Really didn't Know what to expect (Mexican Italian food) and was pleasantly surprised with our meal. We ordered about 7 apps to share with the table and all we're a hit except for the Chile relleno (way to spicy, spice overlook the whole dish). The gaucamole was the perfect texture and fresh, the scallops where nice dayboat/divers and the best I have had in Charleston, the Chile reminded me of how they do it in Texas (no beans), tuna tartare was super fresh, the gnocchi lite and pillowy, and last but not the fresh mozzarella with I believe came with a delicious pesto or variant. I look forward to trying brunch here ($3 mimosas) and will return. It's nice to see something like this here unlike all the homongeinzed suburbia chain restaurants that seem to plague Mount Pleasant. In closing Congress actually did a wonderful job making the italian and Mexican food flavors blend together harmoniously, I would highly recommend a visit for people that live to eat!

Congress is a nice addition to Mt. Pleasant restaurant scene. Love the chic colorful interior with communal table, booths and tables. The menu is New American, as mainly a fusion of Mexican and Italian, made by a French trained chef. Menu items are somewhat tapas sized in the appetizer section, then entrees vary between pork, fish or chicken. We enjoyed the Chili and Chili Relleno first, then our entrees were the Tagliatelle with venison & pork bolognese and the pork chop with guajillo sauce. The food was very delicious and flavorful, all slightly on the spicy end. The chocolate budino was just fantastic, with sea salt to enhance it. Overall we liked the atmosphere, and really liked the food, but the service was rather slow. Congress is a delightful place to enjoy a good drink with casual flavorful food.

Went for brunch. Had the Enchiladas de Mole Poblano with a sunny side up egg. The entree was very tasty, but a little salty in a couple of bites. Also ordered the churros. They were delicious! Perfectly cooked and with a wonderful caramel dipping sauce. The staff was friendly and attentive.

The food and service here was really good. Plenty of parking outside. Pretty decor. The only thing I wish they would change is make the portions bigger. Don't come here and expect to fill the tank.

Incredible food, great atmosphere and awesome service. You can tell the chef truly takes pride in his work and has a passion for food. After several visits, EVERY dish we’ve ordered has been delicious and presented beautifully. I cannot imagine a plate ever coming out of that kitchen that didn’t look photo worthy. The genuinely care about your experience and it shows. Love this place!

We had a delicious dinner at Congress tonight. We started with a cheese plate which is the best cheese plate in Mount Pleasant. I had a grouper with arugula salad and watermelon, blueberries, and roasted figs. It was exceptional. The way the server was friendly, quick, and very helpful. I will return. It has a beautiful interior. Go!

We have eaten here several times now, and every time, everything is astoundingly good. The service is always extremely friendly and the food is just as good. I also am obsessed with the beautiful flavor of their bolognese, especially the way the use of star anise shines through. Mount Pleasant is lucky to have this restaurant when you don't want to head all the way downtown, but want food that is easily as good as what you'd find there in the best restaurants. Just make sure you always end your meal with the churros.

We were pleasantly surprised. While they say dishes are small I was totally full from tricolorr salad and shrimp device. My husband had the soft shell crabs. He said they were meaty and delicious. Waite staff friendly, and knowlegeable. We will definietly return to this Mt. Pleasant gem.
