Conshohocken Italian Bakery

A Conshocken gem. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. I have ordered pizza’s for celebrations, high school and college sporting events, and work events. Call the day before. Their design stencils are a hit. Love the fact that generation of family are working there. Yesterday’s 3 sheets of pizza were gone in no time.

The Conshy stalwart busting out some of the best rolls and breads in the Greater Philadelphia Area. Famous for their bread products mostly sold to other resturants and such. They do however have a small storefront serving locals for grab and go use. These folks made the 2021 Food & Wine's list for the Best Pizza by state for Pennsylvania. The Classic Tomato Pie is what landed that shout out. See the attached pics. If you're local....you know. If you're not savvy to the thrilling delight of the Philly Area's Tomato Pie grab yourself a 1/4 sheet tear off a square and taste what you've been missing. Have napkins handy and avoid wearing a white shirt. The sauce may do you dirty. This bakery also features a selection of bakery/ Pastry classics like Elclairs, Raspberry Almond Boats & Cream Puffs.

When we moved to PA, we decided to try all the local traditional foods. Couldn't understand or get behind the tomato pie thing until trying this one. They carry it at a local market by me. I actually could do this over traditional pizza any day!

I had the opportunity to try this delicious tomato pie while at an event. I’m a huge fan! The freshness and flavor are amazing!

This is the best bakery around, my family and I are so sad they are closing. The family who runs it have been family friends all our life, we are going to miss getting sandwiches on these rolls. Local restaurants will never be able to get anything close to this recipe. Good luck to the Gambone family, God bless everyone.

I crossed half town to get here, but the entrance looked so poor and dirty I just turned around and went home. And their sign looks like it remembers the times of FDR's presidency. This is not how you do business.

We go once a week at minimum to get fresh bread or tomato pie. Everyone who works there shows great kindness to my children. The baked goods are so reasonably priced especially for the quality. This is a neighborhood gem.

By far the most delicious tomato pie I’ve tasted in the 6 years living in Pennsylvania! So good, my mouth is watering just thinking about the sweetness of sauce and the dough is unbelievable!! 100% a fan of this bakery and the bread 🥖 rolls are amazing & the round loaves too!! Love all the carbs they bake🥰

Gosh, this place is going to be so missed! Owners retired on 10/27/24 and my favorite cheesesteak joints will never be the same! Had a different roll recently and the taste was like night and day. Going to have to train my tastebuds to accept the new normal because nothing comes close to a Conshy Bakery roll! Enjoy your retirement! Thanks for your half century of service to our community!!

Italian Bakery Tour - Conshohocken Italian Bakery I've been baking for the last 3 years, since COVID began, and while I've had some successes, I haven't yet mastered two native Philadelphian baked goods - Hoagie (or "sub" or "grinder") Rolls and Tomato Pie, an Italian-American/Philly take on Sicily's Sfincione Palermitano. So, one day in April 2023, I partnered with my Yelp buddy, Gerald S., to traverse the Greater Philadelphia area, visiting five well-known and respected Italian bakeries, sampling those two things. I wanted to understand the nature of those breads, to understand their common traits - size and weight, density, crumb size; and, in the case of Tomato Pie, the sweet/acid/spice taste of its sauce. Of course, none of the bakeries that I visited would share their recipes, but I hoped to return to San Diego with a good idea of how to fiddle with recipes I have on hand, to make hoagie rolls and tomato pie similar to those I ate in Philly. CONSHOHOCKEN ITALIAN BAKERY I'm not ashamed to admit that before I began my "tour," I was a bit intimidated by the prospect of interacting with busy counterpeople at a number of bakeries in Philadelphia, especially since I'd have to ask questions in order to gather information that would be useful to my project, engaging with folks whose reputation for brusqueness worried me that they might be bothered, or worse, suspicious of someone wondering out loud how their products are made. In the event, I'm happy to note, I shouldn't have worried. Except for a couple of people I met at Corropolese Italian Bakery & Deli in Norristown, the bakers and clerks I met were helpful, and generous with their time and attention. And then there was Diane, the lady answering the phones at Conshohocken Italian Bakery. She was all those things, and she was amusing as hell. A few weeks before my trip to ensure that all the places on my list sold hoagie rolls and tomato pie. Everywhere else, I got a quick and useful "yes," sometimes bundled with clarifying questions. When Diane answered the phone, she said, "Hang on a sec," laid the phone down, and went back to helping the man in front of her, while I listened to their conversation. He was a father accompanied by his son, and, it being a few days before Easter, they were picking up sweets for the holiday. He wasn't sure what he wanted, and Diane guided him, in the way that a border collie guides sheep, with a little push here and a nip at the ankles there. That conversation might have been terse, but she kidded the guy as she figured out his order. Plus, the little boy had questions about the cookies and other sweets in front of him, and Diane could not have been sweeter to the kid if he'd been her own grandson. Honest to God, even if she'd said that Conshohocken Italian Bakery didn't have what I needed, I'd have dropped in when I got to town, just to meet Diane. Hoagie Rolls More than any other hoagie roll I sampled from the five bakeries on my "tour," Conshohocken Italian Bakery's resembled my two favorite such forms of bread: bahn mi, and especially, New Orleans-style French bread. Conshohocken Italian Bakery's hoagie roll had those breads' super-crisp crust, and it was soft, light and airy inside. Its flavor was marvelous, inside and out; slightly sweet and a bit fermented. And thanks to well-developed gluten, the roll was solid and chewy, and I'm sure that it would withstand drippy sandwich fillings and never lose its "hinge." The Numbers: The roll was 11.5" long, 8" in circumference and weighed ~135g. A 4" midsection weighed ~56g. I estimate the density of the baked rolls at 0.16775 g/cm3. [NOTE: A couple of nights after I visited the bakery, I had an excellent Italian dinner down the street at Trattoria Totaro. The table bread was a fantastic, crusty, aromatic Italian loaf. I wasn't surprised to learn that it came from Conshohocken Italian Bakery, but, realizing that the restaurant's owners could literally walk down the street for such high-quality baked goods, I was a little jealous.] Tomato Pie I've previously mentioned that I'm not an enthusiastic fan of tomato pie. I don't dislike it, but I have some difficulty distinguishing it from the bread I dip into my tomato sauce as it bubbles on the stove, to test for saltiness. That said, Conshohocken Italian Bakery's tomato pie was tasty. Originally a small river town on the Schuylkill River north of Philly, Conshohocken shifted from quaint to bustling suburb in the middle/late 20th Century as waves of city dwellers with a little money in their pockets sought a better family life by moving in all directions out of the urban core. This included the ethnic enclaves that had called the neighborhoods of the City of Brotherly Love their homes for more than a hundred years. Many remained on the old narrow streets, but younger generations wanting more space to grow, heard the call and moved outside the city's grasp, even if the older generations stayed put. Conshohocken Italian Bakery began in 1973, many decades after the founding of the inner city bakers like Sarcone's and Casia's. Their plant on Jones Street has expanded several times, but the recipes and authenticity of their products has never changed. Yelp Bro, Omar S. and I visited this landmark dough merchant as part of his exploration of Italian hoagie rolls and tomato pie, for his search for the Holy Grail - the apex methodology for baking the best at home rolls and TP in his San Diego kitchen. The factory was way more modern than the others in the city, but the center of the operation was the woman behind the counter accepting orders from walk in customers, and more so from telephone orders. This bakery does not accept orders any other way, so "Diane" was the key to the whole magilla. She was a mistress of ceremonies, with a light comedic touch and genuine love of the customer and business. Omar was really taken with their interaction. And, why not? She was the gatekeeper to some of the best Italian bread and accessories in the region. Turned out, their rolls had about a wonderful crispy crust and light textured innards. Just enough sugar to allow the sandwich/hoagie rolls to be delicious naked, or with shmear of butter. Only Sarcone's was its equal. Although Tomato Pies are a Philly Thing, and really not my favorite, Conshy Bakery had a damn good variant with a light sweet and garlic flavor in their sauce. As my family would say:"I could eat it...!" All their loaves looked and smelled great in the racks. Conshy Bakery was the biggest surprise of our five shop tour. Definitely deserves a visit when in the mood for awesome Italian rolls made with flour, salt, water, yeast, whey, cornstarch, soy/cottonseed oil, wheat flour Daren and dextrose arises. Yes, Sir! PS. They also have a large tray of Stock's Pound Cakes for your sweet tooth. Stocks is yet another famous Philly institution that produces the best heavenly moist pound cakes in the universe. That lemon iced brick is stupendous.

1 star is for the grumpy lady at the billing. Being rude once probably might be acceptable, but when I went again today (08/07/2024), a couple shopping there were already facing her unprofessional attitude. Who would sit at the front desk with this kind of attitude? I asked what would she recommend in their shop, and there came the lamest response - 'I don't eat sugar so I can't recommend anything personally'. Is your whole intention to ruin the shop's reputation and close it permanently? The audacity to talk to every customer in an unruly way requires a good therapist/professional help. Not visiting this again.

My family is OBSESSED with this bakery. We stop by about every three weeks, buy a dozen hoagie rolls, eat the most delicious sandwiches for a day or two and then freeze the rest for fresh bread throughout the weeks. We basically stopped buying sandwich bread because of our visits and our meals are so much tastier! Conshy Italian Bakery is affordable, delicious, and it feels great to know we're supporting a long standing local business! We've also tried their burger buns and tomato pie, both delicious (the hoagie rolls have really won our hearts though). Contrary to some older reviews on Google and elsewhere, they do now take credit cards! The staff is also very helpful and always super quick. We know even if there's a bit of a line, we'll be in and out fast so we can always drop in our way home and grab our beloved bread.

I fought with myself to give this review a one star or two stars. The sauce on tomato pie was good but it was doughy and tasted like it sat a few days. I bought 4 Sfogliatella pastries and they were not crunchy and we're definitely old. The cannoli was tasteless. The baguette I bought was hallow feeling and not worth the money. I took a special trip to the bakery because I remembered the tomato pie was amazing many moons ago. It was a waste of gas and money. The one worker told me that the pastries are frozen and brought in from somewhere. So if you don't want par-baked pastries then skip them altogether. I also didn't like the way the one woman at the counter made inappropriate religious jokes and was rude to customers... the Philly attitude, I'm right, you're not. Im definitely never giving them another penny of money. Don't waste your time .

Best rolls and bread around for sandwiches and such!!! Used for a recent party and everyone loved my wife's homemade from scratch meatballs and Conshy rolls of course!!! The roll can make or break a sandwich!!! Sandwiches were awesome!!!

I luv this place but a little dissapointed this morning. I usually stop by on Sundays before visiting my mom in Conshy to pick up some fresh cannolis as she really enjoys them. Today's cannolis were not fresh, the shells were soft / moist and no crunch to them - just not the same if there not fresh, not sure if they were left over from yesterday or not?

This could be my favorite Tomato pie and I'll always purchase more than I need, to save some for another day. It's weird though, because growing up in the area, most people I knew from Conshohocken preferred another place that I just don't like... Actually, I'm a liar... The one person I know from Conshohocken that likes it, doesn't even live in Conshohocken, so he doesn't count. I actually stopped going to parties from anyone who has ever lived in Conshohocken, because I know they aren't having Conshohocken Italian Bakery tomato pie at their house. Enough about the stupid people I call "friends", it is a decent tomato pie and when we have it at a party, those horrible Conshohocken people I know eat it. Everyone eats it. It's tomato pie, that's what people do. I'll eat the other tomato pies I don't like either. My biggest issue with this bakery is that everything tastes the same. The rolls are good, but have you ever had their bagel? It tastes exactly like the roll, but it has a hole in the middle. Really? If I'm having a party and I need rolls, I'm calling this place up and they'll have my order ready for me to pick it up first thing in the morning. I'll be there a little after 7 am and grab my brown paper bag filled with rolls and a whole pie. One roll goes directly into my mouth as I drive home, thinking about the long day of setting up I have until my wife wakes up at 11:00 am.

You don't want to miss this place. We drive 40 minutes whenever we're having a party just to get their rolls. Seriously, they are incredible. So soft, flavorful, a good size and great price. Next is the tomato pie. Oh my word. This thing is hands down a show stopper. It has a thick crust with their homemade tomato sauce on top with sprinkled Parmesan. It made sound ordinary but this thing will change your world. I've only ever had their cranberry loaf as far as baked goods and that was delicious. I can only imagine how good their other desserts are. Worth the drive every time.

I dont get to Conshohocken often but when I do, I have to stop here. This place is a lot like the Italian bakeries I grew up with in RI. The tomato pie is really good. It's a little sweeter than our bakery pizza but it still takes me back. The breads / rolls are beautiful, the sweets are tasty, and the various specialty products like pasta are helpful. I'd love to have a place like this nearby. I hope all the locals appreciate what they have.

If I could give this place -2 stars I would. I'm guessing all of you who have given this place 4 and 5 stars have never been to a bakery 10 miles from your house. The first thing I noticed walking in was the dirty look I received from the girl behind the counter and some lady to the left of her. Forget having a display of bakery goods in a big glass case. There were a line of maybe 10 cannoli's in a row. Some sort of lemon cookie at 2.00 each the size of a quarter. Next to me was a stack of tomato pie that didn't have a price on it. When I asked how much was the tomato pie and cannoli's were the woman gave me another dirty look and said " the price is on it" I said no it isn't and placed it on the counter. I ordered a tomato pie and 2 small cannoli's and the bill was 9.75. When I brought it home both items were horrible. The tomato pie tasted like old pizza crust with uncooked tomato paste on top. The first clue I should have seen was the bare bones display case and her pissed poor attitude. Save yourself the time and money and go somewhere else.

It's just ok. Not much of a selection compared to other Italian bakeries I've been to. Very basic. I guess it's good enough to serve the needs of this small town.

Conshy Bakery does it again! Their tomato pies are always my go-to party trick. If you call 3 days in advance, you can get a design of your choice sprinkled in parmesean cheese on top! Super affordable, personable and delicious :) Here's my most recent order for a work potluck.

This is for staff only. I love their rolls so i go often. The women working here are all miserable. They all seem pissed off that you are bothering them. Another point, take your sign for zep rolls down. Any time i ask for zep rolls i get serious attitude. They say they have to check, go in back and then come back and say they don't have any. Just take sign down please.

Tucked away from the main downtown, this bakery is mostly delicious breads. However, they make some great cannoli and have this rainbow italian cookie that I've been on the search for since coming to the NYC/NJ/PHL area. The only thing I might pass on is the creme puffs. They are good, but it doesn't stack up to other creme puff only bakeries in the area.

The reason why anyone likes this place is beyond me. The staff is awful and rude. There was one person ordering and they sat there and talked for 10 minutes completely ignoring the fact that I was in line. I asked about a particular item, and she pulled it out of the fridge. It was apparently old then I was scolded about how they don't have that item on Sundays. How am I supposed to know? I am not a regular nor will ever be now based on this experience. Paid full price for old bread and a terrible customer service experience.

10 Stars!!! Even though we live about 30 minutes away someone recommended this place for rolls for my sons boot camp graduation. We decided to order two of their tomato pies with the Eagle ,Globe and Anchor and USMC on it. After hearing it was for our Marine they said they would like to donate one of the pies for his service. This gesture speaks volumes of this business. I'll gladly make the drive anytime to support these guys and will recommend them to everyone I know! Times like these it's touching to see small companies willing to show their appreciation to those who serve and protect our freedoms. Semper Fi!!

A local staple- it is one of the most charming landmarks in town! Friendly but all business and fast- I like it. It's so nice to go right down the street and have fresh bread- such a rarity anymore :( especially if you aren't in the city of Europe. It has old world charm. I'd recommend for a roll and their pizza any day (the pepper is amazing). Also, they are quick to respond on social media and have a great instagram - they're surveying the town about what color roof they should get! It's adorable. They care about Conshohocken and are so vested in the community - they've kept up with technology / innovation / some expansion but focus on their unique charm and care about customers. Definitely my favorite spot to pick up a " snack " around town.

Just went here once. Bought two different types pastries and a tomato pie. The pastries tasted stale and the cannoli were not crisp or fresh tasting. We threw out all of them after a few bites because we didn't want to waste our calories. We cut the tomato pie at home to discover it was very very raw. From bottom to top. We cooked it some in the oven and was still partially raw. It ended up barely being eaten and then thrown out. The store did have a nice selection of other breads, pasta (dry and frozen) and Italian goods. Perhaps those are better so I will give two stars.

Conshohocken Italian Bakery (CIB, or IDGB (It don't get better)) delivers the par excellence of hoagie rolls in the burbs, and quite possibly in the tri-state area. Most of the local mom & pop hoagie shops get their rolls from IDGB, and this is the main reason why these local hoagies consistently beat the very best that Philly has to offer. They have a small retail window to pick up tomato pie, eclairs, bread, etc., but this is THE go to spot in the burbs when you need two dozen rolls to go with an order of roast pork, meatballs, or home made hoagies. The crust is chewy, almost leather, but the inside is soft and white. You will need that chewy crust to hold up to the roast pork juice, meatball sauce, or copious olive oil from your hoagies...something that mass produced rolls don't have, reducing them to gooey messes that look like a kindergarten bread art project. You'll need to place your order ahead of time...don't show up like Jed Clampet with a straw hat and overalls asking for "dem good rolls y'all got." Fortune, and good rolls, favor the prepared.

All I've ever gotten from here is tomato pie. I would never buy it anywhere else. Wish I could say more. If you need a tomato pie, heres the place to get it. Have I mentioned at all how good the tomato pie is? I have a party coming up this weekend and I need a tomato pie. Anyone have any ideas?

After a night of light drinking at Bobby's this place cannot be beat! I was out with a friend who demanded that I eat a piece of their tomato pie. The gentlemen wrapped up a piece to go, but when he overheard me mention that I had never had tomato pie before (anywhere, not just here) he pulled out a fresh warm slice, threw some oil on it and gave it to me, telling me that I *must* have a slice, right there! Let me tell you, that slice wasn't a slice of tomato pie... that was a slice of heaven! The crust was a bit doughy on top with a slight crisp on the bottom, and the sauce was sweet and tomato-y and the parm was fresh and... don't take my word for it, you have to try a slice!!

My mom's side of the family (100% Italian) has been going to this bakery for generations. My grandpop always got their rolls and occasionally their tomato pie or pizza-type products. This location is really tiny, but this bakery does distribute to different places in the area. This isn't my favorite tomato pie, my favorite is in deep South Philly, but since I live in Mt. Airy, this works if I'm really having a craving and am not up for a hike downtown. And make sure to try some pastries. I'm not sure if they make the pastries there, but the horns and canollis are fabulous.

The best bread in the history of bread. Whenever my parents would pick up keiser rolls for dinner, I'd end up eating 2 or 3 of them before dinner was even on the stove. Slather those bad boys with some butter and you're in carb heaven! Same goes for any of their other breads. The crust on their rolls and breads is crisp but not super hard where you can't bite through it and it scrapes up your mouth, and the inside is fluffy and flavorful and just downright delicious. I'm not crazy about their tomato pie, but a lot of people I know love it. It's a tangier saltier more tomatoey tasting sauce. I like the sweeter sauce like at Corropolese. They also sell baked goods and cannolis, which I've never tried because my mouth is always stuffed with rolls when I leave there.

I've known for some time that the Philly area is known for good bread. Now, I get to see first-hand one of the reasons why. This is as simple and perfect as you can get: an EXTREMELY basic storefront (you're really going to have to google map the place out to find it), you walk inside and again, EXTREMELY basic inside, just a basic sign with the types of bread and other things sold. I can only say I've tried a cople of breads so far (crusty long loaf and hoagie rolls), but they're the perfect, fresh, soft texture inside and the perfect amount of crustiness on the outside. And, unlike what you get at supermarkets (which I'm used to), the bread is cheap! A "small" hoagie roll, which is about 8-9 inches long, sells for $3 and change PER DOZEN (you can buy as few as 1). A crusty long loaf was a bit over $1. Wonderful place, I can't wait to try more. As long as I'm in the area, I'm not getting bread from anywhere else :) One thing to note: no CC's accepted. I don't know if they take check.

Just found this small out of the way bakery, boy I have been missing out on some excellent bread and baked goods. Purchased a very tasty round bread and some sesame rolls, great taste and tender crumb inside. I tried the tomato pie and several topping pies each one was excellent. The prices are very reasonable for the quality you get. Will stop in every time I am in Conshohocken.

Picked up bagels here this weekend. They're not typical, dense bagels, but they're light and fluffy, almost like a roll. On the first day, they were so good I ate one without even cutting it open. No toasting or cream cheese needed. On the second day, a few minutes in the toaster and a slather of cream cheese made for an excellent breakfast. We also got a couple of mini-cannolis, which were delicious. Looking forward to trying more goodies here!

For those old enough to remember, the breads & rolls from Conshohocken Italian Bakery are the closest in texture & quality to the dear departed Consolo's Bakery in Manayunk. Fantastic breads made with simple, high quality ingredients. Hard and crusty outside, dense inside (not airy or gummy). THIS is the way good bread should be. And you just can't beat the freshness... walk over to the racks and pick your own. Often they are still warm. You'll be amazed at the low prices too. When we have people over for dinner, and we're cooking Italian, we always run over to Conshohocken Bakery to make the meal complete. Don't miss the tomato pie either. Simply the best in the area. Yes, parking can be a pain, especially on Saturday & Sunday mornings, but I actually think of it as part of the old-world charm. Also, bring cash, no credit/debit accepted. If you live in the northwest section of the city (Chestnut Hill, Mt. Airy East Falls, Roxborough & Manayunk), or in the surrounding suburbs of Conshohocken, you must try this bakery if you want legit bread.

The best steak rolls that I know of in the greater Philadelphia area. The other bakery items visible around the retail window look terrific but I have so far resisted their sweet temptations, ..... darn it all.

Yeah, I love a sandwich on Sarcone's and Carangi's. But places that use them are few and far between. The reason a zep or roast pork in Norristown and local suburbs can outshine a Philly version is Conshy Bakery. A shiny glazed crust with a just-dense-enough, just chewy-enough inside means the roll compliments but does not overshadow the ingredients. When you eat a Sarcones's or Carangi based sammy, you forget about the insides. Conshy knows how to be "best supporting actor" in the sandwich biz. I hope one day they make Shad STICKS the way the old Shad's pizza/steak shop used before they burned (were burned) to the ground. They have the perfect beginnings with their crust and texture.

I was lucky enough to be invited to the Saint Josephs Blessing of the Bread this morning at the Bakery by Anna .It was amazing all the different breads shapes,The priest was there he talked about Saint Joseph Blessed the bread and then we ate Italian style.Sausage,bragoli,chicken the best pasta,cheese, peppers soupersot home made,out of this world.But best of all the people gathered together so friendly I wished i was Italian.I cant wait till next year .Thanks so much to all of Annas family and friends making me welcomed. Worst rolls I've ever had. So inconsistent with roll size. One roll will be six inches and the next will be 12. If someone orders rolls they should all be close to the same size not that big a difference. Lazy bakers to me.

Closest rolls to those from sarcone's in the suburbs. They have a great crust but are perfectly soft inside. The tomato pies are decent but nt t best in the area. But in all honesty,you just come here for the rolls..

Best rolls in the suburbs, hands down. Really solid tomato pie and a good but small selection of sweets. You're probably here for the bread though. Big order? holiday weekend? Order in advance. The pickins can get slim pretty fast. We recently used the Conshy Bakery for our housewarming party (recently moved back to my hometown!) We got a full size tomato pie, and several dozen rolls for meatball sandwiches and hoagies. They make the perfect sandwich bread. As others have noted, the crust stands up to any kind of juice or sauce, and the inside is soft and delicious. Prices are very reasonable too. If you live in the area, there is no reason to get your bread anywhere else.

Bread, Rolls, Pies...this is where to get your "bread" the tomato pie is very good, I prefer corropolese, but still very good. They have the best hoagie and Keizer rolls for making that perfect sandwich. The loafs of bread are great too. I love the pound cake. If you come on a day they have donuts - you must try them! The Pepperoni bread is really good as well. This place is bread heaven- you must go here to get ur rolls/breads.

This almost passable shop in Conshohocken is a bit off the beaten path, but WELL worth it. When I was a child my parents drove from Phoenixville to this bakery regularly in search of their fresh and delicious baked breads. Years spent enjoying their rolls and loaves at family dinners went by until I finally drove there myself and tried their tomato pie. DELISH. It's nice to know that this wonderful, albeit quaint, bakery exists somewhere outside of the city. Where I live in South Philly is no stranger to having quality bakeries, so to have a safe haven for my specific bread and pastry needs (or desires!) in this unlikeliest of neighborhoods is certainly welcome!

Conshohocken Bakery easily has the best sandwich rolls anywhere. That bread can be found in some of the best sandwich shops around and the rolls can make or break the whole experience (don't believe me - try eating a great sandwich with a stale or tasteless roll of bread - ah ha see!). The great thing about the bakery is you go there, pick your baked goods right off the rack and bite into the hot/warm freshness.

Just went for the first time. Place smells wonderful. The bread and rolls were amazing, and the prices are comparable.

Tomato pie is a Philadelphia area phenomenon. You won't find it anywhere else and lifelong Philadelphians think this is weird. Welp if you're doing a tour of the area's tomato pies you'll have to include Conshohocken Italian Bakery's. 18"x24" for $15. Call and they'll have it ready in less than 10 minutes. Great for a party and they tweet often!

Obsessed with the tomato pie. It was even amazing when I reheated frozen leftovers in the oven. This is going to be a staple in my life.
