Quebec's Île d'Orléans Is the Perfect Wine- and Cider-filled Fall Getaway

How To Spend a Big Fat Weekend in Québec City | Bon Appétit

"JAM TASTING! Yeah, that’s a thing I am into now that I have been to Confiturerie Tigidou on picturesque Île d'Orléans. A quick drive over a bridge from Québec City (and past more strawberry stands than you can count), you’ll arrive at a place wholly dedicated to jam. Peruse the shop, then let owner Vincent Paris guide you through a short but very sweet tasting. I tried a rhubarb-strawberry morning jam (there’s no pectin added, so it has a looser consistency), a barely sweet lemon-strawberry jam, and a tart apple seabuckthorn jelly. I bought so many morning jams I had to check my bag home. Worth it." - ByRachel Karten

A gem of a spot! We stumbled on this place and it turned out to be a delightful discovery. The atmosphere is cozy and full of charm—eclectic, creative, and unmistakably French in its character and hospitality. The interior is beautifully put together, mixing vintage warmth with artistic flair. From rustic wood tables and mismatched chairs to the lovingly tended bookshelves and thoughtful decor, every detail feels intentional and inviting. There’s even a loft workspace above and shelves lined with their own teas and dried herbs—truly a place where you feel like you’re in someone’s imaginative, artful home. The scones were excellent and the little waffles just as good. Their house-made teas, are fragrant, innovative, and clearly the heart of the experience. I immediately thought of the friends I'd like to bring there just to introduce them to this place. Vincent and his team were warm, attentive, and engaging—true hosts in every sense. Clearly they care deeply about what they’ve created. This place is more than a tea house or shop—it’s an experience. Loved it.

Google
Great experience and such a peaceful place to relax, eat, drink tea. All the food was great, my favourite was the smoked salmon wrap and egg sandwich on the bottom tier. Everything is made / sourced locally. The fresh strawberries were so good. I will definitely come back next time I’m near Quebec City.

La Maison de Thé offers a delightful experience for tea enthusiasts and those looking to enjoy local products in a cozy, beautifully decorated setting. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with charming plates and cups that add to the overall aesthetic appeal. One of the highlights is that all the teas and products are sourced directly from their own farm, ensuring freshness and a unique, local touch to everything they serve. Although the service was a bit slow, it’s worth noting that they graciously accommodated us without a prior reservation, which was much appreciated. Despite the slight delay, we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed vibe and the serene atmosphere, making it a perfect spot to unwind and savor high-quality teas.

The décor of this place is stylish and inviting, creating a lovely atmosphere. The tea was delicious, and the pastries were carefully made and tasted great. The staff were incredibly patient and took the time to explain each tea to us in detail, even though we didn’t speak French, and they gave us some great recommendations. Next time, I’d love to stay longer and enjoy a relaxing afternoon, maybe by booking an afternoon tea set in advance.

It is a lovely setting in this original place with lots of tea options to try and buy, The interior is a very calm and relaxing environment and neatly done. Also, casual outside tables are available to enjoy the surrounding nature and check out the few chickens hanging around the shop.

Yelp
This farm and the shop/jam place are amazing. They are a little hard to find since to get to the farm from the main road you have to go up a bit of a rough road but when you're there it's quite an experience. They're in St-Jean, Île d'Orléans, right across from mainland Quebec and apparently strawberry paradise. Everywhere you go on the isle there are strawberries (we were there in July) and they are fresh and natural. At La Confiturerie Tigidou, they make their own jams, jellies, and baked goods plus they let you taste just about anything you desire. Unbelievable place. We ordered scones with ice cream topped with a very light maple syrup and it was out of this world. I tasted their orange marmalade and it was unlike any I had ever tasted in several countries or continents. They also serve coffee, tea, etc. If you're ever in St-Jean, Île d'Orléans do yourself a favor and visit them. You won't regret it. They told us that they'll have a way to order their products online later in the year. I can't wait.

Yelp
A wonderful experience On my journey through the hills and farms of Quebec City, my family and I ventured onto this lovely jamery. They specialize in fruit jams- particularly in strawberry jams. They offer an Exquisite complimentary tasting experience. You taste basically all their jam products (roughly 12-15) and the host explains the intricacies of each jam. It was a REALLY memorable experience for us- it was like a wine tasting- except with sweets. They have all different kinds of jam flavors- from Spicy to minty to the classics. I was inspired to order a delicious jam Sunday that hey had for sale! My family and I ended up leaving with around $200 usd worth of jams! Love it or dump it? Absolutely love it and highly recommended if you are in the area!

Yelp
Absolutely adorable! Cool but cute jam store with lemonade, scones, and shortcakes. Taste all the creative flavors and choose your favorite. Signage along the main road in St-Jean will lead you up the hill to this memorable spot. Don't miss it!

Yelp
This is such a cute place! We stopped by this place during our day trip to Ile d'oreleans and had a such a good time. We really enjoyed our conversation with the owner and he served us nicely baked scones with homemade jams and coffee. Their jams are also very tasty and I especially liked their strawberry basil and we purchased one for souvenir. If you want to have nice and peaceful time having nice conversation and snack in this town, this is the place! Oh and their coffee is really good too!

Yelp
Pretty shop with a nice selection of homemade products. There are little tables inside and out for sitting. I enjoyed the scone and jam with a cappuccino. I sat at a repurposed sewing table which was perfect for resting my feet (I'm only 5ft tall). The shopkeepers were very professional and kind. The strawberry raspberry jam is delicious. I also bought a blackcurrant jam to try. Worth a stop for a light refreshment. The jams make wonderful gifts.

Yelp
Nice place to visit! Especially if you're traveling with someone. They have great specialty jams you can have to taste and scones and great coffee to eat and drink before leaving and the gentlemen was nice and his reason of why he opened the place was also nice!

Yelp
This place is the best kept secret on the island. Just off the main road its super sweet, intricately styled with a welcoming and artsy vibe. The products are incredibly tasty and lush. We stopped for a latte and scones with their delicious jams and left with a variety for home. Highly recommend. You don't want to miss this little gem. It was our favorite experience of the day.

Yelp
This place is the cutest inside and the smell of jam is wonderful! All made right there in the shop and everything except the sugar comes from the island. Beautiful jams and you're allowed to sample them all before purchasing. Also have sauces you can put on crepes, ice cream or in your liquor. A++ Very friendly and helpful staff.

Yelp
Holy cuteness and goodness. Make sure to hang out with the Jamtender and load up on jars of tasty stuff. Get a scone too!

Yelp
What a wonderful find! The jams and jellies are delicious and having them served with freshly baked scones with lattes for brunch was a bit different. We had a great conversation about my grandfather who was from St. Jean and how they had migrated to Maine in the early 1900's. The huge berry fields are very picturesque and they sell their jams and jellies on site.

Yelp
I don't usually travel to seek out jam. In fact, I never seek out jam. But we were already on the island, so we decided to stop in. And we're glad we did. The atmosphere is perfect; music, furniture and decor are tastefully nostalgic. The staff is warm and inviting. And the jam is... amazing. There are interesting flavor combinations that include things like maple and coriander. We recommend tasting them all, and trying the scone shortcake with strawberry basil jam and a coffee while while there. And we'll be seeking out the jam here again soon.

Yelp
This is some of the best jam I have ever had. The maple blueberry was outstanding, as was the strawberry. A hit thinner than commercial jam, but we ended up loving it!

Daniel L.

Yelp
Not only is it the cutest place. But the owners are amazing people that will help you find the best jam out there. A must see on the island!

Julia K.

Yelp
Peel your eyes open for the sharp turn leading up to the shop. Quaint and cute. Good place to get local souvenirs to bring home.

Yelp
This is a nice place, a little removed off the main Chemin Royal. Got some jam preserve and maple butter from the shop, then had their scone dessert which was simple but actually really tastey. And the kitchen/cafe area has cool old style decor, this was a pleasant stop on the drive around ile d'orleans.

Yelp
Simply put, their jams are amazing and well worth a stop if you are exploring the island. The strawberries they use are some of the tastiest I've ever had. They have a tasting station where you can try their signature creations which were all fantastic and the staff are extremely friendly. I picked up the strawberry & mint jam as well as the plain strawberry jam which were my personal favorites. Prices per jar are about 12.50 CAD. I will definitely be back the next time I visit Quebec.

Kevin Y.

Yelp
Great service with a comfortable atmosphere. The owner was patient and accommodating. A little on the pricey side but is well worth it. The way jam should be made!!
