Chela was an amazing waitress at Connie’s Seafood on Spencer in Pasadena, TX. She was attentive, friendly, and made sure we had everything we needed without ever having to ask. Her service really stood out and made our dining experience even better. You can tell she genuinely cares about her customers. If you visit Connie’s Seafood, ask for Chela—you won’t be disappointed!💗💗

I would have given 5 star but because I had to get up and ask for things and if music wasn't to loud. It's a restaurant not a club. To many solicitation with flowers and fake musicians. The place is Nutcracker and clean but if they can change this solicitation and this loud music would be great

I love coming here I can always get what I want and it tastes great. The customer service has always been excellent as well.

Not sure what happend to the first waitress, but she got upset because I asked for the market price of a whole red snapper, her response was "we don't know untill they cook it"? Not how that works, what if after its cooked its a $95 dollar fish, i asked if she knew what market price is, she said no, I said its all over your menu, most places have it posted on a wall somewhere. well she never came back. Next waitress was better at everything, food was good. as I've never been to this one, I will come back if I'm in the area.

Had a two man band ..jamming while we ate to some good Taco Town music I love .food was delicious service was great..

The food was disgusting! Definitely not worth $65 for 2 people. Dry rice, overdone shrimp, bland fish, side salad is a joke. Fried calamari was overcooked, and just gross. Our waitress was over worked while younger waitresses just lounging at the front. Long wait time for horrendous food. Restroom was just as bad. Yuk!!

I would have given it a 5 stars however I couldn't hear due to the music being up so loud. Other than that, the food was great! The waitress sweet.

Gotta get here as soon as they open cause it'll start getting packed within 30min. 6 months pregnant & their good is amazing 🤤 hubby says their micheladas are 🔥🔥🔥 our waitress was on point. Not a single complaint. Definitely coming back.

Thanks for great seafood and service . Visited Houston from Ga several months ago and wanted Mexican style seafood . Went back five times and ate the ceviche de pulpo for an appetizer . I then got a dish with calamari and pulpo. Great for the diet and it was absolutely delicious . They have fresh ocean fish on ice you can pick out and have it cooked anyway you like .

One of the best seafood places to eat- fresh never over cooked the service is amazing and the abundance of food is just spectacular

Managers and servers are the worst here , I applied like 3 times here to be a server but I guess they just racist and don't want girls that can talk English and Spanish , when I walked in the serves looked at me ugly and were just standing there doing nothing . I asked for help in Spanish and they just said to go to the cashiers all rude , the manager came and I told her if I can apply and she said no because the team was already complete and then after she decided to give me the paper because I told her that's not how a manager supposed to be..

I would not recommend this place. Service is zero we have ordered twice from here and both times we have had issues. This last time was not tolerable. We ordered food to go and the waitress made a mistake and charged my friend a Tostada de ceviche instead of a Cocktail but apparently she didn't realize until later so she calls me to my cell phone and tells me she was short 3 or 4 dollars which i would have paid if she had a better attitude and service. But she was charging the wrong person i got my order corrected and paid for it. So after a long convo she hung up on me and the next few days i seen I was charged a different amount on my card!! I called and the waitress had added herself a tip!! To cover her amount that she was short!! Wth ‍

Ordered fried fish with fry's and salad and got rice and salad instead and also ordered a large shrimp cocktail and looks like a small with hardly no shrimp no avocado and hardly any sauce.

Ordered a 3 piece catfish and was brought a 2 piece , when I asked where my third fillet was they said the two fish weigh as much as their usual three fish. So dumb and so wrong . They also got the rest of the order wrong . Not coming back to this place . Food quality went down along with their service. Wish I could rate it lower.

Good place to come if you're in the mood for seafood. For food: I suggest the camarones a la ranchera, which is similar to camarones a la diabla (Incase you are more familiar with that dish). The fried rice is amazing, and compliments the food so well. They have a large variety of beers, and some of the best micheladas in town. Definitely suggest ordering one if you have the chance!The portions are filling, and the dishes are priced pretty low. The downfall of the restaurant is that it is always busy, and the service is not great. I would still return for the food though‍

Michelado was terrible, food was alright. Service sucked! Needs better customer service.

Ordered to go $60 wasted money. The salad was served hot . The rolls was smashed so flat to force in the box, thought it was a part of a hamburger bun to start. There was no ventilation holes in the styrofoam. So out Ordered sea food platters take all the super hot foods and put the in the container with the nice cold salad. So what we got was 2 plates of soggy fried foods and hot salad. Really nasty.

Service is a 0! It's like the staff don't know where they're working at. Brianna , the manager lady in the glasses and all staff working at the time were unprofessional! When a situation happens they're the chismosas of the night spreading it like drama. NEXT TIME wait till the customer leaves. Connie's used to be way better 5+ years ago before they started losing OG servers. All for requesting your tab to be split and failure for the waitress to not report a returned entree to the manager. Instead , the manager stated we should have requested her first and still try to charge. Our server was well aware the tab would be split. Across , you then notice the whole Night Shift staff bundle up in the corner. Even the food runner was trying to get the scoop.Took longer to pay then to than to eat. Y'all be getting too comfortable with y'all's jobs , and forget the purpose of what dine-in service is. Makes sense why Connie's is always desperately hiring all year around. They can't keep their staff or customers.

We always have had a good service, but a new guy on the phone took the order completely wrong and didn't give the price on the phone, when we got there the bill was almost $70 because he decided to charge us the biggest red snapper he found. No way... not coming back

I was truly disappointed. They did little to make you feel welcome if you did not speak Spanish. The bartender did not speak English which is fine; so waitress he got to help take my order took her time coming over but she was very patient with me and the menu. The waitress who will rung up my check handed me my credit slip from three seats over, and then walked off. She didn't even notice that I didn't have a pen to sign the ticket. I had the pan grilled shrimp. (It came with fries and fried rice). The shrimp were good, the fries cold, the rice ok. I will never return. And they probably would be ok with that. I still tipped because at least what I ordered I received.

I love Connies!!! Its the best place to eat when your in HTown! Im from Arlington TX so when i roll into houston this is my first and last stop in Houston! Its like Lil Mexico in China town! The shrimp fried rice and Fish filets and shrimp are soooo goood! I love the Connies Seafood platter! iShrimp cocktail is also tasty. And wash it all down with a MICHELADA!!! Never had one of these till I came here. Im not a big fan of hot sauce or chili but this drink puts the spicy in my mexican self. Add your favorite Imported beer to their michelada mix. The mix is so good I have to buy some for back home. Everything is just delicious! Atmosphere is cool they have Mariachi's willing to play any request and the juke box blasting loud bachata & merengue while eating and having that third michelada! Trust me you'll love this place!

We had great service. The food was excellent large portions of food I had leftovers. I had shrimp and fish with shrimp fried rice. It was delicious.

Food is simple, it's all the same with no real signature dish. Cocktail is ok, lots of ketchup. The shrimp is. Counted! The Service is horrible! The waitress have no skills. Service has no clue! Management haven't fix this problem in years. I come here once a year hoping something has change, but Nope! The whole time the wait staff came once to check on us.

To begin i love connies, I always get the shrimp w rice but I tried to taste something different and I got, the small shrimp cocktail for $7.00 and the small caldo de pescado. This is what I recieved. A caldo with 1 big piece of zanahoria and 4 small shrimp, then to top it all off the shrimp cocktail was the tiniest portion. Not worth it. The shrimp cocktails good but was not worth the price, and the caldo wasn't either

This place is so good and cheap!!! The micheladas are a MUST and the #1 as well. If you're lucky, you'll get a nice waitress, if not you'll get a waitress that'll keep looking at you up and down. Who cares tho!!! You're still getting delicious food...

We arrived the place was busy. There was little to no parking, but the good thing was that we caught someone while they were leaving and we got a spot! WOOHOOO! We go in and the music was SUPER LOUD that I couldn't even hear my friends. I informed the waitress and she was pleasant enough to lower the music. I love the grilled fish with the fried rice and salad. The seafood here is amazing. Better yet, the Micheladas are a MUST! They make the best sauce and they are made exquisitely (would it be frowned upon if I get one right now at 10 am? ha!). Unfortunately, the service is mediocre. Most of the time, they are incredibly slow and very inattentive. They wont come around to take your drink order until like 10-15 minutes after you arrive. I don't know why and they get upset when you ask for extras. Trust me baby, I expect to pay for extra, so gimme what I ask for. I really love their food and this is the reason I come back. I will probably try the Heights location next.

Love there food. I always try different things on the menu but mostly get the shrimp basket. Prices are cheap and the wait time isn't long.

Their chamoy margaritas are sooooo good! I'm not much of a margarita person but I get at least 3 when we go! Shrimp cocktail is fresh, their prices are fairly priced and their fried rice is so good!

Ok, so the place is a little ghetto and loud but it has (by far) the best shrimp fried rice I've ever had. The place is more like a fast food joint than a sit-down restaurant but it is worth trying. They also have a good shrimp cocktail! Enjoy!

Very unorganized place other than dirty looking. They can't follow instructions. Very rude people who work their too. Will never ever go back again and I will let everyone I know how nasty this place is.

Very unprofessional management repeatedly calling us liars over the phone because of 1 missing item in a $50+ order. wouldn't recommend doing any kind of delivery or takeout

This is one of my favorite restaurants and I have been coming here for years. I call this their cuisine Mexican Seafood. Their tartar sauce is the best. Whenever my dad is in from out of town he wants to go to Connies. Where the beer is cold and I suspect he also enjoys the scenery of pretty Hispanic waitresses. I usually get the 2pc fried fish meal with fried shrimps and it comes with fried rice and a roll. I would also recommend the michelada with Modelo. My daughter gets the small shrimp fried rice. Idk why they call it small. It's enough to feed two people, but we just take that for leftovers. This is not a fancy place and it's usually crowded because the food is good. I have some more bougie family that won't eat here for whatever reason but that's their loss in my opinion. I have never left here disappointed. I also have gotten the raw oysters on the half shell on occasion and they are fresh. Try it, you might find a new favorite place.

Called in a to go order this evening. Got halfway home and thought I'd open one of the 2 plates I had ordered. Having eaten at this establishment on a regular basis as a dine-in patron. I am quite familiar with their order portions served. Upon opening the box I was thoroughly disappointed in the amount of fried rice. I called back the restaurant saying I would be returning for more rice. When I arrived I was told I was being charged for "extra rice." I asked to speak with a manager and was told that it was just an optical illusion that there was less rice Since it was not on a plate. I explained that I have dined there several times before and that she was definitely not right. I have sometimes not been able to finish my meal there due to the enormous portion of fried rice. There was only about 4 Tablespoons of rice in each of the to go orders. Instead of upsetting a customer over a 2.1 cent cost per serving of rice the manager should have been proactive in resolving the issue. Obviously customer satisfaction is not a priority at this location. Upon telling the manager that in the future I would no longer dine there and would not recommend this establishment to friends, coworkers and Family, She chose to remain smug and unaffected by losing a long time customer. For the price I paid for this to go order I could go down the street to Magic Burger for the same plate for cheaper, plus you get a drink included.

Came here for lunch with my co workers. It's alright. Nothing to fancy. I feel like the seafood is not seasoned well, but the fried rice is good. Service is good too. It just wasn't my cup of tea. Overall it was alright. However, I will not be eating here again.

Hmm, Jaires review was on point as far as the place being ghetto & loud, but I dont agree that its a fast food type joint. I've dined in plenty of times. Having said that, Connies is one of my favorite places to eat. The shrimp fried rice is ...oh my, so damn good, its makin me hungry right now! Jaire also commented on the shrimp cocktail, she is on point about that too. Man, its fresh, not too spicy, just the right amount of shrimp, cocktail sauce, avocado, pearl onions, ect.. simply delicious. Connies also has THE best michelada in Houston, no lie! Its in aquired taste, so drink at your own risk, it can be kinda spicy,, clears the sinuses pretty good, but Oh so tasty on a hot ass Houston day, a Tecate or Corona michelada hits the spot! I always order the same thing, steamed garlic fish, I highly recommend! Shrimp fried rice, careful, one small size can feed a small army ;) & of course the shrimp cocktail, I also highly recommend. The place is kinda loud, so if your looking for a quiet place to eat seafood, dont go to Connies......BUT if you like loud bachata & merengue while eating your seafood, go to Connies =) Buen provecho!

I was looking for a good local Mexican style seafood dive, and I found it. I ordered a half-dozen oysters on the half shell. They were big and fresh for only about $7.50 That was followed by the large Fish Ceviche cocktail, which was fresh and done just right. Great meal with cold beer! I enjoyed the live Mexican music, which reminded me of being across the border. I would do 5 stars, but the service is a little off. They don't generally check on you unless you make eye contact. Overall, great fresh seafood, great prices, and cold beer. You can't go wrong with that combination!

The food was very good. And, the service was pretty good being they don't speak english. Not speaking English is the reason for the two stars. If I could have communicated with my servicer I would have gave them a much higher start rating.

The fried catfish is very good..it's moist and crispy at the same time and the ceviche and shrimp cocktails are yummy too. No complaints! Prices are inexpensive and you have to have a michelada!

Came here to try something different. Customer service was really good. This place is super loud though. Shrimp cocktail 2/5 (mambos is way better) Oysters on a half shell 3/5 (some not so fresh ones) Gumbo 1/5 super watery and no flavor Stuffed crabs and fried oysters 2/5 no flavor This place doesn't compare to mambos or Mannie's seafood.

Love this place, very fresh seafood, down home Dairy Queen atmosphere done tex mex sorta. Wait staff always friendly and fast. Prices are great, loved their fried rice, shrimp and margaritas. Sometimes has live mariachi band.

The food was great and cheap! In most sit down and eat seafood restaurants you pay a lot of money. My wife and I tossed down five drinks and had some of the most expensive items on the menu for around 40.00 dollars. My meal included shrimp, fish, oysters, crab cake, fried rice and fries. The service was great and the service was speedy. The atmosphere is very vibrant and you may need to know the true Mexican culture before you go in this place. I don't agree it is ghetto, but that is because I come from the same culture as 95% of the people eating at this establishment. The Michelada is an acquired taste, but it is good.

The rice had been great the first 2 times except this 3rd time a few days ago. It was drenching in oil. Service has always been bad. Stick with mambo or chilos....

Its a pity that this restaurant is not willing to give a little of customer service, on sunday took my mother for a shrimp cocktail and requested no Chile they said all pico de gallo had chile so i asked to please have them cut up little of onion and tomato so she could enjoy her meal she is 82 and on kimo waitress said they were to busy so i said bring some to table and i would cut it up for her no problem. when i got the bill they chared me for the tomato and also for for onion slice, it was the principle of the charge since these are part of the cocktail when manager came to the table she was rude and said i will take off but dont come back here and in the future cook at your own home, .....i just think its sad ,,,,,you got out to eat for a pleasure and not to be insulted
