A New Resto-Bar Selling Absinthe and Art Opens on St-Hubert Plaza | Eater Montreal

"Neighboring gourmet grocery Conserva has teamed up with Chez Ernest to supply its food menu, providing small plates such as cod croquettes with gribiche, smoked mackerel mousse with crackers, porchetta in tonnato, salmon gravlax with beets and dill yogurt, and a build-your-own platter of dips, cheeses, pâtés and cured meats." - Valerie Silva

Google
If 3.5 stars was an option both me and my wife would give it that score. But honestly the meal was disappointing to us. We are a fan of Tapas restaurants when traveling it is something we look for. Overall the dishes were not great just good. With exception of the tortilla dish it was fabulous. The Hamburgursa Espanol would have been also but it was over cooked so it was dry. Service was good I think it is a cute restaurant. I wish I liked it better.

Google
Fantastic dining experience that took us right back to memories of eating amazing dishes in Spain. We applaud the chef for making a perfect tortilla - with onion! Highly recommend an evening here, with the warm atmosphere, wonderful staff, well curated wine list and every bite of food such a treat. We can’t wait to go back.

The first step you take in the restaurant is that you feel like you are in Europe. The host and the service was just fantastic, all the courses we had were delicious. We were a bit hesitant to have something from the tin fish men, and what a great surprise it was. I'm writing this review with a smile on my face, I hope I will have a chance to go back there again 🥂

Google
A.I. recommended this place and I'm glad it did. I would never have considered going to Ludlow otherwise. We enjoyed everything. Worth the drive, but I go a lot more if it were closer to the City.

Google
Food was incredible. The best authentic Spanish food you can find in NKY/Cincy area hands down. Couldn’t even take more pictures because we were too busy eating.

Google
Extremely authentic tapas and pintxos (Basque small bites) in a cozy (seriously, get reservations) space. There isn't a bad dish to be had. My favorites were the gambas and the jamón serrano. The tortilla and sausages were very close behind. Pro-tip: they have gluten free bread available to complement any dish on request. My only complaint is that the chairs are uncomfortable and even that's a mild one.

Google
An absolute gem!!! Found this place on a whim while in town for my nephew's band competition and I felt like I was transported back to Spain. Each dish was prepared with love and tasted phenomenal this is a place where you need to value quality over quantity because I was in a bar prior to dining here and they commented on when you leave you will want to go to X for after dinner snacks .....no I don't! I know what food food is! I left super happy and felt like it was one of the best meals I'd had in months. This is a true tapas restaurant. Order a dish or two and then see how you feel.....want more? Order more. This is how I love to eat multiple small plates so I can experience it all. The wine list is great, they even had a wonderful boutique vineyard that I had visited while I was in Spain two years ago in the Priorot region. Service was great without being overbearing. The owner made wonderful suggestions and pairings. I highly recommend this establishment to anyone in the area and if they wanted to expand their domain please come to the Charlotte, NC region as I would be a regular customer!!!!!!!

Google
Extremely friendly atmosphere, great selection of wines, and delicious food. Love to support my Spanish cuisine. Will definitely come back soon!

Yelp
I love a good tapas dinner experience, especially with a fun and unique assortment that I haven't seen elsewhere in this area. I typically am not drawn to chorizo, but I loved our dishes here. The Patatas a la Riojana was SO flavorful, warming, and comforting. We could have each had our own plate! The Sliders were a hit and the texture was great. The Conservas boards offered a tasty spread of accoutrements - we got the mackerel and smoked salmon. Highly recommend checking Conserva out for something different and delicious!!

Yelp
The restaurant was small with a nice ambiance. I enjoyed the food here and the waiters were friendly. I am disappointed as I ordered the scallops here and made it clear which scallops I wanted. The waitress pointed out that one of the scallops were out of stock but then corrected herself to say that the ones I was asking for were in stock and even pointed to them. When I received the bill (from another waitress) I was charged for the other ones which I did not ask for. I would have never asked for $50 canned scallops. When I enter a restaurant I don't go in ordering just anything, as I am conscious about the price and what I can afford. I tried to explain to the waitress that gave me the bill, that I had asked for the other scallops but was still charged for the ones I didn't ask for. I understand that there may have been a miscommunication among the waitresses as to what I ordered or as to which scallops were truly in stock. This certainly could have been very unintentional but I also left very unhappy and felt as if my money was being stolen from me. If you go to this restaurant and are careful about your spending, I just recommend that you make it extra clear with the waiters and waitresses what you are ordering.

Yelp
A group of us went there this evening and it was an amazing experience. Gianluca was our was our server and he was so helpful. He gave lots of suggestions and none of them disappointed! We tried a wide variety of items and everything was so tasty. We will definitely go back.

Yelp
We had a party of 6 attend the Paella event the beginning of September 2025. Food and Sangari were good. It was packed the night we went.

Mitch M.

Yelp
We went to the restaurant and was seated in an empty place right by the only other person in the place after I asked to be seated separate. I asked the waitress for wine suggestions and she didn't know and said she would ask and didn't come back. Don't waste your time as they did ours. We left after water

Yelp
What an unexpected gem of a restaurant in N KY!! Great variety of tapas & pinchos that were just delicious, unique & delivered to the table at just the right pace. Sangria was tasty & wine was affordable. The guitarist playing traditional Spanish songs rounded out a great evening of fun for our party of 6!
google avatar

Kate F.

Yelp
Let's start with what I liked about it- there was a guitar player and the addition of entertainment was lovely. The service was decent, the peach sangria delicious, and the ambiance quaint. Despite the above, I could not in good conscious rate this restaurant any higher. Because I would not go back there nor would I recommend a friend to. The food was just plain weird and very expensive. I've traveled many places in this world and tried many foods. I love most food types! When I say weird, it's not because it's different, it's because it's just ... both not good and really unusual combinations. The prices are high too paired with the fact that I think much of the ingredients were canned goods (literally the fish is canned, but I also suspect that for example, our peppers stuffed with cheese came out of a can and the fig topped on our goat cheese bruschetta also out of a can).

Yelp
Attended recently and went in with very few expectations. I absolutely blown away. Incredible food, great atmosphere, nice options, and great service. The restaurant is Spanish themed and has some of the tastiest foods that I didn't even know existed. I definitely recommend the iberico ham (palleta iberico de Bellota), Serrano ham (Jamon Serrano y manchego), and anything with pickled green beans. They also have cocktails, wine and more to drink. It's a really cute place for food and drinks.

Leighann R.

Yelp
It was delicious!!! Such a unique experience! Make sure you have a reservation though as it is quite small.

Yelp
This is a new hidden gem in Ludlow that everyone should be running, not walking to this tapas spot. My husband and I are residents of Ludlow, and have been looking forward to Conserva opening for some time. Lauren, the owner, is one of the sweetest people ever and passionate about wine and food. We couldn't help ourselves here, we wanted to try everything on the menu, and will definitely be back. As someone who has never liked olives, the olive dishes here are out of this world, and everything is packed with so much delicious flavor. The wine pairings to go with everything is like the little cherry on top--magnificent! My husband even remarked that the tapas here were much better than most of the top as he had in Spain. We will be regulars here, and I hope that everyone discovers this little slice of paradise.

Jack M.

Yelp
We got two tapas (they were okay at best) and two drinks. Ended up costing $60 including tip.

Yelp
Excellent food. If you've been to Spain this will not disappoint. Everything is to share, think like the side dishes at a Korean restaurant. Back side of the menu is pricier bit much more substantial, the fish is tinned but probably some of the best i've ever had. Live flamenco (sólo toque, que cante sería demasiado molesto) If i could give six stars I would.

Yelp
Obsessed with this place. I went during the soft open and was beyond impressed. Everything is inspired by traditional Spanish tapas bar. The space is small but doesn't feel crowded and is accented in mosaics and artwork that brighten up the space. The owners, Challis and Lauren did everything from serving to bartending to cooking. My friend and I were the last two people to leave and spend over an hour just talking to them, they were so personable and kind, and shared their passion of their community with us. It was evident in everything they did and the food was impeccable. This is a perfect summer spot to relax and connect with friends and strangers while enjoying refreshing drinks and savory bites.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner with girlfriends at Conserva. The service was amazing and the owners are passionate. Everything was delicious, wine and food, and it's an excellent addition to downtown Ludlow.

Yelp
Love Conserva! This was our second time at Conserva and everything was delicious! My favorite was the Pimientos del Piquillo. The service was great, gave us time to look over the menu and answered any questions we had. Live music playing during our dinner which really brought the theme of the restaurant together!

Pam W.

Yelp
We had a hard time deciding what to order! So many delicious options! Everything we ordered was delicious! Reminded us of our trips to Spain. We will go back to Conserva with friends!

Yelp
I am so lucky to have Conserva a few short blocks away. They have outside tables when the weather is nice, and it is so enjoyable to sit with a drink. The inside feels warm, inviting, friendly, and happy, like a place you want to be. The food is fantastic, I've seriously loved everything I have tried. My current favorites are the garlic shrimp, and the gigiante beans tapas, you have to try them. They also have the occasional off-menu special, which always looks good. The cocktails are top-notch and the sangria is a must try. My dad is not a huge wine or cocktail guy, but loved it. I highly recommend Conserva if you just want to chill out alone at the bar or outside, or have friends and family to bring and want to share a bunch of plates.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! The owners are amazing and knowledgeable- great service and amazing food- do yourself a favor and get the white beans- Guiso De Butifarra Y Alubias Blancas- and get an order to go! Sincerely a delight and made for a wonderful date night.
google avatar

Judy C.

Yelp
The food and wine were delicious! The owner provided detailed information about the menu and helped us select a variety of plates that kept everyone in our group happy. Everyone loved the tortilla Española and the Gambas al Ajillo (garlicky shrimp). The space is cozy, and it was fun to guess which Spanish artists' portraits adorned the walls!

Yelp
Date night with the BF, and we decided to try out a new place that offers gluten free breadsticks (for me). Definitely a MUST try.

Yelp
What a find! A great little tapas restaurant in the cute town of Ludlow, KY. EXCELLENT food in a delightful atmosphere. There is also a fantastic specialty food shop next-door, owned by the same people. We will be back!

Yelp
We had terrible service. We ordered our food and a bottle of wine and it took over an hour and a half to get any food. The kitchen was out partying with some patrons and apparently didn't cook anything. It was soooo bad and we never get upset about stuff like this. We finished our wine before any food came out. The worst part is that the waitress didn't communicate any issues with us, she just pretended that nothing happened! Such a bad experience. We won't be back! Bummer because the food was good but they just don't know how to run a restaurant.

Yelp
On pointe service, ambiance, small plates and wine. BTW-their Old Fashion with mole bitters may make you cry it's so exceptional. We met friends for dinner and stayed two hours. We'll be back soon. We want to try everything on their menu! Live music added to the cozy atmosphere. Reservations recommended!

Yelp
Take a trip to Spain In Ludlow, I'm predicting this burg is the next hot area. Great time tonight, owners are great, food was divine.

John M.

Yelp
My wife and I have dined at Conserva several times now. Last night was their inaugural Tapas 101 night, a five course tapas menu paired with Spanish wines, sherry and a Basque cider. While Challis cooked and spoke on the meaning and culture of tapas food, Dillon assisted him as a sommelier, enthusiastically speaking to the terrior and provenance of Spanish wines, a fino sherry, and a Basque cider. The tapas selected and cooked by Challis were delicious. Even a several page guide with a map of Spain was at each table for our use - we took ours home and will archive it. It seems this may be but the first in a tapas series, and I encourage anyone not familiar with it the cuisine, or even if you are, to come to Ludlow and enjoy the ambiance and care Challis, Lauren and Dillon have put into such an evening. This is not just a restaurant in Ludlow, but part of a budding nucleus of a community of like-minded people enjoying a cuisine and atmosphere conducive to conversation and joie de vivre, or as the Spanish might say, "alegría de la vida?" You can not find more passionate hosts that Lauren and Challis. Their friend, wine sommelier Dillon, radiates an infectious enthusiasm expressing his comprehensive wine knowledge. Cheers to all who read this!

Joesph H.

Yelp
Very cute little tapas restaurant nice little location I would recommend if you like tapas.

Yelp
A hidden gem in historic Ludlow, Conserva has a unique and warm ambiance with delectable tapas bites and great wine selection. As a Ludlow resident, I am so proud to have Conserva as part of my community. The owners put their hearts into this work- and it becomes apparent when you dine with them. I will absolutely continue to go back!
