The London NYC

"The London NYC is a true New York anomaly. Its 54 stories stack alongside tightly-packed midtown high-rises and you expect the interiors to be equally cramped and frenetic. Instead, the hotel's 564 suites are oases of spacious calm, larger than many NYC apartments. Each one has a living room with a snooze-inducing leather rocking chair and a massive velour chaise (rooms with pink couches are especially striking – a burst of color among timid neutrals). For workaholics, there’s WiFi, high speed internet and a comfortable dark wood desk. The rest of the suite is likewise minimalist and functional, with a rain shower in the pristine white bathroom and a comfy king-size bed behind French doors. Gordon Ramsey cooks up unique specialties in his eponymous restaurant (see Hot Tables), as well as in the more casual London Bar where diners choose from a daily selection of pricey, but tasty, small plates. The swordfish carpaccio and the quail topped with pate are especially recommended. Unless you’re planning a special event, skip the concierge services of Quintessentially, which are more showy than revolutionary. Note: The hotel will be renovated in Spring 2019 and be rebranded a Conrad."

Pros: beautiful hotel and location We didn’t have the best experience at Conrad. Upon check-in the staff assigned us a room that was already occupied. Sooo, my wife ended up walking in on another couple relaxing in their room (very awkward). We went back to the lobby and the manager apologized and assigned us a new room. He didn’t seem all that concerned about the situation. Once we made it up to our new room the window in our bedroom wouldn’t fully close. The wind noise was very loud and there was a strong draft coming in. 30 minutes later maintenance showed up and said the window was broken. They assigned us a new room. The manager was young and didn’t really know how to handle the situation. We finally got a new room and had a nice night in town but there wasn’t any kind of compensation. Overall, the hotel had a nice atmosphere and rooms were aesthetically pleasing but it wasn’t our favorite experience. Might have just been an off night for the hotel. 🤷‍♂️ Note: I typically only leave reviews when there’s a place or experience I would highly recommend.

Great hotel at an unbeatable location. I have to highlight the friendliness of the staff and the great service, they welcomed us very well and immediately greeted our daughter with a small gift (little teddy bear 🧸), great little gesture and very well received. Hotel room was great, very large with a small living room and a massive bathroom. The beds were great, slept off my jet lag in a matter of days. Would come back here again in the blink of an eye, such a great location and so many touristic highlights at walking distance.

Although we enjoyed our 3-day stay, I wouldn't consider this a 5-star hotel, instead it's a solid 4-star, in my opinion. The location is great - easy 10 out of 10. However, the amenities and service underwhelmed me. Housekeeping never replenished our wash cloths after taking the ones we used out of the shower. We had to ask for new wash cloths each day of our stay. Our AC wasn't cooling the room properly on the first night and maintenance was called to inspect. When he looked at the air filter he let out a gasp...it was filthy and looked like it hadn't been changed in years. A new air filter quickly corrected the issue. The restaurant had overpriced mediocre food and drinks. My favorite thing about the stay was the byredo products and the insane shower water pressure. We would stay here again if the price made sense, but at the price point we paid for our stay, the hotel fell a little short for us.

Google
Love this hotel. I’ve now stayed here four times and every time the service has been top notch. This time around, I brought my 3 month old baby and our pitbull. The hotel was super accommodating and provided us a pack and play and an extra mini fridge. The door men were so excited to see our pup and provided him with much attention and pets. It’s just a great hotel, the rooms are clean, and great amenities. They provide Byredo products, which are pretty top tier when it comes to personal hygiene products. Definitely recommend staying here since it’s only a few blocks from Central Park and pretty close to Times Square but far enough that you’re not in the hustle and bustle of it.

Google
Location is great. Room was clean. City view was not what I expected I would have when booking. Service is completely lacking. Long wait for breakfast. No one helped carry luggage to the room. The room itself is large but it is definitely a no frills hotel and not what I expected a luxury hotel would be. Would definitely spend a little more to stay somewhere else next time and would not stay here again.

Google
Priced at a 5-star hotel. Service of a motel. An hour after my call, and was still waiting for the bedding that they told me they'd get up urgently. After 2 calls down, then stopping down, I called again and they go 'oh, it has been so long they thought you fell asleep". Terrible... Oh, plus there was the previous occupants milk left in the fridge (it was open). We also walked back to the hotel at one point and when getting into the elevator, the one bell hop walked into the employee area and screamed obscenities so loud, it was like he was talking right next to us and my 7-year old caught up on that immediately. That was completely unprofessional. The breakfast was pretty awful. I've never had a drier potato than the ones they served here with breakfast. The eggs were cooked but beyond that, there is nothing more I can say there. They have a 'continental" and "full buffet" option but unfortunately, the "full buffet" option is what you'd consider continental at most places. AND, it just wasn't good. All that said, our waiter took 15 minutes to speak to us - I may have fallen asleep before the coffee arrived. It wasn't all bad - the bar tender was great, one of the receptionist was awesome and the one bell hops was fantastic! That being said, this is probably the worst hotel I've stayed in over the last 12 months and all they had to do was try ....

Google
I had a great experience here at the Conrad. I'm a Diamond Hilton member (please note, they will no longer be under Hilton soon), and my King room was upgraded to a suite. The lady at the front desk was pleasant and very professional. She got me checked in quickly and explained my AMEX benefits. My room was very spacious. Bathroom had great water pressure. My only issue was the bed and pillows. My pillows were super flat and the bed was uncomfortable. The decor was tasteful and the elevators were quick. The bellman was helpful with my luggage and hailing a cab, as necessary. The location is great in Midtown. It gets you away from the hustle and bustle of Times Square but still close if that's your thing.

Google
Great hotel. We really enjoyed our stay and the rooms/housekeeping service was phenomenal. The location is great with two Subway stations within a block and plenty to walk to. I was upgraded to a one bedroom upon request. I used my Hilton F&B credit for drinks each night and they allowed you to take drinks back to room as well which was nice after a long day. I highly recommend Premier Deli next door for breakfast and dessert.

Yelp
Staying here was a dream. The staff was super friendly and accommodating. They offered us a discounted upgrade to a 1 bedroom suite and it was the most luxurious stay we've ever had. In our initial room, the door lock was broken so they moved us immediately to another room instead of having to wait for someone to fix the door jam. When we come back to visit we will definitely come back here again.

Yelp
4.5 STARS I've stayed at this location twice. Once in March 2022 for 4 nights and earlier this month, January 2024 for 1 night. This hotel is in a great location in Midtown. Easy to walk everywhere if you would like to be in this neighborhood. March 2022 - 4 nights - Room 3308 - One Bedroom Suite, Two Queens I was staying with a girlfriend and we were seeing a bunch of shows, so this was a good area to be in. We arrived early from our redeye flight and were able to check in around 12 noon. The room was spacious and and comfy. We got two robes, slippers, etc. The layout for the closet was a little odd as it's by the front door, but it was totally fine. We didn't spend much time in the room anyways. Service was amazing. We even got a separate fridge for some food my gf wanted to bring back home. January 2024 - 1 night - Room 2810 - One Bedroom Suite, One King I again stayed with a gf for one night since I was moving to a different neighborhood later. We took a redeye and were able to check in around 12 noon. Dinner was around this area as well, so convenient. Our room didn't come with the usual robes and slippers, but I called for them, so the issue was easily resolved. The room layout here was much better with the closet being next to the bathroom. Much more convenient. I also booked a junior suite with a queen and luckily got upgraded since I'm a diamond member. A nice little perk. Definitely a great location if seeing shows.

Yelp
You know that stereotype that people from. NYC are rude and unfriendly. Well the only time I experienced that was while we were staying at this hotel. While the hotel was very beautiful and clean, the staff left more to be desired. They weren't as welcoming or nice as I would have liked. The front desk person was like "you go over there" while pointing to the concierge when I had a question about a package. Also the conceige wasn't very helpful either when I asked if I could get a fridge in my room. He said that we can't promise one. I'll ask housekeeping, but I wouldn't get a confirmation whether or not that request would go through. Not everyone was bad though. When we first arrived, the doorman was so nice and helped us bring all our bags up and get extra bottles of water for our group. He was so friendly and then we found out he had lived in California close to where we were from. No wonder. The rooms were very modern and clean. Decor was from places like West Elm and other designer stores. I loved the location. It was close to all the main tourist sites. I would think for the price you pay to stay here, the staff would be willing to be kind and friendly to all the guests.

Yelp
Another wonderful Hilton hotel! Location is definitely the key and this Conrad is perfectly situated between Columbus Circle, Times Square and 5th ave. You can easily get to one of 3 subway stations within a matter of minutes or make your way down to the Big Bus stop, right down off of Broadway. The best part being the perfect distance from Times Square to avoid being sucked into that daily ideocracy. The hotel comes with a great staff and a very accommodating Concierge, they also have a bar/restaurant off of the lobby that makes a wonderful Old Fashioned. Unfortunately there is no outdoor seating, but there an excellent restaurant, La Grande Boucherie, right across the street with an outdoor dining room. I thoroughly enjoyed this hotel, it was worth every penny and provided a comfortable home base on this latest visit to NYC. Cheers!

Yelp
No wonder the hotel has a 3.6 out of 5 rating on Yelp. Here's my experience: 1. **Wrong Room Assignment** I booked a one-bedroom suite with a king-size bed. As a Diamond member, I politely inquired about the possibility of a room upgrade to one with a park view. I was immediately informed that the upgrade would cost an additional $100, so I decided to stick with my original 1 king-size bed. I was assigned room 5214. After leaving my luggage in the room, I went out. Upon my return around 9 PM, I discovered that the bed was actually a queen-size, not a king-size as booked. 2. **Bathroom Amenities** I took a shower and noticed that some of the containers for bathroom amenities were empty. I sent a message to the hotel at 9 PM and received confirmation at 10 PM that someone would address the issue. However, no one ever came to refill the amenities, and the issue remained unresolved until I checked out. 3. **20% tip is included in takeout orders** Be aware that automatic 20% gratuity is included in the bill for takeout orders. Overall, these experiences were quite disappointing and detracted from my stay.

Yelp
Recently stayed one night in a King Bed Suite. The good: Location is convenient central, close to Times Square, Rockefeller, Central Park, 5th Ave if these are in your itinerary. These are walkable within 20-30 mins. Front desk staff and restaurant staff are nice. Didn't have much interaction with them so nothing to rave about. It's simple what you'd expect - nice, efficient. Suite was clean and spacious. Comfy, modern design and furniture. The bad: "Park view" is more like "park facing". You don't actually get a view of the park. One would expect that being asked to upgrade to a park view means actually getting a decent view -- NO. Don't be bamboozled into upgrading. Save your money, you're not missing out. See attached pictures. When I checked out and told the front desk I was disappointed, and if I had known the park view was nothing then I would not have agreed to a paid upgrade. She wrote onto a note pad, but they will probably keep advertising that suite as a park view. At least, change the description to "5% park view". This suite # 3305. Dabble, the hotel's restaurant, is way overpriced. Although, the food was truly delicious--tasty, hot, well-cooked...the portion to price ratio was really unappealing. Hopefully you would have saved from getting bamboozled into a 5% park view to help pay for the restaurant bill.

Yelp
Stayed here for three nights very comfortably. Smells so clean, and staff is very polite and friendly. I was surprised with the size of the suite! We had a double queen size bedroom suite with tv and beautiful decore. The living room was spacious with big screen tv large closet, large dinette and views of street below. Loved to find a comfortable robe and slippers in the bathroom!! I would definitely want to stay here again if the price is reasonable.

Yelp
On a recent work trip, I wasn't sure what to expect with the Conrad. The location was great, close to coffee shops and food places. A few blocks south of Central Park. Within walking distance to all of the work related places we had to visit. The traffic wasn't fun but it wasn't worse than any other place in midtown. The room was spacious and decorated nicely. You could see the age of the room just looking at the baseboards, parts of the walls, and the mold around the shower caulking. The parquet flooring in the room was a cute touch. Everything about an upscale room was there: mini bar, robe, laundry service, room service, pillow mints, etc. the strangest thing did happen, the third day I received a wellness check call. It was odd because even though I had a do not disturb sign up during the second day, they came in (after taking the sign down) to service the room. I also found the ice machine was out on our floor, but the floor above was working. The ice machine also has a water fountain. The only way up the floors was by room key 24/7. That was a nice security feature. They have a door man and a security detail in the lobby so you feel safe. The security guy was really sweet. Overall, a nice place to stay in. Great views if you get the right angle.

Yelp
Full disclosure: this review is based off of booking a room using (a ton) of Hilton points. Unless you are independently wealthy I think paying straight cash money (~$700/night) to stay here is definitely not worth it. The overall service here is good, definitely above average but not super amazing. The rooms are clean and spacious but not like "WOW." My advice would be to try and get a room on the highest floor possible... I think that would be 52nd as the 53rd and 54th floors are for the giant suites. Get one that is facing central park and hope you can get a partial view of it. There is actually a taller bigger building right between the Conrad and the park so i don't there is a room that provides unobstructed views of the park. Overall the location is probably as good as it gets since it's a very short walk to Central Park, 5th Ave., and Times square.

Yelp
I experienced rude and robotic services, homophobia, ageism and racism at Conrad Midtown NYC. I took my parents who came all the way from Japan so that they can experience great NYC experiences. This hotel ruined everything. Location was great but that's the only redemption at this hotel. Probably they have a targeted customer base (I.e. Conference attendees and business travelers who are mostly white). My impression was that their priority was to cater their needs but certainly not ones of families who are not white and whose first language is not English. At the check-in, the front desk staff didn't know how to smile, was so focused on only paperwork and forgot customers' needs. I made a line for 30 mins to just check-in, the staff was a robot without manners, albeit a touch of racism. She was smiling nicely at the previous customers before me in the line who were white and wore formal business attires. My turn to check-in came up and her guard was up and she became a robot. Without a hint of o smiles, she was only telling me what I need to be aware at this hotel. Once she's done with the robotic disclaimers, I asked if we could check-in 30 mins earlier. It was 2:30pm. We were flat-out declined. Please note that I paid over $5,000 for 3 nights. I thought a bit of flexibility might be accommodated but that was not possible at this hotel. We came back to the hotel after several hours. It was way past their check-in time of 3pm. To my surprise, we were again declined to check-in. The same staff told me the room wasn't ready. She added to tell me to wait at the lobby area. My 73 year old parents were dead tired at this point. I IMPLORED to be let in our room, she simply repeated the same. She simply didn't care. Not a word to my parents, she was only reluctantly glanced at them and finally said that they would OFFER us OUR connecting room for us yo wait till our rooms are ready. The connecting room was so small. We basically had to bury ourselves in our belongings without water or any amenities that could ease out stress level. After over AN HOUR, our rooms were finally "ready". The card keys didn't work. I called the front desk and they had us wait for additional 30 minutes. It as almost 6pm. The room rate for the first night was over $1,500. Rooms were ok. The views were excellent. The cleaning, however, was the worst - the dust all over the refrigerator and many hairs on the bathroom floor. I thought I could make a wig. Our card keys stopped working additional 2 more times after this. Each time we waited for over 30 mins. The thermostat in our rooms were down, so our rooms were so cold. It took over an hour to have an engineer come up to fix it. I called, called and called as my parents were very tired and wanted to relax in a comfortable temperature. However, they decided to stop responding to my calls as if they thought we were pests continuously calling for services. We were left in the lurch. At this point, I decided to report this to an outside agency. They directed me to the police (Yes- POLICE!). Long story short, the police came over to out room with 2 hotel managers (Yes- somebody finally came up) and basically ganged up on me. I gave up and decided to take whatever they do at this hotel at that point. We were starving and tired, so we're forced to use the in-room dining, which ended up in $300. The food was ok, definitely overpriced. The similar bad experiences ensued for the next two days. Adding fuel to the fire, after we checked out they charged me multiple unauthorized charges to my credit card, which amounted to about $2,000. I had to dispute and they finally refunded. It was like a long nightmare and an experience as humiliating as you were in a prison. My parents never complained but I could feel they were very disappointed in what happened and in despair about the hotel's inability to provide ANY services we wanted. If you're looking for a hotel that provides good humane services with a cost of $5,000 for three nights, Conrad Midtown NYC is definitely not the one and I strongly recommend you look elsewhere. Knowing the hotel is all about covering their rear end to look innocuous, I know a cursory and half-baked apologizing comment on my review would be made from the hotel. If not, they seem to have learned some lessons about customer services and invest their time on improving it rather than spending copious amount of time backtracking their mistakes and disservice.

Yelp
We had a pleasant and unpleasant stay 1/28 + 1/29/2023 at the Conrad. Let me tell you why. Being located on the side street, it's hard to hail a taxi. That's fine just walk down towards the main left or right. Hotel room itself was not very clean. The robe I wore had some nasty, crusty things on it and I didn't realize until later- yuck. The refrigerator had someone else's food and that left this super stinky stench in the room. Some of the glasses were used and not clean. So we eventually transferred rooms. Second night, the fire alarm goes off super early morning. I kid you not, the fire alarm goes off like an early morning alarm clock. No apologies just false alarm. The beds were comfy, the shower had hot water, and room service was decent. I've stayed at Conrad's before but this one in Midtown NY, just was not as good experience.

Yelp
Updating my review from another previous stay .. Customer service is pretty much non-existent here. The valet guys on arrival was very attentive & helpful. But when calling the front desk or concierge on the phone, I waited over two hours for someone to answer & assist with my car. At one point, the concierge answered & said they were going to call back for my car details & never did. It was extremely frustrating to the point where I had to physically go down myself to get things sorted out. The lady down at the desk with the dark black hair pinned up was extremely helpful once I spoke with her about what happened. This is highly unacceptable. For the price of these rooms, I would expect stellar customer service.

Yelp
My wife and I were touring NYC for three nights. We found this hotel to be perfectly located for things we wanted to do. We found the staff to be friendly and accommodating. We stayed at a suite on the 32nd floor. Check-in and check-out: 5 stars Very friendly staff. They also gave us complimentary late checkout until 1pm. Our flight was not for several hours so they kept our bags for several hours after our check-out. Cleanliness/cleaning service: 5 stars The rooms were clean. We stayed at a suite with an attached living room. Really no complaints about the cleanliness. There is cleaning service and a turndown service in the evening. Comfortable bed: 5 stars Whenever my wife and I go on a trip, we religiously miss our Tempur. And while the bed didn't match the comfort of our home Tempur, it was still very comfortable. I usually experience some backaches and neck pains after sleeping in a hotel bed for a few nights. Not the case here. We were super pleased. Bathroom: 4 stars Nothing terrible about the bathroom. It was clean. There were plenty of towels. Large mirror. But, it was a big space with a standup shower, a single sink, a toilet, and a vanity all out in the open without any partition. I wish there was at least some kind of partition for the toilet. It may just be my personal preference. Extras: 5 stars Plenty of storage space. A large mirror by the closet area. Coffee machine worked great. Large self service bar with beverages and sodas stocked. No complaints about the TVs. Walls had USB ports. Up to date. Automated blinds and drapes. Comfortable couch. Sizeable dining table. Lights were bright. Location: Million stars If you're touring. Midtown is the way to go. Subway station is a 3 minute walk. Central Park is super close. 5 minute walk to the fifth avenue if you like to shop. We had reservations at restaurants in uptown and downtown. We used Uber some but everything else seemed to be within walking distance. Overall: 5 stars We're coming back to this hotel! Reserve it with confidence!

Yelp
The staff are amazing. the apartments are really nice with nice views. I really think the AC should go lower than 68 at night in the summer. The rooms don't get cool enough. one star removed for that.

Yelp
Oh Conrad Midtown, how you have spoiled me! I recently hit Diamond status and was eager to have this hotel as my very first stay at this tier level. My boyfriend and I love hotels. Where most people vacation to places and couldn't care less about the rooms, it's just as important for us to feel pampered and luxurious when we are indoors. Conrad Midtown is certainly not cheap and many people don't know it exists as it had previously been called The London. We wanted to ensure that our trip was memorable so we booked our stay here. Prior to arriving, we had reached out many times leading up to our reservation regarding several different items. We were able to get upgraded to a park view bedroom suite from the standard view, had a promise of the adorable Conrad plush ready for us upon check in, and even got the room ready by 7:30 AM on arrival day. Now if that's not excellent service, I don't know what is! In addition, we were also recommended by Woodey to book a room that ends in -01 as it is a corner room with a view of Hudson River and Central Park. It certainly did not disappoint. As a Diamond member, we got the daily $25/person food and beverage credit to use for room service since Dabble wasn't open yet. They waived the service charge because of this. When we left for dinner, we requested turndown service and came back to a handwritten note thanking us for our stay along with a box of chocolates. How absolutely precious! Overall, I am very thoroughly impressed by the level of attentiveness and service that we received from the hotel staff prior to, during, and even after our stay. I know now that whenever someone asks me where to stay in midtown, I have absolutely no qualms about recommending Conrad midtown in a heartbeat! Special thanks to all including Woodey, Katerina, Ann, Matt, and Angel! (41/100--2021)

Yelp
This hotel was ok. I think the best part was the location . The proximity to central park, shopping, and the subway was ideal. The hotel is advertised as 5 star however it does not meet the criteria of a 5 star hotel in my opinion. They fell short in a few areas, but the employees seemed to be trying. Upon check-in I was upgraded with my Hilton Gold status, which was quite nice. I was told that the room we were placed in had a central park view along with a pull out sofa bed. I was sharing a room with my friend for our quick shopping and theater trip, so the sleeper sofa was necessary. The room had a very nice layout, however we were missing some toiletries, and the central park view is a sliver of trees, even on a high floor. I wouldn't pay extra for that. We went about our evening but asked for turndown service for the sleeper sofa. Upon arrival back to the hotel at 10pm, I found a rollaway bed in the living room. The sofa was not a sleeper as verified by staff twice. I spent my night tossing and turning on a rollaway. The next morning, I notified the front desk, and while we were moved to a different room on a high floor, it was smaller and they forgot to move our bags once it was available. That evening, the sofa bed was to have a turndown service again but they never completed it, and had to come in at 11pm to help me out. This room was also missing water and soap, which was delivered after requesting it. The communication at the front desk is lacking, although the staff is quite friendly. The kitchen lost our breakfast order on our last day, and we waited over an hour. We ended up getting food off the buffet which at best was mediocre. Food prices and alcohol prices were high, but this is NY. The door men were really great, they were dressed sharp, kept an eye out for us, and I honestly think they memorized every guest that walked through the door. They helped us grab cabs and even held the umbrella for us getting into our cars. There were some really nice highlights but also unacceptable ones. I'm not certain if we would stay here again.

Yelp
This is NOT a luxury hotel, it's far from it!!At a luxury hotel, everything should be in perfect working order and you should have great service, but this was anything BUT THAT! Conrad Hilton... when you want to charge these prices for a hotel room, EVERYTHING should be top notch! We had holes in our SHEETS, a bathroom door that stayed open because it didn't even shut, and a dead/moldy plant in the bathroom. When checking into the hotel, our room wasn't ready (which is understandable) because we were early, but I did ask for them to call when it was ready and though they said of course, didn't do that, nor did they do anything "special" for us given all the inconveniences. With all the hotels that are in the city, my recommendation is to pick another. We also had breakfast there, I ordered a latte... waited a while because I was being patient... ultimately asked where it was and they admitted it was forgotten. They weren't busy, just lousy service! The only good thing was our Bellman Chris, who was extremely nice and helpful!! You wanna call your hotel "Luxury"?? No way!!

Yelp
Have been here 2 days, with no soap in rooms. Room cleaning staff said they have been out for days. I would think staff would send someone to the store to buy normal soap for guests to use in their rooms. Supply your guests with normal, and required hygiene items. Also the room does not have a chain or security device on the room door. So a cleaning lady came in after gently tapping her card 4 times in the door. I barely heard it and had no idea if it was a normal city noise as the room has a lot of street and hotel noise as it is.

Yelp
The amenities here are below, below average. We booked this through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts. This property should not be listed in that category. Breakfast is mediocre at best. Terrible service. The bathrooms are unisex with no toilet seat cover sheets or kleenex. One smells like sewer. When I asked about getting toilet seat covers they said of course but by the next day it had not been addressed. I asked to speak to the GM and was told that they would notify him. Unacceptable. This property is on par with a 2 - 3 star hotel.

Yelp
Beautiful hotel and perfect location for sight seeing. What brought it down a star for us was the fact that the previous guests leftover food was left in our fridge! Doesn't seem like housekeeping checks that at all.

Yelp
Amazing! We were able to book a Saturday only a few days prior to visiting this February. And as Hilton Diamond member, we received a complimentary upgrade to a suite as well as a $50 credit to use at their restaurant for dinner or breakfast. Our room was gorgeous. Definitely what you expect from this kind of hotel. The living space was spacious and had a great view looking toward the river. It was awesome not to be scrunched up right next to another brick wall. A comfortable couch, a breakfast table as well as a cabinet with a fridge of alcohol and an espresso maker. The bedroom featured a king size bed and a long hallways with two large closets. The bathroom was covered with stunningly white tile that just sent me to heaven. The shower was nice, there was a separate mirror for the ladies (and a hair dryer) and ample lighting. The hotel restaurant provides a happy hour for diamond members from 5-6p, so we took advantage of that. It's a simple menu, but delicious! We also got a burger to share. The people were gracious and always had a smile. We can't wait to visit again!!

Yelp
I booked a room and paid upfront. This was a nonrefundable rate. My wife and I flew from San Diego to NY and were told that the reservation had been canceled and they had no rooms. The charge had posted on my credit card and we never received any notice of cancelation. This was a screwup on Hiltons part. They basically put us on the street at 9:00pm. Never book with Hilton. There is no guarantee you will get a room.

Yelp
Carolina 1 Welcoming Review of Conrad New York Midtown Reviewed today I've been staying at The Conrad Midtown since it was the Riga Royal in the 90s. It has gone through many ownership changes over the years. The suites are spacious, spotless, and quiet. But the biggest asset they have is their staff. They are friendly, professional, and extremely helpful. Plus it's always pleasant when they remember you from previous stays. I recently stayed there for a few nights. Checked out and headed to LGA. My flight was delayed. Then canceled. I headed back to The Conrad. The staff asked why I was back. I explained the flight cancelation. They could not have been more welcoming. Whether you're in NY for business or pleasure treat yourself to this great hotel.

Yelp
We stayed here a week ago (March 2022) and really enjoyed our stay. I booked it through my AMEX rewards and we were given upgrades upon check-in, including late checkout and credit for breakfast or the mini bar. It's a modern feel with kind staff and everything was beautiful. We had people check in on us once when we left the Do Not Disturb sign up too long and even had turn-down service one night. We didn't have any noise complaints or messiness issues, our stay was one of the best we've ever had. I like how the rooms were big and had a front sitting area. It's in a great location too, we walked basically everywhere.

Yelp
We stayed here for a quick weekend trip and it was an average experience. I am loyal to the Hilton umbrella but I wasn't too impressed with the Conrad. We stayed on the 52nd floor as the room was nice! The bathroom was nice too with a vanity mirror in addition to the sink. What I wasn't too impressed with was the staff, they didn't seem too welcoming. I've stayed at other higher end hotel chains and the staff has been incredibly friendly and accommodating. The Conrad did not stick out to me. It was conveniently located in midtown! For the price there other hotels around town that I'd recommend over this one.

Yelp
Currently staying here through Sunday. It's a big weekend for me and my mother and I went ahead and booked the impresario package via my travel agent. This is NOT a 5 star luxury hotel. We parked in the parking garage right across from the hotel which was convenient. At 9pm the doorman saw us crossing the street with big luggage and instead of fretting us and opening the door he stared at us and walked away off to the side and just stared at us. (Management this was on 4/5) but it's clear management doesn't really care. So maybe all the reviews online about how great the service is because they were writing a travel blog. Got up to the room, no welcome note or fruit and no Conrad bear. I texted the day before regarding our package allotted upgrade so they gave us a one bedroom park view suite on the 45th floor. We got to the room and the toilet seat is yellowing because of how old it is, there are no robes, the wall light fixture is coming off the wall, and the bathroom is filthy. We took a Clorox wipe to the faucet and got yellow gunk on the handles. Called the front desk this morning to order room service breakfast and as soon as I said I'm having trouble getting an answer from room service on the phone the front desk didn't let me finish talking and mid sentence just transferred me to room service. No one answered. Wtf?? I should've stayed at the Trump hotel, Langham, or Ritz...the rooms have always been fresh smelling, clean, and service impeccable with people actually doing their job like a 5 star hotel. My friend actually reviews hotels for a well known magazine and he told me to take more photos and document my experience in private to see what is actually going on. Or maybe because we are small Asian woman they don't feel the need to serve us.

Yelp
This review is only for the bar. Drinks were quite expensive and were at least $20 a drink. I got the lavender martini which was good and not too sweet. With lavender, you never know how strong it's going to be but they did it well. We also got some mixed nuts for the table which were pretty good though too heavy on the peanuts.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place more and I think 3 stars is more than generous. Checked in early which was great and I checked in via the app but they needed to see us as the front desk. No big deal. Check in was smooth. Door and front desk staff were great. Due to status we were "upgraded" to a high floor city view. I didn't feel like it was an upgrade in the least but it was whatever because we weren't there for views from the hotel. The room itself is very modern and spacious. Getting a suite in NYC is a luxury within itself as other hotels I have stayed at you could barely have enough space to walk in between the bed and tv stand. Bathroom is gorgeous. The minibar was well stocked and I'm sad to confess that we tapped it several times even at their price point. What people pay for convenience. Due to our status we got a food and beverage credit for two. The credit is really for one. They are supposed to provide free breakfast for diamond members and one guest and if they can't they can offer the credit in lieu of that which they did. But the credit doesn't cover the equivalent of two breakfasts. Credit is also use or lose. So first day we ordered room service. After the phone rang to room service like 20+ times we were finally able to order a small pastry basket and a beverage for like $50. The following day we used our food and bev credit in the on-site restaurant which was horrible. They didn't have an ala carte menu and just served buffet style for breakfast. The food tasted bad. Service was slow but they were busy and staff was nice in the restaurant. Their food just wasn't. Food and bev credits cannot be used on the mini bar. I expected a little bit more in terms of amenities other 5 star hotels In the area or even under the Hilton brand just offer a little more onsite amenities than this hotel. Location is the best highlight of this hotel - near Times Square, Central Park and great restaurants. The bar next door names and faces lounge was a nice little treat as well.

Yelp
We have reached out many times via phone calls, emails, etc. over the past few months to encounter dead end after dead end, and unprofessional followup all around. So while the sentiments of "it is never our intention to leave a severe matter unresolved" sound nice-- actions speak louder than words, and the lack of resolution or even followup by the Conrad New York Midtown staff speaks volumes in this case. Would be happy to revise this update if something changes-- but so far nothing to show. Other travelers-- consider yourself warned! You can find MANY comparable yet much better luxury hotels right in Midtown (e.g., Peninsula, Plaza, Ritz Carlton, Park Hyatt, St. Regis, Thompson Central Park)-- take a look at those first!

Yelp
I enjoyed my stay here for 1 night. The hotel was in the perfect location if you are visiting NYC and going to see a Broadway show or visit Times Square. The staff was friendly and polite. Our original room was not ready upon arrival but they were kind enough to give us an upgrade which was amazing. The room was spacious and comfortable. Loved the shower and the sitting area. One thing to note there is no full length mirror in the bedroom or bathroom only in the front of the room by the door which was annoying. The room service prices are ridiculously high even for NY. The view is of other buildings so that was a damper. Overall it was

Yelp
The only way I do NYC now. Absolutely stunning remodel. The room/suites are gigantic by New York standards, so comfortable and well appointed. On my first stay we actually cancelled our dinner plans to be able to stay in and enjoy the room. I had to come back so my second stay here I planned ahead and left enough "enjoy this gorgeous hotel" time! Every time I stay here I comment that I wish I could just move in.....someone send for my things in Texas! The staff was absolutely incredible tending to needs you didn't even know you had! Loved the location, walkable to shows without being too close to Times Square madness and easy access to lower Central Park. This will always be my first choice when coming to NYC!

Yelp
I utilize an American Express reward voucher here...I have zero complaints! The service was top notch! The doorman (porter) was great...parked my car off to the side until I could come back to move it AND upon leaving, I was able to have my rental car off to the side, while they kept an eye on it from getting ticketed! I had some ice packs that needed to be kept cold, but no freezer in the hotel room, but the front desk kept them cold for me in their personal freezer. Meal room service was excellent...fast, proficient, great food! The soaps and lotions in the room are top notch! All the amenities are superb! We also could see the Times Square Ball housing from our room. I also utilized the business center and was able to make color prints! I have never seen color prints offered for free at any hotel! We also received an upgrade for our stay, to a better room, due to being a Hilton diamond member!

Yelp
Very disappointing. Stayed here recently for a work trip. Initially, I was pleasantly surprised - the room was a junior suite, and the extra space is always greatly appreciated in a city like NY. It came with a king bed and a nice seating area. My complaints primarily stem from the fact that there wasn't a single day that went issue-free at this hotel. First off, the housekeeping. I've never really experienced housekeeping like this before, and definitely not at any hotel that markets itself as "luxury." It felt like they just did half their job everyday. They would take used towels but not replace them, so I just ended up with very few towels after a couple days. They also didn't replace coffee pods half the time. The couple of times they did replace my coffee pods, they often replaced with all decaf, although it was obvious that I only drink the caffeinated pods and no decaf. They separately never took my dirty mugs or provided me with new mugs. It got so bad that I resorted to leaving notes all over the room explicitly requesting all the things I needed after a couple of nights. They also never replaced any toiletries until I expressly requested them. Second, the bed. The bed is not very comfy - it's a bit lumpy and I felt like I kept rolling towards the middle. Third, the tech. I had to log in to my netflix account separately every single night. Also, my reservation at this hotel was two separate reservations for a total of 10 days for administrative reasons. They shut off my wifi access at the end of my first reservation. Why? I'm obviously still in the room that I pre-paid for. The worst part is that I wrote an email listing out all of my complaints. I got a phone call asking for an update, and then they continued to do the SAME THINGS. Overall, my stay here was very frustrating and I did not enjoy it. For just a few bucks more a night, I would definitely rather stay at the Palace.

Yelp
Pleasant, spacious, and comfortable junior suite. Anodine, unoffensive, yet uninteresting decor. Service is good both at reception and for in room requests. Could have used more bathing supplies as standard. Room ha a serious lack of sensibly placed electrical outlets. Gym is good but focuses on weight machines and dumbells without a bar and plates. Lots of treadmills, although the one I used has some mechanical issues. Has Peletons. Pet friendly.

Yelp
#Balling at the Conrad! Checked in for a night and got upgraded because of my sweetie's Hilton points. Gorgeous suite on the 51st floor, park and river view on one direction and city views in the other. The restaurant is closed now but they have room service for breakfast and dinner. Hilton Diamond stays brought a food credit. Everyone in the lobby is extremely nice, the hotel is extremely clean, and our suite is spacious (this is an all suite hotel). I'm not used to people not masking up inside (coming from Cali!) but I wasn't in public area very often so it's fine. Loving the Conrad!

Yelp
I stayed here in May of 2019 while there was still some construction in the ground floor going on. It was well-hidden so wasn't a big eye sore or anything. In this all-suite hotel, I was majorly impressed by the huge room and all the amenities. I wish I could live in an apartment like their hotel rooms in Manhattan! It's obviously in the great location, walking distance to hundreds of points of interest. I see lots of complaints from other Yelpers, but I didn't have the same experience as them. The elevators were actually pretty fast. They were very transparent about my diamond status benefits and I used them all without issue. The front desk staff was super helpful and I was able to get late check-out to 3PM. I only wish they would've put me on a higher floor. It's expensive so not sure if I'd stay again while there are so many other options, but this hotel is a good choice if you want a higher end nice room.

Yelp
We were spending the weekend in NYC and wanted to use some points and a free night cert. We were originally booked at the Conrad Downtown, but at the last minute availability opened up here, and I'm SO glad it did. LOCATION: super convenient for tourists. Walkable to Times Square, all the Broadway theaters, Central Park, Fifth Ave shopping, and MoMA. It's on a relatively quiet block so it's a relaxing escape from busy midtown. Very close to 2 subway stations, E/B/D stop just south and N/Q/R/W stop just north of the hotel. I do like a more neighborhood type feel, but if you are visiting the city for the typical attractions it's a perfect location. ROOMS: in a word, perfect. We were originally booked in a junior suite but were upgraded to a one bedroom city view suite. There was a spacious living room with a dining table in a bay window--we overlooked the skyline and saw a little bit of Central Park on the 29th floor. Love the Nespresso machine. The bedroom has a perfect king bed with amazing pillows. There is a walk in closet area that leads to the bathroom which is quite beautiful. The shower has amazing pressure! The room as a whole feels high end yet so comfortable and homey, it's pretty much everything you could ever want in a room. HOTEL: while the rooms are spacious, the public areas of this hotel are compact but still very well appointed. The lobby, while small, has a unique sculpture and smells divine. A restaurant rounds out the first floor. The second floor had some conference space, and the fourth floor has the gym--we were too tired after walking in the city to check out the gym. NYC can be exhausting but as soon as you enter the hotel, it feels like an escape. The interior design feels unmistakably New York, modern but timeless. DINING: we did room service for both of our breakfasts. The food was good, but nothing getting to get excited for. I was disappointed the continental breakfast didn't even have fresh fruit--$30 for a basket of four pastries, a cup of coffee and juice feels stingy. The hot food was cooked well and everything was presented nicely, but had we not had a a $50 per day credit from being Hilton Diamond, we would have gotten breakfast elsewhere. STAFF: uniformly lovely. Every staff member we interacted with was gracious and professional, never pretentious...even when we came in off the street dripping from sweat after schlepping our bags through the subway and streets. The text service was so convenient and the staff really made our stay seamless. We asked over text if there was a way we could heat up some leftovers, and the staff had a mini fridge and microwave sent to our room. In short, this is an amazing property. The rooms, staff, and location are all top notch. The breakfast options were a little underwhelming, but this is probably the only negative about this hotel. It's spoiled me for all other NYC hotels, I really hope to return here again soon

Yelp
I always think of Hilton as reliably good but not great. This time there really outdid themselves. We booked through Amex fine hotels collection so we got some perks but even without them things were exemplary. First we got in really early and Amex gets you non check in if available but the front desk lady (who apologized profusely for not being able to get us in earlier even though it was in no way her fault) managed to get us into a room by 10:30! The room was great, everything clean and high quality (I actually didn't feel bad walking barefoot on the carpet!). The bed is possibly the most comfortable one I've ever had at a hotel and the fact it's a suite with a separate sitting area is so nice! The shower handle was stuck and I had to push it harder than I should have but that was about the only thing wrong with the entire stay. We got a breakfast credit that covered the basic buffet for both of us (no hot items) and left a little over for drinks later (apparently it's supposed to be for breakfast only but on check in they told us use it anytime - at checkout they told us that isn't the case but removed the charge anyway) The buffet was pretty good. Lots of pastries, bagels and lox, sliced Turkey, salami and cheeses and a selection of cereals as well as a granola. Some parfait desserts and fruit rounded out the options. It apparently comes with coffee or juice which was nice. Service was excellent except one time our coffee order took a while. The bartender was really nice and attentive and room service was spot on. We ordered a steak dinner with salad and dessert and it was in the room less than half an hour later. Everything was delicious! The gym is very nice (although a few of the cable pull machines were broken) and they even have a full sized punching bag with gloves! We got 4 pm checkout and the front desk made sure our keys would work as well as made sure we wouldn't be bothered by housekeeping (which has been a problem at other places when we had late check out) We were thoroughly impressed and really hard pressed to find anything to complain about. The price seemed fully justified by how much we enjoyed our stay!

Yelp
This is not a 5 star hotel. Terrible value. Staff is 1 Star at best. The room is just ok, but the bathroom counter was covered in stains and old toothpaste. Breakfast for 2 was $90 but the quality is like Denny's. Doorman helps you carry bags a few feet to the lobby and then demands a tip. I saw him later counting his huge wad of money from all the people he pressures to pay. They are good at collecting money. Not good at delivering 5 star service.

Yelp
I used to stay here on occasion when it was called The London. To simplify, I've highlighted the following: The Good: *Rooms are suite size offering you a separate living room from the bedroom. Each of good size given you're in the middle of Midtown. *Attractive to celebrities - not sure why but often would see autograph seekers corralled outside the front entrances. *Room furnishings have been recently refreshed. *Prime location walking distance the Theaters, Central Park, Columbus Circle, etc. The Needs Attention: *if you're using a credit card that provides free upgrades, don't doubt on any to actually be rewarded at check in. They always quickly brush through before answering "you're in a fine room" for whatever that means. My recent stay my 'upgrade' was a handicap accessible room which was far from anything I'd call an upgrade. *The TVs they feature need some attention. I like the Netflix offering but the linear system seems slow and not configured correctly. They also are just using the smartTV speakers which are not always the best for listening. I would have assumed their IT team would know that. Also two TVs where the remotes work on both so you can imagine how that works out... *The towels are not fluffy or bath at size. *No bells & whistles as you'd find at The Peninsula Hotel. This is basic nightstands with plugs. *Room service was quick. It the food was fair at best. Although the menu reads differently, they have only few items (eg same potatoes for every meal regardless of how the menu calls it) *Zero interaction with hotel staff other than the security checking for room keys which is welcomed. Otherwise none ever say hello or truly make you feel welcomed. I'd expect that at very least from door/bell staff but not even from front desk every time you walk by. Trust me, feeling welcomed at a property is pretty essential.

Yelp
Five star no - far from jt - it's very beat up, kinda oldish, five star it's not, but it's fine in midtown if you have to be in that area. The service is good room service is good and the parking is $95 per night. It's fine but it's not luxurious

Yelp
Worst experience in New York. Rude , unprofessional, they didn't honor American Express platinum members rewards upgrade. The hotel is depressing. Maybe the rooms are bigger then other places but who cares if staff is rude, incompetent, useless manager and depressing atmosphere. Lesson learned, not to experiment with random shit hotels but to stay in solid NY hotels where the management is professional and where they care about reputation of the hotel.

Yelp
Unauthorized charges to card. Spoke to manager to resolve. Said he would fix the issue, never did. I've been trying to get a hold of any management on-site for weeks now. It's always a dead end. "Mail box full" and like just hangs up. Fraudulent!

Yelp
We booked a one bedroom king suite for beginning of July 2023. Due to our gold Hilton status, we were upgraded three floors to the 22nd floor and given a "city view" room - which, in actuality, was a view of the sides of buildings. Was it an upgrade? Ehh, I guess that depends who you ask. From the instant we walked into the hotel lobby to check our bags before walking the city before our room was ready, there was a lack of direction, lack of greetings from the hotel staff, and overall lack of 5 star guest care. The room was well appointed with relatively modern furniture, good lighting, and two smart tvs; one in the living room, and one in the bedroom. The bathroom is quite large with a large waterfall shower. However, the bathroom also showed the room's age with black mold growing along the crevices of the shower, along with water mineralization. And a small thing but the speed at which our sink drained was extremely slow - it's not that hard to pour some draino down the sink every once in a while! Additionally, we noticed there was no seal on the bottom of the shower door, which after a ten minute shower, created heavy leakage, (I.e. water flooding the floor almost to the point of reaching the bedroom carpet). We had to use several of our towels to attempt to keep it dry, which was quite disappointing to see. Also on that point, most of our towels had holes in them! They looked raggedy and used. I'm not sure I've ever been to a hotel that gave guests towels with holes - not even motels, let alone 5 star hotels. Not a huge deal, but a noticeable inconvenience and lack of attention to detail. In terms of service, this is where the hotel really struck out for us. From the overall lack of attention to guests, to the lack of attention to detail that distinguishes a four star from a five star, these differences really stood out - not in a good way. For example, we noticed that each day when our room was serviced, the bed was not properly made, soaps/shampoos were not neatly organized, nor were extras left behind, trash wasn't emptied, vacuuming was clearly not done as there remained balls of lint on the floor throughout our stay, etc. Further, we used the Hilton messaging app multiple times, where there was one instance where requests we made were not answered, and another instance where it took 4 hours to receive an answer. Not good. Further, we noticed on our first day that there was still macaroni and cheese from a previous guest in our fridge. Nasty! It took us until the final night before we threw it away ourselves. And listen, in the grand scheme of things, these issues were no big deal - but when you're paying for a 5 star hotel in Midtown Manhattan, the little details make all the difference. Overall, the hotel was good. Good location and relatively well appointed rooms. However, the lack of attention to details in room service, to lack of attention/prioritization of guests, this hotel didn't wow us, as we were expecting from a five star hotel and lacked the luxury element. I think, based on our experience at this hotel, and from other hotels we've stayed in, this hotel is an ambitious four star, at its best. For our next trip to NYC, if we decide to stay in another luxury property, we'd likely look elsewhere.

Yelp
Hotel experience not to my standards. Not to mention this was first time I have been to a hotel where you had to pay for coffee. Feels very poor to me. Will not come back here.

Yelp
Really great hotel! Excellent service, top notch! Felt seen and appreciated. I was in room 2901 and it was perfect! I could see a glimpse of Central Park through the buildings. Nicole at the bar was so great, super helpful and nice! Oh, and the water pressure!!!! Wow! Loved my shower...had the rainfall shower head and it was amazing. I did see a friends room and sadly she didn't have that so I felt super lucky to get one! Thank you, Conrad Midtown!
