"Also drank a seltzer with Zeigler’s apple cider, and bites of different treats from Confectionery: oat bar, salted turtle, chocolate chip walnut cookie. It’s vegan candy treats, it doesn’t sound like it’d be particularly exciting. Brooks put me on to it. It’s become a go-to spot, everything there for me is great."

This place is a chefs kiss for everyone, but especially anyone vegan or dairy free. As a dairy free gal I have had my fair share of dry, underwhelming desserts elsewhere and let me tell you the items at Confectionery are phenomenal. These truly taste like regular baked goods, they do not taste “vegan”! We tried a lemon cake, chocolate chip cookie and strawberry rhubarb tart. Can’t wait to come back to try more like the macarons. This place is a must try!!

Google
Adorable vegan shop!! Nice costumer service!! The macaron are really cute and delicious ( I am a French pastry chef) I also tried some cookies!! Loved the texture and taste!

I’ve been here a bunch of times and decided while I was nibbling that it was sooooooo good that I needed to return the favor with a review. Everything I’ve tried here is just so expertly crafted and delicious w/ great flavors! You can def taste the freshness and quality 🤤🥰 The staff are super friendly, but my favorite is the manager. She’s the sweetest person with the best laugh, she always makes me smile.. omg. I just love coming here. Thanks guys ♥️ If the staff is reading this you might be able to tell who I am just by my order! lol 👀😂 Key lime macaron and ALL of the browniessss

Google
Absolutely incredible. Best cookies I have ever had. The gluten-free cookies are somehow especially delicious. Macarons and cakes are also a hit! Can’t believe how affordable the prices are for the quality here. I love Confectionery!

Google
wowowow! I am from out of state and every trip requires a necessary (or two) trip to the confectionery! as someone with a major sweet tooth with gluten and dairy intolerances, this is seriously the best bakery around in the city! highly recommend!

Google
My experience with the baked goods were kinda off putting. The tarts were soggy and I loved the flavors of everything but I am not a fan of soft cookies. May be I was there in a wrong time! Looking forward to this place and giving it one more shot

Google
Such amazing vegan sweets! Every single item is so delicious, from their chocolates to macarons. Their caramel is my favorite, especially in their candy bars (the peanut butter one is like an even yummier vegan Snickers). Their macarons are beautifully chewy (I got the mango sticky rice, vanilla latte, churro, and strawberry milk). You will not regret trying this place! I will definitely be coming back to try every single item on the menu.

Google
Everyone is so nice—their philosophy is in line with mine—it so cute in there. MOST IMPORTANTLY—the confections are AMAZING! Honestly—I wasn’t ready for the flavors being so delicious. 100% recommend. Also, they are so affordable IMO.

Yelp
I have gotten many wonderful things in person and delivered. All of the sweets are delicious, and there is the added advantage that you never worry about the "gamey" flavor you sometimes get from baked goods that use animal products that have turned. Also, the cake and cookies look wonderful and were thoughtfully packaged. Ask the kids say, "would recommend." The store itself is nice but you can rest assured delivery is very flexible and you get what you want.

Yelp
The blackberry pistachio frangipane tart is the most insane thing I have ever tasted. 1000/10 The staff were so nice too!

Yelp
The cookie was in between crunchy and too soft(still slight crunch/softness). Delicious (didn't seem too sweet) and enjoyed eating the orange on top. It had a sort of dough texture(which is the middle circle) and is visible when bitten..

Yelp
Best vegan bakery in EV! Every valentines & Bday my husband gets me sweets from here bc he knows how much I love it. Sometimes he does an assortment of the candies. Sometimes on Valentine's Day, they make their own chocolate bars and my birthday. He gets the mini cakes. I've never been disappointed

Tina H.

Yelp
Such amazing vegan sweets! Every single item is so delicious, from their chocolates to macarons. Their caramel is my favorite, especially in their candy bars (the peanut butter one is like an even yummier vegan Snickers). Their macarons are beautifully chewy and are even better than some non-vegan ones I've had in the past. You will not regret trying this place! I will definitely be coming back to try every single item on the menu.

Yelp
I've only heard good things about this place but I was underwhelmed.. Most of the stuff we tried was very dry. The snickerdoodle cookie i had was delicious but everything else was dry and lacked flavor. I'd skip in the future. Service was amazing - the person working was super sweet and helpful. There's no seating and is a very small shop.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in NYC. I love the staff, love the goods, love it all. It's a good day when I pick up from Confectionery.

Yelp
I discovered this spot 3 years ago when I went dairy and gluten free. When I had their macarons, I never wanted to have macarons anywhere else. I am so loyal to this spot because they have incredible flavors and beautiful presented macarons. Some of their seasonal flavors and other treats (strawberry icecream sandwiches) are to die for! I come here on special occasions because I know I wouldn't be able to limit myself on one treat! I may not be gluten and dairy free anymore but this place will continue to be my go to!

Yelp
Whenever I make a trip to NYC...always make it a point to stop by the Confectionery to pick up some sweets for the family. They are the best!! Love the shop as well, especially the Mitvah board, where you can pre-pay a sweet treat for anyone who might be in need of one. Definitely recommend it to anyone who loves to walk the city streets!!
google avatar

Yelp
Delicious all vegan bakery. We got the pumpkin maple cookie with white chocolate frosting, the s'mores cookie, and the caramel turtle. All three were fantastic but the cupcake was by far my favorite - seasonal and delicious, with a good ratio of frosting to cupcake. They have a really nice "mitzvah wall" where customers can pay it forward for someone in a certain circumstance to get a baked good. I can't wait to return!

Yelp
It's probably good that I don't live new in New York or close to this location. I would go there all the time and buy all the things. Inside they have a variety of packaged goodies that you could take home with you. They also have a case of chocolates and pastries. I decided to get a box of vegan chocolates so great that everything in here is Vegan! I got a mix of dark chocolate and milk a variety of different flavors like butterscotch and caramel, peanut butter cup. Everything was so delicious so glad I got to try. I forgot to take a picture but I did get a oat bar I think it was raspberry and it was so delicious. I had it on my flight back to California and it was so satisfying. If you are looking for delicious vegan chocolate vegan dessert or other vegan goodies this is the place to go. I could also see this being a great gift for friends or family. Everything was delicious and high-quality. The staff is also super nice.

Yelp
Do yourself a favor and get the pistachio cookie from here. It's not a punch of pistachio but it's everything you want in a sugar cookie with a hint of pistachio. The texture of this cookie is amazing, it's crunchy on the edges and chewy on the inside. Midday snack or after dinner treat, get this cookie. Chocolates are delicious too.

Yelp
There are very few places I enjoy more than a quaint & cozy bake shop. Confectionery is just that - a small shop that offers big bold flavors. Their macarons are vegan and have a bit more bite than a traditional macaron, but that adds to the unique twist that this shop can offer. It seems that they have rotating flavors each day which gives me an excuse to come back one day.
google avatar

Mandy K.

Yelp
Delicate sweets, chocolates, and baked goods mostly made with evaporated sugar cane juice or maple sugar. Super friendly and attentive service.

Yelp
This little shop never fails to astound me. Every time I visit NYC I make sure to stop by for their vegan macarons. They had 10+ flavors including vanilla latte, Oreo, matcha, lavender, eucalyptus, chocolate, Darjeeling lemon, and others! I got a box of 8 for $20 and they were heavenly and delicious, as usually, even 2 days after I bought them. They also have shelves of other things you can purchase such as vegan salami, giftable chocolates, savory pistachio nuts, cook books, rolling pins, and iron-on patches. Excellent service too!

Annamarie M.

Yelp
I ordered a bunch for a client's baby shower, and the team was incredibly helpful in working with me to achieve the color scheme she wanted. They can packaged in a very sturdy form fitting plastic clamshell within a cardboard box, which was easy to store and transport. The decorations were so so cute and they were absolutely delicious! We'll definitely order again.

Yelp
Amazing selection and super friendly staff definitely one of my New fav spots I randomly stumbled in walking by because it looked so good through the window but i'm vegan so I was nervous if they had anything and realized it's entirely vegan and I fell in love definitely a must try

Yelp
What a cutie little vegan bakery!!! I was so pleasantly surprised by this spot, definitely swing by if you have a sweet tooth. Very unassuming but very good. I got the pistachio cookie and a few macarons, but the pistachio cookie blew me away. One of the best cookies I've ever hard?? Macarons were fine, but wouldn't go out of my way to get them. I liked the corn raspberry macaron though, and do have to give them props for unique flavors. I will probably return for the cookies! Also, please bring back your hot chocolate!!!

Yelp
Absolutely freaking amazing vegan chocolates. Tiny little chocolate confectionery shop which we stumbled upon recently in the East Village. Friendly staff who helped out and offered suggestions. I was shocked at how ridiculously good their chocolates are here. Many with unique flavors and gluten free options too. Some baked goods also offered. Their assortment of chocolate bark displayed on shelves lured me in and I brought a few home. Delicious. I am desperately trying to ration them out and not eat it all in one sitting. I must try their macarons next, as it seems others rave about them. They also have assorted gift boxes which you can mix and match. Yes, it's a bit pricey as can be expected for this kind of quality, but splurge and treat yourself. It's so worth it! Go here, spend money, have a chocolategasm in your mouth. Thank me later.

Kristen C.

Yelp
I have a deep obsession with Confectionery! Their macarons are gluten free and vegan and the absolute best

Yelp
First and foremost - I love the vibes in here! Everyone I've met who is behind the counter is so friendly and fantastic. Then there's the treats they offer. I've tried a variety of macaron flavors - can't say I've tried one that I didn't like yet - and I've had some of their chocolates and caramels. Everything I've had is great. After reading other reviews I realize I need to try their pistachio cookie. I did have a pistachio-cardamom macaron today that I quite enjoyed. FYI - I'm not vegan and I still choose to go here because it's the shit ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Yelp
Tasty little vegan treats on East 9th Street between 1st and A . They only allow in 1 person at a time due to Covid-19 and you must be masked but it's a nice place to try . The person behind the counter was VERY helpful and nice ! I got the Pistachio cookie and a cardamom caramel chocolate . Both were excellent and had a lot of flavor . Each was $2.50 so it isn't cheap but I always enjoy everything here . Recommended. Nice for gift giving too.
google avatar

Sasha G.

Yelp
Best vegan bakery. Best vegan macarons. I've never liked macarons before I was vegan-- these were BOMB. My favorite flavors were the lemon poppy and cardamom.
google avatar

Santi M.

Yelp
Everything I purchased here was amazing. I got a 15 piece assorted chocolate box, one of the best vegan chocolates I've ever had. Their baked good we're fantastic (crumb cake and s'mores cookie).
google avatar

Yelp
The macaroons all taste great and are super beautiful! The pecan cookie is good too! Staffs are friendly and patient.
google avatar

Estrella E.

Yelp
Pogibear recommended this place when I was craving macaroons. So I dropped by to check it out. They have assortment of treats that everyone can enjoy and everything is vegan. YASSS! The girl that works here is really nice and welcoming. They even have treats for the neighborhood dogs. So far, all the macaroons I have tried tasted delicious. I personally like the matcha, strawberry, and cherry vanilla macaroons. He also got some anatomical shaped chocolate hearts, when I was being moody and it tasted delicious. It definitely lifted up my mood. Whenever I'm in the area, will definitely stop by and get myself some treats.

Yelp
This is always a must-stop for us when we're in NYC. The Lagusta's Luscious chocolates are a favorite of my husband's (both the individual chocolates and the bars) and I love their macarons (the almond and strawberry are delicious). I don't think you can go wrong here.

Maxwell E.

Yelp
The best chocolate in nyc!!!!!! My fiancé and I come here three times a week just before they close because she loves the selection of vegan hand dipped Artisanal chocolate . I have quite a sweet tooth myself, so I sometimes indulge in some of their vegan chocolate covered bars. The tahini bar has an incredibly rare assortment of flavors. 10 out of 10 for this cute little chocolate place that makes life feel just a little brighter.

Yelp
We were on a major time crunch as we tried to beat NYC traffic from the 130s on the West side to the Lower East Side then the West Village- as our final destination. I had another Vegan spot lined up, but that other place (even though it's also located on the LES) was about 10 minutes away- and in real NYC time, factor in people twiddling their thumbs, in limbo, on phones- that wasn't gonna happen. Especially since we were cutting it close to our family dinner reservations. Already in the neighborhood, my daughter found this place. No cupcakes here- but they have an interesting selection of Vegan Sweets. Place is cute and small. Chocolate Bars on left shelf and Glass Counter filled with Macarons. I couldn't even tell you how the few Vegan products my daughter picked out tasted except for a piece of Marzipan that was quite tasty. My Mini-Me enjoyed her pastries and raved about them. Confectionery has these Sweet treats that are so healthified- you wouldn't even regret a single bite afterwards. Worth it.

Yelp
The best macaroon in New York! OMG it is soo good I'll come back for more! Location: it is near St. Mark's place! The interior is boho style and very cute! It is a small store so you just pick and go. The wallpapers are very cute and they have displays of chocolate and macaroon to go! They also have a pop up photo background that you can take pictures with! I find it cool! Service: she is very nice! I should have ask her name! But she is very enthusiastic to tell us her favorites! She dress cute too! Food: All of the flavors here is good! I want to try all of them and they are vegan!! I personally love the following flavors: lemon basil (my fave), caramel corn, matcha white chocolate, carrot cake, earl grey, chai, strawberry milk and lavender! Price rating: 8 out of 10. It's expensive but worth your money because they are good! $20 for 8 pieces. The size of the macaroons are the normal size! Definitely the best macaroon I had in my life! It's a must to come back and try other flavors! Ill come back for the churros! Lol
google avatar

Yelp
What a find! It's a vegan paradise!! I prepaid for a box of the Tahini meltaways from Lagustas and seeing they deliver to Confectionary on Wednesday's, I was able to schedule drop off on a Wednesday, super easy and this way I don't miss out of an item they seem to sell out of fast! I also picked up half a dozen macaroons to try, as Lagustas was some out of theirs. The staff is very helpful and kind, and did I mention EVERYTHING IS VEGAN?! I was giving myself a gift this time, but I definitely envision ordering gift boxes from here in the near future. Such a wonderful place, and great location just next to Tompkins Square Park, where you can sit down and enjoy your vegan treats! Support small vegan businesses, especially this one!
google avatar

Virginia D.

Yelp
As a vegan, it's been a looooong time since I've had a macaron! And my kiddo loves them, so this was a great treat :) We had 4 amazing flavors: chai, peanut butter churro, chocolate covered strawberry & lemon lavender. Lots of other chocolate bars & truffles. All vegan- yippee!!! Small, cute storefront. Countertop seating by the window. Attentive service.
google avatar

Vivian S.

Yelp
What an amazing experience! The staff there was so nice, and the macarons are amazing! Perfect treat for yourself or someone special. My favorites were the chai and pistachio flavors, but all of them were amazing. Will be coming back if I'm ever in the area!
google avatar

Roxana I.

Yelp
The woman behind the counter was super sweet and very helpful. I really loved the vibe of the place, very female forward and empowering. I couldn't believe that everything was vegan! It just made it that more impressive that they had macarons and chocolate bonbons. I bought a couple of witchy patches. The white chocolate corn bon bon was light and creamy. The dark chocolate apple tasted just like fall. But the sneaky winner here was that tahini ice cream. It was so creamy I kept staring it at in disbelief. It was like a frozen pudding frosting kind of texture with the best sweet/savory flavor. Definitely give this place a try!

Nisha K.

Yelp
Charming shop, loved the vegan chocolate so much I went online and mailed a package to my niece!
google avatar

Alice L.

Yelp
This is the best vegan dessert spot if you are craving sweets and have dietary restrictions. Highly recommend!!
google avatar

Jessie B.

Yelp
Best vegan chocolates and other sweet treats out there! I love the tahini melts ways and the caramels from Lagustas (and get them delivered regularly), but the macarons are a special treat.
google avatar

Melanie R.

Yelp
I would say these are GREAT as vegan macarons. The place was very small with maybe 3 bar stools. Each macaron is $3. Simple. The macarons were slightly more chewy than non-vegan ones I've had. The most memorable flavor I tried was the peanut butter churro. It was sooo good. Matcha was just okay. The worker recommended absinthe with (raspberry?) which I ended up really disliking.. Worth a try!
google avatar

Jessi T.

Yelp
Brought here for a birthday treat By a friend who is really neat She treated me to a flight Of 8/$20 macaron delights In the box of 9* macarons I got Packed with flavor, there was a lot The different types were creative and fun I wanted more than 9, I wanted a ton! My taste buds danced, they really sang With my heart, these macarons ran Corn and red pepper? Matcha? Black sesame? These macaron flavors were a whole new world to me! Their texture and taste were all to perfection Truly, wonderful, delightful confections! The service was also spectacularly fine *For my birthday, they gave me an extra, to make 9! I tried a churro ice cream sandwich that was also incredibly yum And while I was eating, my friend struck me dumb "All that you've been eating is vegan," she strongly declared. I was so shocked that all I did was silently stare How well these are made, without egg whites, is mind-numbing But I'm not going to think about it, I'm just going to keep coming! ---- Everyone.... seriously.... this place is DEE EEE LEE IEE CEE IEE OEE UEE SEE Delicious! I don't know why I put all those extra e's, but it's really, I mean, REALLY delicious here. And the people working here were heartwarmingly wonderful. I wanted to say 'aww' at every move they made. They were so genuine and friendly. Come here! Bring friends and family! And make sure your stomachs are empty so you can eat everything. Note: This place inspired me to write POETRY. If that's not a testament to how good this place is, I don't know what is. Now, shoo! Go!
google avatar

Rose I.

Yelp
Small shop delivering big with an ample selection of vegan sweets such as bite size chocolates, caramels, and macarons. Chocolate bars, cookies, and baked cookies like oat bars, croissants, and pastries are also available.
google avatar

Neha G.

Yelp
Tucked away in the east village are wonderful vegan macarons! Offering a variety of flavors , it was hard to choose just one! Since I went late in the day most of the other baked goods were sold out. That's a sign of a great bakery! A few cookies were still left but I opted for colorful macarons. Chewy and so yummy! I wish they offered vegan hot chocolate and had some seating. Otherwise wonderful place, great flavors, and greeted with a smile! I need to go early in the day to try the other items before they sell out.
google avatar

Anna K.

Yelp
Don't be alarm if you're a bit confused when you enter the store. The name on Yelp says Confectionery and inside you'll see 2 other names: Sweet Maresa's and Lagusta's Luscious. Sweet Maresca is their pastries and Lagusta is their chocolate line - together they are Confectionery. I came here yesterday and while I was overwhelmed by the choices, it also pleases me that there are so many vegan macaroon options. I bought 12 different flavors for $30 - each one was amazing and to be honest I can't tell the difference between vegan and non-vegan macaroons. Must try!
google avatar

Christina M.

Yelp
My best advice for you today: stop what you're doing and head over to the Confectionery immediately if you can! Confectionery has over 20 vegan macaroon options, tons of chocolates, and other desserts. Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? I'm not used to all of these options!!! :) Needless to say, I settled on a box of 12 (~$30) and as soon as they safely made it back to my hotel, I took a little bite out of all of them (I couldn't help myself). My favorites were the earl grey and the rose macaroons. Extra delicious!

Triscuit W.

Yelp
I've been to both Lagusta's Luscious and the now-closed Commissary in New Paltz many times and started going to Confectionery whenever I'm nearby. It's such a nice, sweet, pick me up when you need one, and I think a lot of us are in need of one these days. Everything I've ever had from here has been superb, both in terms of flavor and presentation. One of my favorites is the tahini ice cream--so rich and velvety! If you like chocolate, please try this, I don't think you'll be disappointed. The pistachio sugar cookie is another fave. I didn't even think I liked pistachios until I ordered this on a whim. It is so moist and rich in nutty flavor. I love all the chocolate and often give them as gifts. My old standby is the Turtle Bar for myself, but for other people, the seasonal chocolate bars with dried fruit and flowers are always a hit. Every macaron I've had has been excellent as well. Just stunning to look at in a box and delicious as well. Also deserving of a shoutout: the people that work there. They're the best. Friendly, helpful, and thoughtful!

Yelp
Confectionery is such a blessing. So many delicious treats, all vegan: macarons, filled chocolates, cookies, tarts, cake slices, full cakes, beautiful chocolate bars, ice cream bars, and many others. They have new flavors all the time. A lot of the items would make great gifts: boxes of assorted bonbons/chocolates or macarons, chocolate skull filled with chocolates, chocolate bars that look like works of art. Confectionery is a true gift to the city.
google avatar

Yelp
What a gift to the vegan world!! Never thought I would get to try vegan macarons until I found Sweet Maresa's. She is an amazing baker who has discovered the secret to making delicious vegan macarons. I'm so happy she has a store front now There is a plethora of flavors to choose from. I recommend coconut, almond, mocha, smores , matcha, creme brulee. The flavors rotate and many are unique !! I've never had a regular macaron since I'm vegan so I can't compare, but I've gifted these to my non vegan friends and they say they can't tell it's vegan at all. Some even say it is better than regular macarons and may be the best macarons they've had. Price wise 4 macarons are $11. Not really priced up from non vegan macarons. They also have cookies baked by Maresa. Her baking skills are on point so all the cookies are great. She also makes special pies for the holidays. The sweet potato marshmallow pie blew my mind!! You can also order custom cakes I believe. Confectionery also has gourmet vegan chocolates. I haven't tried them yet but there is a huge selection of unique chocolate. A little on the pricey side though Definitely check this out in the east village !!
google avatar

Paul W.

Yelp
Confectionery is a tiny but pleasant vegan sweet shop in the East Village. I mainly go there for the awesome macarons and cake by Sweet Maresa's. The macaron selection is huge so multiple visits are necessary. I've shared the macarons, cakes and cookies with my non-vegan friends and everybody agrees that there's no appreciable difference between these and ones made with eggs and dairy. The wonderful thing about businesses like these is they prove that it's no longer necessary to exploit animals for our pleasure. Besides the tasty treats by Sweet Maresa's, Confectionery also carries chocolates, truffles and candies by Lagusta's Luscious. The women who work here are really friendly and helpful. All in all, a business that anybody can support with joy. Go there!

Saira K.

Yelp
Very cute shop of treats. The original is in New Paltz. Brenna was friendly and happy to be working there. She had samples of their peanut butter churro macarons. They were good. I liked the mitzvah wall and the little rainbow piñata. It's a happy place with a good vibe. It's also very close to Tompkins Square Park. I had their homemade shortbread. It was the best shortbread I've ever had, and shortbread is my favorite cookie so I eat it often. It was packed so nicely with a little sticker.

Yelp
Love the sweets here and guess what all vegan yay! 4 macrons And the almond cookie which was delicious Carrot cake ( yummy ) Strawberry milk ( yummy ) Pistachio ( favorite ) Lemongrass ( not that great) Definitely going back
