Best Dishes D.C. Editors Ate This Week: November 20 | Eater DC

"I was at an arcade for a friend’s birthday — the newish Continues in Alexandria — and didn’t go in with high culinary expectations since we were there for skee ball, pinball, and Duck Hunt, so it was a nice surprise to find a substantial food menu, especially on the sandwich front. I went with the wings and recommend ordering them plain with buffalo sauce on the side for maximum crispiness. The wings carry a mild dry-rub seasoning that delivers flavor even without a sauce drench, and Alabama white sauce and Carolina barbecue are additional options." - Tierney Plumb

Fun place, friendly staff and super delicious food. I’m vegan and did not have high expectations for the food… usually at bars, I have to stick to french fries and beer. But they had this very delicious all vegan sandwich called the playdate. I completely cleared my plate and all of the tater tots. So good. My husband had a non-vegan sandwich and he also liked it. Something with gochujang. They also offered a birthday treat since it was his birthday… very sweet. They have a great selection of games - definitely coming back!

Continues is a totally awesome throwback gaming experience with an upscale, yet approachable restaurant vibe. My husband and I stopped by on a Saturday night and were glad we had a reservation because this place is definitely popular. The menu is clearly inspired by a professional chef and they also offer a full bar. We enjoyed the food and cocktails. The gaming experience is so fun. The nostalgia is in full effect, to include two mock living room corners with game consoles and couches. We met the owner and he mentioned that are planning to expand the arcade games area in the future. There is also a parking garage conveniently located next door. We will definitely be back. Thanks!

An absolute stellar experience to see for yourself. Originally went to celebrate a birthday, and found ourselves in a home-y, familiar, and nostalgic atmosphere with like-minds and childhood enjoyment. Be assured, if you are at all curious to step in, check it out, it will surprise you. Shout out to Alex for incredible service and knowledge of the facilities and their owners. I dont know when I will find myself back, but I had a great time. To the kitchen, management, and staff, thank you so much. We loved it!

Super fun addition to Old Town. Great vibe, decent food, and wonderful staff. Came on a Friday night right after opening. The staff greeted us and was super friendly. Adriana (sp) was our server, and she was spectacular! Great recommendations and took time to make sure we understood everything. Had a couple of the happy hour bites, which were vegetarian friendly. Food was overall average/slightly above average. The standout was the buffalo cauliflower --YUM! Arcade was also well equipped and fun. All they need is a side by side basketball game, and we would have stayed even longer! They're still working through some of the quirks of being newly opened, but they're doing it was grace. We'll definitely be returning!

I came by today for lunch on a whim. The burger and fries were great but I was really blown away by the Black Materia cocktail. The bartender was very nice and attentive. I also love the idea of the cameras and screens above the pinball machines so you can see someone’s game as they’re playing. Can’t wait to come back!

Super fun, chill vibes with friendly folks and good classic games. We walked in and instantly knew this was going to be a new favorite spot. The food was delicious -- we both got burgers and shared the wings -- and the staff were all welcoming and personable. Games-wise, the variety is a good mix of classic nostalgia, something for everyone, and everything worked well. We can't wait to bring our friends here!

September 24, 2025 Repeat customer here! I love this place and the food. Had to swoop in for the Atari Lynx and had a great night. Great customer service provided by Rashad, Him, and Alex. Original review: Not fully open but got to do the beta launch of dinner. The food and cocktails were phenomenal. Try the Lynx Atari and tots. I split the pickle spears with friends and we loved them. Honestly I don’t know how to describe the feeling of nostalgia and home but I really just felt happy. Playing Sonic, Space Invaders, a shooting game and multiple games of pinball and skeeball just made me thrilled. 5 stars.

Super fun atmosphere, like stepping back into the 80s but cleaner and more inclusive. The food is honestly good and surprisingly vegetarian-friendly (the buffalo cauliflower is a must-try for meat-eaters too). Great draft beer options, fun cocktails, and of course all the classic arcade games that are the main attraction. Overall it’s just a fun place to be — with or without kids — because it’s unusual enough to feel like a special experience but as comfortable as being in your high school friend’s basement on a summer Sunday.
