Concord New London Style Pizza

Pizza was good. We went during a hot rainy summer day and the lack of air conditioning was making it difficult for us to stay there, it was raining and the humidity inside this place was just bad. Not sure if they don’t have air or they just have it set up to high for a place that has ovens inside. We will take out instead next time.

I moved to the area three years ago and sampled all the local pizza restaurants. This one is by far the best, and the owners are super friendly. Their Thoreau Street pizza is my favorite.

I had the chicken wings. They are fried not microwave and that's a plus in my book. The Buffalo sauce was on the side, that's the way I like it because I'm a dipper. The sauce is not great. Tastes like hotsauce with extra vinegar. The ranch dressing is not the original ranch taste so not desirable. I would come back to buy the wings again.

I wanted to like this place. Greek pizza comfort food. I’d just had a long day of swimming at Walden with my nephew. Paid 21.95 for some spagnelli and meatballs with a side salad. And I feel bad for the review I’m giving, it’s. It meant to harm the small business. But they’re good does not need to be that bad. That bad. 1. The spaghetti was like cardboard, clearly cooked beforehand and microwaved (not enough) i suspect in a cheap plastic container that shouldn’t go into a microwave. 2. The sauce was insufficient and clearly from a can. 3 the grated cheese was 75% wood filler. Tasted like nothing. Spiced the food in it. Nothing. 4. The side salad in a small container for which I was charged an extra 6-7 bucks was embarrassing. Big pieces of onion. I didn’t finish the food and I was hungry. These people have lost their way and have no respect for food or their customers. Perhaps instead of 50 menu items they could cut it down to 15. And actually do 15 things well. They had 5 people working there at 5pm on Friday. It doesn’t take much more effort to boil noodles fresh, to make a sauce. It’s not the cost of ingredients. These folks let the Sysco truck roll up and they barely microwave what comes out. They have to decide to care about good food, that take a more labor, but would allow them to respect themselves and hard working customers.

If you want great pizza, run don’t walk to New London Style Pizza!! Such a great family run pizza shop with friendly service and delicious pizza and grinders. I was born and raised in Western Massachusetts and grew up eating at two Greek pizza shops in town. I live in SC now and crave good pizza. When ever I am in the area visiting family I always make it a point to make a stop here.

Our family ate here a couple nights ago. We had meat lovers, chicken pesto and cheese pizzas. All 3 tasted really good. The restaurant was clean, and we loved chatting with the owners.

I recently moved to the area and was searching for a good sub shop when I tried this place. I am a bit of a critic on meatball subs, since they have been my favorite since I was a kid. I found that both the meatballs and sauce were nothing special and easily forgettable. It's not that they were bad, just nothing worth noting.

Best pizza in the area. Toppings are generous and delicious. Crust is flavorful and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside. Perfect thickness. People are very friendly and efficient.

The food and service at New London is unparalleled. Subs, dinners, salads and fabulous pizza choices abound. I don't often dine in at New London but the counter service is always terrific.

I'm updating my review to four stars. When I rated New London a few years ago there was a consistency issue, but recently they have been solidly good. I still highly recommend the pizza. Also good is the steak and cheese, mozzarella sticks, and the chicken parm.

Honestly very good especially the item I got which is in the photos below. The restaurant is very clean and updated. The staff are all very nice and get the food out fast. I still have to try the pizza though!

I'm searching for the best pizza around the Concord area including Bedford, Acton, and maybe Lexington. Here's my current pizza ranking around the Concord, MA area: New London Pizza (Concord Center, Greek style): 7.2 This is my go-to for convenient, local Greek pizza, but they close early and stop taking orders after 8PM. $10 for a small, 10" sausage pizza. Steve's House of Pizza (Bedford, Greek style): 7.2 Very good. At the same level as New London. Also, they are the least expensive at $7.75 for a small, 10" sausage pizza and they stay open later. They are cash only. Sorrento's Brick Oven Pizzeria (Concord Center, traditional pizza): 7.1 When New London is closed, then I head to Sorrento's for quick, easy, local pizza. The dough is more like a soft, pita bread. It's not Napoli, New York, or New Haven style. They load the pizza with toppings. It's $12.50 for a 12" pizza. Dino's Pizza (West Concord, Greek style): 6.8 The pizza isn't the best. The crust is too much like white bread and the sauce is too sweet. It's $10.50 for a small 10" sausage pizza. Here are some other pizzas within driving distance of Concord, MA: Spice Box (Lexington, Indian pizza): 7.0 My first Indian pizza - chicken tikka pizza. It's loaded with toppings - edge to edge with chicken, onions, cheese and cilantro. It's slightly sweet. If you like Hawaiian pizza then you might like this pizza. The crust is very thin. It's crisp around the edges, but the rest of the dough is soft and grainy. Also, it's expensive - $17 for a medium and $22 for a large 16" pizza, but you do get a lot of chicken on it. I'm giving it a 7.0 because it's unique and it's not bad pizza, but it doesn't make me want to go back for more. Pepe's (Burlington Mall, New Haven pizza, white clam pie): 7.9 Pepe's has become a chain of franchises and the quality varies by location. I've been to some very good and some not good locations. The good news is that the Pepe's in Burlington is good to very good. Unfortunately, due to Covid-19, when you're ordering takeout, all pizza just isn't as good as hot out of the oven. Their white clam pie is one of my favorites anywhere. The crust is crispy as New Haven pizza should be. And this time, the crust was perfect for my preferences - not too burnt as coal fired pizza often can be. The only reasons why I didn't rate this pizza higher is because of the covid-19 takeout factor and it's a good drive from Concord. I would only go there if I'm already in the area, or if I have a real urge for the clam pie. My background: I've had some of the best pizzas in the US and Italy. I'm also going to rank these pizzas using the one-bite pizza review scoring 1-10. For that scoring: 9's are best in class pizza anywhere, 8's are worth driving to, 7's are very good local pizza, 6's are okay because they're convenient, but they're not my favorites. 6's will be Yelp 3 stars, 7's will be Yelp 4 stars, and 8's will be Yelp 5 stars. In my opinion, I haven't had a pizza in the Boston area that I would rate a 9. My favorite local pizza was Papa Gino's until they closed all the local stores. And I don't understand why people rank Santarpio's pizza so highly. I love sitting at the bar, drinking a beer, having kabobs and pizza, but the pizza isn't that great. The greatest pizzas that I've ever had in no particular order: DiFara's (Domenico De Marco, NY), Pizzeria Bianco (Chris Bianco, AZ), Pepi in Grani (Franco Pepe, Caiazzo IT).

Classic institution. Great Greek Pizza. The same as it has been for 30 years. That's all I can say. If you want a slice, come here. Cheese, pepperoni, it doesn't matter. Steak and cheese sub. Salad. Can't be beat. Delicious.

Excellent place. Glad they are still providing takeout during this pandemic. I have enjoyed their pizza for more than fifty years.

staff were prompt & friendly. i wouldn't recommend the buffalo chicken wrap. looks like it was recently up-done inside -- clean for a sub shop.

As a Connecticut transplant I was excited to see this place nearby. I've tried the pizza as well as the grinders and both were fine. Compared to the CT pizza and grinder shops they don't stand up to the original. Grinders are more like a dinky MA sub shop so that was a bummer. I'm still on the look out for any sub/grinder shop that makes grinders as big as they do back home. A girl can dream.

Simply the best pizza and subs in town. They are an institution in concord and very nice people

This is a staple in concord and has been for as long as I can remember. The pizza is on the thicker crust side, buttery/flakey, and heavy on the cheese. They have many other typical Italian and Greek options, the subs are very solid. Not the best you have ever had, but definitely well worth it in Concord

Ordered here a few times and always came back because the pizza is so good. The staff is very nice, and the ambiance is good, and most of all it is way better in every aspect than Sorrento's across the street.

I got two slices, and let's just say they were a little well done. Sometimes knife and fork has to be done

I have always loved New LONDON style pizza ... a quality operation... today I ordered and received the worlds best chicken wings I have ever had with a couple of side sauces ... absolutely the best crispy but not greasy, quality food , well cooked but not overly and not greasy.. you don't have to take a shower after eating these ... what can I say ... the best. Friends and I have enjoyed pizza, grinders, salads here since the original - and still operating! - family opened in the '60's. Still UNBEATABLE!

This quality local pizza/sub shop offers the usual Greek/American menu. The Greek style pizza is well made, of quality ingredients and is satisfying. The subs are fresh and assembled with care. The restraunt is thoughtfully laid out to not waste precious space, while maximizing patron convenience when it is busy. The generously sized tables are kept clean and stocked. This place is an easy choice for a quick local meal.

Pizza is great, although their options are much more limited than Sorrentos across the street. They have plenty of drink options available which is nice, and their fries are really good!! But keep in mind the spicy fries aren't really that spicy... Their subs are also really good (I think better than the pizza)! The restaurant may look a little dirty, but it is actually pretty clean, so don't worry.

There is nothing compelling about the appearance of this pizza parlor that would make me choose it over the neighboring Sorrentos. I followed my dad in because I don't know any better. About three of the guys working here look related, and the rest look otherwise serious, maybe bored. But wow, those were some flavorful pies! Get spinach and artichoke on your pizza, or the Greek if you like saltier cheese. They also had a sexy little piece of cake on display that I almost bought. They use 100% recycled paper napkins which I appreciate.

Greasy food. Pizza is OK, pasta portions are huge but bland. To me the food here is the Italian version of food you might find on an Amtrak train and the gray and blue atmosphere isn't too different from the train anyway.

My husband and I live in Concord We used to order from here all the time. Last couple of orders have been not very good tonight we ordered a pizza with triple pepperoni and cheese we got one piece of pepperoni per slice, seriously. Won't be ordering from here again, also ordered a chicken ceasar which oddly had opposite problem, all chicken no salad except for one piece of lettuce. And DoorDash are idiots as well as we have a thing on our account that they won't reimburse us for orders because of our account, so sorry were customers who have an opinion of their service. How dare we?

Haven't been in about 20+ years. Stopped in on my way home from an errand. Pizza is as good as I remembered....so glad it hasn't changed. Love the nicely browned cheese and the crisp crust with the soft interior...

I do NOT know what New London style DOES to make their pizza so good. Don't care - 20 years living in Concord it's always been the best, and I swing by there for a slice or two every chance I get. Once I even made the family take me there for my birthday dinner when their other plans fell through, LOL!

Standard pizza joint. Nothing particularly amazing about it. Has a good selection of pizzas and subs.

This is the pizza of my childhood. When TCBY moved in across the street to great fanfare in the early 90s, New London had been there for many years. When it left and and Sorrentos Pizza came in, New London persevered. New London lived on as Papa Ginos disappeared and Chang Ans was built. Before I had a car, but when I was walking around town without parents, getting excited about my new-found freedom, New London was the place to go. When I did have a car, I used it to pick up pizza since they don't and have never delivered...memories of warm 'za in a box on my lap as I headed home with friends... I love meat on my pizza and veggies -- the Works. But at New London, I always get the same thing. CHEESE PIZZA. It's thick, the crust sucks, but it's excellent, oily, cheesy mess, best 2 minutes out of the oven. I'd gladly burn the roof of my mouth to bite into fresh pizza from New London. And it's been the same great service from the same family forever. Walk into this unassuming place and enjoy.

Been coming here before I could read, mostly because for a while it was the ONLY pizza in town. This was before Sorrento's and Papa Ginos (now gone). I pretty much grew up eating the pizza and fries, and occasionally the subs. Once you hear the bell when you open the door, it's the classic New London bell...I remember when I was younger I turned off the light switch a couple times (because it was in the doorway). I've had so many good/bad/teenage/childhood/adult memories I wouldn't know where to begin, so let's just cut to the food. Yes I have grown to like deep dish pizza, and there are times where New London sounds like it will hit the spot...other times I have felt sick to my stomach. As a whole, I never thought New London was "the best pizza ever" but not the worst either, I always thought they could step it up. Hit or miss. I feel as though the whole kitchen isn't really clean, and over the years, the management/employees seem to be getting ruder. The price is getting higher too, and that's why I don't go there as often anymore. I did find a bug like a worm or something coming out of the crust of a slice of pizza there, and they've reheated pizzas when we've ordered a fresh one...I don't really trust the people there. The regulars I was used to seeing in the 90s and 00's seemed to have moved on....I see some familiar faces sometimes..but you never know. As of lately, they need to step it up. But I'll always love New London just because of my history with it, not necessarily the best food in the world. The prices have gotten higher, the people there are getting ruder. The quality is NOT worth the price. I can't stand the new staff.

I always have loved going here - and still do - with my big brother. We always get the same thing... large cheese pizza. Delicious pizza! Greasy, but yummy! I remember going here when we were kids to buy a pizza. We'd then go to Video Revolution (R.I.P.) right down the street (just a few doors down), rent a movie or NES game, take the pizza and movie/NES game home, and eat and watch/play. This was also the meal of many-a-birthday party for me growing up as a kid. It's so memorable that my best childhood friend and I occasionally grab a pizza from New London. The other week he ate most of a small pepperoni pizza and most of a large cheese!!! I was amazed. He always associates New London with my birthday parties when we were younger. I do, too, but I also associate it with my brother and renting games and movies. The three of us were there for New London's (to the day) 50th Anniversary. We brought a trophy - **Best Pizza in Concord** - and card for the special occasion. The owners were very pleased. ---------------------------------------------------------------- Sorrento's??? Pshh! Thanks for taking over TCBY, Sorrento's. Always, ALWAYS New London!

I have been going to this place since I was a very young man. This place is not gourmet nor classy. But it is authentic Greek pizza & sub joint. I have three distinct memories of this place. All of them revolve around my typical order. Small toasted turkey with lettuce, cheese pickles and mustard. The memories are the following. - At the age of 12 my Boston Area Youth Soccer (BAYS) team won our division and I scarfed down the sub in what seemed like 1 min - New to driving as well as dating I entertained my first summer romance to an apre movie experience of a tasty dinner here. - As an adult sitting with my child hood friends around a booth on a Saturday afternoon after playing whiffle ball and having my friend tell all of us he and his wife are having their first baby. The owners are great and I high recommend the pizza, salads and of course the TURKEY SUBs!

This is a 5-star rating based on how well it executes what I go there for - highest quality, most satisfying, best value subs anywhere. I don't just mean Concord. I put this up against Al Capone's in Boston, Hoagie Haven in Princeton, etc. The Pizza used to dominate the Concord market, but has gotten some competition from across the street. Now it's a style preference -- greek style? Can't beat NewLondon. Neopolitan? go across the street. My favorites: Buffalo Chicken sub and Turkey sub. A small is about a foot long and PLENTY for lunch -- $5.50. Love the Buffalo Wings on their own as well, although I can't understand the nickle-and-dime charge of 50 cents if you want BOTH blue cheese and dipping hot sauce, on top of the $7.95. Another great takeout for 2 is a small cheese pizza and greek salad with italian dressing.

The pizza here is substantial but tasty. The special (all veggie pizza) is especially good. I ordered 2 large pizzas with 3 guys, and it was a bit much for all of us (even though we were all very hungry), so I would recommend purchasing less.

My sister and I were there last weekend. The employees were very nice. The restaurant itself was very clean. There was only one other customer there. We ordered a small Canadian Bacon pizza. We both thought it was just so so. It was kind of greasy. I don't think I would be in a hurry to go back.

Okay subs are superb- but the best kept secret is their chicken and rice soup. It is fantastic- seriously it is the best soup I have ever had! Great grinders and deep dish pizzas!

I am a huge fan of this place! I have a few things I oder on the reg and they are as follows: -steak and cheese, with mayo, L&T, toasted -greek salad -cheese pizza I oder from here all the time. The large subs are big enough to split and the salads are fresh. The staff are super friendly and always smile!

I ordered an Italian sub to go. The sandwich was ready when I arrived at the pizzeria. I have order 100s of subs in the past and always found each to be top quality. The last two times were different. The last one aped the one before. I like their sandwich because they heat the roll. Not toast it but heat enough to put a slight crunch to the sandwich when you bite into it. On both occasions the roll,were over done, the quality and quantity on the sandwich contents were greatly lacking. The tomato's were tasteless and like cardboard. I think I will try the place across the street. I miss Luigi's

If I get to choose my last meal on earth it will be an Italian sub from New London Style. I've been getting them for years - decades actually - and have never found another that can compare. Even if you're eating in I'd suggest getting it wrapped to go since somehow that makes the oil, etc seep in and it tastes much better than when served open. They've added a list of fun facts about New London Style on the wall and it turns out that the Italian is the all-time favorite sub they sell. The current bestseller is the Buffalo Chicken which sounds delicious but would mean forgoing my favorite so I've yet to try it. Be sure to check out the pizza too. Nowadays they sell it by the slice so you can get your pizza fix even if you get a sub. It's excellent and the crust tastes like candy. Last time we were there I looked out the window and wondered how on earth Sorrento's can survive with New London Style across the street. Different strokes I guess... But if you weren't sure what you find at New London Style you'll be pleasantly surprised. Even if you don't live or work in Concord it's absolutely worth the trip - we drive out from Cambridge regularly for pizza and subs.

Ordered the chicken broccoli and ziti, just to find one piece of broccoli and 2 chicken fingers on the dish, it was tasteless! No cheese salt or anything! The onion rings were burnt! The guy at the window was not customer oriented at all, didn't offer any napkins, forks or anything! Will never go there again!

My favorite cheese pizza in the area. They throw it in a salamander / broiler type thing once it's done cooking and it gives the crust and cheese this crispy deliciousness that is excellent .

Same as back in 1990, just super family food! Cheeseburger grinder is the goto choice. Also delish are the chicken fingers and mozzatella sticks.

I was in Concord for the weekend a few weeks back and saw this place and thought I'd try it. Im really glad I did, the pizza was fantastic. Ham & Pineapple. Great flavour, dough just right, crispy, delicious. I highly recommend this place and would definitely go back there again. You have to try it out.

I am not a huge fan of pizza in general, but I came across this place because they offered gluten free pizza. I tried the BBQ chicken gluten free pizza and it was DELICIOUS. The gluten free style pizza is a personal sized pizza and the crust is very thing and crispy. I've also tried the pesto chicken pizza and mushroom onion bacon pizza. They were great as well but would stay with the BBQ chicken pizza as my favorite.

I'm normally not a pizza fan, however I was in the area and was starving!! I came across New London Style Pizza and decided to grab something quick. Between the excellent customer service and the AMAZING subs I had to stay to stay to listen to the family history in this magnificent pizza shop. Would 100% recommend. I can't help but crave it ALL the time

Quick and quality for the price, massive pieces of baklava were on the counter unfortunately didn't get I try one today.

Plenty of room to sit, but only OK pizza. There are some better places in the area. The parking is good and we didn't have to wait for a table. The cost is minimal.

Grew up in Concord, went there at least 2 days a month growing up. I can remember back in the late 60's, or early 70's Nick, or Nicko used to run the place , the layout has changed, but the food is the same. Every time when I go back to visit I make my 1st trip to get an Italian Grinder.........Quizno's WHO...this is the real deal as far as I'm concerned. Meatball sub to die for too....

Wowowowowowow!! This pizza is reeeaaalllllyyyy good. Although the pizza is not thin crust, it is soo light you won't believe it. It is a small, assuming place, but do not let the casual pizza shop appearance fool you. I asked the owner what makes their pizza so good: they make there own dough (do you know how many places purchase it?!) and their own sauce...and it is the perfect balance of herbs and tanginess-so good. The cheese it actually cheese, not cheese like. I am very fussy about my pizza and I have notice inferior products out there that are purchase through large companies that are in the business of helping owners cut cost. Fine. They can do that, but I want really good cheese, in house sauce and dough. Try it you really like it and the prices are really reasonable. I tried the pizza place across the street right after just to compare and her is the break down: Sorrento's: $3.85 cents for a cheese slice. Cheese was fair, dough had little taste and the cheese had solidified on top. They did give me two pieces and it is brick over but honestly, I think those things are used as an advertising crutch. New London: $2.45 slice which was a decent size, perfection!! This truly is a labor of love and I never miss the opportunity to grab a slice there.

Grew up in Concord and have been getting the Italian sub at New London for over 30 years now. Was in town the other day around lunchtime and only one thing came to mind.... So that should speak to what high regard I've always held the place. Overall the place is still the same, still run by the same family. It really pains me to have to give them two stars, but when your sandwich gets significantly smaller and you charge freakin $8 for it, I have to slam you. There are NO expensive ingredients on this thing. They are simply price gouging because the fine 1%ers of Concord must not care. For those of us who do, it's a damn shame and it's a price that I will refuse to pay again.

I was recently asked about my favorite food. Having traveled the world and spent big money in fancy restaurants, I can't think of one dish that I've ever enjoyed more than a Toasted Italian Grinder at New London Style Pizza. Everything else that I've had there is also good.

If you like heavy Greek style Pizza then this is your place. If you are more a fan of thin crust Italian style pizza, then go across the street to Sorrentos. The one thing I was surprised at was the price. $14 for a large pizza that was definitely on the smaller size of large? That seems awfully high.
