The 22 Best Restaurants In Cape Town 2024

"Stellenbosch and Franschhoek may be the undisputed champions of Cape Town’s surrounding wine country, but some of the best wine actually comes from Constantia, a small, green valley just 20 minutes from the city. All of that makes this spot the perfect entry point for trying world-renowned wines like Van Wyk Riesling, Constantia Saddle Rosé, and Constantia Glen Sauvignon Blanc while snacking on an overflowing charcuterie platter. What an amazing experience, we did their flagship tasting and the wines were amazing, our waiter Joshua was very friendly and informative. The food was out of this world. Very beautiful location.

Beautiful wine farm. Small but good menu. Variety of wines you taste. Gorgeous restaurant spaces. Will definitely return.

I don’t know why these reviews are 4/5 because that’s not what this place deserves. From the tranquility, to the excellent service and the fantastic wine selection, this place is nothing short of great! Marita is an excellent waitress and deserves recognition for her friendliness, hospitality and knowledge.

Amazing place all around. Unlike their unfriendly smaller neighbours who were so up themselves - overlooking' this wonderful place. Such good explanations at the table when we had some tasting wines with lunch. Such good explanations and a great waitress who was a highly intelligent charming and just made up and super surpassed the previous place we had just walked away from. Lovely Chenin Blanc blend with Sauvignon Blanc, 50/50 or maybe 60/40, and all grown on the amazing estate.

Always a lovely experience visiting. Weekends it is strongly recommended to make a booking well in advance. Wines are great, Number 2 and Number 5 are the best (in my opinion) white and red respectively. If you want brunch / late brekkie, the Winemakers Flammkuchen is a treat.

Beautiful restaurant in the Constantia valley wine route - stunning views! Wine never disappoints.. the burger was Smokey and delicious and the fish was melt in your mouth soft.. the menu is quite limited and super expensive. The affogato was yummy but the crème brûlée was overcooked and had scrambled egg texture. Overall a lovely place for lunch.

Constantia Glen was such a beautiful place and experience. My boyfriend and I did a wine tasting and we were pleased to have Marita as our waitress. She was very knowledgeable about the wines, along with being personable. She truly made our time there even more amazing!

I had high expectations for Constantia Glen, but unfortunately, the experience fell short due to the staff’s less-than-accommodating and almost exclusionary attitude. From the moment we arrived, it felt as though we were more of an inconvenience than welcomed guests, which was disappointing given the reputation of the estate. That being said, Tia truly saved the day with her warm and attentive service. She was the only staff member who made an effort to make us feel comfortable, and her kindness didn’t go unnoticed. If not for her, our visit would have been entirely forgettable. For a venue of this caliber, operational excellence should be a priority, ensuring that service remains seamless even when the estate is at capacity. A stunning location alone isn’t enough—consistent, high-quality hospitality is what turns a beautiful setting into a truly exceptional experience. I hope management takes note, as there is great potential here, but the overall experience left a lot to be desired. This keeps it professional while making a strong point about the need for better operations. Let me know if you’d like any final tweaks!
