Contodo Fresh Mexican Eats

Excellent food, freshly made, the prices and portion sizes are still decent compared to other taco shops. I've tried 6 different burritos and, carne asada fries, rolled tacos, and so far, they have all been pretty good. Only constructive criticism is, dont use rice in a fish burrito. Rice is filler and doesn't add flavor(only my opinion). It just makes it bigger. The salsa flavors are pretty good and well paired with the food

I ordered a California burrito. It can't with guac, sour cream, pico, and cheese. The meat was very flavorful, but there ratio was a little off. Not enough that ur didn't make it a good burrito. They have three salsas. The green one is good. They said the red was spicy, but it's a 6/10 in spiciness, 8/10 in flavor. They had an orange one that was gross tasting. I think it's meant for seafood. I dunno. I would definitely recommend coming here. It was a pretty good burrito.

Was referred here by my best friend who kept telling me this is definitely the new go to spot for cali burritos… well I’m so glad I came by because the burrito was bomb! I’m super picky when it comes to cali B’s, it’s gotta have the right ratio but also the meat has to shine. Every bite of that steak was flavorful and juicy. I didn’t catch the name of the woman behind the counter but she was super nice and helpful for my first time coming and definitely went above and beyond to make the experience that much better. Jamaica was bomb, cabeza was bomb, and the spicy orange salsa is FIRE. Definitely ask for the spicy salsa! Contodo gained a new customer, skyline has a great new addition to add to your taco shop rotations!

Camel here with 15 of my fam and they gave us authentic Mexican food. Everyone enjoyed it! I'm not from here so I got the birria plate, as there isn't much good Mexican in London. Was epic, highly recommend

Truly my favorite Mexican. Their tortillas are amazing and you can taste that they're always fresh. Their food always tastes fresh as well unlike so many places that just feel and taste greasy. The staff is also really friendly.

I originally came across this hidden with a Next Door review. I saved it into Google maps and today my kids and I am came to check it out. My son had the Cali burrito and loved it my other two kids and I tried a variety of the Street and Other tacos and we loved them all. My son and I both especially loved the Mar Y Tierra taco. The orange spicy sauce is fire and delicious. I highly recommend checking this taco shop out.

Food is good but they keep raising the price. Also if you want anything on the side they charge you extra for the containers they put them in. Also the staff isn’t the friendliest. If it wasn’t for the food being good… not the best but good I would never go back. 20 dollars for carne sada fries is ridiculous.

So glad I found this place. Amazing tortillas, beautiful char on the adobada, all 3 styles of hot sauce are👍. Only a couple picnic tables outside near drive thru customers. Plenty of parking when I stopped in for Taco Tuesday lunch. I will absolutely be back when working in the area. Thanks guys, it was 👍👍.

Food there is great!!! the hot suce is delicious and very unique. I love to grab my burritos from Contodo, my husband loves cabeza tacos this is the only place he can eat . I really recommend this taco shop. employees are friendly to all clients coming in. Very polite people . We sat at the bench that are placed out and we really enjoyed that food.

An all around always-going-to-be-good spot. Will say this is a 4.5 because the Onlyyyyy thing that can be improved is the Quesabirria. Would say this can use a little more liquid or include a consomé like many places do nowadays. This is not stopping the renoccuring visits. Carne asada/ pollo asada fries good Cali burrito good Tacos gooooood. (Fish/ shrimp/ carne/ pollo) Appreciate that the orange salsa actually has spice to it and the other red and green also tasty. Desserts pleasantly surprised us. The arroz con leche is a repurchase. Everyone always friendly . Parking is limited but will usually find a space. Space is small but clean from what you can see. Worth trying it if looking for good Mexican taco shop.

This review is solely about the California Burrito and nothing else on the menu. It's my go-to when getting a burrito. The service is great, and the staff is friendly. I actually gave this place 5 stars a while back for their California Burrito -- it used to be one of my favorite spots, especially before the recent $2 price hike on the Cali. But lately, I'm not sure what happened. This is the second time in a row I've gotten a Cali Burrito with soggy fries and cold (not melted) cheese inside. It just doesn't taste as good as it used to. I really hope the owner takes note of this inconsistency and brings it back to being as great as it once was -- I'll gladly update my review if that happens. I'm sure this has to be one of their flagship items on the menu. I'll give it another shot, but if things don't improve, I'll probably stick with good old El Puerto down the road.

*I ordered through door dash* so I can't speak for the establishment itself. I ordered the rolled tacos with chicken. The chicken was okay I also asked for salsas and utensils. They did provide one of each salsa they had which I don't think was enough. I ordered the fries thinking they were the same as the picture I posted but nope they were just plain fries lol. So not sure if it's a restaurant issue or door dash. Fries were thin and crispy tho. Just bummed they weren't what I was expecting. The horchata was bombbbbb. It was cold and just the right amount of sweetness. Might try them again but go in person to see the actual menu. Paid around 25 bucks for all three items.

I decided to give this place a chance after hearing about it on TikTok, my go to order is usually the California burrito in which I only keep the cheese and guac, the service was good which is why I'm giving it two stars instead of one. Let's start off with the price, the cost after taxes and card fee was around $15 which isn't the worst since my local shop charges around $13.50 I did drive a bit to get here so no I was not in the area. When the burrito came out I was instantly disappointed.. the thing was skinny as hell which is usually a big red flag, the tortilla wasn't Crisped at all and honestly I felt like it was pretty mediocre. Was it disgusting? No it wasn't, was it something I'd drive out of my way for again? No I wouldn't, would I recommend this over other places with the same price? No I wouldn't. Hope this helps! Really wanted to like this place

Ok foos I asked some questions to learn more. They make their roll tacos fresh every day and the crispy tacos are made to order. I had a Mikita last time and it was good. This time I ordered street tacos and a quesabirria to see how it was They also make their Aguas frescas they are not powdered. They make the tortillas fresh as well. So basically no frozen stuff like many of the popular spots including Roberto's The pollo asado and carnitas tacos were delish. The quesabirria was really delish.

Service was great food was greater. We bought the rolled tacos, surf n turf fries & the skyline burrito, all received good reviews from my family. might be one of my new go to taco shops . No indoor seating but they do have outdoor area , decent .

Great food! Everything was delicious! Some of the best rolled tacos I've had and I've had a lot. The staff were really friendly and service was great. Food came out quickly and hot. We'll be back!

Based on their Yelp reviews I decided to give this place a try. It's a small, unsuspecting place with a pretty straightforward menu and a variety of food options. It was late, so I called in my order to decrease my wait time. I was disappointed when they said they no longer sell the pork belly taco I saw on their Instagram page, so I decided to go with the pollo asado fries, Adobado taco, and spicy shrimp taco. The chicken on the fries was seasoned well and moist and the fries toppings were plentiful and super fresh. I expected a little more flavor from the Adobado taco, but it was still tasty. The spiciness of the spicy shrimp taco was so overpowering that I wasn't able to enjoy it. It was freshly made, but I just couldn't get past the heat. The quality and flavor of the tortillas, fresh salsas, and Horchata were a huge plus. Customer service was great. Wait time was as expected. I'll definitely be back to try more things!

The food is always on point. Alex is a dope cat to talk to when you have questions about the menu. The service is too notch, this is the only spot I got to for my taco, nacho and burrito fix. If you're going anywhere else, you are definitely missing out. The ambiance is chill, the outdoor seating is chill and relaxing. Come by get your fix gratified by the best food in the state.

I was excited to see a New Mexican restaurant on nearby. Fish tacos are good and good value. One of my go to places.

My group got the quesabirria tacos, carne asada fries, and California burrito. Overall everything was pretty good, not too heavy, and food came out really fast. The only thing I would say is the carne asada was a little bit lacking in terms of seasoning and the way it was cooked, but the quesabirria was amazing!!

Food: The food had some good flavor. I usually judge a place by seeing if they have good carne asada and this spot had a fire Cali burrito . The salsas were fire too! You can't have a good Mexican food spot without good salsa and the green salsa has flavor and a tiny kick to it, the red one ups that kick but with flavor and the orange one is good but not much of a kick to it but nonetheless a fire pick too. I usually judge a spot by their carne asada. If they can't get the basics down they can't get anything else down, their carne asada has good flavor, no need for salt packs. Ask for their Cali burrito with crispy fries and sheeeeeesh that mf smack! Service: Abigail was the one that attended me and the service was great! She was cool and recommended the horchata which was fire too Fresh, not too sweet and delicious. Ambiance: The vibe is a small mom and pop shop that serves nothing but good food. I ordered a carne asada and carnitas taco, and what i was given were two generous vessels of heaven sent flavor combinations compacted in these tacos. The star of each taco was the tenderness of both meats. As i bite down on the carne asada it was near butter tender , and with each chew released what every San Diegan should know as Carne Asada. The carnitas ... oh the tenderness and juicyness of each bite i could not resist and became primal. Contodo is one of many reasons i may not leave San Diego, authentic local SD Mexican food

Ordered the Skyline Burrito and it was delicious! Carne Asada, Fries and Shrimp make a great combination. The Burrito was huge and kept me full all day. The spicy red sauce added a nice touch of heat if you like it spicy.

Very clean inside and outside, patio seating with plenty of space. Food was very good, and we received out food promptly. Definitely will return!

Really good foods here so believe all the hype! Everything I ordered tasted delicious despite 1 item but that wouldn't deter me from coming back. It's a small shop located in the sketchy part of Paradise Hills in between Skyline and Meadowbrook. They should work on opening a drive thru that I seen used to be there because they'd make a lot of money. The place is small and once you're inside you will reek of grilled/cooked foods since the only thing separating is a dry wall. They do have a couple seats outside. The cashier was really nice. I went in last night and it was busy at the time I went so it took a bit but reasonable. Ordered carne asada fries, carne asada quesadilla, 2 pork belly tacos, 2 adobada tacos, and 2 fish tacos (which are $2 everyday). Everything was delicious! The carne asada was not salty and had a perfect taste! The fish tacos were good! The pork belly tacos were also really good that the pickled red onions complimented. Their adobada was a bit too salty for me. They gotta lay off the salt and add more pineapples. Their salsa is also really good especially the spicy red one. Would definitely come back!

We ordered the 1/2 order of carne asada fries, poblano taco, battered fish taco, quesabirria taco and mar y Tierra taco. Everything was amazing! Will definitely come back to try the rest of the menu

Ordered the California burrito $11.75 Rate: 6.5 out of 10 Generous on the portion size, but it was a basic burrito. Not a lot of flavor on the carna asda meat. Could use more cream/sour cream. The fry's were mid - could tell it's frozen fries they just heat up. Didn't give me that WOW it's hella good. Large Horchata 32oz $3.99 Rate: 8 out of 10 Flavor! Not too sweet and as perfect amount of cinnamon. Decent place to eat, wouldn't come back here.

Contodo is a Must-Try ! If you're on the hunt for authentic SD taco shop look no further than Contodo. just had an incredible meal there, and I'm still dreaming about . 2 Taco plate rice and beens Wow!

Fantastic spot for good Mexican food! Generous portions with plenty of meat. Birria and Carnitas Taco are excellent. Contodo burrito is amazing as well. Will come back for other tacos. The service was excellent - friendly and great.

I just recently tried this place and it was so good. I ordered chicken roll tacos and Carneasada fries + horchata and it was all amazing. Definitely my new. Go to a spot for taco shop food!

I have to say, I've returned to Contodo several times now, and each time, I have been more and more impressed. I recently has their chicken rolled tacos which were meaty, the fried fish tacos which were also generous and delicious, the carne asada tacos, carnitas, and pollo asada tacos and the they were fantastic on the house made corn tortillas, and finally the bacon and eggs breakfast burrito which was dynomite! The quality of the food is first rate. Customers service is always friendly and welcoming. I really like the pride they put into their food. It certainly makes a difference.

I've been coming here for awhile now, and have never tried the fish tacos, today I ordered them and wow I have been missing out cause these are some of the best fish tacos I have had here in San Diego, these are now my go to at this spot

Holy cannoli, that was one of the best burritos I've ever had and I consider myself a Mexican food connoisseur... It was so creamy and yummy and all three salsa that came with the burrito were so fresh and deliciously spicy with different notes of different peppers... I had the steak and shrimp burrito, and it was humongous! I could only finish a third of it and I'm looking forward to eating the rest for dinner. Thank you for making such good food

Always fresh and so quick. Their salsa verde is my favorite in town and nothing beats their chorizo breakfast burrito.

Came here for quick power up while moving. Was met with a friendly face who gave me a killer recommendation for the KILLERR breakfast burrito. Highly recommend! Contodo was fast, friendly, and the burrito was delicious. I'll definitely be coming back to try some of their other fresh eats.

I would have never expected this place to have such good tacos. My favorite was the rolled tacos. Seasoned tender meat, crispy fried corn tortilla, meat ratio was perfect. The green Chile with corn and cheese was awesome. Quick and friendly service. I'll be back for sure.

New taco spot in the area. Decided to stop by for lunch. Service was great! I was greeted as soon as I walked in by the owner. Food came out at a reasonable time. Ambience Was good. The outside is very inviting. They have outdoor seating. The shop is clean, and organized. The menu was easy to read on the screens above the counter. They also have paper menus if needed. Pricing is good for a street taco. Love that they have taco Tuesday deals! I ordered Adobada, Carne Asada, and pollo. I got a total of 6 tacos for my husband and I. They were all very delicious and filling. I love that the tortillas are handmade. They are generous with the amount of protein given. Parking available since it's in a small plaza. They have a drive-tru that isn't opened yet but they are working on the logistics of that. Happy to see a new spot in the neighborhood. Looking forward to working our way down the menu.

Whenever someone asked about the best place to get fish tacos I always tell them Tijuana oyster bar in Bonita. Not anymore, Contodo fish tacos are way better. Handmade tortillas, crispy batter on the fish, and made with the right ingredients. I also had an adobada taco and it was pretty good, not Tijuana good but still tasty. Tuesday 3 tacos for $8 would be a good deal

This place is fire. I've had to quesadilla. Multiple versions of all the Tacos. Including their new quesa birria taco which is extremely fire. I would highly recommend the rolled tacos and their regular tacos as they use homemade tortillas. But don't forget their California burrito that burrito is on another level.

The food was fire.. I had the carnita tacos, they were delicious. The owner Brian was very nice and made sure everything was on point. He checked to make sure if there was anything we needed while we were there. Great food and would recommend to stop by and check it out for yourself.

I've had the chilakil burrito, rolled tacos, fish taco, poblano taco, and agua half and half pina and Jamaica. I ordered thru door dash. So I haven't been into the restaurant yet but I will be going. The food is delish. I've ordered twice and need to go in and will update once I go. But so far this is going down as one of my go to lunch spots.

I used to drive far from this area to get a burrito and now I'm like 5 mins away from this great place. Love the salsas, Cali burrito, and the horchata! Definitely my go to now!!!! They pick up the phone fast and their service is fast! The ambiance is chill you can eat outside or in your car.

My review is long over due. This is my spot! So happy they revamped the menu. My only complaint is working on creating a better hot sauce ( not the chipotle sauce). Their customer service is top tier. I've had their rolled tacos all potato, beef and chicken. Chipotle shrimp taco, surf and turf fries , carne asada fries, chicken quesadilla, chips and a side of rice and beans, street tacos , pineapple agua Fresca , Cali burrito and their newly added crispy chicken taco. My family LOVE LOVE this place and the ppl that work here and serve the community. Give this place a try , you won't be disappointed

This place is legit the wifey and kiddos wanted some delicious mexican food and this place did not disappoint. The wifey 5 rolled tacos with the works two thumbs up My little ones adobada fries large pricy but well worth it. meat flavorful and the fries kept there crunchiness. Myself I ordered the poblano taco has to be my favorite out of all we ordered. Everything was delicious only complain I have is i ordered the beef roll tacos but I got chicken. Don't get me wrong the chicken tacos were delicious Employees friendly food delicious will come again All in all Garcia family approved !!!!!!
