to the wrong side of the train. It was a good value and a nice way to spend the morning.

Yelp
This was my second visit to Key West this year and we rode the Conch Train both times. It's a great way to see the island and learn about its history. Having Gabriel as our driver and guide was an extra treat. He was funny and very knowledgeable.

Abigail E.

Yelp
I enjoyed the tour. The hometown pass and ticket purchase were a bit of a racket. Locals receive a discount but it can't be used when purchasing online. The tickets at the booth are more and I was told by the vendor that they increase throughout the day. She was not at all friendly or helpful on Friday August 4 at 2:13pm on Front Street. I know about getting good help, but she should be able to play the part for her shift.
