New York City is the food capital of the world, and Coney Shack is hands down at the top of the list when it comes to unforgettable culinary experiences! The flavors here are unlike anything else. You get a mix of creativity, authenticity, and boldness that you just can’t find anywhere else. With so many amazing options on the menu, every bite feels like a new discovery. Trust me, there is no food like this anywhere. Coney Shack is an absolute must-visit when you’re in New York City

Quite possibly the best bite you can have in the FIDI neighborhood that isn’t a fancy restaurant. I personally love the fish tacos (be sure to tell them you want it extra fried). If I need a complete meal, I’d opt in for a bowl with pork belly and shrimp. The fish sauce is authentic and they pack in the garlic. I’ll warn you and your afternoon meetings now. It’s a must stop when you’re in the area.

Google
This place is located in “The Hungry Pearl”, kind of in the corner. It is so worth going to this place. My wife and I came and she had the noodles with beef belly, and I had a rice bowl with pork belly. Both were downright amazing. I asked Lawrence to help me figure out the sauces and I ended up with sweet chili spicy mayo, chipotle salsa roja, and Vietnamese fish sauce. Good portions and all. We also ordered their fused drinks (mango lemonade for me, guava summer peach tea for my wife) and also the veggie spring roll - fried to perfection. There’s a lot of places to try in The Hungry Pearl, but it’s going to be difficult going there once you’ve had the Coney Shack.

Google
Love this place! It was delicious. Got the pork belly garlic noodles and the pork belly was really tender and flavorful. The garlic noodles were perfectly al dente. I also appreciate the vegetables included. You can also get habanero sauce on the side if you want, which I did, which gives a nice kick to the bowl. Would definitely come back and try the other proteins.

Google
Just stumbled across this place while hungry and my god am I glad I did. Despite being indecisive as everything looked good I settled for 1 of every taco and it did not disappoint. Every taco held its own and kept getting better with each bite; but it would be rude not to mention my favourite; the fish taco was incredibly crispy and balanced, and the Pork didn’t need any introduction, it was perfect. I highly recommend and will be back

Google
This was my first time trying Coney Shack, and I have to say it was one of the best Vietnamese fusion experiences I?ve ever had. The Vietnamese honey pork belly is an absolute must-try?perfectly seasoned and full of flavor. The rice bowls were generous, loaded, and super filling, with plenty of options to choose from so you can?t really go wrong. If you?re in New York City, this is definitely a spot worth checking out.

Google
I was exploring downtown Manhattan when I stumbled upon this food hall called The Hungry Pearl—and inside, I discovered an absolute hidden gem: Coney Shack. Let me tell you, this spot is next-level Vietnamese fusion! I tried the Honey Pork Belly Rice Bowl and the Lemongrass Chicken Garlic Noodles, and wow… my taste buds were living their best life. The flavors are bold, unique, and unforgettable—nothing like anything else I’ve had in the city. Honestly, if I could give this place 10 stars, I would. Coney Shack isn’t just food, it’s an experience—and it’s a must-visit when you’re in New York City

Google
Coney shack has to be hands down the best place in the city for tacos, esp fish. I had their rice bowls the other day, and it was just as tasteful and flavorful. Would recommend and come back for sure! Customer service was great as well. All in all friendly and cool place to come eat and have good conversation!

Yelp
Ambiance - this place is located inside the food court. It is pretty big food court and many to choose Service - Clean, Clean, Clean and pretty organized. They got busy since it was lunch time. Just 2 ppl working, so they might have some wait time. but they are very friendly. one of the coworker got a complimentary water for tipping. So please Tip!! Food - it tastes very good! it is a bit on the pricy side, but it does tastes very good - worth it! I got the meal, so it came with a drink and Fries (fries or spring roll). They DONT bash frying - i like that! The portion is pretty big. The presentation are pretty too. At least it will be my go to place or my back up if I am in the area.

Yelp
Oh how I've missed them during Covid. The fish tacos are my favorite. It's crunchy and flavorful, all the flavors compliments the taco.

Yelp
The flavors of the tacos are amazing and the beverages are really creative and look amazing as well. You should try all the tacos because they are amazing even if it's a little bit pricey If you buy two or $11 plus tax so if you buy three or more, it's a better deal. The owner Lawrence is great. He's so friendly and he works so hard and this food is amazing. You have to try it and it's on the highline so it's amazing environment and you will definitely enjoy the food. Pork belly and the crunchy fish and the garlic shrimp are the tacos that we tried and they were just blasting with good aroma and flavor with the mix of cilantro and coconut milk and lime, and a multitude of other flavors that I have no idea but it was a great mix together. he has a storefront at 100 Pearl St. in Manhattan so we're definitely gonna go over there to have a nice sit down meal and try more items that we will probably enjoy as well.

Yelp
Great hot dogs and fries are amazing would love to come back again and eat this again

Yelp
YUMM. Nice service!! Def insta worthy. Located in the middle of Times Square. Tbh every time I've walked by I thought these food trucks were gonna be expensive for mediocre food. But WOW I was soooo wrong. Coney shack has south East Asian Mexican fusion foods and it's amazing. Bro look at the pics it looks so good. The cooks are young and very nice. It took a while for our food to be made but that's expected bc look how many ingredients go into each item. Pricing isn't bad. especially if you think about how you're eating basically in the middle of Times Square. -- Lemongrass Chicken Burrito: I got the sweet chili spicy mayo sauce. The burrito is really good. I wish it had some of the pickled carrots and radish or more lettuce to make it have some crunch/ different textures. Bc the rice is really savory with the sauce I got.. it was super creamy. Chicken is good and very tender. -- Chika Dog: SO. BOMB. We got the bratwurst and yea it's good. But how there's even more meat, the chicken, on top.. wow. So good. Overall 10/10 recommend!! Only con is that there's so many items on the menu that sound so good and I couldn't try them all yet. Xd xd

Yelp
I hate Times Square, but I love this food stand. It makes the dreadfulness of having to pass through this area a modicum more tolerable. The rice bowls come with the most flavorful yellow rice. I love the battered fish option, which is perfectly seasoned and crispy. A side of salad and pickled veggies round out the bowl nicely. A drizzle of spicy mayo ties it all together. I've also had their fish tacos, which are great. If you're going to get just one thing though, make it the crispy fish rice bowl.

Yelp
Came here recently with a friend. We went to the location that is right outside Times Square in a little square with a bunch of food trucks. First thing, I feel like people are saying that three tacos are $9. That is not the case. Either they very recently updated their prices, or people are getting confused. It is $5 for a taco or $12.85 for 3. I got two of the tacos. The caramelized pork and the beer battered fish. The caramelized pork was basically a bahn mi in a taco. It was quite delicious and the pork was seasoned and cooked very well. Would recommend getting this. I also got the beer battered fish taco, which was also seasoned perfectly. The fish itself was quite hefty and a good portion. I just wish there was a little less slaw. There were times where I felt like I was just eating mayo. But overall very good. My friend got the holy phuc hot dog. While I didn't try it, it looked pretty good but there was a lot of bread and my friend was able to peel off a good chunk of the bread and still finish the rest and was satisfied. The fish that came with the hot dog was quite large and the toppings looked delicious. The tacos came out a bit on the slower end of things, but I hope that that means that they were made fresh. Additionally, the eating area is a bit on the shadier side. Pigeons running fast and loose, the smell of garbage everywhere, but hey, that's NY right? Overall a pretty good experience here. Would be a hard choice between this and Los Tacos when I'm in the area but would definitely hit up this spot again.

Yelp
In a city with equal numbers of restaurants and people it's tough to find food that truly stands out above the others. Coney Shack is very good and worth trying. Service is good and it will run you about $9 bucks per person for a quick lunch or dinner. Personally I think the smart move is 3 taco deal for 9 bucks and one hotdog to share. Two people will be full and happy for under $15 bucks.

Yelp
Atmosphere: Coney Shack is a stand right by Times Square. We stopped by because their menu looked pretty interesting and their workers seemed energetic. Service: We had to wait over 20 minutes for a single taco. We asked the workers and apparently they had forgotten about our order, so we received our food after about 30 minutes. Food: We ordered the Vietnamese pork taco. It had an interesting combination of flavors. The pork was on the tougher side and the addition of a handful of raw jalapeños seemed a bit out of place. The taco was definitely 80% slaw and 20% meat, which was a bit disappointing. Overall: Our taco was okay, but we wouldn't say that it's worth the price based on the size and quality of the taco. There are definitely better places to get tacos in New York. In addition, the inconsistent service did not help the experience either.

Bruce C.

Yelp
The food was OK. Order wasn't quite correct. They rang up my order wrong twice. I paid over $20 for $14 worth of tacos and they argued with with me about it. Three dollars is not the hill I'm gonna die on, but it is the place I'm not going back to.

Tom X.

Yelp
Amazing food. Innovative and refreshing. Great service as well. I will frequent this place.

Yelp
Delicious! A tasty take on fusion tacos. Blends many of the meats of Asian cultures and the palette cleansing veggies all on a tortilla. Try the hot sauces definitely be careful unless you love heat. If you do, definitely go nuts.
google avatar

Jacky C.

Yelp
I came here to see what all of the rave with the tacos were. I got 4 tacos for about $17 with tax which is quite a deal as they let you mix a match. I tried the Vietnamese Caramelized Pork, Beer Battered Crunchy Fish, Five Spice Calamari, and the Garlic Lemongrass Chicken. I loved the Vietnamese Caramelized Pork and Beer Battered Crunchy Fish while the Five Spice Calamari was okay. I wasn't a fan of the Garlic Lemongrass Chicken. Would love to come back to have more of the fish and pork tacos as they were amazing.

Jasmin D.

Yelp
great place love the rice bowls and spring rolls. customer service is great. you have to try.

Yelp
Stopped by for hotdogs after seeing Tootsie. We got the Mach dog and the calamari dog, but I kind of wish I had just gotten a custom hotdog (somehow didn't see that on the menu until I had already paid). There was maybe a 5-10 minute wait, and the dogs were okay but not worth more than $10. I would have enjoyed a regular hotdog just as much as the overloaded, slightly dry ones we received and I don't really understand the hype. This is not a bad or hugely overpriced place to get food in Times Square, though. There are also some outdoor tables nearby so you can sit if it's not too crowded (it was probably midnight when we went so not too bad).

Yelp
I saw so many amazing photos on here for the food that I had to swing by and give it a try. Food looks just as you see in the photos but the favors just weren't there for me. I added some hot sauce and kept eating hoping to find my happy place. The portion was generous on the crunchy fish taco but again - flavor was just ok. I know it is not exactly the same but with a Los Tacos No.1 just a block or so away, there is no comparison for me.

Harry T.

Yelp
The food was delicious! I ordered the fish taco, shrimp taco, and pork belly taco. The shrimp was my absolute favorite! We couldn't get enough of the pork belly as well and decided to order a pork belly bowl, plenty of food between me and my wife. We enjoyed the food very much, thanks!
google avatar

Jessica D.

Yelp
What we ordered: Chicka Dog ($9) | Vietnamese Caramelized Pork & Calamari Rice Bowl ($13) Taste: Chicka Dog was good and lots of flavor. Same with the rice bowl. You can do half & half with two different meats for an extra $2 which was why it was $13, otherwise its $11 for a rice bowl) I thought the portion the chicka dog was a little small and not worth the $9.
google avatar

Jennifer H.

Yelp
Unique concepts for a hot dog. Bun was a bit dry. The meat of the hot dog was mediocre. The toppings were amazing. Loved the fried onions and the meat on top. Food cart location in Times Square.
google avatar

Worarit T.

Yelp
The menu was really unique because it felt like a Mexican Asian fusion but that's where it ended. I got the chicken and shrimp rice bowl and sadly both meat didn't have the flavors it described in the menu. That said, the hainan rice was actually good with a smooth taste. Expensive though and staff were alright

Yelp
This place was AMAZING! On Broadway and 42nd, a pretty busy place, but the food was amazing. Everything they had on display or on the menu had my mouth watering! The cart looks really cool, the pricing is somewhat reasonable... especially coming from a place where prices aren't so high. Also, the customer service was amazing. Lawrence, if you're still out there hustling, but you get the chance to read this, you're the best. Lawrence was the guy who rang me up and he walked me through my order, recommended options to me, and even engaged in some small talk while there were clearly people behind me. This place cares about the quality of their food, appearance, and their customers. It's a great place that I would definitely recommend and want to return to!

Yelp
I was excited to try this place. It was in an Urban Space food court. Unfortunately, when I went today, they had moved out! I will keep an eye out for their actual trucks in the future.

Yelp
Amazing executed food with a mass mix of different components. Holy phuc was amazing. Got to try everything its an amazing mix of flavor.

Yelp
So they finally started coming down to the FiDi and it was definitely worth the wait! OK, so I didn't get to try their most popular items, like the burritos or bowls, because they were out of rice, but I did help myself to a Chicka Dog for $6. First, you might ask, how do they run out of rice? Yes, there were logistic and man power problems on full display when I visited their cart the day I went. Unfortunately, they had to turn away many customers because of their lack of ingredients and, to make matters worse, they were short on people so the wait for food just grew and grew and grew. Second, $6 for a hot dog? Yes, I paid $6 for a hot dog from them and it was freaking awesome! The Chicka Dog was an all beef dog topped with garlic lemongrass chicken, pickle, diakon, cilantro, long pepper, lemongrass aioli, sweet chili spicy mayo, onions, toasted sesame. That's a lot of ingredients, but it mixed so well and it was a very delicious dog! Even though there were so many ingredients, the dog was normal sized. I wish they had cooked a jumbo dog because it would have been so much more worth it then. I'm hoping the truck visits the FiDi again sometime soon because I'm still dying to try one of their burritos as their menu made my mouth water.

Yelp
Amazing hot dogs and tacos! We happened to be around the area and wanted to eat something quick and small. Thank god for Yelp!! My friend found this place and we decided to stop by for a quick bite. We ordered the chicka dog and it was amazing!! I got to try some of the other good stuff like their tofu taco and fish taco and also amazing. This place is a hidden gem and it literally is a small shack! You must check it out!

Yelp
Damn you Food cart from the heavens! why have you been sent when I'm trying to lose weight?! today Coney Shack's Artist painted me a canvas of food similar to a Salvador Dali masterpiece. strokes of color on a pallet of tortillas, my eyes darted from left to right in a symphony of color. salivating like pavlov's dogs on command i stared at the bountiful feast before me. simply amazing. let the artist do his work, tell him you're hungry and let him pick. don't be a whiner, no greens, no onions, no this, no that. just take it like a man (or woman) and get what you get! $14.95 and I'm floating on cloud nine. the food is fantastic. service is fantastic. they take credit cards! fantastic! and it was almost 70 degrees out today. life does not get better. try this place. you'll thank me.
google avatar

Cibi A.

Yelp
2 words. Fish. Taco! I could have eaten 10 more if I stood there long enough! Also had the lemongrass chicken and the 5 spice calamari (skip this one a little low on flavor compared to the other 2). The spicy Melt was crispy and flavorful, the sauces are amazing, the chefs are super nice. I was shocked there was no wait at a stand like this but it is a ways off the boardwalk and you may not notice it unless you were looking for it. All trips to coney will now include this place too
google avatar

Celeste B.

Yelp
This was truly love at first bite! I learned about this food truck while on the super long DMV line. And after a long exhasting morning at the DMV, I exited looking for a quick bite. I noticed a small line forming at this truck and thought Id give the food a try. I chose the fish tacos based on the advice of a DMV worker on the line who definitely did not steer me wrong. The taste could be only described as pure deliciousness from the first to the last bite. Now I truly understand how one reviewer could compare these tacos to crack! I have never tried drugs but I imagine addiction coud not be far from this because I cant stop going to this truck. I even turned on my co-workers and family to these tacos. I now pray before I go that I never meet a line thats to long because theres not much that I wouldnt do for these tacos.
google avatar

Yelp
Bommmmb! So good saw them making it and had to try. Was just as good as it looked. Cool place to stop by after shopping or seeing the sites.

Yelp
These guys serve up some really amazing tacos and hot dogs. I stop by there place as often as I can for their Crunchy Fish tacos - just can't get enough of them. I have tried the other tacos as well, and while they are all very very good I always come back tot he crunchy fish. The service is super friendly as well. They love to make small talk and joke around about their collection of hot sauces available for you to try on your tacos. Now if hey say one of those sauces are spicy take them at their word and be careful or you might end up not being able to taste anything for an hour and sweating profusely. I warned you, and they probably did too. If you can't find the time to visit their location in Coney Island you will be happy to learn they participate in the LIC Flea and Food (in Queens), Broadway Bites (38th & Broadway), and the Bryant Park Winter Market. These markets open up at various times throughout the year so make sure you look up the times in advance.
google avatar

Annie N.

Yelp
Not sure if they closed down or what it is, tried going for lunch for the past month and there was a sign up every time saying under maintenance. Any one have any updates?
google avatar

Nicholas G.

Yelp
One of the best tacos you can have in nyc. I got the garlic chicken taco and it was unbelievable. Tortilla was fresh, the pickled daicon was a nice touch. I also tried the pork burrito. It was delicious. The tortilla was perfect and held everything to together very well. They toasted the tortilla too. The pork was delicious and flavors worked well. The only criticism is maybe there was a little too much rice in it but it is still good! Come here if you are in coney island!

Yelp
Ooh I was craving Mexican but not some fusion Asian Mexican food which is what this place is. I couldn't find a better option on Yelp so I made me here anyways (btw, this is in the middle of Times Square in a Plaza with a couple other pop up food stands and one of them is authentic Mexican). Food - i ordered 3 tacos. Chicken, Pork, and Fish. The fish was my favorite. Probably because the chicken and pork both had the sweet chili mayo and gave off too much of a sweet taste. They had an array of hot sauces and when I say array I'm talking like 15-20+. I threw some Jamaican hot sauce on my tacos to increase the heat which was a dope sauce. It's pretty expensive though! 3 tacos were $15. Atmosphere - since it's in a plaza, there's some decent seating with umbrellas. Almost forgot I was in Times Square since the hustle and bustle was kind of out of sight.
google avatar

Andrea W.

Yelp
I got to try the fish taco at the NYC Taco Showdown event, and it was quite delicious! The outside is very crispy and the fish is fresh and tasty. Lots of vegetables complement the fish, and the sauce is light and not too overwhelming. A good balance of vegetables and meat for sure. I don't think I would be willing to pay for a taco at the actual food truck though; it doesn't seem worth it to me.
google avatar

Wedee K.

Yelp
The BEST fusion of its kind. My partner and I stumbled upon this place and have been scouting it's location closer to manhattan! They are usually located in Coney Island, but there have rumors that they are no longer there. Not to Fear! Recently, they have been popping up in the urban spaces located in the garment district near Time Square. Every time we go, we always order the Crunchy Fish Taco. The piece was fish is fried to perfection and is accompanied by a delicious sauce, slaw and green onions. At this point we've tried them all and this is the reason we always return. As for the other tacos, the Calamari is great as it is made to order along with the lemon grass grass chicken and grilled pork. They also have asian inspired hot dogs and entrees that we are also interested to try. Grade: A

Yelp
Im glad I found this place in the middle of the endless sea of fair food like funnel cakes and ice cream, not that I dont love those. But I really wanted some hot food that would hit the spot, and Im glad I found Coney Shack. This place has awesome food, the 3 tacos for $9 is definitely a good deal for the variety of flavors you get. I got the calamari taco, viet short rib taco, and the Holy Phuc hot dog. Calamari taco was my favorite, since it had the perfect amount of five spice in it. The short rib taco was tender and flavorful. The holy phuc hot dog was an explosion of different tastes and textures. The fried fish on top worked well with the torched cheese on top. There are many other items on the menu that I wouldve definitely tried in the same sitting if i wasnt limited by my stomach size and wallet. They got Hainan chicken, which I love but rarely see outside of restaurants. Its cool to see them have this as most asian fusion taco places generally have the same food combos. Next time I must try more. Seating is limited to two picnic tables as it is outside, but its not uncommon to see customers eat standing in front of the cart. Thankfully this place is practically next to the beach, so taking your food to go eat on the beach would not be a bad idea.

Yelp
An outing into Coney Island with the fiancée and what's the first thing we do? Open up Yelp and see what's good out here! Yes, there's the original Nathan's Famous stand but I've had Nathan's. We don't venture out often to Coney Island--shoot, it's our first time--but we wanted to try something good. Something delicious. Enter Coney Shack. You can't argue with its high rating cause it deserves it. (!) WHAT WE GOT: The three taco special: Lemongrass chicken; Vietnamese shortrib; Crunchy fish, and the Holy Phuc hot dog (!) HOW IT DID: The tacos (3 for $9)... oh my goodness, they were amazing! My honeybunny, who's Vietnamese herself, was skeptical and wondered how these Vietnamese ingredients would do on a taco. She, like me, was very impressed by all of them but was pleasantly surprised by the lemongrass chicken. She said she'd never been down for a chicken taco but I was like, "Bebz, have you never tried DelTaco's chicken tacos?? Come on..." The Holy Phuc ($5), I don't know if it was that we were kind of full already but I thought it was too much.... would've traded that one for another order of tacos haha. (!) WHERE IT'S AT: It's not a flashy stand. Honestly I was worried we passed it or it was closed but it's past the police and fire station. It's located at the end of a parking lot past another food stand. (!) TIDBITS: $9 card minimum, but I presume you could get cash at this store next door but I'm not sure. Or better yet, if you don't meet the minimum, order more tacos. You won't have any regrets!

Andrew S.

Yelp
To my surprise the name Coney shack is kind of deceiving being a native New Yorker. With Coney Island and Coney dogs being a thing for my travels I was expecting something a little more traditional. But not to disappoint being a Mexican Asian American fusion place turned out to be a welcoming surprise they have everything from tacos to a full-blown meals. The young server had the flair and speed of a true chef. My taco hit the spot and my meal was fantastic all I can say is the prices are reasonable for the high quality food and portion you will receive. Living in Columbus Circle will make this place one of my go-to spots.

Yelp
I missed my chance to go to Coney Shack last summer, back when it was consistently listed as one of the highest rated places in Yelp Brooklyn. So I finally made my way over during the Mermaid Parade. After all, who can turn down Asian fusion tacos? It's one guy inside a cart parked in an alley next to a convenience store. He was supposed to open at noon, but he was running late and was super apologetic about it. Ended up waiting 20 minutes for him to open, but once he started going, food was coming out quick and it was totally worth it. They have all sorts of tacos available, at $3.50 each or three for $9. I'm a sucker for a good deal (against my stomach's better judgment), so of course I housed three tacos. I went with the beer battered fish, Vietnamese beef cube shortrib, and the garlic lemongrass chicken. That was the order I ate them in, and also the order of my prference. The fish taco was probably the best fish taco I've ever had. It was fried Asian style, so with tempura for extra crispiness. The lemongrass aioli on top was just wonderful. All the flavors went together really well. The shortrib taco was good, but was way overshadowed by the fish. The beef was marinated well and the spicy mayo gave it a kick. Would do that one again. The lemongrass chicken taco was kind of boring, but was a solid taco. Love that they have a ton of hot sauces available for you to use. There's also a picnic bench in the parking lot so you don't have to stand around and eat like a loser. All in all, the praise that Coney Shack gets is well deserved!

Yelp
Never knew this place existed even though it's so close to my home. The only reasons you would come to this area is because you had to go to the dmv or the aquarium. All respectable reasons. Now people come to get their taco fix. I came here because I was craving fish tacos. They do it justice and with a southeast Asian twist, eg basa fish, lemongrass aioli. Crunchy and sufficiently meaty bites. The guy working the stand told me that they intentionally single layer the flour tortilla. It definitely puts the focus on the fillings which is great. The short rib is also really tasty. Honestly I was pretty satisfied after eating two. Good stuff here. Catch them before they hit it big. They are already roaming midtown Manhattan so be sure to follow where they are on Twitter.

Yelp
I wasn't overly amazed about the tacos that i ordered which were the fish, pork belly and Vietnamese steak. The meats themselves were fairly bland and the slaw was what hid any lack of flavor in the meat. Service was good for me, but not so much for my friend. She had to wait for hers after we heard them ask "what did she order again" three times and not even a polite apology for making us wait 15 mins after getting my order. Mediocre tacos at best..

Yelp
Had the lemongrass chicken sandwich and fries. The fries were great - Crunchy on the outside and good flavor. The fact that I started with the fries is not good. The chicken sandwich...let's start with all the bread - for us old schoolers, like the commerical says, "where's the beef?" The bread wasn't desirable. Now for the chicken...I took my sandwich back because I thought I had received pork...wtf! It was pieces of some dark chicken parts...probably left over parts. It wasn't even flavorful. Anyway, disappointed in this NYC food experience.

Yelp
The Crunchy Tofu Tacos are no joke! So satisfying. The texture of the crunchy tofu is perfection. Plus the sauce makes the tacos even more amazing. Service was quick and there was barely any line. Although, I am referring to the Coney Shack at the Long Island City Flea. Even if there was a line though, it would be totally worth waiting in for these tacos. Will be back for more without a doubt.

Yelp
Oh hot dayum. Long story short: just go, words fail me. Amazing and cheap, perfect for any foodie! The fusion is divine and the quality is impeccable! 3 gourmet tacos for 9 and the Holy phuc hotdog (name fits your first bite reaction) was $5 The guy in the truck on this particular day was so nice and humble!

Yelp
Coney Shacks Fish Tacos Ruined My Life! Ok, maybe that is a bit of an exaggeration, but the fish tacos at Coney Shack have heavily altered my lunch habits in the last 2 months or so, maybe for the better? Tacos: On a standard day you have 6 tacos to choose from on their menu (3 for $11) if they have all the ingredients and you can mix and match them in any way you choose. My personal favorite is the fish taco (if you haven't figured that out by now). The crispy flakiness of the beer battered layer pairs to near perfection with all the other ingredients. The fish is soft and cooked just right. It is their #1 seller and has made its way into my heart. Other major winners are the tofu, short rib and calamari tacos. The tofu is soft and gooey on the inside with a thin layer of deep fried goodness to hold it all together. I could go into deeper details on all the tacos, but I'm trying to keep this review under 2,000 words. Hot Dogs: Generous portions of toppings. Calamari is the top dog here. Overall: 4.5 Stars The 3 for $11 deal is a good portioned lunch and it should/will satisfy you until your next meal. It has been a while since a food truck so caught my attention and forced me to change my planned lunch for the day when I noticed they are in the area. Make sure to arrive to their food truck location before 1:00pm! They recently increased the quantity of fish they bring for the tacos, but they still disappear quickly and I have been distraught the 2-3 times it has occurred to me (this was before they increased their inventory). If you find them near you, cancel all your previous lunch plans and pay them a visit! You won't regret it! Now if only I was able to check-in to their food truck from midtown. Here is their twitter so you can follow their every move and get lunch. Just make sure not to order too many fish tacos just in case I arrive there a little late for lunch. https://twitter.com/ConeyShack

Yelp
Cinco de Mayo means I need tacos today.. I confess I'm more a traditional Mexican taco type of guy, and was searching for those, but short on time, in the neighborhood, so went out on a limb here.. And do glad I did!! Consider theses tacos the creme de la creme of the taco world. Gourmet style ingredients and combinations that would be entrees at a traditional resturant, portioned out to fill fresh soft tortias. I did an order of the short ribs, garlic pork, calamari, and the crunchy fish.. My favorites were the crunchy fish, which was awesome due to the textures and flavor contrasts of it, I see more of these in my future. The fish was perfect, fresh & crunchy.. The garlic pork being a close second, very flavorful, easily eaten without worry of any tender morsels escaping, a problem I had with the calamari and short ribs.. The calamari themselves were awesome and should be sold by alone, unadulterated.. Maybe with a little dipping sauce.. It's that good. Even though I ate four tacos, I don't feel as if I'm weighted down or binged on junk food, as some taco experiences have in the past. The tacos are topped with all the freshest ingredients, many veggies, so I guess they provide balance to the bolder ingredients, and make me feel I made a heathy choice. Definitely check them out if your in the area.
