Congress is a nice addition to Mt. Pleasant restaurant scene. Love the chic colorful interior with communal table, booths and tables. The menu is New American, as mainly a fusion of Mexican and Italian, made by a French trained chef. Menu items are somewhat tapas sized in the appetizer section, then entrees vary between pork, fish or chicken. We enjoyed the Chili and Chili Relleno first, then our entrees were the Tagliatelle with venison & pork bolognese and the pork chop with guajillo sauce. The food was very delicious and flavorful, all slightly on the spicy end. The chocolate budino was just fantastic, with sea salt to enhance it. Overall we liked the atmosphere, and really liked the food, but the service was rather slow. Congress is a delightful place to enjoy a good drink with casual flavorful food.
