Connolly's Sports Grill

This place definitely exceeded my expectations, we originally were just looking for a bar to play golden tee at but ended up loving the place more than just for the game. We went during a trivia night, and was able to sit at the bar without a wait. The staff was extremely helpful with our questions on food, and really gave our group a great experience. The wings are phenomenal! Best wings in phoenix that we’ve had so far. Highly recommend this place.

Visited Yard House recently. The atmosphere was casual and relaxed with no special events going on, which made for an easy, low-key experience. Our waitress was fantastic—friendly, attentive, and on point the whole time. As for the food, it was pretty average American-style fare. I had the corned beef, which unfortunately tasted like it had just been reheated—not fresh or particularly flavorful. Nothing terrible, just not memorable. Overall, it's a decent spot if you're looking for standard eats and good service, but don’t expect anything out of the ordinary when it comes to the food.

I made a reservation requesting a quieter seat as we were entertaining visitors from out of town in the end we were sitting at seated in the center of the restaurant where it was exceptionally noisy. The food was adequate best. My order was completely incorrect. The waitress was lovely. Did her best to make it right but on the overall the experience was not something I would recommend to anybody else.

We stopped here with friends on a Sunday evening. Service was fast and friendly. The food is your average pub food. The atmosphere is good and they have a great patio seating area. The bathrooms are clean.

I’ve been a customer of Connelly’s for over a year. The service has always been exceptional, the food is great and the atmosphere is the best. This place is like a “Cheers”, the locals are nice and welcoming. When I come, sit at the bar my favorite bartender, Carla who knows what I like, sets these drinks in front of me. I’ve never had to wait. If you are local and want a place to frequent I recommend Connelly’s.

Great drink specials. The hot wings were awesome and the sandwiches are great. Definitely going back The food was delicious And the coolest cake journals I've ever seen.

We love this place!! Excellent Irish grub and beer. Kid friendly and loud, so easy to bring my 3 year old. Plus their kid menu is generous - enormous Mac and cheese, chocolate milk, etc. I love their rib eye cheddar melt, burgers, French dip. Sweet potato fries are waffle cut and amazing. Service is always quick and friendly. Screens showing every sport you might care about. Easy to recommend

We went for St. Patrick's day and the food was best part. The bar staff gave a very admirable effort but were fairly understaffed, resulting in overall slow and spotty service. Ordering a drink was hit or miss due to how loud the music was playing. The DJ was far and away the worst part of our experience. He was fairly unaware of how to mix and match BPMs to ease the transitions between songs and frequently jumped between genres and eras to round out a fairly disjointed listening experience. The acoustics of the bar meant that any time he spoke on the microphone, which occurred WAY too frequently, he was muffled and only piled on to the souring addition of the otherwise party-oriented atmosphere. The lack of anything remotely resembling Irish music was laughable and the playlist more closely resembled that of a frat party. The only parts of our night that were Irish were the name of the bar and the food offerings.

Stopped by on a Sunday afternoon for lunch. Sat at the bar. The bartender was super nice and friendly. Very attentive. I ordered Diet Coke (no alcohol for me today) and she kept my glass filled. The veggie plate with Blue Cheese dip was delicious. I also had a steak salad with blue cheese (yep - I like Blue Cheese). The food was delivered quickly. The salad was very fresh and tasty! This is a neighborhood sports bar. Many of the patrons are "regulars" and were greeted by name by the bartender. And the bartender knew their "regular" orders! People were dining inside and outside. And people had their children there with them. A very casual place to enjoy!

Haven't been here in a while and it looks like they got a makeover, a lot nicer inside. The food is okay tho, I ordered a burger and the meat was very bland. My roommate orders the bangers and mash, he enjoyed it. The waitresses were very friendly and attentive which was nice.

Went here for weekend dinner yesterday and loved the overall experience. Overall I would recommend this place if you are looking for a typical sports bar. Here are my takes: Food/Drinks: Sprimp dinner was good, same as cheese curd that my kid liked. However, the flatbread was disappointing and lacked flavors. The beer blend option was unique here and they have a good selection of drinks option. I can definitely go here again for drinks. Service: Our server was so sweet and she lived up to our expectations. Came to check on us many times and was very vocal in suggesting and recommending as well. Ambiance: Loud just like many sports bars but has a nice decor theme with a bike hanging from the ceiling too. Hygiene: It was good in our opinion and experience. We did not use the restroom so can't comment on that though. Price: Prices are average like in other places & no concerns.

I really like their food. The servers are very attentive and courteous. It usually is crowded so the noise level is high.

I have been eating here for lunch 2 or 3 times a week for the last year or so. 6 times on my birthday week. :) I love the music. Might sound like classic rock, but there is a great variety. You won't hear the same song twice. I love the servers and bartenders. Everyone is super nice and friendly. They always bring me a Diet Coke as soon as I come in. I love the atmosphere. Casual, but clean. I love the food. Very good buns not just for a sports bar, but for anywhere. Huge point, get the homemade chips instead of the fries. Amazing. Standouts include Fish and Chips (with chips instead of fries :) ) , French Dip, Pepperoni Flatbread, shrimp (not long ago they were upgraded and are great now), chicken alfredo (best I have had), pulled pork, and the prime rib cheddar melt. My last one was the best sandwich of any type I have ever had. Amazing. I have eaten half the items on the menu, most are great. The standard guy order of burger and fries is just standard ok. Peruse the menu and be delighted. I highly recommend this place.

Service and atmosphere were very good. I also really liked the fish and chips. I just didn't care for their sampler appetizer thing...not everything tastes good fried and it was just a hodge podge randomly over greasy items. Everything else was pretty good and it's nice to have a local spot for a proper Irish car bomb.

Our first time at this local watering hole, but the food was great! I was so hungry that I forgot to take a photo of my chicken salad sandwich, but it was very impressive for a sports bar....super savory! This spot is a Husker bar and they have lots of Husker memorabilia displayed throughout the bar/restaurant. We sat at the bar but the do have a nice dining area inside and a decent sized outdoor patio. On this night they also had live music that was about to start as we were leaving. Overall good service & good food! We will be back!

We love Connolly's, especially their Fish and Chips (Alaskan cod, golden crinkle fries, citrus jalapeno coleslaw). I would give them a very high rating. We are actually bringing several family members from out of town here tonight. I think they will love it.

I get three stars this place. I was at this place the other day and I haven't had an exquisite sandwich and I've had exquisite margaritas so I don't want to dog it. However, this is my French dip tonight with no meat and I'll show you the photographs.

So I was very skeptical when I saw the ribeye on the menu. I was even more skeptical when I ordered it medium rare that they could pull it off. The verdict: perfectly cooked, tender and delicious. Great service by Coral, put up with a rowdy bunch of cowboys fans.

I have been here before, but this is by far my worst experience. It was really busy because it was someone's birthday and some sporting events were on tv. So naturally the service was a little slow, but understandable. However, I order Jack Honey on the rocks and to my surprise I was being charged $4 for ice or "the rocks". When I asked The waitress why I was being charged $4 for ice. She replied that "when you order on the rocks, they give you a heavy pour and so they charge you for it." I asked her "shouldn't that be something you asked me if I want? I didn't order a double, I orders a single shot. Your choice to over-pour doesn't add up to me paying extra". She said "this is how their system is set up. When you order a drink 'on the rocks', the system automatically up charges for the over-pour." The waitress was being very nice about the whole explanation, but I think this is ridiculous to charge me because I asked for ice. I doubt I will be returning here as there are many other establishments in the area that do not charge for ice.

So you can classify this place as a "nice dive bar". It's not quite a dive but it's to dank to be considered a normal sports bar. Other than that, the food is good as well as the service.

nasty, greasy food, full of drunks & smokers watching sports - servers were rude as hell, too. Just not a good scene & I'm pretty sure this is where I picked up a case of COVID, so not ever going back!

Got the AZ Steak wrap with citrus jalapeño slaw. The slaw had a fishy after taste. The steak wrap had barely any flavor and barely any steak. After the first half my stomach started hurting, so stopped eating it. Would not recommend. Update: had food poisoning- was in the bathroom for the next 24 hours. It was NOT pleasant.

Got served 2 glasses of Chardonnay while eating dinner, closed the tab and decided to order from bartender. Got refused service because my ID was the old up and down one. 10/10 don't recommend.

We have ordered food to take out and we have dined in for Lunch. Connolly's is consistently FANTASTIC! Dining in, the ambiance is "feel good" and the server made us feel at home. Though we were just out for a Lunch, it somehow felt like we went out with purpose of having a good time. Connolly's menu, I feel ANYONE can find something appetizing to them. We have NO COMPLAINTS and although I have not tried it yet, I hear the Shepherd's Pie is DELISH. I have had the French Dip with cheese a few times, I really like it. Tater Tots were phenomenal, I never knew a Tot could stand out above the rest, but Connolly's did it! I ordered Corned Beef and Cabbage for takeout once and it was dry BUT I will not fault them for that as I believe ordering the Corned Beef Plate in the restaurant will add success to it. With that being said, you may not want to order Corned Beef for take out. Everyone else is always happy with their orders and Connolly's is ALWAYS an exciting option for our family.

Classic wings-house 9/10! Flat bread capris 8/10! Artichoke and spinach dip 6/10. Really nice place they had live music on a Saturday and it was such a vibe! Would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Wings are a must!

Great owners and staff! Always fun times and good food. Highly recommend. Katie was the best tonight. She truly appreciates her customers and always makes them feel welcome.

We've been going to Connelly's for years and I'm finally getting around to leaving a review. I can honestly say that it is that awesome neighborhood bar that everyone wishes they had. The owners are the always so kind and welcoming and food and ambience are great. We've always had servers that are working hard to make sure you are taken care of and have what you need. We've ordered so many different things on the menu from Shepard's Pie, to carnitas tacos, nachos, burgers, and dessert and we've never had a meal that we didn't love. Plus there are always events to check out. We were just at DJ Trivia and had a blast.

Excellent ribeye steak salad. Perfectly cooked; fresh produce and obviously fresh cooked meat. Served with speed and a smile. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable and steady for the weekday lunch traffic which is when I had this very good experience. I can't stand leftovers used in a salad, and this hit the spot. I will be back!!

Came here for a night out, some drinks, and to play some pool with the girls. This neighborhood pub is a good crowd mostly older age group which was ok with us. The drinks were decent and large, the place was clean and atmosphere was friendly. There is security here so make you feel safe and the DJ played any and all of our requests! At one point a friend of mine thought she had lost her purse and was frantically looking around the bar for it. The owner saw her and offered to help. He took a look at the camera footage and found that my friend had actually given her purse to another friend to hold! So the mystery was solved!! He really went above and beyond to help us and was just so kind!! We didn't have any food but would definitely come back here for some drinks and pool anytime we're in town!!

They are not open until 2am. Arrived at 125am and they were closed with a strong Marijuana smell coming from the patio!! Closed or they couldn't work cause they were out of it?

Good service, food, and a great place to watch a sporting event on TV. You can eat inside or outside.

2 Stars - It's was ok and just that. We just purchased a new home in the area and It's the closest neighborhood bar to us and we just weren't impressed. Typical sports bar ambiance, Service was awful for starters and the food was meh.. we aren't picky at all, and we enjoy going and having a cocktail or a couple while grabbing a bite. Probably give it another chance in the future but it will need to be a much different experience. Looking at the other Reviews over the last few months sounds like this place needs some serious help. If I could give this place negative stars, I would. I have never been treated so poorly from any bar in my life. Also, if you're from out of state don't even bother coming to this place. I'm from Los Angeles so obviously I have a California ID. I am currently 23 years old, but my ID is still vertical because it was renewed before I was 21 and it is NOT expired. So I order my drinks, show my ID and the bartender seemed to have an issue with my ID and went to talk to her supervisor. The supervisor comes out to talk to me saying that I can't be using my ID because it is vertical but gave me my drinks regardless. I go back to order more drinks for my friend and I after we finished our first round and she still gave me a hard time saying she couldn't give me any more drinks. The supervisor claimed that bartenders cannot accept vertical ID's. She also claimed that I come into this bar and do this all the time. First of all, I have NEVER been to this bar before so how is that even possible? Secondly, AZ law states "when you turn 21, you may continue to use your driver license or identification card with the special vertical orientation. However, you are eligible to obtain a replacement license with the regular horizontal orientation without the under-21 designation." My friend had pulled this up to reiterate it to her but she basically told me that I needed to fix this when I got back to LA. I have been to many bars in LA and have never had one single problem with my ID. I am over 21 and that is simply where it should have ended. My main message is - if you're from out of state or have a vertical ID, avoid this place.

No one is wearing a mask except the patrons. Lol this is laughable like how is everyone getting away with this. No one that works here except the trained bartenders and waitresses know what they're doing. Lol I'm sorry this is just hilarious. The nachos weren't nachos there was hardly cheese and hardly sour cream nor veggies. I'm sorry for 11$? Not worth my money. We have been waiting 15 minutes to close our check and still nothing... I get their busy but come on. My biggest concern is NO ONE IS WEARING A MASK!!!

Havent really ventured much east on Carefree Highway. Had an AirBnB in the area and drove past Connolly's on the way to it. Checked out some past and current reviews, as well as the online menu and decided to give it a shot. Let's start off by saying that the menu online is not up to date. There are some items online that arent on the real menu. And there are no prices online. Im helping the online community and going to post some pictures of the actual menu. Now on to the food. I started off with the Leprechaun Balls. The menu describes this as "home made mini cordon bleu balls". This item is a good concept and a good tasting item. It is pretty much a boneless hunk of chicken sliced in half with a bit of ham in cheese in the middle. It comes with a side of ranch and some sort of peppered buffalo sauce, which was really good. I tried to ask what was in it. One server didnt know and the bartender, who was my server said it was a secret. Definitely a must try. As im eating this app I keep on thinking ways this could be put together better. To cut a "nugget" in half and then skewer a piece of ham and cheese in between seems like a lot of work. Not sure if it would work better to wrap the cheese and the ham around the chicken? I dont know. But anyway, again, it was good. Came with 6 pieces. My main entree was the Shepard's Pie. The serving size was on point. Came with 2 small hunks of garlic bread. The taste was good and temperature was perfect. Potatoes had a great flavor as well as the gravy. My only complaint about this dish is that the carrots were a little undercooked. But that is just my preference. It didnt take away from the taste as a whole. I would definitely go back. If these 2 items are good I can only hope the rest of the menu is as good, if not better.

The food is good and reasonable price. If you go in and eat it's always 100%. Every time I place an order something is just a bit off. They either forget to remove or add something. Still close by and decent. Will keep going and ordering. Highly recommend the flatbread.

We visited on Mother's Day. Service was great! Buffalo chicken dip appetizer was very good. Loved the chips. Blood Mary was spicy and tasty but I'm not a regular bloody drinker so take that review for face value. Fish and chips were great. Loved the crinkle fries so much! Onion rings were yummy too. Get the ranch and dip all the things in it. It's. So. Good!

So, the sign out front says "Best Sports Bar, Period!" - well News Flash, you might wanna rethink that one. So my son and I wanted to see the Brooklyn Nets / Miami Heat game. We had never been to Connolly's but thought we'd give it a try. We entered the bar and asked the hostess for a table where the heat game was playing. Not only was the Heat game not on...not one NBA Game was on anywhere!!! There was one Az Coyote Game, every TV in the bar was showing taped delayed horse racing from earlier this afternoon, and like 70% of the TV's had Bingo on...BINGO!!! - WTF???? The hostess sat us down literally in the corner and pointed to the TV directly above our heads and said "I'll see if I can get the Heat game on." This wasn't like in front of the table but literally over the table. To watch anything, I would have had to have had a crook in my neck like Igor from a 1943?Frankenstein movie. Suffice to say I said to my son, "Let's blow this place...We'll leave bingo for Ma & Pa Kettle and find another sports bar." Never again...

Food is good. If you want great service seat close to bar. Otherwise it has a great midwestern bar vibes.

Was there for St Patrick's day, had to pay a $20 cover, no big deal. We were there for about 90 minutes, and we're told we had to leave our table inside and told to go outside, stand in room only. Felt very bad for our server, she was a sweetheart. She told us the manager said we had to leave our table, we asked her to have the manager come talk to us, the bitch never showed up. Fuck this place

Just wanted to mention when I order cornbeef and cabbage at a Irish named place I would expect boiled cornbeef and a Quarter of cabbage not fried greasy cornbeef and coleslaw chopped style cabbage. Maybe think about changing to something more traditional. Could not eat cornbeef looked like bacon dry and greasy. Cabbage needed spoon.

Fucking bartender been crying behind the bar. Literally been sitting here for 20 min waiting to even be acknowledged. Could have gone to the gas station. Jesus

Connolly's is ok for watching sports but don't eat there! This place among others apparently are either terrible cooks or they don't wash their hands before handling food, they sneeze into their hand or arm but don't wash afterwards. What happened to cleanliness in restaurants. Sadly this is not the only place in Phoenix or Scottsdale that you get sick from eating the food. What has happened to our society that restaurants don't care about cleanliness anymore. We will definitely not be eating there anymore. Very sad!!!!!!!

A hang out joint trying to pass as a sports bar, a low end bar at best. Food is awful and visual is worse. Ordered a Pulled Pork sandwich with onion rings, Rings are supposed to be crispy, instead, they were nothing but onions in soggy batter, this is because they put your order in a Styrofoam containers that keeps all the moisture in. CHANGE YOU PACKAGING Let's talk about their potato skins...my order looked 3 days old, dry and crusty, I'd wage they were not fresh, see photos. Ordered a French Dip with fries, same issue with the fries as the onion rings...soggy! The meat was so spicy I could only eat half, full of pepper or something. The bread was like a foot long hot dog bun totally wrong for a real French Dip, I'll spare comments about the cheese. Connolly's needs to but some serious TLC into their food. Get some cooks that have true cooking technics that can deliver on taste and presentation.

Notice how the only bad reviews are from Libtards. This place has great food and great service. We love the food and people. Great music Tuesday night. Bar tenders and servers are fast and friendly. Beer is cold. They have a separate "family friendly" area during the day and at night it's an adult bar. The owner is here a lot and makes sure it runs well. We don't ride, but this is a great bar for bikers. The crowd is excellent. Carla, Reno and Gina are standouts, but everyone we've hsd had been great. Don't miss if you're in the area.

I have lived across the street from this place for 3 years now and tonight was the night we finally gave in and ordered takeout. I paid 50$ for a $17 salad, a 17$ burger and a $14 buffalo dip app. 100% positive the 17$ burger is frozen and pre cooked like you get from frys. The burger didnt taste like anything at all you're better off getting 3 double doubles down the street from in n out that taste better and cheaper than this. Way too overpriced for frozen and pre made food. Ill keep ignoring this place like i have for 3 years.

Recomend! Was good when on northern but more years of experience and better location makes for good place to stop. Good food, pool tables, music, off track betting!!!
