Yelp
Conrad. A place I would choose to stay given a choice every time.
Conrad. A hotel which I usually have the best stay.
Anyone who knows me would know I am a big fan of Conrad. Conrad Bali, Conrad Tokyo and now Conrad Hong Kong. Top notch accommodation and world class impeccable service.
Conrad Hong Kong
Conrad Hong Kong is located at 88 Queensway, on top of the Pacific Plaza. There are three hotels accessible from this mall. Conrad Hong Kong is one of them.
It can be a labyrinth to find one's way to the hotel via the mall if you are new to the hotel/area. However, once you learn your way, you should find it is pretty easy to access to the hotel and in fact it's godsend to travel via MTR since it is covered all the way from Admiralty Station. My usual route, go to the 3rd floor of the mall, enter the entrance between Celine and Loewe. Note: you need your keycard to access to your floor (except the lobby area).
~My Room 5/5~
Reasonably size room (especially when we all know space in HK is a premium) with really comfy bed. There were flowers throughout the room. Bathroom amenities were great. Two pairs of room slippers were available. I am someone who really appreciates a hotel which provides slippers for her guests. To me, that's a basic and that separates a fine hotel and a mediocre one. Bathroom robe is of Frette. I am not complaining :D Premium Wi-Fi was available.
The best part?? The view from my room!!! It has a stunning million dollar harbor view. I want to say that's the best view I ever had in recent times or maybe of all times.
~Service 5/5~
Many thanks to the duty Manager, Daniel Wong who was so wonderful upon check in. He even gave me his name card so I could contact him if I have any issue during my stay. How can there be any problem when everything here was so wonderful? :) Service from the staffs at the Executive Lounge to Bellhops to staffs at the restaurant and Housekeeping.. Everyone whom I have interacted during my stay was all absolutely amazing. There was really nothing to pick on during my stay. It was just a bit unreal.
~Dining & more 5/5 ~
Garden Café
Buffet breakfast at Garden Café was excellent. Lots of variety- Chinese, Western and Japanese. The spread was substantial. Service staffs were very attentive. Food quality was definitely on par with what a 5 star hotel should be. On my last day, a group of us went to Golden Leaf for lunch. After ordering and when two of the 6 dishes were served, I asked one of the staff about the use of any peanut product but only be told the restaurant uses peanut oil. :O
Someone at our table has severe peanut allergy so we had to cancel the rest of the order and headed to Garden Café. One of the staffs, Thomas Lai, came out and mentioned they used canola oil or did he say olive oil? Whatever oil as long as not peanut oil would be good, lol!! I helped to explain the situation in Cantonese. He sat us down and assured me whatever the item being ordered from the menu, he would personally assure there would not be any peanut or cross contamination of the allergen. I appreciate Thomas who helped me "defuse" the situation. and took the matter seriously. I would not anyone to suffer from any anaphylaxis episode on my last day in Hong Kong
Executive Lounge
Staffs were, like all the staffs I encountered, very thoughtful. A big shout out to Ken Cho who was very kind during my stay at the hotel. He would give great recommendations and was a great conversationalist. The executive lounge is located on the 59th floor; one can relax and enjoy the amazing view up there. Buffet breakfast, afternoon tea and evening cocktail are also available during different time of the day. Lounge access is open to all Hilton Honors members with status or anyone who was on the executive floors.
Pool
Pool staffs were all friendly and attentive. The pool area was nice and a great place to relax. I witnessed two parents left their young child at the pool area, not before speaking to a staff. I did not know what was being transpired, but it did not matter. Staffs there were not your baby sitters so start acting like responsible parents. Also, a special shout out to one of the pool staffs (the only non-Chinese but able to speak Cantonese cool dude). He was absolutely wonderful and I was told he was so alert one morning when he prevented a baby from getting into an accident in the pool when the parents were not watching.
Once again, Conrad did not disappoint. Felt sad I had to check out :( Look forward to coming back here again. Thank you to all the Conrad Hong Kong staffs who made my stay such a terrific one.
Highly recommend Conrad Hong Kong to anyone who travels to Hong Kong for business or leisure.
