The Days of Police Receiving Preferential Treatment at Restaurants Might Be Over | Eater

"Employees at an Ohio-based location staged a walkout after being asked to fulfill an order for Ohio Highway Patrol officers amid protests, saying they didn’t feel comfortable making the meals; management initially threatened termination but later insisted that choosing to leave would be treated as quitting, and the incident spurred staff to publicly demand that company leadership donate to bail funds and remove the district manager while stopping short of calling for a blanket refusal to serve all officers." - Jaya Saxena

Google
The food was great and full of flavor! We asked to sit on the patio and were seated right away, which was perfect. Our server was excellent — super friendly and attentive. Overall, a great experience with awesome tacos and great service. We’ll definitely be back!

Google
Come here every so often for lunch and order my usuals: Smoked Cheddar Queso as appetiser, A mix of Bad Habit, Sweat Heat, and/or The Heater as main tacos. Never once disappointed me. Sometimes, if the weather is soothing, you could order a carry out and dine at a public park instead. Definitely recommend if you’re within Belden Village.

Google
First thing you notice is the atmosphere. It seems very upscale and I felt under dressed walking up. It's totally not what it seems, it's very casual and friendly. They just have a great nice clean place with an awesome setup. The portions are generous, and the prices are affordable on any budget. The flavor is up there with the best, and the options are endless. That's the best part, trying to decide what to try first. The servers are patient and will help you if it's overwhelming. I have returned twice since my friend took me there already, bringing my other friends and my kids and they were blown away. Even my picky son, he said it's a game changer and has been asking to go back. He loved all the options and the way they have it set up. Definitely recommend

We had a party of 12 and Alaska was our waitress. She did an outstanding job! From the moment we arrived, she was friendly, attentive, and incredibly organized. Managing a large group isn’t easy, but she handled everything smoothly—keeping our orders straight, refilling drinks promptly, and making sure everyone had what they needed without us having to ask. Her positive attitude and professionalism made our experience even better. Thank you, Alaska, for the excellent service!

Kathy H.

Google
Absolutely delicious! Atmosphere stunning. How they get so much flavor in one bite in the corn salsa I will never know! The food is beyond excellent. No wonder there were so many customers and continual carry out orders!

Trent A.

Google
Food was great and so was the service. Jen was fantastic and was very helpful. Would request her next time we're in. Only complaint was the margaritas. They've changed their recipe and the margarita tasted watered down. At first we thought it was due to happy hour specials, but then we were informed that the recipe for the margaritas have changed.

Google
The food was good but the portions were very small and the very large price. Good flavor and heat. It came out in good time, and the waitress was very nice and explained the menu to us. The atmosphere was laid back, not too busy. The drinks are very small. My wife said it was a light pour and she's a lightweight lol, and for 6 bucks, happy hour and 9.50 normal should be a bit more glad it was happy hour.

Google
First time here!! Everything was amazing. Had two of their specialty tacos, husband built his bowl and enjoyed the chorizo cheese and smoked cheese dips. We both loved it all. Definitely will be back. Fun atmosphere and quick service.

Yelp
I just love this place! I've never had a bad thing here. (Except the mango iced tea yuck) But the food! I've tried so many tacos and all are fun, unique flavor combinations. You can get a plain old taco too if you want. But there's so many fun things to try. I always always get the loaded tots on the side. The queso and jalapeños are so great with the crispy potato. I love their rice, I always get it when ordering a bowl and it's great sprinkled on loaded nachos. The toppings are always fresh and flavorful and so unique, great for when you need something different from that other popular fast casual burrito/bowl place (which I also love). Some weird wall paintings my young one always has questions about but other than that it's a cool vibe with friendly servers. The food comes out quickly. I used to have to drive up to Pinecrest to get my fix, I'm so glad there's one in Canton!

Yelp
Been to Condado a few times and it's always a reliable spot for some Mexican food. Good sized portions and food comes out pretty quick each time. Servers have always been attentive and never waited long for anything if needed. Always get the queso with chorizo as a starter, their chips are fresh and plenty of salt. Tried the build your own option this time and it was my favorite dish to date. Got the BYO bowl with lettuce, chicken, grilled peppers & onions, queso fresco, salsa and the chimichurri sauce and the sauce made the dish. Would get this every time if they didn't have so many options to choose from!

Yelp
Well Brook made our visit fun, she is working with a broken foot and it didn't slow her down. The food was good as always. The place is clean and the paintings are fun. See y'all soon & hope Brook is working.

Yelp
Great selection, filling tacos and a good price point. We've been to this location twice now and very happy with our dinners. We will be back!

Yelp
This is a weird review for me to write. While nothing blew me away necessarily, I found the place appealing. The service was friendly, so no issue there. The menu I felt was small. It wasn't overly busy on this Wednesday night. We got right in. The best part was that my wife and I each got a bowl and I got a Pepsi and it was only $25. So that was a bonus. However I asked for no black beans and of course I think they gave me double the black beans. Not the end of the world, I guess. I didnt complain, just dug around them. I'd go back and try some tacos next time. Idk...it's just if I'm going to eat this sort of food, I'd rather go to an actual Mexican restaurant. It's worth checking out once or twice. I don't think I'd go much beyond that honestly.

Yelp
This restaurant was recommended and I was very impressed with the selection of tacos! Recently went to no meat and they have several options. The top shelf margarita was more on the too sweet side but the food was great. Including the Smokey cheese dip!

Yelp
Stop in Condado! Taco Mex at its best! I had the beef brisket tacos--they have rewritten the taco experience, excellent. "I'll be back" as Arnold said. My server was Alaska--yep, that's her name. So when you stop in just ask: "hey, where's Alaska?"

Yelp
Ate here with my daughter and husband on separate occasions, I absolutely loved everything we had. The tacos were amazing, the nachos were so plentiful and I love that everything is totally customizable. The prices are on par for the type of food you get, their guacamole Was some of the best I've had! Definitely will be back. Check out their happy hour! Mom-Friday I believe 3-6pm drink and appetizer specials!

Joanna L.

Yelp
Great food and service at lunch today - Short North location . Huge serving of Burritos and really tasty str corn - definitely need two hands to handle the Burritos!
google avatar

Taylor P.

Yelp
Love Condado! The elote queso is amazing plus there are so many different flavors of margaritas. They have both make your own tacos or suggested combinations. Fun, trendy vibe.
google avatar

John G.

Yelp
Large portions, very amazing flavors. Most places I need more than 3 tacos, here 2 will have you stuffed. Staff was amazing and fast. The Art Deco and walls are awesome creating an atmosphere and ambiance to gaze at!!

Julie S.

Yelp
Food- fresh, inventive, properly priced. Service - a tremendously personable group, very welcoming, easy rapport. Ambiance is casual cool. Every inch of the walls is covered in fun and creative murals painted by local artists. Indoor, outdoor feel with garage like doors. Noise level is not high but hums enough that children fit in, even when feisty. You've got to give it a try. Your welcome.
google avatar

Yelp
Like barrio except you don't write down your order. Pretty good place! A tad expensive for tacos but worth it. Pulled pork and chicken were my fav. Good queso dip! The margarita was a little weak but other than that it was good. Friendly staff and cool vibe.
google avatar

Yelp
Pass on this place. The atmosphere was chaotic. I'm still not sure what theme they are going for. Every ingredient tasted like it had just came out of a can and onto our plate. Everything from the meat to the chips were cold despite having an extended wait for our food. Also quite overpriced.

Gioia M.

Yelp
Service was god awful, Michael S seemed like he hated his life and did NOT want to be at work tonight. Lots of room for improvement!

Yelp
Hurry and try the Chicken Bacon Ranch taco before they're off the menu. Best taco I've ever had. I didn't get the bacon on mine (I know it's a crime, but I'm not a big bacon fan). It's a double shell taco with seasoned chicken and a creamy avocado ranch sauce. Hubby built his own chorizo taco and it was full of toppings. Our little one really enjoyed the traditional guacamole and queso blanco. If your in the mood for tacos, I would recommend Condado. Our waitress was super friendly and the food always comes it quick. The restaurant itself is covered in mural style Taco art.

Yelp
This is a new restaurant in the mall area and the hype is real! The build your own taco is the best. You pick EVERYTHING - the shell, the meat, the toppings, the sauces! It really gives you a chance to experiment. They suggest you order two to start and three is super hungry. We ordered two a piece and went back for a third! They also have an array of queso's and you can also do a sampler! Do the sampler. They have a ton of margarita options, so do the flight of three and try a vriety! We had the white peach, prickly pear, and blood orange. They were great size portions and all were delicious. The whole place is also brightly painted and welcoming! Some original artwork on the walls that is super eye catching. So why isn't this a five star review since the food was amazing? The service was a bit slow. We went in on a weekday about 3pm. Maybe it was a shift change, because there was a ton of staff, but our waitress struggled the entire time. We weren't in a hurry, so it wasn't bad, but I couldn't imagine having a short amount of time to get lunch done. The only other thing that was a little disappointing was the mexican street corn. I wanted it to be served warmer and the corn could have been a little sweeter, but it was good with the tortilla chips.

Hannah D.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing meal this past Saturday! The food was cooked perfectly, the atmosphere was cozy, and the margaritas were also stellar! Highly recommend checking this spot out! The service was literally more than I had ever experienced. Our waiter Mike was very intuitive and prompt!

Yelp
We have visited many of the Condatos around town. By far the best on is at Pine Crest, consistent food and service. This location (Canton OH) we had terrible service and the food was just super okay (which is not okay at all). I always order the same thing, a lettuce bowl and in this one was about 1 tablespoon of meat. My husband ordered 2 tacos and only got one, they did make a second but wasn't delivered until I was all the way done with my food. To top that all off the server set down the wrong food at our table in front of us and after we informed him it wasn't our he picked it Up from in front of us and gave it to the table next to us (not hygienic at all). I would say a big pass and head over to Pine Crest to actually get what you pay for and a good experience.

Yelp
I stopped at the North Canton location two weeks ago. The bartender took great care of me and ensured I had everything I needed. I got chips and salsa first. The chips are thick but tasted good. Next, I ordered the Lucy's fire taco first. It was not heat and tasted good but not great. There was cheese, lettuce, onions, etc. The amount of filling was enough but not as much as I would have liked. The inside shell is crunchy and the outside is soft. The next taco was the Korean BBQ. The meat seemed a little overcooked but the flavor was good and it had some heat to it. The atmosphere is is simple and fun. I rated the restaurant a 3.5 overall.

Yelp
This is a new place for us here in the Canton/Massillon area. The food is really good. You can tell it's fresh. They have done a pretty good job of moving people through and being able to keep up with online orders. We tried a few of the tacos and the bowl as well as a few of the dips for the chips. The chips were good, although slightly thick, but still good. We tried the smoked Gouda, queso blaco and mexican street corn and all 3 were really good. The bowl was with chicken and it was really large; it tasted good, definitely worth the price. Tried the kewl ranch taco and regular taco one with traditional taco meat and I really enjoyed them. The shells did break a bit by the time we got them home (we did do pick-up for our order) but I could tell that they were trying to prevent breaking by the way it was packaged. I absolutely would go back here again, and am excited for my next trip there.

Dee W.

Yelp
Will never go there. I like condados in other areas so I decided to stop here. Host asked us if we preferred a high top or low top. Both were crammed in the front section near outdoor seating. When a waitress asked us if we were comfortable we said no thinking she was helping us. She sat us in an area where no one else was. A poofy haired guy said he be right with us. He went to the bar to complain and pointed at us and the went on to take orders and serve everyone else in his sections before he came to us. Do not recommend

Maddy M.

Yelp
I love everything about this place from the atmosphere to the decorations to even just the niceness of the workers . The food is amazing there's nothing you can't adjust a little if you're "picky" . It's so fresh and amazing (:

Yelp
It was good. The tacos were loaded well with toppings and meat. The summer slush was tasty and nicely poured but not too strong. I really liked the pineapple guacamole. My only complaint is this; if you don't like spicy food, don't eat here. Everything is spicy, whether or not it has the little flame icon next to it on the menu. I don't particularly like spicy food and I don't tolerate it well. It would have been nice to have more options on the menu that weren't labeled as spicy, and for those items that weren't labeled so to actually not be spicy. I think my favorite taco was the purple haze, though it tastes as if there is cinnamon in the pork and it was quite a lot. It was also pretty spicy for something not labeled as spicy.

Kathy R.

Yelp
First time visiting the Canton location. Patrick was very nice and efficient, as was the kitchen- our order came out quickly. We built our own tacos, 5 different, and all were good. LOVED the tots!

Molly M.

Yelp
The bowl I had (rice, black beans, chicken, salsa, queso, peppers and onions) was just ok. My biggest complaint is the chairs. Most uncomfortable things I've ever sat in at a restaurant. Who thought THAT was a good idea? And I'm normal height and weight, so no comments please. Service was decent.

Tony S.

Yelp
The food is just alright, tacos are way too expensive for pretty boring food, had 3 tacos with firecracker hard shells, which tasted just like the old el paso shells you get at giant eagle definitely not made onsite. the chorizo was awful, the tequila lime steak was ok but they charge an additional 4 dollars on top of the 5 dollar base price per taco, and the brisket was decent but also 9 dollars, so save yourself the disappointment and go to la Loma around the block. total bill for 2 people 3 tacos and a pop for me 2 tacos and a happy jour margaritas was 59 dollars!! nope!! We coulda had steaks for that price, and they don't even give you chips and salsa it's 9 bucks half order 15 for the full. Oh and watch the bill, they will charge other stuff to your bill you didn't order may have been a mistake but it sure was happening a lot there.

Yelp
My wife wanted to come here since she works in the mall, so we gave it a shot. It was Saturday afternoon, and the place was packed so we waited a bit. There were a lot of young people there and the ambiance seemed to suit them fine. Our server was struggling with the computerized order machine and struggled to hear us as well. The menu is a bit of a cluster with options scattered haphazardly and extra charges hidden throughout. My wife ordered a bowl and I ordered two rice and bean hard shell tacos (the meat options didn't look appetizing, but that's me) with cheese, lettuce, tomato, and salsa verde. I am not exaggerating when I say we had our food in less than a minute. Of course, my order was wrong with no lettuce, tomato, or salsa. I have a phobia about what kitchen staff do to returned food, so I just ate the tacos. I couldn't believe it when we got our bill that I was charged extra for the rice and beans (not an extra charge on the menu). WAIT, DID I JUST PAY $3.95 FOR A TACO SHELL AND CHEESE? Yep. I suspect the restaurant will do ok as I am not their target demographic. So, if you need a meet-up place for your friends before you hit the mall and you're not real hungry, this is your place. If you're looking for some good Mexican eats that will fill you up at a reasonable value, you're better off looking elsewhere.

Tara B.

Yelp
I love the service I receive everytime I go to condados in Belden village! The staff is always welcoming and friendly. Julia the manager I spoke to always makes sure everything is good and will clean tables and bring food and drinks if it's busy! Patrick was a great server as well!

Melissa O.

Yelp
The food was not that good ! Everything had a ton of salt in it . Everything we ordered from appetizers to dinner came out with the wrong size or the wrong order . The bartender was not willing to make the drinks how we asked.... And ignored us the entire dinner. Too bad bc the art and the place was cool. My experience is I would never go back .

Krista M.

Yelp
Food was good I got a bowl with lettuce and chicken and avocado ranch dressing. Service was fast and the house Margarita is good! The vibe is fun and casual. Will definitely come back again

Richard B.

Yelp
I love this place, just wasn't happy when the host skipped us in the queue while we were waiting because the other party had one more person in their party.
google avatar

Sheri W.

Yelp
I should have took a picture, but I didn't! Food was amazing, and very filling! Stuffed pepper did, and the street corn dip were delicious! Service was good.. food came out fast!! Definitely worth a try, and we will be back!

Chris J.

Yelp
The location at Village is less authentic. My experience at Beach wood was excellent . Tacos were made in a rush and had like 3 pieces of steak on a steak taco .

Candi W.

Yelp
The margaritas were delicious! I ordered the seasonal feature bowl, it was pretty good. Fresh, tasty. Will probably return.

Morgan C.

Yelp
The food here is fantastic!! Highly recommend getting the queso. Nachos and tacos are both phenomenal!!! Kearstin makes the BEST margs in town! Bonsai and Kearstin both do a great job with bar service and make sure we are taken care of quickly. This place never fails to make me smile :)

Cierra S.

Yelp
The service has been great. Our server made sure we had a chance to look and proved very knowledgeable about the menu. The ambiance is very hip. Bright art on the walls, throwback music, a few tvs to view games. The food was pretty good. No complaints from the group. The margs were delicious. If you want quick tacos and a loud but chill atmosphere, it's a good stop.
google avatar

Elyse C.

Yelp
Have been to a few of the Columbus locations and this is my first time at the canton location. Love the atmosphere and the food! We did get the trio of dips and it was amazing. Love that they now have a list of taco creations to choose from and the create your own option.

Carrie S.

Yelp
Eh, nothing special about this place. We sat at the bar, the bartender was very friendly. The art is awesome! We ordered the bowls, it came out in a cardboard bowl with a spork.. I had plenty of pork which was tender, they didn't put my sauces on, so I had to ask for that. Margarita was good, not real sour like some places! To me this place is like Chipotle that serves Alchcol.

Janet A.

Yelp
Christina was a fabulous server, and the food and margaritas were delicious! Will definitely be back! Our favorite location in Ohio.
google avatar

Javiera P.

Yelp
Great food and wonderful waiter named Shannon He was attentive and was fast. Love the margaritas.
google avatar

Grop H.

Yelp
I loved the art (they used all local artists) but otherwise the seating isn't comfortable and it's loud. Server wasn't very friendly and his response to ordering multi tacos was "whoa dude, one at a time". The food was bland and no flavors really stood out for me. The margarita was average and not strong. Service was very fast but in the end 6 tacos, a margarita and tea was $38.

Versute V.

Yelp
Do not dine here during weekday happy hour. The waitress did not honor happy hour pricing and when we contacted the restaurant via their corporate office, they don't seem to care. The tacos are ok, atmosphere is chaotic and loud but the service is pretty bad or at least it was in our case. It was our first and last dining experience here.
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Quick service, good and unique flavor combinations, great vibes (cool murals all painted by local Canton artists). Would definitely come back.
google avatar

Michael G.

Yelp
The service is not very good. Very slow to get help and be seated. The food came out cold and was not good at all considering the price. Would not recommend.

Yelp
If you are looking for a chain type restaurant than this place is decent. The food was hot when it came out. We had the 3 dip appetizer with Chorizo queso, traditional guacamole and street corn. We also got a side of the verde salsa. All had an unusual sweetness to them. The guacamole looked at tasted like the stuff you get at the grocery store pureed and very salty. Chips were overly salty as well but I enjoyed the thickness of the chip itself. I asked the bartender if the dips were made fresh and her reply was they use a central kitchen commissary and the food sent in. It tasted like that. Over all, if you are looking for a fresh food tex-mex this is probably not your place. But for what it is, the food was OK and the service and atmosphere is good.

George S.

Yelp
Food all served on throw away dishes and plastic spork. I ordered a bowl and it had about a pound of rice and 5-6 little pieces of steak. I got the half side of street corn and it was in a little side maybe the size of a shot glass for $5. Food was dry . This is basically mall food court food for dine in prices. The food was set up in Chipotle fashion but sadly Chipotle is better and that's not saying much at all.

Lawrence D.

Yelp
Had lunch there today 11/6/22. Front host said there was a 20 to 25 mins wait but found a spot at the bar. However we saw a lot of tables open? Not sure why there was a 20 to 25 mins wait for 2 people only? To start the Nachos served was NOT good! Nachos was not as crunchy as other local mexican restoaurants that I tried around Canton. It doesn't have the "crisp" (not freshly cooked)? Also, I scraped the salt off the Nachos .. there's a LOT of salt on Nachos! I like salty chips -but this one had noticeable "white salt" on both sides of the Nachos? Then we ordered a "bowl" for lunch- where you pick the protein, veggies, Salsa and cheese. I ordered tequila steak in lime plus all the rest of the choices (like Chopotle bowl) ... i only have 5 strips of small-cut steak and the rest were rice & veggies (a lot of rice)? The taste was"blunt" ... as I was expecting good flavor (from a newly opened resto?) ... DISAPPONTED! Servers at the bar were awesome - they check on us - if we needed something. The bar ambiance was good but they serve beer in small pint -jars? ... I think it's too small for beer-tap? Anyway, maybe if you'll go for just drinks and not eat there (maybe just appetizers) - is ok? Not a good new restaurant?.. Hopefully they get better in time?

M P.

Yelp
The food is amazing! Try the tofu, you won't regret it! The nachos are huge! Great service and restaurant looks great too!
