I’ve been to Congregation several times and it never disappoints. I’ve tried their seasonal coffees in both summer and fall, and all of them were unique and delicious—my favorite was the Summer Fizz and Flora. The breakfast options are simple but great; their avocado toast is one of my favorites. It’s definitely a coffee shop I love coming back to.

Google
Stopped by Congregation Coffee in Memphis and was genuinely impressed! The location is convenient, and the shop looks beautiful inside and out—clean lines, warm interiors, and a calm, welcoming vibe. As a first-timer, I asked for a recommendation and was pointed toward the spicy chai latte—and it did not disappoint. Perfectly balanced with just the right kick, it’s definitely something I’d go back for. They also have outdoor seating, which is a nice touch for cooler mornings, and even a conference room and private area you can reserve—perfect if you want to work or host a small meet-up. Overall, great drinks, thoughtful service, and a cozy atmosphere. Definitely adding this to my Memphis coffee rotation! 🙌

Congregation Coffee is a very popular spot! I walked in surprised that the whole cafe was full and bustling with energy. Thank goodness I’ve got AirPods with noise cancelling and voice isolation, or else I don’t think I would have been able to take a call or work in here. This place is great for meeting with friends, colleagues or just to enjoy a drink looking over the floor from upstairs. They have metal spiral staircase for a more homey feel. Overall the staff is very friendly. I ordered the sage lavender tea and had hoped for a teapot with the loose leaf tea so that I could steep the pricey tea for $5 several times though. Free WiFi and located in a beautiful building and plaza.

Google
I work from this café pretty often on the weekends, and it’s become one of the few places in Tennessee that genuinely feels cozy and familiar, especially since I don’t have family here. The whole team is friendly and consistently creates a welcoming environment. There’s one barista in particular who always goes above and beyond with kindness and attention to detail. I won’t mention names for privacy, but she definitely adds something special to the experience, and I’m genuinely grateful for the warmth she brings to my day.

Google
I’m trying out new local coffee spots for the Memphis Summer Coffee Shop Hop and spent my morning working from here and it was a nice atmosphere. My drink was good and the honey butter croissant? AMAZING. Still thinking about it. My only gripes are there’s not many accessible power outlets and it gets a bit warm with those big beautiful windows letting the sun in. Otherwise I enjoyed it and even though it’s a 30 minute drive I plan on coming back for another remote work day at some point.

Google
Such a great coffee shop! The staff is super friendly and they have the best pastires! Oh the atmosphere is so peaceful and relaxing. Great place to catch up with a freind, study, or get work done. The cinnamon rolls are to die for!

Samantha C.

Google
Best coffee I've had in Memphis so far. Great balance of good tasting notes in the coffee with any syrups added. I just did vanilla but it wasn't too sweet and I could taste the coffee. Loved it. The breakfast croissant was also excellent. Will definitely be back!

Google
Beautiful spot, great concept and very comfortable for a casual cup of coffee or a business/ client meeting. Coffee was underwhelming; had a cappuccino and it was beautiful but it’s hard to describe the flavor. The coffee did not come through very well. I will give it another shot and adjust my review accordingly. Very happy to have this space so close to home and work.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop! Plenty of parking, lots of seating indoors and possibly outdoors but it was way too cold for that today. Cozy vibes, I loved their Christmas decorations and comfy couches. Service was friendly, I ordered an iced latte and it came out right away. I didn't have to wait in line, but most of the tables were full at noon on a Friday. The food looked good, next time I think I'll try the avocado toast. Clean restroom, which is always appreciated!

Yelp
Congregation is a very unique coffee stop with many great options, hot or cold. The staff were very friendly and there were several options for food if you need a protein bite while you enjoy your coffee. The only thing I would change is their hours are rather short, especially for the area of town that remains very active long after they close.
google avatar

Yelp
This was a nice but overly modern coffee shop. The coffee itself was not bad. They just use a light roast. It was a very bright taste, not the deep notes I usually look for but that's my preference. The food options were limited. Was this better or worse than Starbucks? I would call it a draw. A fine choice if you're in the area but not one I would go out of my way to try
google avatar

Alex A.

Yelp
Great service. Outstanding Americano. Cozy lighting. Comfortable seats. Tasty pastries. Their roasts don't taste burnt. Absolutely nothing like the Green Giant. Love coming out to enjoy a moment with some delicious coffee.

Yelp
I love working out of coffee shops and recently started going to Congregation Coffee as an alternative to Jojo's Espresso, which can get pretty crowded. Congregation has plenty of seating and the bright lighting creates a nice, cozy atmosphere. The staff are super friendly and helpful which's nice. I've only tried their food once and it was pretty good. However, I'm not a huge fan of their coffee. I've tried several lattes, but they're always too sweet for my taste. And I always request oat milk but I've been given regular milk a few times. I can taste the difference and my lactose intolerance confirms it. Overall, it's a nice spot to chill or get work done. I still enjoy coming here but I just wish their coffee were better.

Yelp
Like the vibes of the place, staff was friendly, and my ice patter was bomb! Specifically I got the white choc pumpkin latte. Would go back next time I'm in Memphis! I did need to request espresso to be added.

Yelp
We live right down the street and frequent this coffee shop weekly. The coffee is good for the area as there are not really great coffee options in Germantown. The ambiance is lovely and cozy as well. Though, the staff can be very unbothered and appear standoffish. The last 8 times I have visited I have ordered a coffee and some form of a loaf cake. All 8 times I have received the hard heel of the loaf. This Friday I decided I would look and see if there were heels near the servers. The two heels on the loafs nearest to the server were missing so I didn't add a request of "no heel please". The heels were on the glass side facing the customer so I figured they would not reach all the way back to serve the heel again. Unfortunately when I got in the car and checked, yet again it was the stiff hard heel of the spice loaf. Is there a requirement to sell the heels first? That same day I went in and had to ask for a to-go carrier for my "to-go multiple coffee order" and the staff looked at me as if I was such a bother. They handed me a carrier that was broken and nearly spilled the coffees as I walked away. When I showed them the issue there was not a single word said to me. Just swapped it out and moved on. This coffee shop could receive 5 stars with proper protocol for warmth in customer service. A little smile and conversation goes a long way. Also, ditch the smaller sized hard heels of the loaf or ask the customer if they prefer the heel or the middle.

Yelp
Congregation coffee, also known as "Congo", by the locals is a small coffee shop located in Germantown. The inside is cute with a bustling shop. Many people talking and studying while enjoying some coffee. I got a vanilla iced latte and my friend got a bacon egg and cheese. The coffee was good but costed nearly 8 dollars and my friend didn't have any bacon on his bacon egg and cheese sandwich. Overall the food and drinks are good but the price and service is a bit disappointing.

Yelp
Went to try out this coffee shop in Germantown because my love for coffee is wickedly strong! Decided to get a cup of drip coffee with a little bit of sugar free salted caramel syrup. Added some half and half. Very good cup of coffee. It was a medium roast. The flavor is subtle but strong. There is a case of bakery items available. Will try something next time. The inside is spacious with tables and chairs. There are two sections of couches. There is a community table in the center which is inviting. The decor is simple but yet sophisticated. The lighting compliments the area. There are a lot of windows that allow the sunlight to freely enter inside. There is an upstairs with an access via a spiral staircase. I love the architecture of this shop. The electric menu was hard for me to read as the print was very small. Plenty of parking as the coffee shop is located in a shopping plaza. Everything looks crisp and clean. Service was good. The gal was pleasant and helped out when I asked questions. She was nice. I will definitely return to try out other coffees.

Yelp
Wonderful coffee and a great place to do morning devotion! I especially love their interior design & environment they've created. A great place to spend my morning!

Yelp
The service that I recently received here during a weekday morning was personable, competent, and friendly. They offered of variety of styles of coffee; I opted for a large cup of half cold brew and half regular hot coffee, so as not to burn my mouth in my attempt to get myself caffeinated asap. The flavor of their coffee beans was unique and pleasant. The coffee had a slight sweet flavor to it. I always take my coffee black, so this was interesting to me. They offered sweets from a local bakery, which I didn't sample. The lady at the coffee counter said that they might offer savory foods in the near future, which I am looking forward to. The interior of the shop was spacious and open. Much thought was put into its pleasing design. I liked that they have a customer loyalty program. I've posted their business hours within the Tips section. I plan on returning soon!

Yelp
This was our first time here. We went on a Sunday morning and it was extremely busy!! Even though it was really busy, the service was really fast and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with the menu items. Not to mention, the coffee was really good also! We'll definitely be back!!!

Sydney G.

Yelp
I tried the iced vanilla latte and the breakfast sandwich with turkey bacon. The sandwich was decent but the coffee was amazing! Both the food and coffee were prepared really fast. I went on a Saturday morning and they had live music.
google avatar

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop. I grew up in Germantown and I was in town visiting and stumbled upon this coffee shop. The coffee was really good there's tons of seating available, including outside. I will definitely be back and totally recommend. The staff were nice and welcoming. I came in on a Saturday morning, it was a lot of ppl but the line moved quickly.

Yelp
TLDR: looks way better than it is. Here's why: THE DRINKS I ordered oat milk cappuccinos after asking if the oat milk they use foams up properly. The cashier told me it would work, so I kept my order instead of changing it to something easier. Big mistake. The cappuccinos came out as sad lattes with the LOOSEST foam on top. I should have known better, since both people working were bored-looking high school girls. I don't know about you, but I need my barista to look like they have a BFA or purple hair or literally any kind of life experience. THE PRICES This is on me for not really paying attention or asking the right questions while ordering. 1) The drinks were a little over $5 for the HUGE portion, albeit still a terrible value for the price since they were not properly made. I wasn't expecting to be drowned in my supersized cappuccino. 2) I had also purchased two gluten-free blueberries muffins out of the case near the register. After leaving, I thought to myself, "did I just pay almost $30 for two coffees and two muffins?" After looking at the receipt, I knew why. The two very small muffins were $6.50 each!! Seems a bit excessive to me. If I go back, I'll have to order something simple I know one of the children working there can make. And I definitely won't be paying almost seven dollars for a tiny muffin again!

Connor D.

Yelp
The lovely ladies at the register were so kind and welcoming. The service was impeccable and my drink was quick to be made. I ordered an Iced White Mocha, while great, it could have used a better stir. The feel of the place was cozy with the smell of coffee filling the air. It is a great place to work and meet new people. I would recommend this place to others!
google avatar

Briana F.

Yelp
I was looking for a coffee shop before I went to work this morning. I love the fact that unlike Starbucks they offer more sugar-free variety other than vanilla. The service was great. They offer a rewards program and the place is beautiful. I talked to a lady while I was waiting on my coffee and she said the whole area used to be a church so they've tried to keep up the theme. It's absolutely beautiful in the coffee shop. The coffee tasted amazing. Try this place. You will absolutely not regret it.
google avatar

Christopher L.

Yelp
A continual improvement and truly serving at the top tier. It's obvious the owner and manager(s) are striving for excellence without jumping to hoity-toity. This is also the prettiest coffee bar in the Memphis metro area.
google avatar

Saray D.

Yelp
London Fogs are the best! Saturday cronuts are amazing. I really love the latte art on the drinks. The baristas are nice and work fast I love their service, Leeanna and Karli are the best.
google avatar

David T.

Yelp
Above average coffee and cool environment. They have a meeting room in the back which is cool if you need caffeine not to fall asleep in them. Coffee is not cheap at all but it is good.
google avatar

Art C.

Yelp
Looks like the place is officially open now. Very nice space using local beans in an area with not many other coffee options. We enjoyed our cappuccinos here. Excellent!
google avatar

Ashley P.

Yelp
Very nice atmosphere in a new building. I ordered a warm mocha with hazelnut flavor. And glad they're one of the few non-chain coffee shops open early on Sunday. BUT I came hungry hoping they'd have some protein snacks like most coffee shops but instead they had a half empty display of carbs (some sort of tomato bread) and cookies only.....food options severely lacking and what they did have was short supply too early in the day.

Gary C.

Yelp
I didn't take photos. I have had a cinnamon roll, espresso and a couple lattes. I have purchased a couple bags of coffee - whole beans for home.
google avatar

Harriet T.

Yelp
Great local coffee shop. I went in during the week around 10 am and had no idea it would be so packed-every table was taken-I do wish the upstairs had been open. Got a blueberry lemon scone and it was sooo very good. Happy this is so close to my house!

Yelp
I have tried Congregation several times since it opened just over a year ago. I really want to love it - it's in a convenient location, has a great vibe, and the service has never been an issue for me. However, I remain very unimpressed by the coffee. When it first opened and I had my first cinnamon roll latte, I was disappointed by the lack of flavor and the overpowering, oddly sweet espresso. I attributed this to the fact that they had just opened and were likely working out the kinks and perfecting the menu. Unfortunately, this has proven not to be the case. I have returned to Congregation several times since then, hoping for a redemptive coffee experience, but it continually falls short. I've had cinnamon roll lattes that have zero flavor until the aftertaste hit - and even then, it tasted as if cinnamon rolls were baking in the next room over. I've had pumpkin spice lattes that left me wanting more from the flavor. Most recently, I tried a peppermint white chocolate latte that was strangely overly sweet but did not resemble peppermint or white chocolate in any way. I think this was the last straw. I've wasted enough money here, hoping my disappointment was due to the growing pains of a new coffee shop. After a little over a year, I think I can say that I have given up on Congregation.

Connor B.

Yelp
Overall, decent place to visit with a great vibe. When visiting, it was decently busy considering the holiday break which could have an impact on what follows. The coffee was watery, lacked flavor, and it's overall consistency tasted like someone had recycled a Nespresso pod 4-5 times over so all there is left is the distant dream of what espresso could taste like. The redeeming qualities were found in their sandwich offerings. I ordered the turkey croissant lunch sandwich which was a solid 7/10 and my wife ordered the ham which she said was a 7.5/10. We also purchased some of their pastries which were the star of the show. All in all, come for the vibes, stay for the pastries, maybe the caught the coffee on a bad day.
google avatar

Heath H.

Yelp
I recently found this place and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is perfect to relax, study, or have a friendly conversation. The coffee was great and you can get in real mugs.

Lyn T.

Yelp
I pre-ordered a charcuterie board for pick up on Christmas Eve between 10-11am. When I originally placed the order online I received both an email and text confirming my order and pick up. On Christmas Eve at 9:30am I decided to look at the track order status link. The track order status was stating canceled. I called and left a message to find out what was going on, but did not get a call back. I then went to the store. They said "sorry we canceled your order. We didn't have the staff to fulfill." Wow. No notification was sent to me that they chose to cancel the order. This was a Christmas present for someone. This is probably one of the worst customer service experiences I have had in many years. We will never do business with them again and will NOT recommend them in the future. This business needs to learn some basic management skills quickly or they will not survive.

Yelp
I was very intrigued by the name "Congregation" because it just works! Not to mention the coffee shop looks like a church . Im assuming that's intentional. However it's not just looks and it surely didn't feel like church . The coffee was delicious, the service was fast and efficient and the workers were friendly and welcoming. I adore this place and although I live at least 25 minutes away, I will definitely return soon!

Joel R.

Yelp
I have been there once, because it's not close to where I live. I liked everything about it. The ambiance was inviting, the coffee, the food and the service was good. Would visit again.

David A.

Yelp
Coffee is awesome. Service is always friendly and accurate. The place is very clean and well appointed. Perfect to meet a friend for coffee or as a quick place to get some work done. I have not tried the food. It appears to be brought in from off site. The food is incredibly overpriced. A single cinnamon roll is 8.00. Best coffee place in Germantown. Give it a try!

Katy P.

Yelp
This place is a treasure for the community. The breakfast bowl and Leanna are God's gifts.
google avatar

Nat N.

Yelp
coffee is good, place is nice. workers are distracted and passive aggressive when taking orders and talking to other employees. over heard two ladies working behind the bar talking harshly about a customer who was confused about an order. not professional
google avatar

John B.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and coffee. A little pricey, but that is with all things these days.

Lucie V.

Yelp
Avocado toast is absolute joke. Served cold with almost no avocado. Effort 0. Never coming back
google avatar

Phyllis G.

Yelp
Great coffee. Great space. The staff is friendly. A welcome addition to Germantown.

Kendall R.

Yelp
I really want to like this place. I got a vanilla latte twice and couldn't taste any espresso in it, just milk. And before you say "a latte is mostly milk" yeah, I know..it's my go to order. But a latte shouldn't taste like just milk, especially when it's supposed to be a vanilla latte. I expected it to at least have some vanilla flavor to it if there wasn't going to be any coffee flavor. Maybe you just need a double shot latte if that's what you're going to get. I will be back to try something else in hopes it sways my opinion because like I said, I really want to like this place. The seating areas are cool, although I wish their meeting room had a minimum number of people allowed to sit there. When I was there, one person was in there, at a table that fit at least 10 people. I would think just one person wouldn't be allowed to take over an entire room suited for that many, but maybe they don't get large groups so who knows. Not a complaint, just something I noticed. Prices are a bit high in my opinion, but I suppose that's the trend in coffee shops these days. Hoping to like this place better in the future!
google avatar

Nancy E.

Yelp
Cool but cozy spot to meet friend for a delicious cappuccino. How they manage sleek yet cozy is a mystery! Could it be the spiral staircase to the loft? Just enough upholstery but with fresh black and white classic scheme?! I don't know but they make minimalist feel luxurious somehow. Just enough food offerings to satisfy but not overwhelm.
google avatar

Jessica U.

Yelp
The atmosphere was 10/10! The speed in which I got my iced latte was also 10/10. The coffee itself however was 3/10 in my opinion. I really value craft coffee and was really looking forward to trying their espresso. It tasted pretty bitter which took away from the vanilla. They may still be dialing in their espresso..not sure. All I know is that I would definitely go back to study/work--I would just make sure to have my latte before I go. Might try their brewed coffee next time. (Service was also great as well!)

Abigail J.

Yelp
Such a lovely staff and a very open concept of a coffee shop layout! You can definitely be productive and social at the same time! I will definitely be back! The blueberry crumble with a little extra blueberry, 10/10! The hot honey scone is amazing!

Yelp
Great service. Friendly staff. Enjoyed the espresso. Fair prices. Have only tried the drip and the espresso. Both were enjoyable.

Yelp
Great place with great coffee! Kenneth is a wonderful owner/host and I pray this place does well. The cinnamon rolls are amazing!!!

Yelp
We stopped in for the soft opening today and had a great latte! Met the nice owners and learned a bit about their story and how they built the caffe! Look forward to many more visits - nice to see another locally owned coffee shop open up in Germantown!

Andrew H.

Yelp
Really nice to have a local coffee shop nearby. Good people, good coffee, plenty of seats.

Todd J.

Yelp
Good coffee always pretty busy so make sure you have. Little extra time to sit down. Love the local food

Leonard H.

Yelp
I've been there twice this week. It's clean, open, and a really nice space. There is plenty of parking. Even though it is new, it was already crowded. On my second visit, we waited for 20-30 minutes for a table to open up. I love espresso, especially lattes, and have been to number of the iconic espresso bars in the US (G&B, Intelligentsia -before it was acquired by Peet's, Onyx, etc.). Both my lattes were below average. Very watery, no distinct flavor or taste. Way too much foam, even too much if I had ordered a cappuccino, and not incorporated into the espresso. I hope the quality of the lattes improves both in flavor and quality. The Hub and JoJo's provide much better espresso drinks. I'll give it another visit and update this review afterwards. We need more good options around town so I hope they take the craft seriously and are successful.

Jason W.

Yelp
Great service, great atmosphere and great coffee! I really appreciate the new option in the Germantown area, it will now be my go to!

Benjamin R.

Yelp
I stopped by today as I saw some activity inside. Kenneth met me at the door and said they were not open until Saturday but invited us in to see the place. He made us 2 delicious vanilla lattes and chatted for a bit. Coffee was delicious and the ambiance fantastic. Will definitely return. Best of luck!
