The Best Asian Bakeries In Atlanta

"Confections opened in 2020, quickly gained popularity, and now has three locations in north Metro Atlanta. Their Duluth cafe is in a strip mall next to Sambong Naengmyun, which is equally busy, so come early for easier parking and before bakery items sell out. While a cupcake might sound underwhelming in a lineup of more interesting pastries, get one if it’s in stock. Think sponge cake filled with cream cheese filling and topped with even more cream cheese and Biscoff cookie crumbs—it’s our favorite item here. And if you’re in the mood for something savory, we recommend their onion king brioche stuffed with ham, egg salad, and arugula. And we love that the interior of the cafe reminds us of an outdoor patio with plants and many tables donning umbrellas. " - candy hom

Every time I walk into Confections, I’m greeted by such a relaxed and cozy atmosphere. I always take a look around to see if there are any new breads or items I haven’t tried yet. This time, I tried the BLT Sandwich combo, and I absolutely loved it. The flavor really suited my taste, and it felt like a healthy choice as well. The triple mushroom bread and crab stick bread are still my must-buys every visit. The cupcakes were also excellent. Definitely coming back again.

Love everything about this bakery. The esthetics are beautiful, the decor is superb, the selections are many and the vibe is perfect. Oh, and the coffee is fabulous when paired with tiramisu. Yum!!

Google
I tried the strawberry mango cake along with a citron lemon ade, and both were delicious! The cake was light, fresh, and not overly sweet 🍰 the strawberry and mango flavors balanced each other really well🍓🥭 The citron lemon ade was refreshing with just the right amount of tartness, making it a perfect match with the cake. The café itself had a cozy and welcoming vibe, making it a nice spot to relax and enjoy dessert. I’d definitely come back to try more items on the menu!

Take out | Breakfast Arrived in Georgia for the holiday, before going to the house, I had to come to this staple bakery (Duluth location) !! Been here before during a previous visit and im hooked! So good, everything made the morning of, staff is incredibly helpful and nice. Whats my favorite thing? Uhmm…i just bought more than 10 items because I couldnt decide on just one…love love love it!

If you absolutely want bakery items from Confections, I would strongly recommend you visit the Suwanee location for better service, cleaner dining area and quieter environment. This location in Duluth has steadily gone downhill in their level of customer service and cleanliness. Just look at my pictures and video. That was from just wiping the table surface a few times. I saw one staff member take a used food tray that was left by a customer get placed back in the clean tray stack near the bakery items without being washed or cleaned. Absolutely disgusting. Duluth City inspector should come inspect this place before people get sick.

Google
This is a nice place to visit and have a chat with friends or family. You can also enjoy their breakfast menu, sit and take a bite of a delicious cake or pastry with a nice cup of coffee. The staff were very kind, helpful, and patient. They have some specialty coffees which were AMAZING! HANDS DOWN TO THEIR COFFEE! The decor is very beautiful and the place has a nice vibe. I highly recommend this place and will definitely come back.

Google
From the moment you walk into Confections, you know you're somewhere special. The smell of fresh-baked pastries and rich coffee is absolutely intoxicating! I've been searching for a bakery this good for ages, and Confections blows everyone else out of the water. We tried a bit of everything: the croissants were flaky and buttery, the chocolate cornets were decadent (that filling!), and the custom cake we ordered for a birthday was not only stunningly beautiful but genuinely the most delicious cake I've ever had. You can taste the quality and the love baked into every single item. The staff are also incredibly warm and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. Whether you're grabbing a quick morning pastry, settling in with a latte and a good book, or ordering a masterpiece for a special occasion, Confections is the place to go. Duluth is so lucky to have this treasure! 10/10, will be back again and again.

Google
Food was good. It did not look good to see a person who use da bakery table as his office. It diminishes the quality of atmosphere of the bakery.

Yelp
-Parking here is always available but it's so busy. - The bakery is busy at 3pm on a Saturday. So busy that there weren't much of an option for me to pick. I have had their carrots cake and it's the best carrot cake I have ever had. So I wasn't surprised when she told me it was sold out. I ended up with a strawberry cake instead. I need had a chance to try it but it looks so cute. - Inside is ready clean. The space is big and bright. It was a little loud from the crowd so it'll be a fun place to hang with your friend's group. I will have to come back for more feedback because to be honest I was intimidated by the crowd so I just went in and out. 4 stars is because there were not many options so if I come back maybe I'll leave an update!

Yelp
Good environment, good service, good music. Nice place to study or chit chat.

Yelp
This is for their cake - a fancy option that's more focused on packaging vs. contents; maybe have spent a good amount of cost into the packaging itself. Had a strawberry & blueberry cake; strawberry tastes fresh like a spring radish and blueberry tasted fresh outta Costco plastic box, that you can even taste the water runoff that tastes like tap water with hints of blueberry. No tastes or flavors of any sweetness, good for your diet. You can send the baker a thank you note for his thoughtfulness. Yay, great packaging though!

Yelp
Parking can be a difficult because it's a pretty busy plaza in general even with a bunch of spaces but it's probably much better on weekdays during more "off hours". The space is bigger than I thought it would be, gives off a European feel with the type of tables and chairs they have set up. I've only been on weekends and it's always been super busy with people. I think most Korean/asian type bakeries have increased prices for their goods now. Also, not sure when the best time to go is because it's a hit or miss for what they have out and available. I'm assuming first thing in the morning is best? I've been in during earlier afternoons and have been disappointed that not everything was there. What really drew me here was that they have salt bread! Had it in Korea and fell in love. Such a simple thing, but there's something about it that makes me want to keep eating it. Also tried their Oreo croissant, the filling was DELICIOUS. The croissant was a big soggy but still good. Would recommend both!

Yelp
Located next to Sambong, this cute cafe is just as crowded! The iced Italian dolche cappuccino was pretty good and strong ($0.50 upcharge for iced). I like that there are an assortment of sweet and savory pastries that are fairly unique compared to the Korean bakeries around the area. We got tissue bread, a cookie croissant (can't remember what it's called by my FIL devoured it), peach bread (really nice peach flavor), and a cream mochi donut.
google avatar

Felix B.

Yelp
Food: out of the baked goods I got, the desserts are alright. Fruit tart is good, but not the best in the area. The whip cream is nice, but I wished the fruit tart had custard. Apple pie is good; not too sweet. The mochi donut got me surprised LOL. I was expecting it to be donut made of mochi flour. Instead it was a donut stuffed with mochi; which is not my preference. Mojito ade was bubbly and nice. Service: standard. Counter girl was patient with our indecisive butts lmao. Ambiance: BOOOTIFUL. Literally the most aesthetic cafe around. I feel like a bougie king even tho I'm broke af w student loans and my windows laptop studying. I did found the empty shelves weird tho and was expecting more goods inside

Yelp
Very beautiful spacious bakery with plenty of tables. Modern luxury vibe. Toaster oven also available for anyone who wants to warm up their pastries! Delicious pastries and good coffee options. Strongly recommend this bakery for dessert and coffee. Viral flat croissants are available. We got egg salad donut, Peach bread, potato bacon bread, matcha flat croissant, and confection lattes. Peach bread is must have!
google avatar

Yelp
I love this place but there is a hair in my cake Wtffffffff Literally a long hair coming out from the cookie part of the fruit tart

Yelp
This was my inaugural visit to this bakery, which happens to be their second location in Duluth. Despite it being a Sunday morning, the bakery was bustling with customers, indicating its popularity. The spacious interior and attractive decor likely contribute to its appeal, given its prime location. We opted to share a bowl of 빙수 along with some pastries. Overall, it was a positive experience.

Yelp
Great bakery addition to the Duluth area. This is located within the Satellite Shops I shopping center (next to Captain Loui). They just opened on Dec 01. Although it was busy during the opening weekend, they consistently restocked their pastries. The ambiance is modern chic with high ceilings. There is plenty of seating. The French-Korean inspired pastries were delicious-- "not too sweet". The fresh cream in their pastries is SO good. There is a wide selection of both savory and sweet pastries/sandwiches. Their cakes look so pretty as well. Can't wait to try more of their stuff!

Yelp
I heard so much about this bakery. Of course we had to try! So we went to the second location which was opened about a month ago. Clean and very nice cute cafe! Coffee is good. And baked goods look delicious. But I guess they are all so busy and no one cares to clean the tables. They keep bringing fresh stuffs. Constant customers flowing Unfortunately I think this place is overrated. Decor is so beautiful and displays are great. I bought mushroom cheese baguette. Took a bite. Bread was very chewy and cold. Not good. Too greasy. I asked if they could heat up the bread. And answer was no because they do not have oven here. Then they replaced with a new one that's fine. Fruit flies were flying around and I found a hair sticking out of egg salad. I tried and not so impressed.

Yelp
This is my second time here! The first time, I stumbled across Confections was accidental. I see a new cafe opening so of course I had to check it out after I dine at Super Pho. Upon entering, the facility is do bright that my eyes recoiled at the shining beams from the chandeliers above. Facility is aesthetically pleasing to see, there is plenty of seats and overall, the place is decently clean when there is not a rush. The food/desserts are great. There are various amount of pastries to choose from, and each and every single one of their item looks delicious. There is also a lot of foot traffic at the place, since it is new after all, so studying here might be a little difficult if you are easily distracted. Overall, I believe Confections is a great addition to the cafe scene in Duluth, however one concern I immediately notice is the health standard of the items; especially the bread that are left (open air) sitting on the massive table of goodies.

Yelp
Sooo happy and impressed by this new location of Confections! They have so many unique savory and sweet pastry options that I haven't seen anywhere else, or not all in one place - garlic baguette, egg salad sandwich, mushroom flatbread, scones, etc. Everything looked pretty filling. I prefer savory over sweet so the amount of savory options is a big plus for me. I only had the caprese croissant this time around and it was so yummy, flaky, and pesto-y! Also, their cakes are literally the best korean bakery cakes I've ever had in Georgia (also the most expensive but its worth it here, and I can't say the same for other bakeries) - and I've tried a lot of the others - White Windmill, Tous Les Jours, Sweet Hut, Paris Baguette. Their matcha mousse cake has fluffy layers of both matcha and strawberry whipped cream, the cake is light and fluffy, and there is a layer of dense matcha cream as well so this one is perfect for matcha lovers. I also had the fruit cream cake which was delicious as well. The interior is a big open space with a sort of elegant, chic vibe, plenty of seating with cute european style chairs and lots of table space. I can't wait to come back to try all the other pastries and sandwiches!

Yelp
I saw another yelper's photo of their latte and wanted to try it, turns out it's a "brown sugar marble latte" ($5.80) It was one of the best quality cold coffees I've ever had I loved it!! It was just sweet enough, strong enough, not watered down at all. The ambiance is beautiful but extremely crowded on Sunday afternoon so I'm not sure when a less busier day is but I'd love to find out. I left one star off because I am afraid to run into a hair in my pastry as I've seen a couple of photos already. I do think and suggest the business have the baking staff wear hairnets and gloves. I also took the star off because I noticed a 0.50$ charge for iced. Will come back to update the review with pastries one of these days!

Jennifer K.

Yelp
Overpriced, coffee does not taste good. Ton of people, always crowded, always well stocked. Friendly staff, clean. Clearly most people like the pastries here. I don't but that's my opinion. My parents love it here but everything is definitely on the more expensive side in comparison to other bakeries.

Kousee L.

Yelp
So the rumors are true! This place is bomb! The cakes are so light and fluffy.. not too sweet. High quality!! Service is so nice! Inside is elevated with different style chairs and tables for a nice elegant vibe. I also tried the strawberry banana smoothie.. very good flavor and nothing tastes artificial.

Yelp
My wife grabbed me a croissant when she met a friend at Confections. The croissant is amazing! It was a croissant with Oreos and cream inside!
google avatar

Leyon L.

Yelp
Extremely friendly staff with a wide ranges of pastries to choose from. Everything about the bakery and cafe is clean. A tad bit crowded but that's fine, it's usually busy. Ordered a cold brew with no ice and it was filled to the brim. A delightful experience from my end.
google avatar

Yelp
Confections offers a delightful blend of Asian and non-Asian baked goods. The Korean ownership adds a unique touch to the diverse menu. The pastries are fresh, flavorful, and showcase a fusion of culinary influences. The cozy ambiance enhances the overall experience, making it a recommended spot for those seeking variety in their bakery choices.
google avatar

Kaitlin T.

Yelp
I saw those cream filled buns on Tiktok and knew I had to try this place! There is a great selection of both sweet and savory pastries here, so much that it's almost overwhelming. They have the classic slightly sweet light and fluffy buns and sponge cakes that you'd expect from an Asian bakery. The beautiful decorations and aesthetic food and drinks make a perfect photo op too. The service was also very nice and workers offered to walk first timers through all the different choices. Breakfast and coffee in this beautiful bakery for under $10 is a steal!
google avatar

Yelp
Saw that the grand opening sign was up and decided to check the place out. It's well lit on the inside with plenty of seating. Since it is the holidays they had a nice Christmas tree and other decorations. I decided to check out the dessert display. They have many premium cake selections like tiramisu, green tea cheese mousse, and others. There are also some in the display case that weren't on the menu. If something looks interesting point and ask. I decided to go with one of the options that wasn't on the menu. A triple mousse chocolate cake from the look of it. Checking out was fast and easy. The staff are very friendly. Not much else to say about to go service. The cake was finely decorated and tastes as good as it looks. You can never have enough dessert places and Confections is a great addition to the area.

Sarah G.

Yelp
I got this strawberry and mango cake for my friend's party. There was barely any cake but 3 very very thick layers of cream. The cake was sweeter than typical Asian cakes, and was rich because of all the cream. It was $44 plus tax and plus tips. I paid over $55 for cream, and we threw it away after a few bites. It was disappointing. Their americano was good though.
google avatar

Raine S.

Yelp
A very chic bakery indeed. It's very aesthetically pleasing to the eyes and a good get together spot for some sweet and savory breads. My favorite is their Mochi Cream and Regular Donuts because they actually put Mochi with red bean filling inside the sweet dough! Been looking for baked goods that incorporate Mochi and this was unique. Tried the Sausage Dog bread which was a bit too much on the sweetness to me for a savory like bread and the Caprese toast was just alright; light taste but makes sense given its ingredients. I guess I wish it had more salt? If that makes sense. Overall I really like their cream items and will try some more another time!
google avatar

Claire H.

Yelp
I saw a lot of social media posts and heard many good reviews, so decided to come here after lunch today. There's a lot of nice seatings here, and a variety of bread to choose from. I got the almond and cheese tart which was very crispy and sweet, and the strawberry and cream croissant. To drink, I got the americano and mojito ade. The total was around $30, which is expensive for a cafe, but worth the experience. The only downside besides the expensiveness is the noise. It can get loud at times, but it's really just like any other Korean bakery. But overall, good experience and nice aesthetic here!

J M.

Yelp
Good Korean coffee but they had NO AC during my last visit! The thermostat read 86 degrees inside!! Avoid until AC is fixed unless you want to cook! Korean style house iced coffee is good, but get it to go!

A F.

Yelp
I came early in the morning needing a morning pick me up, and I got the sausage bread pastry and it was really savory and delicious. I'll be back to try their coffee on the way to work
google avatar

Chloe C.

Yelp
Very spacious Korean cafe in Duluth. Pastries looked so yummy. It is a bit pricey. I got the cream bread and it was priced at $8. Pastries are definitely considered decadent here
google avatar

Sally H.

Yelp
Confections was fun to go to! It was quite packed and it was difficult to get a seat after getting our drinks and food; however, I personally enjoyed the pastries!
google avatar

Eva G.

Yelp
The Confection Bakery interior is warming modern design with a friendly atmosphere vibe. The Nutella bread was yummy, the almond chocolate croissant was tasty, and the tiramisu cake was to die for!

Linda S.

Yelp
I would recommend the multi grain sliced bread. Priced well compared to many other korean bakeries and tastes amazing. The mushroom pastry is really delicious, especially when it's fresh out of the oven. If you heat it up in the air fryer, it tastes just as good. The sweet pastries are a bit overpriced, even by korean bakery standards. The matcha strawberry cake tastes hideous, I don't recommend it and I like matching flavored stuff. Lastly, the Suwanee location at McGinnis Ferry has much fresher and tastier breads than the Duluth location.

Julian H.

Yelp
I had a chocolate roll cake?(sponge cake with filling inside). Anyways the bread quality was ok. The bread was quite dense and tough making it tiring to chew. The filling was bland and there was too much of it in my opinion. They seem to have put effort in the presentation of their products and the design of the place, it's a shame they didn't put the same effort into the quality of their products.

Christy S.

Yelp
The food is amazing!! If you've ever lived in Asia, you've probably been missing the amazing bakeries there. Confections Bakery & Cafe captures that ambiance and creates delicious bread and pastries that remind me of when I lived in Japan.
google avatar

Toni L.

Yelp
PSA They're closed on Monday! But i absolutely love this place! Every time im in town, I always have to make a trip here.
google avatar

Elia K.

Yelp
The Coffee, baked goods, and cakes are out of this world! I go here to buy cakes, get my coffee fix, and baked goods cravings fixed. You won't regret getting the cakes and they are packaged in a really nice carrier.

Hong C.

Yelp
I came here six miles just for confections crème late this is second time in two months i think they don't have it again, i have to get Americano instead What a place Sooo disappointed

April W.

Yelp
The place was not packed yet when I arrived at 8:45 AM. It was great service and the food was mostly cupcakes, breads, and pastries that I saw here. I had some pastries they were delicious. Also the staff was really kind and friendly I stayed till 12:30 noon and then left. I was mostly there to check out the food they had and to some work change of scenery. If you love the European vibe this is what it felt like in the bakery.

Winne H.

Yelp
I was very impressed with this place. All their pastries, cake looked so good. However, they need to cover the pastries that are laying out on the table. There are so many sick people that are coughing, sneezing, etc...

Chris L.

Yelp
Bread is definitely really fresh and tasty. They have a lot of different options and their bread choice is very diverse. Their coffee just didn't do it for me as it tasted very burnt and bitter.
