Confiserie Sprüngli is a lovely stop for sweets and warm drinks in Zürich. We tried a few different items, and overall had a really good experience. The Americano was solid and well-balanced, and the hot chocolate espresso was rich and delicious. The chestnut latte definitely had an authentic chestnut flavor, but the texture felt a bit off. It was almost like crushed chestnuts blended into the drink, so it wasn’t our favorite.
The pastries, however, were excellent. The caramel baked apple tasted just like a warm apple pie, comforting and full of flavor. The truffle cake slice was also really good — rich, smooth, and not overly sweet.
One detail I really appreciated was that the coffees came with a small piece of Sprüngli chocolate, which was a nice touch. Service was very quick and efficient, even with the café being busy.
Overall, a great spot for classic Swiss treats, quality pastries, and a cozy break in the city. And a bonus of the chocolate shop right next door to purchase some chocolates!
