Very friendly staff - took the time to explain the menu which we really appreciated. Good service as well, changing plates after every meal. The food was very fresh, tasty and unique. Would recommend you to try the fish, very soft and extremely crispy skin.

I had a wonderful experience at ConTenador! As I was eating alone, they placed me opposite the kitchen so I could watch the hustle and bustle. I ordered the leek starter, which was decent, but the swordfish and mushroom main was really great. The sauce was equally garlicky, salty, and sweet. It was wonderful. The staff were also very attentive, nothing was an issue (I don’t usually like sardines so they put them on the side so I could enjoy them if I wished, they were actually delicious). Also feels notable to mention, it looked like majority women in the kitchen which feels very rare in a male dominated industry, it was great to see. And the overall atmosphere between the chefs seemed great too, it’s nice to see a team that gets on well (working in hospitality previously that also feels rare!). Overall lovely experience. Also some great vegan options.

As a tourist in Seville, dining at conTenedor was a revelation. The ambiance, adorned with eclectic decor, set the stage for an unforgettable experience. The menu, rich with locally sourced ingredients, offered dishes like the exquisite duck confit with crispy rice. The attentive staff's detailed explanations enhanced our culinary journey. A must-visit for any food enthusiast!

What a won’t restaurant, our meal was once, service excellent. The food was simple yet inventive and incredibly flavorful. We spent two hours for a late lunch, highly recommended!

Google
Good place for vegetarians! They had several vegetarian salad appetizers and a cheese plate, as well as many entree options that were vegetarian or could be modified to be vegetarian. Very friendly service and the place itself is kitschy and cute. Staff speaks English which is a plus! Loved the wok veggies and apple cheesecake with pistachio ice cream. Would recommend but you need a reso!

Originally recommended to me by a friend I can’t agree more, this place is fantastic Service was incredible! Hosts took the time to explain each dish on the menu which doesn’t really happen anymore. They guided us through it with specific drinks to complement each meal. Food was stunning we ordered way too much but it all sounded so good. If we stayed in Seville longer we’d have visited again.

Google
This place is so cozy and provides great delicious varieties of meals- bigger than the tapas. The flavors are incredible. We came 2 nights in a row and tried different dishes and the desserts are a work of art.

Google
ConTenedor combines a cozy, quirky vibe with fantastic food and service. They thoughtfully accommodated a vegetarian and allergies in our group, and every dish—right down to the salad—was beautifully crafted. The chicken liver paté tapa was a standout, and the wine and dessert pairings were spot on. Robert and the team made it a truly special evening, perfect for celebrating Thanksgiving abroad. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Wow... This place combines culinary excellence and super chill/artsy vibe which both make for an awesome experience. Their duck is dynamite: you must order it and dive into flavor town. It's truly incredible. Their fish entree was also incredible. As far as appetizers it wasn't memorable but definitely interesting. I probably didn't pick the best dishes there. Nevertheless a must try if in Seville.

Yelp
Amazing, amazing, amazing! Had dinner here on my last night in Sevilla and was very impressed by the exquisite cuisine and service. ¡Increíble!

Yelp
This was one of my favorite restaurants and certainly the best food I experienced in the city. The food was unbelievably layered in a beautiful marriage of unforgettable flavors. I was impressed by the additional focus on locally sourced products that are organic. Even the wine list is full of organic and sustainable options. It seemed I detail was overlooked to stay true to their ideals. I was impressed by the healthy portion size as well, making this a steal for your money. Also, the service was wonderful and welcoming. This is a place not to be missed! I honestly would have returned had I had more days in the city.

Yelp
Hands down, the best meal I had in all of Spain. I can probably draw up some unique dishes I loved in different places but Contenedor knocked the ball out of the park from start to finish. Salmon tartare was amazing. The pappardelle was good. They change up the style and ingredients of this dish from time to one. This one in particular was not my absolute favorite but it was all right. The squid ink rice with calamari was the best thing. If you love crispy ends of rice, you'll fall in love with this one. Each bite had toasted crispy rice with lots of flavor. Just a great dish. Must get. Cheese cake was phenomenal. Made with fresh goat cheese. It was better than any NY style cheesecake I've ever eaten. Must visit.

Yelp
4.5 ConTenedor was a fun and unique dining experience in Seville. The inside was very funky and different than most of Seville - colorful artwork, mismatched chairs, and live music! The menu system was different, and inefficient in my opinion (but could be a lot more novel for those fluent in Spanish!). A waiter brings over a large daily menu with the menu written on it (only in Spanish), props it up on your table, reads through the entire thing with you, and leaves you with it until you're ready to order. For those of us who don't speak Spanish, we just had to try our hardest to remember everything the waiter said. Despite that, our waiter was helpful in repeating things we had questions about and we were able to order dishes we enjoyed! LENTIL CAVIAR // Calling this "caviar" can be misleading - I would call this dish a lentil salad. It was made up of black lentils, an herbaceous green salad, cherry tomatoes, peppers, onions, and a yellow curry sauce. Our only complaint was that we wish there was more yellow curry sauce! PEAR SALAD // This salad came with whole pieces of leaf lettuce that needed to be cut, and was topped with some quinoa, onions, an entire poached pair, and an addictive tahini/yogurt dressing. The dressing was the star here! VEGETABLE WOK // The veggie wok was simple - just an entire bowl of crunchy vegetables. Vegetables included unique ones like squash blossoms and cactus leaves. They were a bit too crunchy, oily, and big (served whole) for it to be an easy to eat dish. SEABASS // I loved my succulent piece of seabass. The piece of fish was generously dusted with sea salt, and served alongside roasted veggies (peppers + eggplant), and a salty olive tapenade. This dish had flavors coming from all directions and the fish was cooked well with a glistening inside and a crispy skin on top. The service was good throughout the evening as well, with our server continuing to check in on us. I've heard great things about the duck rice, for those interested. ConTenedor was a fun dinner spot with tasty dishes - a great spot to check out.

Yelp
This place was very good the staff was friendly except for the busy woman who had a bit of an attitude. But the waiter was amazing. I loved the cheese plate with the fantastic tomato marmalade! The fish with the ginger wasabi sauce was amazing with the salted fish. I loved the vegetable wok as well. I thought the mushrooms were good but very different. For dessert I had the hazelnut cake with the mango ice cream which was an unlikely great combo. My favorite dessert though was the apple cheesecake with vanilla ice cream. I had tea and the pear salad which was also very big! Don't forget to check out my profile!

Yelp
The portions here are very generous and so tasty that you will not be able to stop stuffing your face. The menu changes daily and they have a chalkboard they carry around to show what the specials are for the day. The ambiance is fun and artsy and they have great service. The highlight for us was the duck and cripsy rice. The duck was crispy on the outside with very tender meat laid over perfectly seasoned crispy rice. A must try!!

Yelp
Best meal we had in Spain! We just walked in on the first night and the lady was like, "No tengo nada", so we made a reservation for two nights later and came back. It's a small place and they are only open for dinner, so I would definitely make reservations ahead of time, cause you don't want to miss this place. The lady made a big deal about having reservations at 10:15 because the restaurant supposedly closes at 11. But we didn't even get seated until 10:45 and there were still people in the restaurant when we left at 12. All the menus are on giant chalkboard in Spanish and someone will come and translate for you. We went with... Salmon Tartare: Phenomenal. So fresh and perfect with a great blend of flavors. Homemade Pasta with Iberian Ham: This needed a little salt, but also was a little overly strong on the rosemary and the olive oil. Shrimp with nopales and cheese and deliciousness: I'm really can't remember the proper spanish name for this, but it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. Spicy grilled shrimp with cactus and cheese and just overall amazingness. Can't wait to go back and try this again.

Yelp
I do not care about all organic. Hands down the best meal of our trip. Wow! I had the Pastela and was thinking about that meal for two days after. Yum. They have a small but well focused wine list. Take the time to visit it is a side trip well worth the time and effort.

Chris K.

Yelp
This is hands down one of the best meals I have had in my life. My fiancée and I made a 1045pm dinner reservation and arrived a couple of minutes early and we were seated right away. The wait-staff was very professional and had better than average English to accommodate our less than stellar Spanish. The ambiance was incredible, reminded me of a trendy restaurant in Chicago or NYC with the decor. It was a big space but felt cozy but not cramped like some places in Seville. The wine list was extensive and fairly priced. The best part was far and away the meal. We ordered the ceviche to start and it was exquisite - perfect amount of flavor and a little heat from one of the peppers. The tagliatelle was my fiancée's favorite meals and she claims it was one of the best pasta dishes she has ever had - it was light and flavorful with mussels and octopus. My favorite was the crunchy rice with duck - so many flavors bursting (to match my waistline) out it was one of the best dishes I have ever had. Would definitely return here and recommend to all!

Yelp
The restaurant came highly recommended from the lady running reception where we were staying while in Seville. We arrived 'early' by Spanish standards to an empty restaurant, by the time we left a few hours later after 9pm the place was packed and it was quite clearly a favourite with the locals. We started with a mixed meat, cheese and bread platter along with a local wine while we decided what to order from the daily menu. The wine we selected came at the recommendation of the waitress. We ordered a Spanish red, it was a light to medium bodied red that was a little young but still held it's own. It paired well across all of our dishes being just rich enough to pair with my ragu while not too heavy for the other lighter dishes. I ended up selecting the fresh pasta with beef ragu, which was a very rich and tasty dish that I struggled to finish but did so in the end as I did not want to waste a single bite. My sister the Lamb with peaches and a pumpkin puree, by the end of the meal the plate was almost clean and receiving rave reviews of how the flavours worked perfectly together given the interesting combination. Mum ordered the Duck dish and enjoyed it, initially the duck was a little too rare for her liking but the kitchen was happy to cook it for a little longer to bring it to medium-well for her and with that sorted she had no complaints. Dad order the Calimari and black rice dish, he too enjoyed it but preferred some of our dishes more having ordered this dish out of curiosity and intrigue rather than a great love of the ingredients and combination of them. For desert I bowed out feeling quite full from the starter and the very rich pasta dish. My sister ordered the apple cheesecake, which I sampled a bite and wished I had enough space to order myself a slice as it was heavenly! Mum had the chocolate fondant which was recommended to us by the lady at reception, and with good reason as the bite of it that I had made me even more envious that I had filled up so much with the previous course. Dad went for a light yoghurt to end the meal as he was feeling quite full himself. The restaurant was also lovely in that they comp all tea and coffee ordered with desert, a nice touch that we appreciated as this can often lead to an expensive final course if you order a few with desert and chatting after the meal.

Yelp
I don't usually make dinner reservations when traveling to a new city. Glad I made the exception and had the hotel to help me secure a table. Despite the underwhelming desserts, it's still a solid 5 stars with the friendly services. The menu was written on a chalkboard in Spanish. Servers going from table to table explaining the menu. We jokingly asked our server if non Spanish speakers tend to order the first few items because there were closer to 20 items. It was a memory test. Pate, came with jam, chives garish and warm toast. Since we over ordered, we took the leftover for our day trip to ronda the next day and made the whole bus jealous. Salads with local seasonal greens. Given it's October, it's some fresh woody dark greens that my body desperately needs. Mushrooms soup consists of shatika and a local mushroom similar to the trumpet prepared in two ways, a scoop of slight sweet hummus along with the foamy cream broth to tie all ingredients together. My favorite for the evening. Duck confit with crispy rice, the signature dish. I was skeptical about the crispy rice but the server assure me the rice was not deep fried to crispy. Prefect execution. I was so full but still managed to finished it as it's so addictive that u kept finding something new with each bite. Underwhelming dessert probably because I was beyond full already. I initially only wanted to hear our server explaining the menu passionately and ended up ordering two. The chocolate tart was mew, should have listened to the advice from the hotel staff that Spain chocolate is only good enough for hot chocolate & churro. The rice pudding with raspberry lime sorbet and Wasabi was a nice flavor combo but the rice was broken and gummy due to being stirred too much. I will skip the desserts if I ever go back again.

Yelp
If you are coming to Sevilla then make it a point to come to this restaurant. They book up and you will need a reservation. It took us four nights to get in but it was worth the wait! As mentioned in earlier reviews, the menu changes daily based on the available fresh ingredients. The menu is a chalk board that the wait staff share and will gladly translate it from Spanish to English, French, and I believe I even heard German. They have so many options that it may be difficult to choose. The prices are excellent as is the wine list. We started out with a half a dozen oysters with lime to squeeze on to them. Extremely fresh and with just the lime juice an excellent start. Then came the lamb chop dish that was out of this world and perfectly seasoned. My wife enjoyed the tagliatelle with venison or beef. The we ended the night with two different desserts (tiramisu and an luscious cheesecake with raspberry coulis and vanilla ice cream.) By far the best meal in Sevilla and in the top three in Spain. The service, food, and decor is excellent.

Yelp
Our 3rd night in Seville after 5 nights in Barcelona, this was our best meal thus far in Spain and we have had some very enjoyable and modern interpretations. Admittedly we are partial to a farm to table sensibility and this was very definitely of that ilk. Nevertheless the execution of the dishes was stunning and not at all fussy and the service spot on. We will go back one more time on our last night here. Can't wait!
google avatar

Charles S.

Yelp
Lives up to its rave reviews; everything fresh and delicious This is a trend-setting "farm to table" slow cooking restaurant in Seville that has had rave reviews and it lived up to its outstanding reputation on our visit. Everything was fresh and delicious and our server guided us through the menu and spoke excellent English. The menu changes so the exact dishes we ordered may not be available but we had a delicious pate starter and shared pappardelles with tomato and mushrooms in a cream sauce followed by a rice and mushroom dish with duck. Even the half portions are large so the two of us would have been satisfied with two, not three dishes in order to make room for the delicious desserts. Highly recommended. Reservations essential.

Yelp
One of our top 10 lunches of 2018. Make a res and get ready for dining perfection. This spot has an amazing menu which later reveals creative plating and sublime flavours. Service is flawless. We dined nearly 3 hours! The wine list is wonderful. Too much to say, just go here..you will long remember your experience.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant. The menu changes daily depending on what they get fresh at the market that day. Great food, wine, service in an artsy, funky atmosphere.

Yelp
I don't want to overstate this or sound as though I'm exaggerating...if I've had a better meal in my life, I cannot recall it. Every bite was staggeringly delicious. Creative but not simply for the sake of being different, very much top chef vision. If the chef here ever leaves, I will find where he or she has gone and be certain to visit their next restaurant. We ordered a Mushroom Salad to start. Honestly, I had no clue what to expect, but after an inordinate amount of jamon and bread during our time in Spain, I needed to eat some plants. I could never have expected what arrived! It was three different kinds of mushrooms (I would love to know what they were!)...one sliced long and thin that it was unnecessary to cook, so it was raw and tender and delicious. There were two others lightly cooked and a crema that was just DIVINE. I'm going to quest to replicate this dish for all my life, I am quite sure. Unlikely, but until I move to Sevilla, I'll have to try. And then we had the ceviche. THE CEVICHE. My husband is obsessed with it in general, I personally can take it or leave it. THIS I wanted to come back and have for breakfast, lunch, and dinner the following day. It was light, fresh, tangy, and robust with tender fish. This dish I will also talk about for years to come and will never want a ceviche again unless it tastes like this one. For the main course we had an arroz con langostinos I believe...it was the quite delicious as well, although not as truly memorable as the other two. That is by no means a knock on it, just the others were so so SO delightful I was sad to get to the last bite. The service was OUTSTANDING as well. We attempted to come without reservation, and they were kind and accommodating to allow us to wait for a no-show and gave us that table in an appropriate time. No attitude for not having a reservation, no attitude for our lousy Spanish (which is quite embarrassing for me). The server was extremely gracious and hospitable as well. Just GO. But make a reservation!!! They were packed every time we walked by in a week, and rightfully so.

Yelp
This place was so amazing!! Great atmosphere! Great food and service! The meal was so flavourful and well paired. I ate way too much and I am not even sorry about it.

Yelp
Slow Dining should be more of a thing. Our experience and meal was great. I highly recommend the dish with duck and mushroom and rice. This place has a great vibe, an entertaining open kitchen and staff who are passionate about what they do
google avatar

Janet C.

Yelp
This meal was my favorite in Seville. The service is fantastic and the food was phenomenal. We got the pate and jamon to start. The jamon was amazing - so tender and flavorful. The ceviche was a standout and probably my favorite part of the meal. So well marinated and the textures we're fantastic. We also got the seafood tagliatelle which had some of the biggest mussels I've ever eaten and finally the pork loin. Definitely make a stop here while you are in Seville - the prices are reasonable and the food is outstanding.

Yelp
After living in Seville for two months and surviving solely on tapas, I was excited to try Contenedor. Many of my friends raved about the place, and this restaurant definitely lived up to my expectations. The ambiance feels warm and cozy without exuding a pretentious vibe. The staff was friendly and helpful in translating the entire menu to English. The menu changes daily depending what shipments they receive. The four of us ordered the appetizer salad, which is beautiful and an absolute must. We also ordered four entrees to share and it was the perfect amount of food. I highly recommend the roasted duck served over crunchy rice. While the meal may not top the list of best meals of my life, it definitely tops the list of my best meals in Seville and I highly recommend it to those visiting the city.
google avatar

Rudy O.

Yelp
This was the first place we visited the day we arrived. My wife made reservations and that was a good thing. The place is very popular and for good reasons. The food is excellent and well proportioned. If you find yourself in the Macarena area of Sevilla you owe it to yourself to make reservations and visit this restaurant. You will not be disappointed.
google avatar

Cassandra R.

Yelp
We went here expecting alot and came away dissapointed. The servers were amazing awesome out of this world amazing. The price was great. But the food felt slightly inspired. It felt catered to outsiders compared to locals. For example, the food was satisfying but too dense with its sweet meat and rice dishes. I think it needs more imagination. The salad is tasty but doesnt enliven the dish. I would go back again if I had to.
google avatar

John P.

Yelp
Waitress was very good and Food was very tasty but the prawn seemed a bit undercooked and we paid for it dearly that night and the next day with serious digestive illness. They need to be a bit more careful.
google avatar

Leila B.

Yelp
Amazing food and service. Some of the freshest and most interesting plates here. The lamb shank was great, the rice with duck was great, we also got some very fresh seafood platter to start with. The dessert was also very unique and tasty. Highly recommended! You need to make a reservation but you can just stop by in the afternoon to do it. They are very friendly!

Yelp
We are so grateful to have the most awesome friends that took us here for dinner. Wow. Amazing restaurant. One of our best meals contender. Highly recommend this wonderful place. Outstanding ambiance. Wonderful service and flavors that almost make you drunk with out the wine. A must go!

Yelp
The best meal we've had in our 2 weeks in Spain with the most wonderful staff. Everything was absolutely fresh and perfectly made & presented.
google avatar

Alexa S.

Yelp
Probably one of the best meals of my life. Incredible service, delicious food and great atmosphere. The menu changes frequently, but we had the salmon tartare, grilled pulpo and the arroz con pato - can't remember the exact names of the dishes, but will forever remember the flavors! Not to mention, our visit was on the last day of our honeymoon, and they surprised us with complimentary glasses of sparkling wine. What an amazing way to end our vacation!
google avatar

Mark D.

Yelp
We ordered and split the foie gras, the mushroom tapas and a fish entree. Everything was well presented and very tasty. The wine choices were local, but excellent. We accompanied our meal with a 2014 Pago de Santa Cruz Gran Reserva Ribera del Duero, with strong chocolate undertones. The service was intimate. We very much enjoyed the dining experience.

Art S.

Yelp
Found this place nice to look at with good appetizers. Tomato marmalade was very good. Main courses were ok, not good. Asked if they could do something for our teen who isn't very adventurous And it was a basic NO. Waitress was gruff and bothered that I asked I don't recommends. For $150 lunch go somewhere they aren't so high on themselves.

Yelp
We have been in Sevilla two months, and every time we walk past Contenedor, which is about four times a week, I say to myself "I need to eat there." Tonight was the night, and the place lived up to every hope and dream I had. First, a word about vibe - this place has it. It's comfortable, cozy, and chic all at once - the lighting (low), the music (tonight was a vocalist singing bossa nova tunes), and the service (unbelievably gracious and friendly) just enhance the vibe. To me, this felt like eating at a little slice of WIlliamsburg in Sevilla. The deal with Contenedor is that the food is unbelievably fresh, and the menu - which is delivered to your table on a chalkboard- changes daily. The waitstaff will happily translate the menu for you, and offer ample descriptions of every single item listed (and everything on the wine list). It's clear that everyone who works there is passionate about the restaurant, and about food. We started with what must have been the freshest salad I've ever tasted. The word "salad" somehow doesn't do justice to the incredible melange of deeply fresh veggies that Contenedor served up. Then there were shrimp - succulent, juicy, perfectly cooked (as in just enough to keep the shrimp a perfect pink and almost sweet) - served on a bed of amazing grilled veggies - asparagus, cauliflower, mushrooms. Then there was the black rice with squid - thank you, Contenedor, for not serving some creamy risotto, but instead a deeply flavored rice with seared squid. And then the white fish served with oysters (yes, oysters). I can only describe the taste as "summer beach" - somehow both light and rich. And please, do yourself a favor, and no matter how full you are, get dessert. The chocolate fondant is one of those amazing molten cakes - once you break into it, warm molten chocolate oozes out. And the chocolate tart is dense, heavenly, with deep hints of cinnamon and hazelnut. Tip1 : Make a reservation! Tip2: Unlike a lot of Sevillan joints, this place is open every night. Tip3: The portions are rather large. We ordered four main courses for four people, and we might have been fine with three.

Yelp
Recommendation from friends! Home run awesome! Vegan/ Organic! Eat your vitamins!! Our new go to joint!!

Yelp
Dinner (twice) Food, value, ambience, service: 5/5 One of the best meals we've had recently. Javier the manager and his wait staff are super friendly, it feels like a valley startup, creativity in motion :) not surprisingly menu changes daily. Highly recommend making reservation advance, everything we tried was amazing (including the apple crumble). One of the top 3 among the the highly rated restos/tapas in Seville. My recommendations would be the black rice, & shrimp pasta.

Cynthia K.

Yelp
Had heard from friends who lived in Spain that they had been trying to dine at ConTenedor but could not get a reservation. Went online 2 months ahead to make a reservation. Agree w/ the other reviews that this might be one of THE BEST restaurants in Sevilla! Our server was fabulous (think she was from Slovenia) and read out loud the entire menu with detailed descriptions of each dish! No paper menus -all handwritten on a chalk board which travels from table to table. We LOVED every dish especially the salmon tartare appetizer; favorite entrees were duck con arroz, fish and lamp chops were all delicious! Also perfect balance in the dessert offerings. Best of all we were able to watch the handsome chefs prepare our meals through a glass window fronting our table. Wonderful dining experience!
google avatar

Marie K.

Yelp
By far, the best meal we have had in Spain! After many recommendations and searching, we narrowed it down to Contenedor. I will be dreaming of their sauces, and delicious quality ingredients! Wish I found this place sooner on our trip to Seville! I strongly recommend trying their food any night of the week!

Miki B.

Yelp
This place served me the best meal of my life. We were a group of 5 and ordered a bunch of different things to try as a group and it was all wonderful. I highly recommend.

Yelp
I studied abroad in Sevilla and I can truly say that Contenedor was one of the best meals that I had while I was in Sevilla. I went with a friend who was visiting who did not speak much Spanish and the waiters were very helpful explaining the menu to her in English. I ordered a duck & mushroom rice dish that was delicious. My friend ordered some beef in a strawberry gazpacho. The presentation was also beautiful. The menu changes on a regular basis so there'll always be something new to try. Would highly recommend

renee v.

Yelp
A wonderful dining experience in Seville for us Californians. The menu is on a chalkboard that the waiter kindly explained in English. He then helped highlight their more signature, popular dishes. We started with the ceviche which was good. The pear salad came next which was light, fresh and lovely but what followed was exceptional. The mushroom dish was a mixture of three different styles of mushrooms on a layer of some type of garlic cream sauce. It explodes with flavor even if you are not a mushroom lover. We ended up ordering a second one. Then came the other excellent dish which was duck with rice. The rich flavor and succulent duck were exquisite. My favorite by far. I don't even love duck and loved this dish. Next was the tuna which I was not a fan of. A bit fishy and salty. This is a slow, calm and relaxed restaurant designed to thrill your tastebuds. Very unique. We had a few desserts but the cheesecake was silky, smooth and not too sweet. Delicious!!! Overall, a wonder dining experience and lovely staff.

Yelp
Hands down the best meal in Spain. All organic local ingredients. The meat was cooked to perfection- and the quality was as good as Argentine Steak. The squid ink Risotto was out of this world but what really stood out were the specialty wine list- wines from small vineyards around Spain that have me considering making a road trip to find these gems. Amazing atmosphere, great service, and food I'm still dreaming about 2 weeks later!! Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This place is a must visit if you are in Seville. Food is just awesome. We had a Pear Salad, Duck Rice with Mushroom and a SeaBass. All these shared between 2. For dessert we had rice pudding with berries and Wasabi Ice cream. Yes Wasabi Ice cream. I was a bit nervous about this combination but it turns out pretty good. The menu, they come to you with a blackboard with all the dishes and they give you an explanation of them. No menu as other regular restaurant; dishes keep changing. Portions are pretty good size. Three dishes for 2 is enough. Reservation is a MUST!!! Don't try to come to this place without a reservation. Is a very slow food restaurant and no one is in a hurry. You eat, you talk and chill. Great atmosphere. Just perfect for a night evening with your friends or significant other. They do have a selection of wine for those wine lovers and you can see all these selection in their menu which they do have one. The dessert menu is the same as the meals, they will come to you with this blackboard with all the deserts and explain you what they are and so on. Overall great service and I wouldn't hesitate to come back to this nice restaurant.

Yelp
This was a creative dining experience. As many other reviews stated, you need a reservation. Luckily, we were able to get in the next day for lunch. We had three kids with us, two of which ate there, and the third who is a picky eater waited to get pizza afterwards (which is just down the street and also highly recommended). It's nice to find chefs creating new menus each day and using local ingredients. We ordered the oysters, pasta with mushrooms and cream sauce (we had it made without the ham), cannoli filled with duck meat, and goat shoulder over couscous. All the meals were delicious. The sauce for the cannoli was a bit bland for our taste, but could be fine for someone else. We would highly recommend the oysters, pasta with mushrooms, and the goat. Overall, a great experience! (Parking was a bit difficult to find so make sure you plan accordingly for your reservation)

Yelp
The food here is, hands down, some of the best eats in all of Sevilla. The reason for the 3 stars is due to the way service went downhill when I ordered my dessert. I'll keep this one brief since I'll be talking more about it on my blog later on. I arrived around 8:15pm and learned that they didn't open until 8:30pm. I was dining alone and figured I could sit at the bar area instead of needing a reservation. The owner (I think it was the owner) accommodated me and told me to return in 10-15 minutes and he will seat me for dinner. I would need to be finished by 10,10:15 as he had a large party coming in around that time and would be sitting at that table. This was perfectly fine with me as it gave me over an hour to have my meal. I was just grateful for an accommodation! They offer wine, artisanal (read "craft") beer, sherry, coffee, tea and other beverages. I tried one of their artisanal beers based on what I told the waitress that I liked and it was freaking phenomenal. The beer was called Zurda and was made in Sevilla. Great recommendation. The menu is handwritten on a chalkboard and your waiter/waitress explains everything single thing for you either in English or Spanish. Some appetizer items can be halved which works great for single dining folks such as myself but others, like the oysters, can't be. This made me a little sad but I can fully understand the reasoning behind it. The menu changes daily with some items being staples like their black rice. I went with the rice with duck and mushrooms. The rice had a crunchy texture because it is fried on the outside and the duck literally fell of the bone. Coupled with the mushroom sauce, it was possibly one of the best dishes I've had since visiting Spain. Now the reason for the 3 stars. I ordered their chocolate fondue cake which has the liquid chocolate center and my choice flavor ice cream. I chose cream. It took exactly 35 minutes for me to receive my dessert. Yep, you read it correctly. 35 minutes. At minute 20, I was approached by the owner saying it would be out in "a minute." The concept of time in Spain is pretty non-existent so I tacked on a 5-7 minute wait. At minute 28, I advised the waitress and the owner that I was waiting almost 30 minutes to which the owner reminded me that the dessert takes time because of the way it is made. While this is an absolute fact, a reputable and capable kitchen does not take 30 minutes to make ONE chocolate fondue cake. When it finally came out, it came with the wrong ice cream. I advised the waitress and it came out a second time with a different ice cream but still wrong. On the third try, they finally got it but at this point, I was so turned off that I didn't enjoy the dessert. It was bland in taste and was unimpressive. They were nice enough to comp the dessert but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth. Is the food amazing? YES! Is the service great? For the most part, it was. I was impressed up until dessert. I would definitely return but would skip dessert.

Yelp
We went to Contenedor on our first night in Seville. It was listed in our guidebook as one of the newest hype restaurant. Unfortunately, we did not book and the restaurant was full that night. The waitress kindly ask us if we would like to book for the day after and send us to a recommended place she knew (Al Aljibe). The restaurant was worth the wait as we had a delicious time. About setting : somewhat vintage but warmly decorated. The restaurant can host couples as well as small groups on a beautiful wooden table. According to fashion trends, chairs are unpaired on table for two, but all are very stylish though you can say some might just come from IKEA-like Food and service : Polite and smiling waitresses that speak many languages as well as a friendly manager that takes time to talk with you. Food is very good. We had merluza and a spinash, moza and mackerel salad. Beer was fresh and the recommended white wine was delicious. Dessert was as good as the rest of the meal with a choice of pastries (apple cheesecake, chocolate pie etc.) A real treat for one of your important night in Sevilla!

Yelp
Delicious food. Very fresh! Ordered the three tablas for appetizer (queso, jamon, and pate). Then the arroz negro and arroz con pato, as well as the cazuela con gambas. All very good and fresh. Great service! Definitely recommend the homemade artesian beer to drink!

Yelp
Had a delightful, delicious lunch on visit in MAY17. They were very knowledgeable and helpful in selecting wine from a very interesting list. Tried to walk-in at opening of dinner service a few nights later and sooo disappointed they were fully booked for the night. Be sure to call ahead for dinner. Very highly recommend.
