I was in Detroit for the weekend and craving a good gyro. I found this spot through Google and decided to give it a try — even though it was a 39-minute drive, it was totally worth it! I ordered the gyro and a Philly cheesesteak with extra grilled jalapeños — both were packed with flavor. The Philly was a solid 10/10. The fries were also crispy and tasty. It took about 15–20 minutes for the food to be ready, but it was definitely worth the wait. The place isn’t fine dining, but it’s clean with decent seating. It’s not really a family-style environment, more of a casual quick-bite spot. There’s also some parking available behind the store. I also tried the chicken roll — delicious! Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and craving flavorful fast food.

Coney Star Halal Kitchen in Detroit is truly a hidden gem. I’ve tried the majority of their menu, and everything has been exceptional. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and perfectly seasoned — you can tell they take pride in every dish they serve. I honestly feel like this is a knockoff of a real Coney Island! They only serve beef and turkey bacon which is understandable but they need to make sure that they food is well done because my fries was not fully cooked and neither was the chili I had on the fries and there was no cheese on my chili cheese fries! I will not be coming back

This is me stopping what I’m doing because I am genuinely moved. This was a DoorDash delivery order and I swear to God nothing was off. Not the food. Not the packaging. Not the presentation. Everything was clean, intentional, beautiful, and done with pride. You can feel when food is made by people who care. This was that. But the service… listen. They answered the phone immediately. Professional. Kind. Present. And then this man called me back just to confirm my order. Do you understand how rare that is? I have never experienced that in my life. Ever. And I’ve ordered food all over this state. That call alone told me everything I needed to know about who he is and how he runs his business. It didn’t feel transactional. It felt human. It felt like gratitude. It felt like someone saying, “Thank you for trusting us.” And that hit me. Because it made me realize how many places don’t care — and how LOUD it is when someone does. This is easily one of the best restaurants in Metro Detroit and the fact that they are 24 HOURS is wild. Midnight, 3 a.m., early morning, whenever — if you want high-quality, real, satisfying food, this is where you order. And yes — HALAL 🙏🏾, which matters more than people understand. The space itself is new, clean, beautiful, and intentional. The aesthetic is peaceful and elevated. Everything about this place says: we’re proud of what we’re building. There is nothing like this in the city right now. These are good people doing honest work with heart. You can feel it in how they serve, how they speak, how they show up. I pray this kitchen will continue to move with pride and excellence. I pray this place stays busy, protected, and blessed. Because places like this deserve to win — not just seasonally, but all year round. God is great! Many blessings! BRAVO. If you’re craving a classic Coney but want it halal, this spot totally delivers. The second you walk in, you get that old-school Coney vibe — simple, quick, and comforting — but the food tastes way fresher as well. Plus, they’re open 24/7 and they’ve got over 100 items on the menu, so there’s always something new to try.

I was excited to see a Halal Kitchen in the area. I been there twice since 1rst hearing the news of this location. I look forward to trying several items on the menu. So far so good. Keep it up. 😋👌🏾

Detroit does not play when it comes to Coney! Coney Star is top-tier! I have enjoyed everything I've ordered from there! i highly recommend it.

Naga chicken wings my favorite. Good people and good service. They open 24h so especially getting out from work midnight you can find these people ready to serve you.

An excellent addition to Banglatown! Star Coney opened recently as the only coney in the area that is fully halal, joining only a couple of others anywhere in Metro Detroit. Even better, Star is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, which has become a rare and precious thing now that COVID has flung our dining options back by 25 years. (Star had more limited hours when they first opened and were ramping up, but are now at full 24/7 operation.) I stopped by with two friends late on a Saturday night after celebrating's a friend's birthday down the street in Hamtramck. Star's parking lot was brightly lit and is near a high-traffic intersection (Conant & Davison), and the lobby/dining room inside is also brightly lit even late at night. They have a big and diverse menu, even compared to most other coneys. You'll find most of the expected standards here -- breakfast plates, omelettes, and sandwiches; burgers and hot sandwiches; coney dogs; fried appetizers. But there's also quite a few dishes not found at other coneys: chicken wings; burgers, hot dogs, and chicken sandwiches made with naga pepper sauce; chicken tikka sandwiches; but perhaps best of them all are five different kinds of egg rolls, which are large and well-stuffed. I had loaded hashbrowns, chicken tikka egg rolls, and a naga dog. My tablemates had Philly steak egg rolls, a burger, and a breakfast sandwich. We were all happy with everything we got, and I'll gladly go back again even when it's not a post-bar stop. Glad to have you in the neighborhood, Star!

Had the late night cravings the other day and found this gem open at 2am. Drove down here and got some naga wings and bbq wings. Have to say was pleasantly surprised how great the naga wings were! I will definitely be back for more. Coney star is open 24/7 and has a dine in seating area.

The food here is banging! Must try all the eggrolls, especially corn beef one. 100% halal and will be open 24 hours. Finally, the community needed this!
