As a high-class hipster establishment in Newtown, this place is fantastic. It's a bit off the hustle and bustle part of Newtown, on a quieter street.
There are two levels of the restaurant; both levels are tight squeezes and the entire has very limited tables. On the bottom floor is the bar, with a few high top tables for people who are okay with a bit of a louder area. Upstairs area has around 6 tables or so plus the bathroom.
Make sure you make reservations ahead of time since this place is super popular and like I mentioned, there aren't many tables here.
Now, onto the food. This place is a cannery. What the heck is that, you may ask. Don't worry, I thought similarly. Basically, they can everything they possibly can. Food, cocktails, t-shirts, everything. If you're waiting for a table, like my crew was even though we had a table reserved, you'll see near the entrance that they have their merchandise on sale, meaning all their branded t-shirts in cans. Their Newtown sour and their cosmopoli-tin were both delicious, but the Newtown sour definitely was a bit more of my vibe. The cosmopoli-tin was a bit... sour? I know what you're thinking... maybe the Newtown sour was on my tongue or I had them confused because I tried two. Nope, the cosmopoli-tin was not as sweet as I expected, but a bit more sour.
We tried a variety of cheeses and meats, and all were great. No complaints except that they have small portions, but that's expected at a high-class hipster joint, so not a valid complaint. Definitely would come again if I wanted to treat myself a bit!
